#Review Is this the biggest badass case for the Galaxy S7? Check out #Punkcase Metallic

Cases come in all sizes,builds and design,It is safe to say nothing like this has passed our hands and we have reviewed more than enough cases for the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge to date. Welcome Punkcase Metallic to the review section,Is it the biggest and baddest? We think so given the minor caveats though overall we cant complain really..

Lets get one thing straight,this case is big,its bulky and its heavy…..Are you out already??? No lets take a look then….

With a spec sheet to match a high end smartphone when it comes to cases this has lots to offer.

The packaging screens goodness front and back with specs Ballistic Bezels – Impact Turrs and so on with corning gorilla glass to boot and more its got everything including a lanyard strap for those who still use them,Given that you would want a hard neck for this bad boy….

Cons 

Heavy – Big – Cumbersome  – You need to screw it together.

Pros

Ports covers – Rubberised internals – Rubberised outer layer and protection all round and protective glass..

My thoughts

Its big so lets put that aside for now,People say size matters this will add bulk to your device but having said that it will protect it that is a given and big in this case might not all be that bad to be fair,The fact its big might be an issue for some but it is comfortable to hold to be fair very comfortable actually but more so for the folks with big hands..

Installation took about a minute which is not bad,we all have become use to just slapping on a cover in less than a second and thats fine,this requires some work and comes in several sections but the process is easy just requiring the provided allen key and 6 screws its simple,nothing to it..

The buttons actually work well too,I was not expecting them to be perfect but they worked a treat,not stiff and they had good travel,this goes for all of them. On placing the device face or back down you will also find you are fully protected either side,especially the front with the raised bezels and corning glass protector built in..

The ports is where issues might arise,The headphone socket and Micro USB port are buried deep but there is room cutout inside though some headphone sockets and cable might be an issue,this to be fair even happens with some regular cases and we wont mention names here.. Another thing is the speaker grille which is entirely covered up and as mentioned in the video there may be some sound loss but it worked fine to be honest and not really any distortion noticed so happy out here in that department if you are one to listen to music on your device via the speaker,On testing phone calls etc it was loud enough not to miss…

On using the device it did take a few mins to become custom to the thickness though but as mentioned before it was a comfortable experience,with silicon surrounding the outer casing all the way around and a pad on the back it was like using a small tablet but you get use to it,The screen sensitivity too was not an issue with swiping either direction,up down or just typing it all went smoothly,again I was not expecting it so all in all a good experience with no loss of functionality..

Overall the case was impressive albeit bigger than what we are use too and given the time to set it up its worth it,it was a comfortable experience but it wont be for everyone,small handed folks especially unless you have used big devices before you will however get comfortable quickly….

Empire Case – #Review – MPERO slim shock case review for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. #Tech

To simplify this review its pretty easy,The cases are a simple and in our review units clear….. Simple but effective,they do the job they have been made to do which is give your device some form of protection,However with the Galaxy S7 edge this was always going to be an issue without going to any extremes bar one case we have which does just that..

These are simple TPU cases which have shock absorption throughout and on a personal level I prefer this gel type case over hard shells,hard shells seem to just divert the shock elsewhere whereas the gel case does absorb,over testing so many cases this is my theory anyway and from the amount of cases tests I have conducted I am qualified to have this opinion,which we are all entitled to..

The cases are clear and flexible and comfortable to hold and grip is one strong point here,style though lacks compared to others and some just like that simple effect and again some prefer to have a nice design,I would be between both here and have the choice of both.

When it comes to functionality the keys all worked perfectly fine and not stiff,Some cases can give that feeling of the need to press harder when new which can be expected but these cases worked fine out of the pack,all ports are easily accessible and no issues here either,camera and flash areas again covered giving just enough room to place flat on a surface,On the front though the four corners are raised  slightly a,lowing the device to be placed face down comfortably..

The cases colours we had are see through which means you cans till see your natural device colour but being transparent with any case means longevity is an issue as to how long it can retain from going off colour, A wipe of a cloth now and then will suffice in the interim but I can see people holding on to cases that are discoloured for long,but for the price you really cant complain $8.99 with free shipping worldwide. This is from the slot series armor range…Packaging again here same as previous case we reviewed sporting the case,wipes and a screen protector which is a welcome extra in the pack..

