Send and receive messages without Data or Signal with Fire Chat By @VicenteA_George #Chat #Apps

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you really wanted to send a message but couldn’t get a strong signal or a good data connection?

All of us have been there, at least once, and this is where FireChat finds it’s place.

images
FireChat is an Android and IOS app the allows you to send and receive messages without data connections or celular signal.

How does it work?

FireChat creates a mesh network using P2P Bluetooth and WiFi, transmits messages and images without connection between devices that are located about 70 meters away from each other.

It turns your phone into a repeater antena, Leaving the WIFI and BT on the app uses that signal to “Hop” between devices until it reaches the recipient.

The FireChat way

Therefore, the more people that use the app the better and faster network becomes, users form a network that increases in size with the number of devices. Allows messages jump from one device to the next. You can cover a practically the entire city with just 5% of the population using the app.

(perfect for the Z apocalypse don’t you think? hahaha)

There are two sides on this messaging app, Public Messages and Private Messages.

The public messages are visible to all, the private ones are encrypted and only the sender and the receiver can read them.

Now, imagine your kid went for a summer camp, normally they go to places where there’s almost ZERO connections, and as a parent that’s something that concerns you about. Well, with this app, if all the kids on the camp installs the app, they can create “their own network” and they can track each others if anything happens.

Worth the try huh?

Unfortunately nothing is perfect, and FireChat is not the exception, You don’t need to use your personal details to log into the app, you can use it anonymously. But, you’re going to need Internet on the first Log.
Although, once done,it works really well!

If you want to give the app a try you can go here: Android, IOS.

The app is free in both stores so you don’t have a excuse not to try it out.

Let us know what do you think of it, have you tried the app before? Leave your thoughts on the comments sections below.

Viber for Android and iOS gets a big update,Windows Phone left out. #Viber

Viber has got a notable update today on the Android and iOS platforms however Windows Phone has been left out in which the app still lags behind in general and performance so when it will get updated is anyone’s guess and nothing new for Windows Phone in General when it comes to updates with official apps. The update also brings more payment options to the app, making it even easier to purchase credit for using the app..

Other changes included in the app is animated stickers which seems to be quite a joy to hear for some, age dependent this is fine but as a user I find them annoying at times but that’s just my opinion..

  • Increased sharing functions: Users can now share phonebook contact details as a Viber message. Recipients can save the contact info directly to their phone’s contact list through the app.
  • Rich links: When a user shares a URL, Viber will automatically create a message bubble with a thumbnail image from the site they are sharing.
  • Easier video calling: Users can now initiate a video call directly from their contact’s profile or from their recent calls list.
  • Animated stickers: With over 500 sticker packs to choose from, Viber just made its library of stickers better with the ability to send live motion stickers through chat.

  • Message your friends
  • Make free phone and video calls with HD sound quality
  • Share photos, video messages, voice messages, locations, stickers and emoticons
  • Download stickers and animated stickers from the Sticker Market; sort and reorder your stickers.
  • Create group messages with up to 200 participants; manage your group chats as an Admin, editing info and deleting participants.
  • Follow Public Chats – get on the inside with your favorite personalities; watch their conversations unfold in real-time, ‘like’ comments and share multi-media content
  • Play games with Viber characters, Violet and Legcat; see how many coins you can earn
  • Android Wear support – send and receive messages from your watch
  • Push notifications guarantee that you never miss a message or call, even when Viber is off
  • Integration with native contact list for calls and messages
  • Support for the Viber Desktop application on Windows and Mac

The file transfer process works by using a Wi-Fi network (devices need to be in the same network), which makes transferring file incredibly quick and easy.

You’ll need just 4 steps to do it all:

1. Open the web browser on your PC and go to portal.pushbullet.com

2. Open the Portal app on Android and point the QR code of the website.

3. In the browser, drag the file or files you want to share via Wi-Fi.

4. Access the content posted on your smartphone or tablet located in the same Portal folder .

The files can be even bigger than 1gb

For those folks running Android 5.0 Lollipop or even newer OS, they can also move their transfer files to the SD card.

Samsung introduce “Flow” as beta to Fight W10 “Continuity” By @VicenteA_George #Samsung #Android #Flow #App

In the world we live now is almost sure that we always have the need to be “on everything”.

Apple has “Handoff”, Microsoft will have “Continuity” with W10 and now Samsung present us “Flow”

Flow is more than just an app, is a way from Samsung to integrate their devices in a way where you can use each one to do what they are made to do.

Flow is based on two simple things:

Transfer & Dafer

Transfer: is for moving an activity to the right device for a task and pick it up right where you left off rather than starting again.

Defer: is for “pause” an activity when the right device is not at hand or there just isn’t enough time to finish up a task. Then you can resume it when you’re ready.

Another feature that seems to be omitted in the description is “Notifications

You’ll receive the Notifications on the devices you’re using and choose if take it there or move it to another one.

Let’s take a look at what Samsung wants for us:

Looks nice isn’t it?

But there’s two downsides

1) It’s in Beta only available in the U.S
2) Is not fully compatible with all Samsung devices yet

Here’s a full list of compatible ones:

• Galaxy S4*
• Galaxy S5
• Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge
• Note 4 and Note Edge
• Galaxy Alpha
• Galaxy Tab S
• Galaxy Tab A
• Galaxy Note Pro 12.2¨*
• Galaxy Note 10.1 2014*

* =  experimental; contact flow-inquiries@samsung.com if you have trouble

The future looks bright for us, but we’ll have to wait a little more to enjoy things like this on full capacity.

Do you have more than one of the device mentioned above and want to give a try?

You can download Flow Here

The cure for drunk and embarrasing messages is here! Let’s welcome #RakEM app! By @VicenteA_George #app #android #IOS

I’m pretty sure that at least once you have sent an angry or embarrasing message during a night out to you ex girlfriend or the girl you like and the next morning you wish haven’t done that.

We all have wish of have an app that doesn’t let us send messages when we’re drunk, well although is not the same, now we can “unsent” those msg thanks to RakEM a new messaging app for Android and IOS.

This app have the essential self-mutating encryption algorithms, the basics device-to-device communication, picture sharing, voice calls, video calls, voice messages, and video messages. But also a little like the last update to the BBM you can now erase a massage un both devices.

But RakEM has and advantage and this lies in one simple thing. In order to do that on the BBM you need to activate that function (a thing we’re not able to do in such state), while in the RakEM app you just erase the message and done!

In here you can see a funny video showing how the app works.

You can donwload the app here: Android, IOS
