ClickUp Announces the Opening of New Dublin Office Following European Expansion

ClickUp, the productivity platform that brings work together in one place, was joined by Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney TD today, to officially open its new Dublin office. The company opened its EMEA HQ in Dublin in 2021 but quickly exceeded capacity following a European expansion last year. Located in the heart of Dublin, the new office will accommodate local employees and is designed with the future of work in mind. Workers will have access to configured workstations, a large conference room, and dedicated collaboration spaces.

The new European HQ will bring together ClickUp’s sales, success, support, and solutions engineering teams to deliver outcomes for more than 575,000 teams in the EMEA region that trust ClickUp to make their teams more productive.

ClickUp’s EMEA team is made up of about 200 people, with 75 of these employees based in Ireland. The company expects to hire hundreds more EMEA team members across various departments, including marketing, business development, sales, customer success, and professional services by the end of 2025.

ClickUp continues to grow its European customer base so building a local team to support those customers has become a key business priority. To that end, ClickUp is also expanding its German, French, and Spanish-speaking teams in Dublin to better service its users.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Simon Coveney says: “I’m pleased to welcome ClickUp’s expansion announcement and that they have chosen Dublin for their EMEA Headquarters, providing office space for more than 40 staff. We pride ourselves on the environment we have created to help ambitious multinationals like ClickUp thrive and avail of the skilled workforce we have to offer in Ireland. I wish the team the very best in this exciting new project and ongoing success with their European operations.”

Richard McGuinness, VP of EMEA Sales and Head of the Ireland Office says: “Opening our Dublin office shows that we are continuing to commit to delivering incredible service for our EMEA customers. The economic climate has brought uncertainty to businesses around the world. At ClickUp, we are pleased to see the fruits of our teams’ dedication and determination as we navigate through these challenges and help our customers increase their productivity and efficiency. We are looking forward to continuing to build out our EMEA team and welcoming employees and customers into our new headquarters.”

Mary Buckley, Interim CEO IDA Ireland says: “ClickUp’s new Dublin office is a testament to the strength of the Irish talent pool. The company’s growth plans signal confidence in the favourable conditions that Ireland offers high-growth companies. I wish ClickUp’s continued success over the coming months and years.”

TEKenable Downsizes its Office due to Success of Remote Working

TEKenable, the digital services company is moving to a smaller office as a result of the success of remote working.  The company has doubled in the last five years and regularly surveys employees about the culture of the organisation and to ask them about their preferred working model.  TEKenable currently employs over 160 staff and the company continues to grow.

“Prior to the pandemic, 50% of our workforce was already remote across our offices in the UK, Ireland, Hungary, Spain, UAE and the Middle East so many of our teams were set up for the format and flexible schedules were the norm”, explains Nick Connors, Group CEO, TEKenable.  “When the pandemic hit, technology was not a problem and the transition for the entire company proved so seamless that we were ready to change course and gave our employees the choice of in-house or remote working.  Remote working won out and our teams are functioning more efficiently than ever before.  It has become increasingly clear that our employees are happiest and did their best work when they had the flexibility to determine where and when they work best.”

“The requirement for attending an office was constraining growth by requiring recruitment from a specific geographic area and with Dublin in particular which meant dealing with the lack of housing or extended commute times,” adds Peter Rose, Group CTO, TEKenable.  “The biggest advantage is access to talent in places where we do not have offices and the benefit that brings.”

In the recent Great Place to Work assessment, TEKenable was recognised as the 15th Best Medium Workplace in Ireland 2023.  This is TEKenable’s first year to be named as a top Irish workplace which is based on direct feedback from employees.

“We as a company really value diversity and a people-first culture,” concludes Nick. “Our values are a part of that foundation, and things like having trust in your employees and knowing that they will make decisions that are the best balance for their life and job maximising both is part of that.”

The new, smaller office will be used as ‘conversation space’ for meetings, collaboration and events.

Tech Review – EMEET Meeting Capsule 360° Video Conference Camera with 8 Mics, Hi-Fi Speaker

When it comes to working from home or the office conference calls can be part of the daily routine and it happens quite often here with myself and having the right tools is essential to do the job at hand but how many tools do you need to get the job done, you could look at this as an all in one package though by looking at it you might not see how it works and this is what makes this piece of kit something different and quite unique and it is pretty cool too.

We have tested many conference kits here and this is the latest offering from the company who strive to give us good products at affordable prices and we use some of their kit still today and they work really well which is something to take note of.

The product itself is super robust and perhaps bigger than one would be use to having at home but maybe no the case in an office environment, it is simple to use with a remote control that is also simple to use and has all the buttons down one side of the device where there is LED status lights on the opposite site and then up top is where the magic happens the 360 degree panoramic HD camera that can be also turned off and muted like the audio when not in use.

