5 Best Sports Games For Your Phone.

The mobile gaming industry experienced exponential growth over the last couple of years, and this trend will continue to move forward thanks to smartphones becoming more powerful. The mobile gaming industry is expected to reach $153 billion by 2027 and the post-Covid-19 period suggests that we are 11.5% over the analysis, so as of now, the sky is the limit.

Smartphones are becoming more powerful, which means that they can process complex games supporting the portable gaming trend. Nowadays, even some of the biggest gaming companies are trying to come up with a mobile alternative.

There are all kinds of games that you can play on your phone, from futuristic AR and VR games to first-person shooting games, battle royales, and sports games.

These mind-blowing statistics inspired us to take a closer look at what’s happening in the mobile gaming industry, and find some of the best sports games that you should play on your phone.

NBA 2K Mobile Basketball

Worried that you’d miss playing NBA 2K while you are away from home? – Well, stop worrying just because there is an NBA 2K mobile game that you can plan anywhere you go.

Unlike most other games which don’t provide realistic graphics for mobile devices, NBA 2K has really impressive graphics that take mobile gaming to another level.

The only drawback is that when you put the players on auto, they play better than when you control them. With that said, it is still a really fun game to play and since its publisher is the original 2K sports company, it has all the licenses, players and teams included.

So, not only you can play with current players, but also with classic ones like one of the best shooting guards of all time Michael Jordan (click here to find TwinSpires’ full list of best shooting guards in NBA history).

Football Manager 2021 Mobile

With a rating of 4.8/5 on the App Store, it is one of the top-rated sports games, and there is a good reason for that. If you are not familiar with the Football Manager franchise, this is a game that enables you to become a manager of a successful team and compete in the big leagues.

Even though we are talking about a mobile game, it is still very advanced in terms of graphics and other features. The only drawback is the 2D simulation where you only see circles, instead of real 3D players playing.

With that said, it is still a fun game especially for all the football fanatics that think that they can do a better job of managing a team than some of the real managers.

FIFA Football

Let’s get one thing clear right from the start. This isn’t the FIFA you are used to playing on your console, but it is still very similar and fun to play. FIFA mobile still has the addictive Ultimate Team system and really impressive graphics.

Make sure to plug your phone in a charger just because it can drain your battery very fast.

Madden NFL Mobile

Now we move from European football to American football, which is a whole different thing. If you love watching NFL then you’d probably want to download this incredibly realistic game from EA Sports.

Madden NFL is the best-selling franchise when it comes to American Football, and there is a good reason for that. This is not an exact replica of their console game just because the mobile version is more of an arcade-style game where you can easily burn 15-30 minutes when you are bored.

Table Tennis Touch

Table Tennis is one of the most fun games to play just because it is simple enough and comes with great physics that are getting closer to the real thing. The graphics of this game are beautifully rendered, and you can play at various locations just to spice things up.

In terms of pace, this game is incredibly fast. Few minutes into the game you’ll find yourself tensing up with barely having time to blink. It also comes with different modes such as career, club, national, and international.

Table tennis is a simple but very fun sport and Yakuto Ltd developers managed to capture that moment and bring it to our mobile devices.

The Relevance of Live Streaming To The Future Of Sports Broadcasting

Sports fans from around the world spend thousands of dollars every year to gain access to their favourite teams’ games. Otherwise, if they’re not subscribed to the broadcasting channels, they would need to find a sports bar or hang out at a friend’s place to watch the games. However, a few years ago, with the rise of social media, live streaming came into existence and it completely changed the way things are done. Despite the resistance of major leagues and sports clubs, live streaming found its way into the fields and arenas and built quite the fan base posing as a real threat to the age-old sports broadcasting industry. However, live-streaming apps are only just starting so it’s a little early to claim that they will fully replace the mogul sports broadcasting industry. However, it’s worth considering that they’re going to have some major effects. If you’re interested to learn more about the relevance of live streaming to the future of sports broadcasting, continue reading.

It’s Not One or the Other

Even though live streaming might seem like it’s here to take over broadcasting and become the favoured medium for sports fans, their relationship is actually complementary. Live streaming plays a huge role in deepening the connection between fans and their favourite teams. It even has a direct effect on improving the popularity of underdog leagues and sports altogether. This only means that the sports industry as a whole including broadcasters is going to grow even further. Which is the main reason why established sports broadcasting channels are jumping at the opportunity to create their own streaming/OTT (over the top) platforms.

It Will Make Way for Better Cost-Efficiency

The sports broadcasting industry is worth billions of dollars, it’s almost impossible to assume that all of this money is properly and fairly allocated. With live-streaming coming into the picture, fans are dropping their cable subscriptions in favour of the more engaging streaming apps, this will encourage broadcasters to change their ways and rethink their wasteful strategies. Experts over at Australia-based streaming platform https://blog.ligrsystems.com/customer-stories/cluch-tv-is-producing-over-100-live-games-a-weekend-using-ligr explain that as live streaming is becoming more dependent on cloud-based solutions, there’s an opportunity to produce high-quality content at the fraction of the costs incurred by major sports productions. However, the initial investment to set up the necessary graphics tools for an aggregated OTT platform should be taken into account for actual cost estimation.

