Tech Review – Edifier W240TN earbuds

With a new style at hand here from Edifier these piston inspired designed earbuds as they have called them drew some attention and not only this it is nice to see a new design of earbuds as overall the design element like mobile phones is getting boring now so it was good to see something that looks different and coming in a cool case with an LED light up front was also a good move so how did these fair out after testing them?

The design and looks are good as mentioned and they fit really well they do stand out and have a nice silver accent on the tips which is plastic like the whole earbud but this does not make them uncomfortable either they fit well in the ears and stay put and of course you should ensure you have the right tips so do check them all out for your best fit.

Edifier W240TN – techbuzzireland

The case has borrowed a nice LED effect up front like the Neo Buds Pro we reviewed which again is an excellent pair of earbuds so do check out that review too and see how they done, On the tips you have buttons which is an arguable debate of which is best and I prefer these bit no problem using touch sensitive earbuds and for controlling these they worked really well and have been responsive at all times.

There is app access folks yes that’s right Edifier Connect and great to see and works well and has improved with an update during my test period check out more on that in the video review below. Below is an idea of what you will see in the app and how the UI looks. Battery life is decent here too and good all round and realistic to their claims from my testing.

When it comes to sound these do well again and only expected from Edifier overall without going into the usual definitions these for me passed the test and again at the price point you can’t complain decent volume nice bass and of course the app can help you along and has a gaming mode for those want something  more.. Check the video for more and let us know if you have these and what you think.

The W240TN also includes a range of ergonomic features. For those who lead a busier life,  listening to music in the gym or whilst they’re out for a run, the buds are IP55 certified –  meaning they are water resistant and sweat proof – and feature Edifier’s impressive AI call  noise cancellation technology, which allows users to enjoy clear and life-like call audio  without external noise interfering. To ensure your safety whilst listening to your favourite  artists or calling an old friend, the W240TN also comes with an optional ‘Ambient Mode’  designed to allow environmental sounds (like car engines, tannoy callouts or dogs barking)  to seep through into your listening.

Tech Review – Maidesite T2 Pro Plus standing desk

Over the last Three years or so I have been using several types of set-ups at home for my work and tech reviews, In fact I have two set-ups in at home and it is just as well I do and it is great to have those options with kids so I have a place to work in peace and quiet when required so for me having a set-up I can move to in an instant is important for me to get things done without interrupting my workflow and both set-ups would have similar products at hand and all ready to go so the only thing that needs moving is my phones.

Having a desk is important and space and having tested several options the sit stand desk or a desk that can move up and down is ideal and when it is electric it is even more sweet and less hassle for me and anything else as no movement is required of products and cable management is now embedded in pretty much all these types of offerings.

So the latest one which is now set up is from Maidesite and this is their Electric Standing Desk S2 Pro Plus and it is a superb standing desk and suits all my needs down to a tee. What’s more this one is not as complicated to set up like previous ones or holes need to be drilled into your walls and little tools required, in fact they are all in the box bar a screwdriver to mount the control unit the rest is all allen key screws and the key is provided.

Setting up did not take long either which only took me about 25 mins to get the whole thing set up and running and that was another bonus for me as time matters plus it is fairly simple and not complicated as some can be as mentioned.

The best way top set up is to grab two chairs and lay the table top on it upside down of course take out all the pieces and lay them in order with the screws provided and have it all ready at hand and then follow the instructions on the booklet inside, these may seem complicated for some however with this table no so much. You can see some of this set-up process in the video below anyway and how it all works and get an idea of what it all looks like..

The great thing with this Desk is the ability to move it around plus the controls to raise and lower the table which can cater for adults and kids but for me standing is the better option and healthier but I can also sit down should I want to and my daughter can use it for college and so on and for my main use which is office work and tech reviews it just solves several issues in one place and does it really well and can be used in several ways. I do change my set-ups from time to time and rotate the tech for example and will have an additional new triple length light to clip onto the back of the desk when I use two laptops for example sometimes I just have one on the desk and would be doing videos so there is plenty of space regardless here to do multiple tasks and do them easily with no cables in the way.

