Samsung’s keynote was one of the most unexpected yesterday at CES and they did what they do best, impress everyone with something unexpected.
The Galaxy TAB line is really well known by now, keeping Android on the tablet market for a while. But this time though the Galaxy line has seen a step in other direction.
Meet the Galaxy Tab Pro S
And as you can see its looking like a Surface Pro.
The new slate from Samsung runs on Windows 10 OS and they claim to have a “truly powerful 2-in-1”
The device itself is 6.3 mm thin and has 693 gm making it easily portable, also the TAB Pro S comes with a full sized keyboard cover with a built in kickstand and touchpad.
Packs a gorgeous 12 inch 2K Super AMOLED display which will boost the 5,200 mAh battery lasting, one accordingly to Samsung should go up to 10.5H and can be fully charge in just 2.5H
Also it comes with the Intel Core M processor with 4GB of RAM and either 128GB or 256GB of storage, and is the first Windows tablet to come with LTE Cat 6 support.
This is just one of the many announcements we’ll see this week, so stay tuned for more #CES2016 coverage
Our last lookback and some old Nokia devices was the 1800 from 2010 this goes back two more years to 2008,again featuring a coloured screen the 1680 classic was dubbed a feature phone and had little going for it compared to what you can get now for the same money, the colour screen though was the in thing back then and no matter how small the screen,we all wanted coloured screens…
The 1680 had similar options to the 1800 even with the 1800 two year older..A 1.85 inch screen, radio even a camera this time round albeit a VGA 0.3 MP,the 1680 even had internet via WAP and a staggering 11MB of internal memory with NO sd card option,so we had to be careful of storage…
A few Nokia devices landed at our office and these are untouched and have never been used so we decided to do a little feature, beginning with the Nokia 1800 which was announced late November 2009 and launched in 2010 and for a cheap small phone it had several features that sufficed many people back then,in fact the same suits many today,,
The 1800 was a feature phone with a colour display, stated as large on the packaging today you would laugh at that term considered how far we have come since then and how fast technology has changed and a small screen like this simply would not cut it for a main daily driver today..
The 1800 has features like a 1.8 inch screen with 114 ppi,and a radio,it had no camera,no sd card support and basically it was the colour screen that the 1800 had going for it…Ohhh and not forgetting it had a flash light which then was cool…
Check out the unboxing and image gallery below and watch out for more soon…
LG have announced to mid tier devices and perhaps not what some where hoping for but looking for follow ups to the likes of the G4 and so on…However LG have turned a corner in the last two years and delivered some fantastic devices which shadows their former years, one thing though is availability and with Irish networks ignoring such devices we just have to rely on third party sellers and so on…
LG K Series smartphones will be the first to offer LG’s glossy pebble design language, a contemporary, stylish look with a curved, modern finish aimed at a younger audience. The glossy pebble design is complemented by LG’s new 2.5D Arc Glass for a smooth and seamless style that could only be made possible due to the sides of K Series smartphones being free of button clutter. With design cues borrowed from nature, the K10 and K7 look far more expensive and exclusive than they really are.
This year was great for gadgets that boost up our productivity on he go, like the IPad Pro, the stunning Surface Book and last but not least the Surface Pro 4 which was unveiled earlier this year and you can see our full coverage here.
But back then it wasn’t available everywhere to buy but today we received the news that is going to be officially available in India as soon as next week on January 7th
As you can see after all the wait is finally going to happen for our Indian readers the very next week.
There’s no word about full prices and available along the country but as a far as we know the “lower 128GB an Intel Core m3 with 4GB RAM model” could go for Rs. 67,999 and the powerhouse variant with 256GB an Intel Core i7 and 16GB of RAM could go for somewhere around Rs. 1,32,99 which means the other variants are going to be in between these prices.
The Surface Pro line is a well known productivity tool and made ir widely available is great, paired with Windows 10 this thing is a beast.
From consuming media to full work presentations the Surface Pro 4 packs everything you could need in a beautiful portable size.
We’ll bring more info once the day comes, but till then, let us know! Will you pick one for yourself? Sound below in the comments or Tweet us using #techbuzzireland
Apparently the more we want to avoid it the more common they get but let’s face it, even when not all of us are fan of these sometimes they come in handy like when you’re with a large group of friends or simply want to showcase the place where you and your wife are spending the honeymoon.
Well the solution could be here already, meet StikBox the 2-in-1 case and Selfie Stick.
This beautiful design case has a secret but useful purpose, the patron that can be seen on the back is in fact allows you to have a full length selfie stick with you all the time.
How do this works? Simple! Just pull the rails, rotate the phone, adjust the camera and that’s it!
The Full aluminum rail will hold the phone secure while you take your photo.
This whole idea is brilliant but needs your help to become a reality, right now the project can be found on a Kickstarter campaign that still has a month to go and already has backed almost half of what they need.
There are several options to choose from with all of them offering the StikBox in different combinations, of color and quantity.
The case is just 0.6 inches deep and the case fully contains the 28.3-inch stick that also acts as kickstand for viewing content on the when your hands are full.
So as you can see is a pretty great idea, which can be seen during CES 2016 as the guys are going to be there showcasing their product.
So quoting the CEO of the company Yekutiel Sherman “why carry two things, when you can carry one?”
The case was made with Iphone in mind but due to a high demand of their product they are going to make it also available for the Galaxy S6 / S6 Edge too.
This has been the year of budget but powerful devices, like the One Plus X or the Moto X 2015
But, what is a truly “bang for buck”? For me is that device that offers the best specs possible within the smaller price tag, and this time that gadget seems to have come from India
Meet the Yu Yutopia
The Yutopia was officially unveiled last week and right now is exclusive to Amazon India, offering and really attractive price and outstanding specs
But don’t take my word, look for yourself

If you want to take another look you can go here: Yutopia
What do you think of this new trend of budget but awesome phones? Will you get the Yutopia if you have the chance?
The Nokai Lumia 830 special edition has landed and there is nothing new about this device apart from that its hard to get and that the external colour is all thats changed, everything else has remained the same internally including its optics and,the packaging also has nothing extra either. So here is just a quick unboxing and comparison of the original 830 vs its Gold brother which looks rather well….
Below is a video and the we have some side by side images of both devices.Any questions just fire away…
Hoverboards – Not really boards that hover but something you self balance on are the in thing these days and I must admit they look cool, cool as they may seem there is too many safety concerns now with them and perhaps people should wait a little longer until some more stringent testing is done to ensure they are fully safe and pass all standards..
Yes it may sound like a bit of a bah-humbug situation though the safety of your child and home is probably a bit more important right?
Up until now several have been banned and removed from stores and websites around the globe and its becoming more prevalent each day and amid safety concerns big retailers like Amazon and Argos have ceased to sell some models of the latest craze… Recently The Competition and Consumer Protection Commission have also seized some 1400 units amid safety concerns, these hover-boards are also not cheap standing at around €350 or thereabouts heading north model dependent..
Argos stated
“They take customer safety “extremely seriously” and have decided to undertake “additional testing” on the Nevaboard gadget. While we undertake these checks, we have temporarily withdrawn the Nevaboard from sale”
Argos also said if you have any fears or worriers people can get a refund immediately..
The issues to date seem to be plugs, flex, batteries internals whilst nothing specific, its something to think about as many folk would have purchased either online or via market and should be aware at least. This is not to say there are boards available without issues but the problem is there and a concern..