It Stimulates the Need for Better Content

One clear way where live streaming is completely dominating traditional broadcasting is the creative content. The spontaneity of live streaming makes for much more captivating content than that of the often rigid live production. After-match Q&As, exclusive interviews, and special footage have all become synonymous with live-streaming and are the primary reasons fans are hooked on this new sports viewing platform. This will only stimulate the need for richer content from broadcasters and force them to start moving out of their comfort zones to create a more interactive medium if they want their avid fans to stick around. In addition to content, live streaming is also excelling in automated graphics which significantly enhances the viewing experience. If broadcasting channels want to keep up with live-streaming apps, they will have to up their game in terms of the visual effects and graphics that they employ when airing important sports events.

It Will Attract More Fans

Live streaming allows the audience to watch games whenever and wherever they wish. This accessibility is likely to encourage the so-called casual viewers to follow sports more intently just because they’re in charge of the viewing terms. A casual viewer won’t commit to a monthly cable subscription to watch the premier league. However, the same viewer could be interested in following the league on their smartphone during their daily commute. This will increase the probability of more casual viewers turning into proper fans which in turn increases the likelihood of them activating a cable subscription so as not to miss out on their newfound obsession.

It Might Steal Away Ads Deals

In recent years, there have been a number of incidents where live streaming platforms stole away ad deals from traditional broadcasters. Since ads are one of the most important sources of revenue for broadcasters, this might be a real challenge to try to overcome. However, competition only means better service and content for the audience who seem to be the only party benefiting in all cases.

Live streaming is indeed coming in with a bang. However, as mentioned above, it doesn’t have to be an ‘either/or’ situation where fans have to make a choice between live streaming and traditional broadcasting. Broadcasters can find imaginative solutions to use live streaming platforms to enrich their already-established market. If done right, all parties involved will benefit from this.

Tech Review – SOUL S-FIT true wireless. #SOUL #Sports #Tech

The Soul S-FIT are the last of the trio in we had for review and are aimed at the folk into fitness, having said that anyone can wear these and will be pleased with the overall performance however the fit is the key point here which is super secure even for those out on walks or working out at home. Again available in colours that pop these will grab attention should you bump into anyone and people have asked about them whilst I tested them out when jogging etc. Check out the unboxing and comparison between the trio below..

As mentioned these are primarily for the fitness folks and these will not budge also giving you a good seal from the outside work yet you do have transparency mode, you also get the IP67 rating here with ergo fit and freebit wings for an even more fit. These also come with shock resistance built in which is something you do not see every day and yes I have dropped them once or twice and all is good still now, you get a solid 33 hours battery life with AAC codec and USB-C fast charge, the touch controls work well here like all their earbuds and it is easy to get the thumb memory going. Of course you have access to your voice assistance here too for those who use these features..

How they sound is what you want to hear and overall they are decent with a similar signature to the SYNC ANC and you will be pleased with the performance, there is no ANC here but overall you get that good seal. Tech Review – SHURE Aonic 215 True Wireless. #SHURE #Tech

SHURE is a well known audio brand but perhaps not so much at consumer level and is a company geared for audiophiles in the music industry for example but now they have launched true wireless for the consumer and the 215 TWS are what is on offer giving the consumer an idea of what they can do.

Fit is really good here and they will not move so if you jog or go to the gym these are perfect, comfort is also great and with the comply foam tips they offer good isolation straight away. Once on you will forget they are there after a while. The controls are great, a big circular button that gives you options to control music on the go, minus volume control. The thing to take note of here is you dont touch the earbud which in some cases put pressure on the ears making commands and so on.

Sound quality is clean not with a heavy bass but overall clean crisp and clear with vocals, music, direction and instruments it is a well balanced set up and only boosted with their own app which is great to see, Calls are great however only on the one side and the same for independent use. This is common enough though with true wireless earbuds so not a huge issue in fairness. There is also no lag latency here when using for videos or Netflix for example..

Battery life is quite good at the higher end of the scale, Given the case is bigger than normal it works well and keeps your earbuds secure and looks high end with the materials used and will turn heads when sat on a table.  Overall these are a great set of earbuds to have and for those into fitness and they show what the company can do and I would love to see how their headphones fair out too.

Motion capture set to transform the future of sports biomechanics. #Vicon #MotionCapture #Sports

Vicon, a world leader in motion capture, today publishes a new vision paper identifying the key trends and developments that will determine the future of motion capture technology in sports over the next five years — discussing how the technology is now quickly becoming part of the fabric of sport.

Drawing on Vicon’s own experts and industry voices from across academia and professional practice, the report provides a range of perspectives on and predictions for the future of motion capture technology in sporting contexts, touching upon just some of the ways the technology will bring new value to the industry — helping athletes, coaches and sport scientists enhance performance, accelerate development and prevent injury from the elite to the grassroots.

Some of the key trends for the next 12 months and into 2025 include:

The rise of inertial and wearable sensors

Advances in technology over the last few years means that wearables and inertial sensors — used to measure and analyse athlete movement in minute detail without the need for cameras —have become more accessible than ever.