The frame itself here what impresses me most too it is solid and sturdy given all the dimensions and weight involved it does not move an inch when working on it either in a sitting or standing position and for me who is one to lean on such the same applies and makes this super robust and can be placed away from a wall or in the center of a room the choice is yours.

The control board actually has a USB port on it too which makes it great for charging my phone for example of any other bits like earbuds and headphones so all I need is at my fingertips in reach and no hassle and all is kept simple and that is how I like it and that is what this table offers, simplicity with all in your reach and the space to do what you need.

Tech Review – Gravastar Sirius Zinc Alloy Gaming Earbuds

I am becoming a huge fan of Gravastar having tested some of their products and we have tested several bluetooth speakers and a pair of earbuds before which where the Sirius Pro Gaming Earbuds and they were great with a unique design and super cool case and excellent packaging to boot. Do check out that review here.

So when these arrived at the price they are I said to myself this is where they must fall at this price point and much to my surprise no they didn’t in fact the exceeded my expectations coming in under 100 euro and with what you get with the package.

Once again presented in a case with a pouch and chain we are off to a good start but then the case that hold the earbuds is not made with plastic it is again zinc alloy and really cool looking earbuds to go with it and you just have to wonder how they could deliver such a cool product for the price they are, there is no app and no wireless charging but the rest is there and if you want looks and great sound on a budget well these are for you.

So the sound it is then we go on to talk about, having no app made me think for this price they would sound woeful but no, there is three modes to pick from which changes the game here and they work really well and if you are into your gaming you will like these, no matter which audio profile you pick you will not be disappointed by how they sound overall, you have three modes which are gaming mode , movie mode and music mode and there is a notable difference between them which is a good thing unlike others that offer the same profiles. There is no ANC here but ENC but overall once the volume is turned up forget about what is around you. You have 7.2mm dynamic drivers and no lag latency noted during my time testing and calls are fine  both ends.

Gaming Mode Pinpoint the direction of your enemy’s footsteps with 5.1 virtual surround sound.

Movie Mode Get a full cinematic experience with HD surround sound and be right in the middle of the action.

Music Mode Feel like you’re at the front row at a concert with clear, natural vocals and a deep bass you can feel through your entire body.

So as seen above this is what to expect and not just a statement to make them look good they are good and no matter which setting you choose you will find out for yourself the audio quality is excellent, as said in the video review below the cost to performance has come along way now with earbuds and in this case with the quality materials used you are onto a winner with these.

Tech Review – JBL Tour One Headphones

JBL has launched plenty of new products lately and we have a few products to get through and mostly earbuds and so far so good in the testing on them but these headphones are one thing that caught my eye and was looking forward to checking these out and I was not disappointed and they have a cool trick up their sleeve which I never even noted in the unboxing experince of several JBL products here

The Tour One headphones have been out some time now however they still are in my book considered a current pair you would use today with a really nice matt finish that looks glossy with darker tones on the inner side of the cups with a bronze type colour finish and it looks well and gives them a premium look the cups are also comfortable too and wearing them for long periods is no issue either and I had a 6 hour stint in one session alone with them.

The build quality too is great and no creaks noted on doing the usual twist test you have a nice comfortable headband and the usual ratchet style sliders for the arms on both sides which are solid and will not move, these also also foldable and stow away nicely in the travel case provided with some extra cables inside and an adapter too which makes a nice complete package and ideal for those who travel.

When it comes to sound these are really good and up there with other brands with good volume and ANC too the audio experience is also great all round and they kept me happy during my testing be it listening to music gaming and movies with a really rich experience in there with some bass to and lets not forget about their app too.

The JBL app has improved giving the user many options to take control there is some differences in their app as you go through their products which you will see here in the other reviews coming out soon and it is for the better, in some cases you can see why and who the target customer is.