OK so how does this work, well there is plenty of AI here involved which is pretty cool and it is a simple set-up and works cross platform and you can download some additional software if you like but there is no need to it is a plug and play product which what people like to see with no hassle to get moving. You have one cable to connect to your PC it will not work with a mobile phone  nor can you ad and external mic and you have on power cable for the device itself so it is not one of those systems that have wires for each individual at the table or product to match.

There is a cool speaker built in too which you can use during the conference calls etc or just even as a personal speaker and it has a good sound with some nice bass built in.

There is 5 modes of use here which covers all aspects.

1. Collaboration Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s collaboration mode, all attendees’ 360° panoramic picture and main 1-3 speaker’ split screens will be shown on the same screen simultaneously. In the split screen, one speaker will be tracked and displayed, and when she/he isn’t talking anymore, she/he will be removed from the screen, ensuring the new speaker becomes the next on-screen speaker. By using this mode, all participants concentrate on not only the speakers but also the listeners.2. Speech Mode

2. Speech Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s speech mode, all attendees’ 360° panorama picture and only 1 speaker’s split slide will be displayed at the same time on the screen. If the former speaker stops talking, the device will automatically center on the latter speaker. Besides, the image can be adjusted via the remote control. In a speech occasion, the conference room webcam is the best choice to deliver the speaker’s expression content.

3. Classic Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s classic mode, people in front of the 180° wide-angle device will be shown in a non-split screen. For a stabler and clearer image, the AI capturing tech is closed here. The webcam with remote control can be used to adjust the image and degree. The classic mode’s FOV (Field of View) is 180/120/60 degrees, being able to be adjusted by the remote control. The conference webcam is great for medium to large meetings.

4. Spotlight Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s spotlight mode, the conference webcam becomes a personal video conference camera, which means you can choose the part you would like to show on the non-split screen. Auto capturing tech is forbidden here for a high-definition imaging. Both remote control and eMeetLink can be used to change the FOV between 60-95 degree. You are the only one who enjoys the 3 in 1 smart video conference system in the spotlight mode.

5. In-privacy Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s privacy mode, you will enjoy both electronic privacy and physical privacy. To cut off the image transmission, the electronic 360 webcam flips the lens to 0° and the whole physical cap turns to 0°. Meanwhile, the microphone will quit picking up voice immediately. However, the 10W HIFI speaker continues to work to deliver the other side’s voice. Privacy mode is frequently used during your side’s negotiation and decision time.

Overall this is a one stop shop with less cables cameras and more for that important conference meeting be it at home or in the office and it is simple to set up and get going meaning a clutter free environment and excellent quality meetings. The cohe st might be an issue for some here but when you think about it one product can do the work of multiple here and for me this is a win and from testing with personal work meetings and so on the people at the other end agree.

Help Your Employees Work Better By Improving These Office Conditions

Are you looking for ways to increase the productivity of your team without having to invest in new technology or tools? You may be able to make a big difference simply by improving the office conditions. In this article, we will explore how making small changes to the office environment can help your employees work better and more efficiently. Read on to find out more!

How Office Conditions Can Affect Productivity

Working in a cluttered, cramped, or otherwise uncomfortable office can make it difficult to stay focused and productive. If your employees are struggling to get work done, it may be time to take a look at your office conditions and see if there are any improvements that can be made.

-Is the space well-lit? Glare from windows or overhead lights can cause eye strain and headaches, making it hard to focus on work.

-Is the temperature comfortable? Too hot or too cold can make it difficult to concentrate.

-Is the furniture comfortable and ergonomic? If employees are constantly shifting in their seats or hunched over their desks, they will likely have a harder time staying focused on their work.

-Is there enough space for everyone to move around comfortably? If people are constantly bumping into each other or tripping over things, it will create a stressful environment that makes it hard to focus.

Technology in the Workplace

Technology has drastically changed the workplace over the last few decades. Computers, the internet, and email have made it possible for employees to be more productive than ever before. Moreover, integrating functional office equipment can significantly enhance the workplace environment. Essential tools like high-quality computers and printers make a significant difference. For instance, opting for a multifunction printer for small businesses, which consolidates printing, scanning, and copying, helps minimize clutter and streamline operations. Strategically placing this versatile device in an easily accessible location not only boosts efficiency but also serves as a gathering point for informal employee interactions during print tasks.

However, technology can also be a major source of stress in the workplace. If not used properly, it can lead to distractions and interfere with productivity. Various desktop management services can help employers manage and monitor employee computer usage, allowing for greater control over how employees use technology in the workplace. Additionally, employers can provide employees with training on proper computer use, as well as policies that outline the acceptable use of technology.