Not only are they now more affordable and light-weight for portability, in combination with intuitive apps, they make it easier for anyone to be able to analyse and understand the data being captured — from elite performance analysts right down to grass roots coaches and consumers.

With this in mind, we’re likely to see the use of wearables and inertial sensors move from the fringes of sports to the mainstream.

Tracking athletes in-competition

Wearable sensors will give physios and sports scientists access to athlete data away from training — which is especially important when it comes to monitoring for injuries and minimising the risk factors. Simply put, athletes can fully expect 24/7 tracking to become the norm.

But an even greater prize for researchers and athletes is the possibility of extending data collection to in-competition tracking — a level of detail that we have limited access to today.

By 2025 however, it’s likely we’ll see real-time video tracking become available for in-competition monitoring to extend data collection from beyond athlete training scenarios to full competitive environments.

The new vision paper also looks in detail at the use of motion capture within app-based tracking solutions, the use of virtual reality (VR) for next-gen training and the synchronisation of optical and inertial tracking to enable more powerful insights than ever before.

Imogen Moorhouse, CEO at Vicon, commented: “Technology has a huge role to play in enabling a greater understanding of athlete performance. But despite the growth in the use of motion capture, we are still a long way from extracting maximum value from motion tracking technology.

“As a company that is focused on innovation – working closely with researchers and teams to push the boundaries of what is possible with motion capture – we want to ensure we continue to lead the way in the future of sports science and biomechanics. As such, we have published this new vision paper to not only identify the key trends impacting sports, but also to suggest pathways that will set new standards and goals within the industry.”

Review – The Jam Athlete TWS earbuds. #JamAudio #TWS #Tech

If you are on the lookout for some new True Wireless and are on a budget these are something to check out and do a great job at the price they come in at and are ideal for fitness folk, One thing that is a staple for fitness gurus is having true wireless that will not budge and these certainly do not move after my testing.

When it comes to sound they do a decent job too and have all the controls at your fingertips with a clicky button rather than one you tap which works best for me but a touch sensitive area is no different either for me. The design and fit is spot on and there is a selection of tips to get that right fit that will give you some isolation. The sound is good overall and well balanced not the best in the world but for the price you pay here you really cant complain, they sound good overall on calls and using the likes of netflix and you tube with no lag latency noticed.  Battery life is also decent here too and you get around 6 hours of use in total but overall 30 with the case on the go which is pretty good. See the first look of the EXEC and ATHLETE

Casio announces new smartwatch with Android Wear 2.0. #CES2017 #Smartwach #Android #Casio

We still have more news from CES2017 although there’s no the same amount of smartphones as before, we knew we could find some wearable tech.

When Google announced Android Wear 2.0 we weren’t sure about which company will show out of the ordinary, but Casio made an interesting presentation by giving us the second gen of their previous rugged Smartwatch, enter the WSD-F20 or :

Pro Trek

As its predecessor, comes with MIL-STD-810G rating, which means that is capable of withstand almost anything you’re willing to do with it.

After all, is specifically made for outdoors adventurers.

The same impressive and interesting Dual-Layer Display makes a comeback with more faces to choose and an additional GPS Sensor (something we miss on the previous generation) that offer low power consumption and Offline and Colored maps to use even if you phone ran out of battery.

It will come with Casio’s apps to track and keep control on your activities, but we a new one call Location and Traveler that became available thanks to the new components.

But there’ll be more apps to expect thanks to Android Wear 2.0 (also compatible with iOS despite some limitations)

There’s only one flaw, and is that is only going to be available on April 21st and we still have no information about pricing, but we can assume it’ll be pretty close to previous offers.

What are your thoughts on the new iteration from Casio? Adding that GPS will make you decide for this model over other options out there?

Unique 11 – A new social gaming platform for sports fans. #StartUp #Gaming #Sports

Unique 11 is  a new social gaming platform for sports fans. And we have Steve Mc Comb here today to tell us all about the idea and how it came about…Over to you Steven….

My name is Steven McComb, I am the founder and Managing Director of Unique 11 – a new social gaming platform for sports fans. My background is in web development and I gave up my job of almost 7 years in February to go full time with the Unique 11 project. The driving force for me was the opportunity to take part in the Propel Programme, an accelerator programme for start-ups run by InvestNI.

We had launched the first full public version of our site at the start of recently finished English Premier League season and we received some encouraging progress with users signing up from 35 different countries. We have players from Scandinavia, Asia, the US, and of course the UK and Ireland. At our peak times during the season we reached 100,000 visits a month. Spotting an opportunity to capitalise on the hype surrounding Northern Ireland qualifying for their first major tournament in 30 years, I was able to secure a partnership with the Irish FA and we’ve teamed up to supply a customised Northern Ireland version of our online game available to play now at www.gawafantasyfootball.com. We also approached the FAI but unfortunately they were not interested in providing a similar gaming experience for their fans.

I’ve been lucky enough to team up with my brother Andrew and former work colleague Adam Young who do a great job looking after the creative direction of the business. As a massive football fan myself and getting to work alongside my brother  means I’m arguably one of the lucky few to actually be doing their dream job.
