Only recently Jabra announced their latest product the connect 5t and we now have them here in the hand, the design language here is familiar which is fine and looks fine inside their product portfolio. The great thing here is you get a wireless charging pad with your earbuds which is certainly a first for me to see in the massive collection of earbuds I own and will make life easier, not only that you can charge as normal with USB-C.
The Connect 5t, based on the recently announced Elite 5 earbuds, lets you stay connected to two devices at once, like a laptop and a smartphone, with its Bluetooth Multipoint feature. For Android or Windows users, the Google Fast Pair and Microsoft Swift Pair will connect the earbuds in seconds, allowing effortless switching and manoeuvring. With Spotify Tap playback, all the music the user could ever wish for is accessible on tap.
Features
6-mic technology – Clear calls for virtual meetings
Hybrid Active Noise Cancellation – Blocks out surrounding noise for better concentration
Smart connectivity options – Connect to two devices at one time with the Bluetooth Multipoint connection and enjoy Google Fast Pair and/or Microsoft Swift Pair to be connected in seconds. Spotify Tap gives easy on tap access to music
Up to 7 hours battery, 28 hours with the case – All-day work calls. Wireless charging pad included
6mm speakers – Ensures rich, satisfying sounds in and out of office hours
Hands-free voice assistants – Google Assistant* and Alexa built-in for hands-free assistance on-the-go
Google have launched their first official watch which is of course smart and the same applies to the watch as did the phone and any tech we do not do leaks for clicks we wait for the product to be in our hands for assessment and the day has come us to check it out.
I have many smartwatches here as our readers know and a fan for several reasons, it keeps you off your phone more you can do things from the watch if required to do so and get on without the need to take your phone out of your pocket and this was a conversation I had with Nokia mobile here in Dublin last week with some of their feature phones and the same applies to a watch whereby it is less distracting and you can chose to ignore or reply to emails and social etc which is also good for the mental health I think..
Now with this offering from Google it appears to be a fitness orientated watch on top of being smart at the same time and as we know they bought fitbit and fitbit did not cut it offering more for the user but was heavy on the fitness end of things and was more a product for people into fitness but with not much other functionality which I understand, different strokes for different folks and all that but this has changed somewhat.
Again there has been commentary on this watch which I chose to ignore and make my own assessments and so far it has been more so on the bad side, again form folks who typically pick on Google and do not have the product in hand and snuff the idea of its existence which is fine don’t get me wrong but it is down to the hands on experience after all and what the product does isn’t it?
Check the video below for more and if you have any questions drop em in the comments
The Google Pixel 7 has arrived and once again we avoided all the leaks and wait until the device is in our hands to see for ourselves what is on offer and still using the Pixel 6a which I am loving it is time to see what the new member of the family has to offer, being a pixel user from their first ever device these are phones that stay in my hands longer than others as I have an entire Google ecosystem at home and it all works very seamlessly.
There is some cool new features of course with the new device and once again makes live simple, some we have seen before and enhanced and there is an argument over which device is better value for money with the price, we have a bumped up Tensor chip G2 which is their own inhouse chip.
We have a 6.3 inch Oled screen with 416 PPI, 1400 nits and 2400 X 1080 panel, A 90hz refresh rate here which is a bit disappointing some will say as it is the new buzzword but for me it is no huge deal being honest having used and own devices with 120hz refresh rate for the most I have has to point this out and show people and not really a deal breaker to be frank but others would disagree and nitpick like we always see for Google devices at launch bit no so loud on iPhone shortcomings and I own an iPhone 14 pro which so far has been pretty much the same as before, having said that it is a tech cycle and we often see a small jump in specs and then companies calling old things new and then features arriving later and so on and claiming they are new, you know how it goes and often it is funny how they take each other off on social media. Banter never did anyone any harm.
The rear has changed to a metal visor style this time and for the better and one piece with a 50MP camera that comes with OIS 12MP ultra wide and but no telephoto camera, the front camera is 10.8 MP and as we know Google has done cameras very well over the years even with a single lens option. There is new features here like Cinematic blur which and face unblur and for that you can tidy up some old photos but we will see more on that in the full review later on. We also have 4K 60fps which is plenty in my eyes, currently I have a phone that shoots in 8K which is pointless today. You will need to update the app because it will keep crashing until you do. Also note the Pixel watch app will need to be installed.
The battery again is of course another feature people often speak about which comes in at 4355mAh and smaller than last years which was 4614mAh if my memory serves me right so it will be interesting to see how that fair out in our testing, there is new features to come to the Pixel 7 later down the road.
Today we take a tour of the Pixel 6 and have a look at the UI and see what is there and check out the phone in general as we always do here and let you see what it is all about and if you have any questions feel free to ask, we only have the device in our hands for 3 days and so far so good but it takes more than that to give an honest review which we will have in a few weeks and a better assessment loaded with all the apps for example and any updates that arrive in the interim and see how it gets on and I expect to see good things going forward as always and we will report them here and if there is any shortcomings but for the price it looks like another winner and is the pro version worth the extra 250 euro they ask??
Also stay tuned for some case reviews and more for the Pixel 7 coming soon from our other partners.