Physical Environment Considerations

  1. Lighting – Make sure the lighting in your office is adequate and not too harsh. Employees need to be able to see what they’re doing, but too much light can be jarring and make it difficult to concentrate.

  1. Temperature – The temperature in your office should be comfortable for everyone. If it’s too hot or too cold, employees will likely be distracted and less productive.

  1. Noise level – Minimize noise as much as possible so that employees can focus on their work. This may mean investing in sound-proofing materials or keeping common areas such as kitchens and break rooms quiet during business hours.

Social Environment Considerations

When it comes to improving office conditions to help employees work better, there are a few key social environment considerations to keep in mind. First, take a look at the overall layout of your office space and identify any areas where employees tend to congregate. This could be near the office coffee machine or water cooler, in the break room, or even just in common areas where people can easily strike up a conversation. See if there are any ways to encourage more positive interactions in these areas by adding comfortable seating, encouraging employees to take breaks together, or providing engaging games or activities.

Improving office conditions can help employees work better and be more productive. By creating a comfortable workplace environment, providing proper equipment, encouraging collaboration and communication between teams, and offering flexible working arrangements, employers can create an atmosphere that is conducive to productivity. With careful consideration of these factors, employers can ensure their employees are able to do their best work while improving job satisfaction overall.

Jabra Elite 5: true wireless earbuds with Hybrid ANC

This latest product in Jabra’s Elite range features new Hybrid ANC technology, powered by the Qualcomm QCC3050 Bluetooth chipset. This makes the ANC less sensitive to the positioning in the ear, ensuring a more reliable noise cancellation across a wider range of frequencies.

This all-round hero is made for those needing to take calls from anywhere and is great for enjoying media during leisure. This is thanks to 6-microphone call technology with external mics that are constantly active, as well as internal mics that give your voice a helping hand when it’s windy outside.  See our review HERE

The true wireless buds are certified for leading virtual meeting platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and use the latest technology to reduce disruptive background noise and enable clearer calls.

Jabra Enhance Plus sets a new standard for bringing together the convenience of true wireless earbuds with advanced hearing technology to alleviate unaddressed hearing needs. As part of the new OTC hearing aid category and cleared by the FDA as a self-fitting hearing aid, Enhance Plus empowers millions of Americans with mild to moderate hearing loss to take the first step on their hearing health journey.

Jabra Enhance Plus delivers a 3-in-1 experience in a miniaturised true wireless form factor design, around half the size of Jabra’s smallest true wireless earbuds. It includes the calls and music functionality that users expect from true wireless earbuds and provides hearing help for users in a discreet and comfortable design.

Taking true wireless tech to new levels, the device packs four key audiological features: Warp Compressor for analysis of sounds similar to human ear, Digital Noise Reduction for keeping speech clear, Digital Feedback Suppression to keep feedback from interfering with sound quality, and Binaural Beamformer with directionality to isolate sounds.

Calum MacDougall, SVP at Jabra said, “We are delighted to be back in Las Vegas to showcase the newest products in our true wireless line-up. In the past year we have brought several unique additions to our offerings, from earbuds engineered for hybrid work to hearing enhancement earbuds in the new OTC hearing aids category. “.ZIP past” Office docs as most common malicious file type

HP Inc. has issued its third quarter HP Wolf Security Threat Insights Report, finding that archive file formats – such as ZIP and RAR files – were the most common file type for delivering malware, surpassing Office files for the first time in three years. This report provides an analysis of real-world cyberattacks, helping organisations to keep up with the latest techniques cybercriminals use to evade detection and breach users in the fast-changing cybercrime landscape.

Based on data from millions of endpoints running HP Wolf Security, the research found 44% of malware was delivered inside archive files – an 11% rise on the previous quarter – compared to 32% delivered through Office files such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The report identified several campaigns that were combining the use of archive files with new HTML smuggling techniques – where cybercriminals embed malicious archive files into HTML files to bypass email gateways – to then launch attacks.

For example, recent QakBot and IceID campaigns used HTML files to direct users to fake online document viewers that were masquerading as Adobe. Users were then instructed to open a ZIP file and enter a password to unpack the files, which then deployed malware onto their PCs.

As the malware within the original HTML file is encoded and encrypted, detection by email gateway or other security tools is very difficult. Instead, the attacker relies on social engineering, creating a convincing and well-designed web page to fool people into initiating the attack by opening the malicious ZIP file. In October, the same attackers were also found using fake Google Drive pages in an ongoing effort to trick users into opening malicious ZIP files.

