Samsung buys Harman International, one of the largest audio and connected tech companies.

At the beginning of the week, we found out that the South Korea company had bought the audio leader Harman for about $8.0 billion.

Paying $112.00 per share in cash, the well-known phone and electronics manufactures decided this November 14th to enter on a definite agreement with the audio expert.

The connected car solutions Harman offer and well-known for everyone and gives Samsung access to JBL, Harman Kardon and others.

“HARMAN perfectly complements Samsung in terms of technologies, products and solutions, and joining forces is a natural extension of the automotive strategy we have been pursuing for some time,” said Oh-Hyun Kwon, Vice Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Samsung Electronics.  “As a Tier 1 automotive supplier with deep customer relationships, strong brands, leading technology and a recognized portfolio of best-in-class products, HARMAN immediately establishes a strong foundation for Samsung to grow our automotive platform. Dinesh Paliwal is a proven global leader and, in our extensive discussions, we have developed deep respect for him, his strong senior leadership team and HARMAN’s talented employees.  HARMAN’s sustained track record of rapid growth fueled by technology leadership and an unmatched automotive order pipeline reflects its commitment to innovation and customers.”

Samsung is aiming really hard at the automotive market with this deal, but we can expect some proper audio expertise on the company connected home and mobile technologies.

There are several expectations on the automotive, audio and connected technology part about it. All of which can be read on the link at the end.

What are your thoughts on this? Do you think Samsung is going to improve the sound quality on its products? Or is just going to focus on the automotive market?

#Microsoft announces new Surface Studio PC and updated Surface Book i7. #Surface #Windows

During an event yesterday, Microsoft unveiled their two new offerings in the computer department.

Aiming not only to consumers that need portability but also the ones that need a powerhouse at home, we now see the company focusing once again in hardware…Well except mobile phones anyway..

Surface Book I7

There’s no big news on the portable side as what we have is a revindication of what I should have been the first offering.

The Surface Book is a great device, but for the more demanding professionals is was aimed, Not having the greatest battery life and some compatibility issues was a let down. But those flaws were attacked and now we have a new offer with the latest I7 processor (hence the name).

Also, they improved the graphics performance and increased the battery by 30%, everything else remains the same as previous models.

They even made a video just to say that, take a look:

The new model will be available starting in November and will start at $2,399 with pre-orders already open.

Surface Studio

This was the main attraction during the event, dubbed as “Surface Studio” this All-in-one PC is aimed to professional photographers, designers as well as Illustrators.

With a huge 28″ LCD PixelSense Display and a resolution of 4,500 x 3,000 (3:2 aspect), the Studio is Microsoft take on Apple’s iMac series.

Only one big difference though, the panel is completely tactile, which offer a whole new world of possibilities.

The spec sheet is quite impressive:

The price tag of the base model will be $2,999.00 going all the way up to $4,199.00 for the high-end model.

Capable of Pen input as you’d expect from a Surface product, that’s not the only trick under the sleeve.

Pair with the “Zero Gravity Hinge” that allows it to go from monitor to drawing desk, the addition we are really impressed is the Surface Dial.

As You can see from the video above, the Dial is not just an extra tool to have around, Its what will complement the experience when your primary work is on the designing or editing process.

With haptic feedback to let you know you’re changing option without seeing using the radial input, add free location on the screen and you ready to work whenever you want.

As extra, the little gadget with not only be compatible with the new Studio Pc, but also with the Surface Book and the Surface Pro 4.

The can get a standalone Dial once available for $99 with just one color option (looks fine to me), but if you pre-order the Surface Studio before next month you’ll one for free.

But tell us, Do you think Microsoft is offering a solid option against the iMac or the MacBook that are currently on the market? Will be good enough to compete with today’s announcements from Apple?

Google’s new Pixel phones turn out to come with IPXX rating #Google #Pixel

Just this week we were showing the new phones for “Android Purist” right after the official unveiling.

But today we learnt something about them that was completely omitted during the presentation and even on the official specs page from Google. Come to think of it there was a few more things left out..

Both the Pixel and Pixel XL come with IP53 (Water and Dust Resistance)

Apparently this was clarifed by Google to Droidpolice,  but we wonder why they skipped it during the presentation.

Although this is good, don’t get to exited about it, IP53 doesn’t mean you can go and start filming underwater shots with your phone. Actually, it is only protected against little rain and some dust ingress.

Which is not bad but I’d be careful anyway to not get near water with these two.

What do you think of this? Will this make you get into the Pixels wagon? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section below.

The One Plus 3 leather case review from @noreve #tech #review

The One Plus 3 is arguably the best phone for its money today but with the new launches of other devices since it takes the once noted best pound for pound mobile out there. All that said its served us well to date and of course we need some protection for it,this time round we have a new leather case from Noreve.