Nokia Mobile (HMD Global) held an event recently in Dublin where we go to see the latest on offer from the brand which sent a clear message about being eco friendly and also being sustainable with a nice portfolio of products on show and with some more to come soon. W enow have the Nokia G60 5G in house to test out and see what this device has to offer..
The device is super light to hold and has a pleasing screen to look at and despite its size it sits well in the hand even though it has a crafted 100% recycled plastic back and 60% recycled plastic frame. The 6.58” FHD+ 120Hz display for super-smooth scrolling and a 50MP AI triple camera array on the rear that does not have a huge hump like others on the market today.
Today we take a look at the device before we take it for a test run and if you order now you can claim a free speaker from Three
The Nokia G60 5G comes in Pure Black or Ice Grey and is available in 4/64 GB and 4/128 GB memory and storage configurations starting at RRP of 309 EUR and 329 EUR
VR was once a thing then died off over the last few years, I was a huge fan and had a huge collections of headsets from all brands and still today have some here which have not been really used that much in fairness, I remember when VR was a thing and we covered lots of news and headsets then I just seemed to fade away. Here is the thing though it has been still growing in the background for different applications with some companies but as for the consumer end a different story, I have from time to time took a headset out and this one was in a different league a the time which was for education and was really cool from Veative VR and I was lucky to test this here in Ireland and the only one to do so.
Sony has a new VR headset coming out next year which I can’t wait for and it is welcome in my book and hopefully add to the revival of VR AR and of course we await something from Apple pretty soon to which some will say it will kickstart the industry just like their 5G phones didn’t and we all know how 5G is at the moment, depending where you reside of course but as for Ireland it has not been a hit and will not be for some time yet and event though 5G phones at the start where expensive and far and few between that has changed but the uptake in 5G has not and I wonder if the same thing will apply here for Augmented and Virtual reality.. Point being sony made it a bit more affordable for those to access a great VR experience but has so much wires and set-up a pain but was a step up from what Samsung offered and Sony already had hardwear out there for millions to access and cheaper than the other high end offering s back then like HTC VIVE for example.
I still have my note 4 and the Samsung Gear VR headset today, Samsung did it really well with not having to have an expensive system to drive it (if you had a compatible phone that is) and was affordable which is akin to this headset which just requires a Facebook account to login which some sniff at but ask the same some do they use social media at all which is hypocritical all the same but having said that I get it when it comes to data but as it always has been and will be for the foreseeable future YOU are the product like it or not and of course if you choose to use such hardware and we all know how Facebook do things.
So for me I have two Facebook accounts and chose my websites one to use the device and login etc I did have an Oculus account before obviously with Samsung VR and did not care, today though a different matter. Data is a big thing but you are the product and that is a fact end of story..
Anyway moving on this headset I have a while and have been to busy with work the site and personal matter to actually test this out so I had some time to have a quick look and test it out recently and I like what I see apart from paying for lots of content, it has took me back to the Samsung VR times and would rate this headset slightly better considering you do not need any additional expensive hardwear just to run it, will the novelty wear off? Give me a few weeks and let me see and if it is worth the near 500 euro price tag to buy and ask any questions you might have over on the YouTube channel where we give you a hands on approach and not the lazy stock image one with no context as there is many today who still have not even tried the VR experience and even now I have showed some friends and they have been impressed but some felt dizzy.
There is several devices to drop by over the next while but a new brand has landed today and some may be familiar with the name ZTE they make really cool devices and I always will remember one phone the had that had a projector built in called the ZTE spro at one of the IFA conferences some time ago back in Malta. Skip a few years and the brand has really come up in the ranks but not sold on the Irish market like many brands abroad would.
We have one of their latest phones to check out over the next few weeks and will be taking it on a trip to do a vlog very soon and I look forward to seeing how those cameras perform alongside the device as a whole and form having it a few days now it is certainly a powerhouse and for a power user it is right up my street so far.
You can check out more on the device here but today we take a first look at the device and go through the UI and see what is on offer and there is plenty on offer on this phone between the display the refresh rate the batter and the camera features and it will be interesting to see how this does as a daily driver for a while, I do carry two devices most of the time now and it can be a pain but hey it is all fun and great to see and test what is on offer and we will have more on this phone over the coming weeks so if you have any questions feel free to ask as usual.
Yes I went and did it, got another Apple Watch and this time the SE starlight 44mm. I am looking at the Ultra down the road however have seen none in stores yet and want to see just how big it looks on the wrist rather than stock image reviews or photos. As for the SE I think will be popular and good value for money and for those who have yet to jump into the smartwatch game no matter what OS your prefer the entry level offerings are probably best to begin with. Given Apple is more expensive than others this is a decent smartwatch at a decent entry price however probably too high for many which I agree with, I have come down from the Apple Watch 7 series to try it out and so far so good for my needs.
Not going to bore you with the specs but today I just take a first look and unboxing of the new Apple Watch SE and the set-up process which is quite simple as with anything Apple is and if you need to know some more feel free to drop your thoughts in the comments on our YouTube channel and stay tuned for more on the Apple iPhone 14 pro and the watch as we have accessories to check out in the coming weeks.
