Discover #RemixOS 2.0, Android for your PC By @VicenteA_George #Android #PC #OS

For quite a time now we’ve had Chrome OS the system used to run Android on a PC like environment.

But sometimes it feels short when competing against monsters like Windows or Mac OS  and then is when this newly additions enters the scene.

Discover Remix OS 2.0

What is it?

Is an Android based operating system, design to offer the best of both worlds, the almost unlimited selection of app the Google Play Store has at your disposal and a almost full desktop experience you’ve dreaming of.

Remix OS has it all:

  • True Multitasking
  • A Taskbar
  • A Notifications Center
  • Full Keyboard commands
  • A working Right-click
  • A File Manager
  • Full suite of Google Play apps
  • Future software Updates

This OS has being developed by the Jide team, previously known for making pretty good Android tablets and its built upon the Android x86 initiative.

And they have made a pretty impressive system, worth notice! This is not a public software, although is available for everyone from Jide’s page, for the moment is meant for developers as is still on “Alpha”.

But if you’re interested on this, you’ll be able to dual boot Windows/Mac and “Android” on you PC, the best part of it is that you can even install the OS on a pendrive us booted up directly from there!

On Remix OS you’ll have two offerings, the well known Google Play Store and their own “Remix Store” for full compatible apps.

Everything on the OS looks really well design, but has a strong influence from Microsoft’s Windows 10 like the Notification Tray

All future software updates will hit the place you have destined for it, and it’ll run on most PCs without a particular OS version needed it, which is pretty awesome.

Obviously this desktop software attempt is really solid, but is has the occasional bugs and it won’t replace you current fully working (in most cases) OS.

Are you interested in try it out?  you can go over HERE

If you do, please let us know in the comment section, or tweet us using #techbuzzireland

Stay tuned for more.

Samsung Galaxy Note 5 unboxing from Ireland #Samsung #GalaxyNote5 #Unboxing

The Samsung Galaxy Note 5 has arrived and its took its design from the Galaxy S6 line up,,This however did not bode to well with fans of the Note range due to the lack of a removable back cover and no option to expand memory but this is a trend that is growing and something we may have to adapt to,with cloud storage been pushed more so now many are not sold on the idea but it is growing and find myself using it now more so than before..

The device is nice to hold in hand though much more comfortable than the old versions due to its curved edges which sit nicely in hand, also we have a fingerprint sensor on the home key which also doubles as a camera key which requires a double tap to activate the main camera which is 16MP and shoots really nice photos..

The Note 5 alongside its siblings the Galaxy S6 range all look quite alike and internally the software and UI remains the same, the Note 5 however has seen its battery size been reduced from previous iterations, this is now at 3000 mAh but the Note 4 had 3220 mAh which is a step back especially in 2016, A 3000 mAh battery for a powerful phone such as the Note 5 is a little underwhelming and something that is a tad annoying considered its past versions.

Check out the unboxing below and excuse us for the poor voice,a tad under the weather and any questions feel free to ask us here or on Twitter..

There is several companies whom we have mentioned here before that can offer a gold-plating service for your mobile devices,People who get it done usually are real enthusiasts ,have nothing else to do with their money or just want something different than anyone else and there is no harm in that at all…

Dash-Cam boom sparked by savvy drivers saving on insurance. #DashCam #Insurance

Sales of dash-cams are booming as savvy drivers purchase them to get a cut in insurance and protect themselves against the alarming increase of “crash for cash” scams.A growing number of insurance companies (UK)are cutting the cost by 10 per cent or more for those who have a dash cam in their cars as some insurance companies have reported up to 50 per cent of their fraudulent claims are due to deliberate crashes.

Dash cams are now popping up in local petrol stations and stores such as Lidl and Aldi and more and they are now much cheaper than they have once been selling for,of course the same theory applies, you get what you pay for,but they are a worthy investment and can also capture more than you might expect or unexpect..

Recently, the number of dash cams sold at Argos have increased by 35 per cent month-on-month. Dash Cams have become affordable with prices starting from €36.49 which has also boosted sales.

Dash-cams can film either the road in front or both ahead and behind. They are wired into the car so they automatically turn on and start recording when the car is started. Cameras can be powered by a cable plugged into the cigarette lighter. Dash-cams have built-in memory and record on a continuous loop, so when the storage is full it will record over the oldest footage.

Argos sat nav buyer Hannah Coy said: “There has been a significant rise in sales of dash cams. Some insurance companies are offering a cut of 10 per cent or more in insurance to those who have a dash cam.

“The huge increase in the number of deliberate crashes has also led to people wanting to protect themselves against scams and to be able to prove their innocence.”

Is this the worlds fastest battery charger? Meet #Cindr #Charging #Kickstarter

There seems to be plenty of new arrivals to the charging market and all are unique in their own respect and of course welcome, battery anxiety is still a problem and will be for some time as mentioned in similar articles,a few people at CES have been in touch with us and want us to share what they have to offer,so we will give a few samples over the coming days of what we find worthy….

Fully charge the compact Cindr pack in 3 minutes and get enough juice to fully recharge most cell phones + lifespan of 5,000 cycles sounds good???

The Cindr battery pack is a rechargeable cell phone battery pack you charge from an AC wall outlet. It works like most conventional cell phone battery packs except it charges VERY FAST.

Cindr differs from fast charge battery packs that use very large batteries in order to achieve fast charge capability. The magic is in the cell technology of the battery itself. A special titanium based chemistry that was developed for super-fast charging and discharging applications. The electrode in the Cindr battery is based on titanium oxide, a type of ceramic, engineered to handle fast charging that would damage and pose extreme danger if applied normal lithium batteries.

See how it works..

From a single 3 minute charge, Cindr can charge most iPhone products to 100%, and can bring most other smartphones to a relatively high state of charge. Cindr is fast, portable, and will last forever, but the cost for these features is capacity. We have made Cindr to a size we feel is an optimal balance of size, weight, cost, with features to meet the needs of many customers. The following chart shows how much Cindr can charge some of the most popular smartphones on the market today.

In around 5 minutes Cindr is fully charged for even more available energy.   If your smartphone or other device is not listed, and you are interested in knowing how much charge Cindr can render, you can use the iPhone 6 as a standard unit of measurement.  With just a little math, you can compare the capacity of your device with that of the iPhone 6, which is 1810mAh, and multiply the ratio as: (your phone mAh/1810mAh)*103% = % charge for your device.

Think its a good idea or something you would require?  Head over and support the team at Kickstarter.

Roc’Kit :The Fastest, Cable-less Micro Power Bank. #Charging # Rockit #Indiegogo

Battery anxiety will not be going away any time soon but there is always solutions there in the interim to help us along,Sure we are now seeing devices beefing up the battery and all that but typically these are on the bigger devices sporting 5 inches or more which in the long run does not completely solve the problem,In the real world we spend more time on our devices now more than ever for browsing, social media and also eCommerce is now seeing a boom on our mobiles, all of this coincides with statistics pointed out by many in the media.

There is a multitude of products now available on the market today but convenience wins,we do not want bulk, pricey or odd looking accessories if we do carry around such items,We have featured several of the aforementioned before and also spoke on RTE with the consumer show last year on ways to tackle the above but until battery limits are more reasonable we are stuck with what is on offer today which is not a bad thing regardless.