Overall the case looks and feels good given it completely covers the entire device when closed and not being able to see the device is an issue for some, Note that you can of course open the flap and leave it sat on a table, the clasp that holds the device shut actually comes in handy here raising the device up slightly, One setback though if folded back the camera is not available but is so when just opened as normal and again some might see this as a bit too much due the size of the phone, with the case opened this might cumbersome but not much of a caveat.

Overall the case serves its purpose well.. All corners are hardened on the case and all keys are easily accessible along with all the ports with no complaints to be had there this also includes the speaker which is not affected at all.. As far as design goes its simple, with the Noreve logo atop and then a small grille, inside is embossed with their logo as per norm. The clap up top is solid and secure meaning should you drop your device it wont fly open like some cases can so as far a protecting your device goes you are covered.. The case does a a small bit of thickness which is obvious from the front flap but not a major concern considered the phone itself is big,the leather has a nice texture to it and its not slippy and also not super grippy but balanced well,it really feels good in the hand and secure…As for the camera area you are also fine with good clearance especially when lay back down, there is nothing to worry about here. All in all the case is professional looking, feels good to hold and serves its purpose…

The used leather has been carefully selected by our rigorous team. The leather flap protects the screen while leaving the surface totally usable when opened. The fastener is easily clipped onto the top of the device. The rear case protects all the corners and limits the shocks in case of fall. All buttons and ports of the One Plus “Three” are accessible. It is possible to connect the charger cable without opening the cover. Small cut-outs were made to hear the sound from the speakers. The inner is carefully engraved with the Noreve logo. The Tradition model is the must-have of the brand. Its refined and stylish design will delight the most demanding users.

NVIDIA announced they’ll bring their GeForce 10 GPU series, portability with new NoteBooks. #NVIDIA #Notebook #Gamers

Something all gamers have always dreamt of, is having the same performance of their more than capable desktop computers when going on the road, but even the “gamer laptops” tended to be a little under powered compare to those bigger siblings.

All that is just about to change thanks to NVIDIA and their newly announced GeForce 10 series of GPU made for NoteBooks

Earlier this week, the company let us know that thanks to the new Pascal architecture made for laptops, we can now have the GTX 1080, the 1070 and the 1060 running inside “ultra-portable” NoteBooks.

And according to them, you´ll see only 10% drop in performance compare to desktop cards and up to 3x better performance over previous generations.

Some of the specs we have are:

GeForce GTX 1080 GeForce GTX 1070 GeForce GTX 1060
GPU Architecture Pascal Pascal Pascal
Frame buffer 8 GB GDDR5X 8 GB GDDR5 Up to 6 GB GDDR5
Memory type speed 10 Gbps 3 Gbps 3 Gbps
Boost Clock Actual 1733 MHz 1645 MHz

1670 MHz

Thanks to Pascal, we also have VR ready laptops, with support even for 120Hz monitors.

By now, we’ve seems lots of OEMs jumping on the train to have the latest offers, but something to have in mind will be cost.

There’s no official price at the moment but the MSI computer that already carry the cards are nowhere near “cheap”.

So is up to you, Will you get your “portable Master Race PC” as soon as they become available? Or will you stick to game just at home?

This HP backpack is all you need to save your gadgets life. #HP #Powerbank

If something has changed since the inclusion of smartphones in our life, is how important wall outlets have become.

Therefore, the need for power banks is common but sometimes its just harder to find them in local stores. Thinking about it, HP came out the idea of turning the battery into a full backpack.

HP Powerup Backpack

The idea comes in handy when you paired with a generous capacity. Included is a 22400 mAh power bank that can charge smartphones, tablets and even laptops.

As far as they don’t use USB Type-C, everything should be fine. But the novelties don’t stop there, there’s also a “heat sensor” that will automatically adjust the temperature.

The Power up comes with a wide variety of charging cables but Type-C or any proprietary charging method, albeit with an adapter you should be ready to go. The Laptop charger works for most HP laptops (as you could expect) but also works for those that use 4.5mm or 7.4mm barrel connectors.

The Power bank comes with USB 2.0 and USB 2.4 and 19V outputs to have you covered.

The material seems to be very durable and is said to withstand some rain, but in case the sky in falling over you, there’s a rain cover include in the box.

But lets take a look:

Unfortunately is not yet available, but it will be on September 14th, you pre-order yours via Amazon, but with a price tag of $199.99 is not precisely “cheap”.

You can get one HERE

Nintendo has everyone drooling with their revamped new mini NES Classic Edition. #Nintendo #Gaming

If you’re like, you probably know what are we talking about here. All those countless hours we spend in our bedrooms playing with our siblings or cousins to see who was better playing Galaga.

And for the not so young around, we talking about one of Nintendo’s best-selling consoles:

Nintendo Entertainment System or NES

Back in the 80s there was nothing better than playing your favorites games at home. Those games were so good than even today you can find newer versions or simple “ports” to work on our smartphones via a simple APK or an emulator.

Today Nintendo officially announced that they’re going to be releasing a revamped version of it called Nintendo Classic Mini.

