So myself and Johnnie Bell have been good friends now for nearing 13 years. I went to play school with him so I’m nearly sick of him at this stage! During last year we set up our first business together called JC-Learn. This is an online study resource for JC students which is now expanding into the Leaving Cert.
Obviously JC-Learn is really only active during the school year so the summer had us a little bit bored. I did a few websites and marketing for small businesses but then when we both saw the Pokemon go craze kick off we knew we had to jump on it somehow. It was always in the back of my mind to create an ecommerce store just to widen the portfolio and I was searching for products. I then thought of a Pokemon go themed store. Obviously Pokemon go is just a fad so we didn’t want to completely brand as Pokemon go. The name Tech4Go gives us be ability to change over ‘trend’ as we like to call it.
When we saw the Pokemon go case we immediately knew it would be massive so decided this to be the first product. We are currently in the process of increasing our product range to include Pokemon themed power banks, normal phone cases and a few other things which we can’t release yet!
We actually set up the business without even meeting face to face with each other. I thought of the Pokemon idea standing in line getting on to a plane to Bulgaria and by the time I landed in Dublin after 2 weeks we had already made our first sale.
We don’t handle any of our goods as all of our products are drop shipped directly by the manufacturers which makes our job extremely easy!

In recent times we have seen plenty of scams in the form of vouchers,It wont be the last nor will it cease anytime soon but the latest voucher giveaway is from Boots. Again the same trick email saying you have won a €100 voucher and then you click a few links and get a giftcard, Sadly its not true so just delete the email and do not click on any link within the said email…
Again this time round they have a period of claim time to try coax you into the so called voucher,If you receive such a mail check the senders details where you will quickly find that is not from Boots at all… The header in the mail will of course say boots but view the details of the sender and you will spot it.. In a email sent by a reader today as we are not a Vodafone customer you are getting a price hike.. the good news is you can exit contract with no penalty.. Should you want to….but people will complain.
“Dear Customer, We are writing to inform you of some changes to your Vodafone Home broadband service that will come into effect on 1 August.
Due to increased operational costs your monthly payment for your broadband plan will increase by €35 to €40. In addition, we have updated some of the terms and conditions associated with your broadband plan and these terms will apply from 1 August 2016. These updated terms can be found here.
These changes will come into effect on 1 August 2016 and will be reflected in any bills issued thereafter.
As a result of these changes, you may change or cancel your contract without penalty within 30 days from the date of this letter by dialling 1907.”