The controls on the headphones are easy to use and you have many other options at hand with the App like talk through, ambient mode and more, one feature I like now and is common with JBL products is the Assistant button which is present here on the headphones which allows you to listen to messages and more and get on the fly info by just pressing it, also here you have control rockers but also a gesture/tap area on the right cup which allows you to control the music even more and a nice feature one we have seen before but these are a hybrid approach with both buttons and the gestures.

There is also other features such as Silent Now which lets you take control of what you want to hear and can be modified to suit your needs, so ideal for productivity, calls are also good and clear here and no lag latency noted during any scenario testing these headphones and with the app you have more control than ever to customise these to your needs be it for work or personal use and you should check them out. Check the video review below for a full tour.

Tech Review – QCY T18 true wireless earbuds, value for money.

Earbuds and headphones are my thing here and it is a rare occasion when I get impressed with earbuds under a certain price and as I have been saying for a while now the cost to performance ratio has come along way when it comes to both and with a pair of earbuds that have an app which is actually great and aptX for well under a 100 quid is a rare thing, yes there is other caveats here like mobile phones cutting corners to get the price down but here these are not key features left out and everyone has their own features they desire, as someone who reviews the most earbuds in Ireland I can relate to all sides here so even for me I have my own personal preferences but again can let those go if the product as whole delivers so  what is missing here before we move in is auto play and pause wireless charging and that is probably the only downsides here which is not much to talk about but you get the full story here from us on what you get for your money..

As those who know we do not give a stock image review with no context or two paragraphs and the press release attached we give you the video we look at the features and the app and there is plenty here to talk about at this price point. So what features for me here that stands out at the price here is aptX dual point connectivity and app and single use (AKA mono mode) meaning you can use one earbud at a time while the other is still charging, this believe it or not is a feature left out on earbuds three or four times the cost of these but again different strokes for different folks and all that everyone has their needs and preferences.

Ok so there is an app here which is cool and works well and allows you to customise your earbuds, yes we go through this in the video review and what you have at your disposal with the EQ player not only that you have find your earbuds and lots more which makes these appealing and lots on offer. And… you even get the pop up window on the app set-up.

As for comfort and fit these are also fine, stems are not for all  and come in different lengths and thicknesses nor are in ears again a personal choice I am fine with both and use to having the opportunity to see all sides of the options here myself, the controls work well and as seen above can be customised to your needs which is great and not an out of the box default set-up which you can avail of if you wish.

When it comes to the sound it is good as a whole with the EQ settings in the app you can figure out what suits you or choose the default modes and edit from there for me these where good and well balanced overall and of course the bass for me was my choice but it is worth messing around with the settings, one thing to note if you pick game mode all these options become obsolete but you can use the device you are connected to to change that and no lag latency noted from me, calls are also fine too both ends on my testing.

Conclusion – On a budget and want a pair of earbuds that sound good offer more than others at this price there are one to put down on your list and so far one the best pair of earbuds in this price range this year.

Tech Review – STM Goods MagPod for iPhone with MagSafe

When it comes to iPhone there is more accessories than meets the eye and no shortage of them no matter the size shape or form there is plenty to pick from these days more so than Android devices it seems to be too. There is no doubt that we love our accessories and some more than others but some are more useful than others and can be handy tools for your home/office or even creators and this gadget from STM Goods kinda covers all that in a neat little package too and fits in your pocket or travel bag and will certainly be a useful tool to have for your iPhone.

The MagPod is a great idea and can be used in several ways and what’s more it is not one of those that have a fixed position like many similar products out there and has a nice rotating top that can be fixed in any position. This in effect can be used for a selfie tool or a simple holder to have your device at hand beside your workstation to keep an eye on other things going on like social media and emails etc.

MagPod keeps your phone above the mess, and just where you want it. Ever gone to put your phone down but didn’t want it getting wet, dirty, or lost in the clutter, or wished you had a better angle to view it from? MagPod to the rescue. A brilliantly engineered and beautifully designed stand for your MagSafe iPhone. The MagPod provides a convenient place for your phone to land, whether on your desk, in your kitchen, on your bathroom counter, or nestled on your nightstand.

