Tech Review – Kevin – Burglary prevention from Mitipi

Kevin is a different approach to home security and we mean different, on the face of it this looks like a bluetooth speaker and on the rear it looks like a lamp, In the real world it can also be used as a speaker and a lamp but the primary purpose of it is to secure your home and it also uses those features to secure it, this is a pretty clever idea and nobody would know the difference unless you told them because the light effects part faces the wall and the front speaker part faces out so it is best to say nothing here.

This is a simple plug in and play device from Mitipi that takes 5 mins or so to set up fully with all the customising involved which is not much however this only protects the room it is in so to speak so if you have one leave it downstairs, again you could leave it upstairs but in my opinion downstairs is best but you can add more to the set up if you like which is good and again they will all do the same thing from how you set it up which we go through in the video below.

Kevin comes with preset sounds or you can record your own which is fun but it is best you use the ones installed as the fun ones you could make would not be taken to seriously I dont think from clever burglars who these days do reconnaissance on houses or businesses and know who is in or out and at a given time, we show you these again below in the video and see the app screenshots.

Review – Hazel Quinn Slow Juicer

Having manzy gizmos today in your kitchen is not uncommon and for me a juicer was one thing I have had and went through a few of them in my time, now I am no juicer expert either so let me get that clear from the offset however like I said I have had a few and this one has been the simplest one I have tried and giving the best results with no lumps at the end of my glass which is disgusting in my opinion, not only that it takes the labour out of doing the work which with technology today has made people terrible lazy but this Slow juicer is a gift to use it is simple to set up simple to clean and looks great especially in this mint green colour.

It will take you literally 5 mins to get going after you read the manual so you know where you are at and after that if you are into juices you will get better lump free ones with this one and might be a better taste to them too. It is no a huge juicer either and will fit in any kitchen and requires a plug nearby, you get all you need in the box as you will see in the full video review below and you are good to go how much more simpler do you want it.

The design is nice and the unit feels robust and solid and after using it for a few weeks it has not caused any issues, I would suggest peeling skins of your Apples and Oranges though and what we have here in my house is Apple and Orange juice and sometimes carrot juice. You will see how simple it is to use via the manual and it is a very short process from putting the desired fruit into the hopper and watch the magic happen.

Tech Review – ZAGG Pro keyboard 15

Keyboards are a vital accessory for content creators journalists and more and especially those in office environments and ZAGG have announced a slew of new keyboards recently for you to check out and they are very robust and simple to use, keyboard type though is subjective to each user though as you have travel and tactility to think about, for me I typically use square keys and I use chromebooks most of the time and again keys are square and near flat on my laptops.

I have not used a standalone keyboard in years however I am changing my set-up at home to a monitor and this keyboard will fit right in after using it for a few weeks and have come to like it, This even works on a mobile phone which is great and has multipoint connection so you can use up to three devices at once which suits me perfectly right now, On one test I used my Galaxy Z flip5 and two chromebooks so moving between either is simple with the three standout blue keys up top of the keyboard, there is also and extra numeric keypad on the right which is something I have not used in years and last used on an old dell laptop which is handy for some people.

A few keys have a backlight for ease of use and the keys are perfectly sized although it did take me some time to get use to the travel and tactility but you can adjust fairly fast however I have big fingers and typing is always an issue when speed typing but that is just me but there is others out there like me.

One thing I have noticed is less fatigue on the fingers and hand after using this for some time which is valuable for someone like me who is constantly on my laptop writing tech reviews,even if not on the laptop I can use my phone which sometimes I do to get the ball moving on some things which have some urgency so if in a hotel room or travelling this keyboard works much better than the tiny keys on my phone and being a Flip phone this pair well with it.

Like I said a keyboard is subjective and or me this is the first one I have used in years and it is perfect for my needs,looks good and is robust with a super batter life and comes with wireless charging and you should check it out, check the video below for more.

EV Software Platform Monta Partners with Smartzone in Ireland to Power Home Charging Solutions

Electric vehicle (EV) charging platform Monta, today announced a partnership with Smartzone, Ireland’s first dedicated smart homes solutions company. The partnership will see Monta and Smartzone provide homeowners and charge point operators a seamless way to manage charging schedules, view consumption data and give charging access to friends, family and guests.

Monta’s announcement today comes as Smartzone aims to roll out 25,000 home charges across Ireland by the end of 2025. From today, Smartzone will automatically connect its charging points to Monta’s back-end software. This will allow Smartzone customers to view their charging history, manage access to the charge point, and set their own pricing and usage.

Commenting on the announcement, Ricky Hill, Country Manager for Monta in Ireland said: “Monta is delighted to partner with Smartzone to help deliver a better, simpler EV user experience for the Irish market. Our combined software and infrastructure solutions will mean charge point operators can manage their installs all under one roof, while EV drivers will benefit from a much-improved user experience via our seamless app. We’re looking forward to helping Ireland complete its journey towards a greener future and help the Government achieve its plans as set out under the recently announced EV strategy.”

This can swivel from the base and again something you do not see too often and is more a fixed option you tend to find in stores etc and this can also be folded away which means portability again unlike others which are again a fixed alternative and makes it ideal to fit in your travel bag or bring it to your office or even have on your bedside locker giving you easy access to whatever device you may use and for me I could also put my chromebook on it and it remains super stable and another way it can be used and nicely raised and easy to access and use as normal if working on two laptops at a time which can be the case.

Top top it off it allows heat dissipation on the back unlike other stands which would be a solid piece so what is there not to like about this? Check out the video below for more.