“Evidently, threat actors are becoming more and more agile in their methods to break into systems and smuggle information. With the right tools to detect and eliminate any breaches, it ensures these threat actors don’t gain access to sensitive data and move throughout the system. Organisations can also use Zero Trust Principle to make sure potentially malicious tasks, like clicking on unsecure links or opening deceptive attachments, are executed in a disposable virtual machine separated from the underlying systems” explains Val Gabriel, Managing Director of HP Ireland.

HP also identified a complex campaign using a modular infection chain, which could potentially enable attackers to change the payload – such as spyware, ransomware, keylogger – mid-campaign, or to introduce new features, like geo-fencing. This could enable an attacker to change tactics depending on the target they have breached. By not including malware directly in the attachment sent to the target, it is also harder for email gateways to detect this type of attack.

HP Wolf Security runs risky tasks like opening email attachments, downloading files and clicking links in isolated, micro-virtual machines (micro-VMs) to protect users, capturing detailed traces of attempted infections. HP’s application isolation technology mitigates threats that can slip past other security tools and provides unique insights into novel intrusion techniques and threat actor behaviour. By isolating threats on PCs that have evaded detection tools, HP Wolf Security has specific insight into the latest techniques being used by cybercriminals. To date, HP customers have clicked on over 18 billion email attachments, web pages, and downloaded files with no reported breaches.

Tech Review – Konftel 800 & Ceiling Mount Kit

The Hybrid conference phone came in a neutral packing in terms of limited information on the packing but has the impressive Climate neutral products symbol on the packing.  This kit came with the Konftel 800 Ceiling Mount Kit allowing the kit flexibility in placements The kit is designed for Small to Large rooms while having the options for larger spaces or multipurpose rooms to be able to connect additional devices using the daisy-chain to increase audio capabilities. The 4.3-inch graphical LCD touchscreen display allowed for easy configurations and visual displays when the volume or mute options were used via colour changes on the kit. The kit has an additional, two mute key buttons located along the corners of the unit to allow any user to go on mute.

Previously at techbuzz Ireland, we reviewed The Konftel C2070 conferencing system, which came with a speakerphone, camera, and hub their Konftel Cam10 Ego bluetooth speakerphone and also the Cam10 webcam

Konftel 800 conference ceiling and mount kit for conference calls – techbuzzireland

Setup and use:

The Kit came with a quick user guide in terms of the setting up with outstanding diagrams to give a clear view of how to install it. The basic installation required minimal technical experience. Those of an advanced nature can refer to the web version “Installing and Administering Konftel 800” which contains  200 pages for diverse types of network installations configurations,

The conference phone can also use Bluetooth to connect to a mobile device, or a laptop as it supports Hands-Free and A2DP Bluetooth profiles. Konftel 800 uses 10/100 Mbit Ethernet and supports PoE Class 1 and Class 2 power.

Note: This kit is a Power Over Ethernet (PoE) enabled device and would require purchasing as an optional accessory if needed which Jim has a good deal of knowledge with NTP time servers when it comes to clock systems which also uses PoE in certain configurations

App:   Konftel Unite

This allows connection via your phone for One Touch Conferencing, calling from your contact list, create your conference groups. Techbuzz tested on an android device which was a standard install.

App Store

https://itunes.apple.com/app/konftel-unite/id1093774146

Google Play

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.konftel.unite

Warranty: 2 years

Overall:

The kit came in a Climate neutral packing which is always a bonus. The design while having many awards has a few personal niggles in terms of several types of screws provided for the Ceiling Mount Kit and the network cable does not have a tray to hide the cable if placed on a boardroom table as you would see on a typical phone system.

The physical connection to the network is straightforward but may require looking towards a PoE injector for power. The Ceiling Mount Kit mechanically connects easily and can easily be removed as required. Connectivity via the app or via a laptop was standard without any issues,

As a real positive the ability to connect via a smartphone easily and quickly, is great especially if the kit is being mounted, the colour changes for the mute etc are great.  The Audio quality cannot be faulted as the test carries out walking close and further back gave exceptional audio quality.

The audio quality is a result of the three microphones in the base of Konftel 800, which support 10 users in a 30 square meters room.  The audio was excellent at blocking out noise from outside of the room testing via the Smart Microphone which had built-in cancellation of echo and background noise through OmniSound.

The additional socket via daisy chain allowed for the addition of microphones to increase the conference phone coverage to seventy square meters or daisy chain three Konftel 800 devices to cover up to 90 square meters.

The kit has a few minor niggles but is a real gem in terms environmentally friendly, easy to set up and use with the options of seriously advanced features, Voip / traditional with the option to expand the impressive audio experience for any call.