This version comes with improved (too improved for those who remember how it was) video output with an HDMI connection to pair with the newest TVs out there, and its own version of the NES Controller

That package comes with the console,  a controller and a USB cable to power the device

Second controller is sold separately

And if you happen to have one of your old controllers you can also use that

But as weird as it sounds , there’s no AC adapter so you’ll need to buy one (or use one from another gadget) to actually turn it on.

As we’re talking about a mini version of your old console, your games cartridges will not work with it, instead it comes with 30 games preloaded.

The included titles are:

Balloon Fight
BUBBLE BOBBLE
Castlevania™
Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest™
Donkey Kong
Donkey Kong Jr.
DOUBLE DRAGON II: THE REVENGE
Dr. Mario
Excitebike
FINAL FANTASY®
Galaga™
GHOSTS‘N GOBLINS™
GRADIUS™
Ice Climber
Kid Icarus
Kirby’s Adventure
Mario Bros.
MEGA MAN™ 2
Metroid
NINJA GAIDEN®
PAC-MAN™
Punch-Out!! Featuring Mr. Dream
StarTropics
SUPER C™
Super Mario Bros.
Super Mario Bros. 2
Super Mario Bros. 3
Tecmo Bowl™
The Legend of Zelda
Zelda II: The Adventure of Link

As you can see, most of those titles were best sellers back then, and some of those have a bunch of loving memories.

Unlike modern games, there will be no online connections or accounts, but unlike old games you can save your progress and specific point of the game without the need of codes like the good old days.

The launch date is set to November 11th, just one year after their 30th anniversary. For you to remember (and for the ones that never watched it before) here´s the very first TV ad

The console will have a price tag of $59.99 which honestly is way cheaper than I expected, but totally love the price.

The extra controller will set you back at $9.99

What do you think of this? Will you buy one once they´re available? Let us know in the comment section below or tweet us with your thoughts.

Smile Capture

AS you can see, they bring back the NFC support for this version, which is great, but they also confirmed already that they will not be offering a OnePlus X 2 as the company want to focus on flagship devices like when it started.

Another killer feature of these devices is the insane amount of RAM you have now, 6GB of RAM to move everything around.

The only “downside” you could find its the 1080p screen for a 5.5″ device on 2016, but in reality you’ll not see any difference unless you compare it directly to an S7 side by side.

What still remains to be seen if the 3000mAh battery will be enough  or even better due to the lower resolution screen, what could help a little is the fast charging capabilities, giving you 6h of use with just 30min charge.

Another great feature of the OnePlus 3 lies on its super customizable nature, you minimum knowledge you can easily slap a custom ROM on it and make it look exactly the way you want.

At the beginning we told you that now the device just have two color options, but now all those lovable back cover of the OnePlus 2 are now cases that you can use depending on the occasion.

All that for $399 is not a bad deal at all, the best part? They finally get rid of the “invite system” so you can get right now if you want to.

But let us know, Would you get one? Do you have one already? What are your thoughts on this 6GB monster? Sound off in the comment section below or join the conversation on twitter.

Would you buy a $17.000 smartphone? This, is @SIRINLABS “Solarin”. #Android #Security

Sirin labs is a Israeli startup that’s aiming to play the same game as Vertu by offering luxury smartphones with outstanding security suites.

This is the case of this $16.000 (aprox. £9,500) smartphone, that promises “experience out of this world”.

The phone’s look is specially design to create a mixture between been nice looking and resistant.

Fist of all let’s take a look at some of the internals:

Display: 5.5 inches, IPS

Resolution: 2560×1440 pixels

OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop

Chipset: Qualcomm Snapdragon 810

GPU:  Adreno 506

Memory: 128 GB (No SD) / 4 GB RAM

Camera: rear 23,8MP, laser/phase detection autofocus, four-tone
flash; front 8 MP, front facing flash

Battery: Li-Ion 4000 mAh

At first glance its nothing we have not seen before (for twenty times less money hahaha) but what makes this device “unique” is the security suite, which is said to meet the high military standards called Zimperium, which protects the smartphone against advanced devices attacks, applications and network.

Also comes with Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) 256-bit chip-to-chip. technology used at army grade by its simplicity, all you need to do, is move the switch located on the back of the device al your ready to go.

The devices itself comes with a one of a kind design, in multiples colours, but as you change the colours, you change the price, for you to have an idea this would be the price tag of each:

Colors:
Fire Black Carbon Leather with Titanium $ 13.800 + taxes,
Fire Black Carbon Leather with Diamond like Carbon $ 14.900 + taxes,
Fire Black Carbon Leather with Yellow Gold $ 17.400 + taxes,
Crystal White Carbon Leather with Diamond like Carbon $ 15.900 + taxes.

So, what do you think about this? Do you think it is the most secure smartphone? Would you pay the price for been “annonymous”? Let us know in the comment section below, or join the twitter conversation.