What I like about this is its size and how it stows away which is handy and how it is constructed with a tripod on the bottom that simply opens and closes with no hassle and it is also robust too with a nice finish to it too. You can have it at multiple angles so it is easy for anyone to use and anyone to set up to get that desired final position that suits you best. With the 90 degree ball and socket joint it is a breeze to maneuver. Check the video below for more and see how useful this guy is for you at home or in the office and keeping your phone out of the way on your table and more.

Tech Review – Gravastar Venus Wireless speaker

Gravastar is a brand that gives us superior tech goods not made with cheap plastics and recently we reviewed their other speaker which is several times the size of this on the Gravastar Mars Pro but don’t let that think this one which is much smaller does not pack a punch.

Once again built with zinc alloy this one again is one to have sat in your living room or bedside locker for show as well as audio and it also has and RGB ring on the front which makes it stand out, the colours can be changed too and you have go physical buttons up top which controls all the functions on this cool little gadget. It is that small it can be portable too if you wish to bring it on your travels.

Venus, a smart and dexterous warrior of GravaStar, full of passion and energy. He fights together in a troop, coordinating and striking enemies down as one.

There is rubber footing underneath the three feet that keep it stable and it will not move anyway due to the build quality and weight unlike speakers traditionally housed in plastic or wood. There is just a cool futuristic design here overall and really a nice piece to have.

When it comes to sound again this packs a punch for its size you will see below in the video review just how loud it gets and how it functions so check out the video below for a real hands on look. highs lows and mids are fine nice bass and overall a great audio experience to be had here whilst looking really cool.

Tech Review – Benks InvisiBoost Charger with Freezemat Technology for iPhones with MagSafe

It is iPhone season and with the new iPhone 14 just here Benks have launched a cool new next generation product to charge your device in a new way with new technology on board and only that this new device can be used as a stand for your iPhone too which makes it quite handy offering to solutions in one and is compatible with all iPhones that have MagSafe built in.

InvisiBoost Wireless Charger that charges iPhone 40% faster than Apple MagSafe charger. The trick lies in the Freezemat, a self-replenishing hydrogel that absorbs water from the air and carries out the heat through evaporation.
This is just the beginning! A Freezemat ecosystem is on the way and it will be applied on phone case, MacBook, Switch, VR wearables and more.
Having tested this out for a few days it does charge the iPhone faster from my testing and is a simple product to use that is executed rather well and looks cool.. There is multiple products out there today on the market to charge your iPhone which we have tested here but this one just works well looks well no overheating noted and serves as a stand.

Freezemat is a bionic smart polymer material – a temperature sensitive hydrogel. The material can mimic the thermoregulation mechanism of living organisms, and take away heat through evaporation. By evaporating away the heat, it actively replenishes the moisture in the air and circulates heat dissipation.

The test is conducted with iPhone 13 Pro.

Using Apple’s official certified module makes charging more reliable and efficient. Using the new heat dissipation material Freezemat, it effectively reduces the heat generated by the charger during the wireless charging process, and promises your phone a more stabilized performance when in intensive use. In the long term, this helps preserve the phone battery health.

Besides, InvisiBoost’s wireless charging is up to 30%* faster than the charging efficiency of a typical wireless charger for the first hour.

Features of the InvisiBoost Wireless charger include
A. It charges up to 40% faster than Apple charger. With improved charging efficiency, it helps preserve the phone battery health.
B. World’s First Heat Cooling Hydrogel. With innovative material, Freezemat, a breakthrough temperature-sensitive hydrogel that can circulate heat dissipation for a cooler and faster charging. The hydrogel harvests water molecules in the air to stay replenished and evaporate the heat away within the charger.
Benks Invisiboost for iPhones with MagSafe – techbuzzireland

C. In the process of applying for Made for MagSafe, the certification should be ready in September.
D. Meet the sustainable consumerism as the Freezemat is self-replenishing without energy consumption. We care for the planet.
E. The kickstand can be useful when placing your phone on the desktop
F. We will combine this innovative material with battery pack, GaN charger or more in the Benks future lineups to help with
better smart devices heat dissipation.