The same sentiment here with this case can be felt with the last one we did which is excellent,giving the user a solid grip in hand knowing the device will be protected,The case does not add much bulk to the device yet makes it more solid. Ports again were precise and to the point and no interference was found with using Micro USB cable or headphones,the speaker too also muffle free and not blocked which is great. With two areas,top and bottom sporting a dimpled effect ads some grip in the hand and on a flat surface also giving the camera and flash area ample leeway from getting harmed. The device can also be placed face down with a lip surrounding the whole of the front screen again leaving you feeling safe,lots of us like to place our device face down for some odd reason,myself included..  Overall the case again was great and is more than sufficient and not forgetting the screen protection provided in the packaging its a cheap price to pay rather than paying for a new screen or housing.. Review – Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge clutch series from #Punkcase #Tech

The good guys over at Punkcase have sent us over a few goodies to check out and we will start with the Clutch series case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. The case comes well presented is a clamshell case keeping it protected and dirt free,not only do you get the case you also get some wipes and a screen protector to boot which is welcome to say the least..

The case is simple to install and takes lest than a 2 seconds to do so,Built with a TPU layer it makes it shock and heat resistant protecting your device all round,with the rounded back it follows the mould of the S7 Edge nicely and feels good to hold in the hand too,There is ample room where needed in the areas required for the speaker,headphone socket and the Micro USB ports,there is no issue here with connecting whats required,The volume and power toggles worked a treat and where comfortable to use with good travel and not tight,some cases tend to need some use before these buttons become comfortable to use,this was not an issue here and they worked perfectly fine out of the box..

On the back there is a card holder,not something I would ever consider using personally,but its there if you are the type to carry cards with you especially in your phone case,lots do it,for security reasons I dont nor have I been ever an advocate for people to do so but its down to the individual themselves to do so and does warrant a reason not to be carrying a wallet.

The case can be placed down either as normal of front faced down,there is a lip present which protects the top and bottom on the device and with the edge this will always be the case due to the both edges being curved you will be limited as to how far the case can overlap especially if you use the sidebar on the device which I do.The camera area too is also well protected and free from harm when placed back down..

Peli Products have kindly sent us over a quite nice case to check out for the Samsung Galaxy S7. So here is what we think of it..

Packaging is typical as what most of us are use too,the way it shipped to us was even more impressive which came shipped in a laptop styled box which had me thinking when it arrived wondering what it was.Both sides of the external packaging was layered with foam which was cool…

The case provides all the protection required to simplify the sum up,With superb grip all round my device felt safe in hand at all times,With dual layered protection too shock absorption is present which is a much better option on cases unlike rock solid shells they do not absorb shock in a good manner like gel cases or rubberised cases such as this which has Military Standard 810G and a drop protection of 1.2M

When it comes to functionality the keys to begin with was good,Great feel and tactility and not stiff at any stage,even out of the box,At times you can get cases that may feel stiff to begin with though loosen up after some usage.Grip was another strong point here with this case with the back consisting of two raised humps if you will at the top and bottom of the case,this felt more secure rather than the traditional flat approach we have become custom too..

The front of the case does offer a lip surrounding the entire front of the screen which means you can place the case face down on any flat surface which many people tend to do,this offers protection of the screen which is of course welcome. The back of the case too also offers protection around the camera area which is more than sufficient which again can be left flat,To add to that the two raised humps lift it again slightly further than what we are use to seeing on the flat backed cases.

On the bottom of course is where our ports are and there is ample room here for easy access for your headphones and Micro USB port not affecting usage and works well,some cases are perhaps somewhat tight in this area and this means you would need to remove the case to charge the device or use certain headphones,this does vary by manufacturer..The speaker cut out was also sufficient and did not muffle the sound experience in anyway..

Overall this case fits the bill and I liked it,it caused me no issues,feels solid and also looks good,One thing with the white backing is how long it stays that way but the material looks like it can take a beating and a damp cloth will remove any scuff marks.

Poetic Cases – Review – Quarterback Case for Samsung Galaxy S7 edge. @PoeticCases

Poetic cases have once again sent us out another case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge and this time round its the Quarterback case which is quite nice albeit Black it really feels good to hold..

The case firstly does not add any notable bulk to the device but does feel tough in the hand and secure,with microgrips on the back flanking both sides in a vertical strip it does add some extra grip then the TPU side again give you some more and there is a cut running up the rails on both sides and again you can see these present top and bottom giving it a nice feel and look..The case again has most of its good looks on the back but looks elegant from the front..

When it comes to the keys they where actually great on this case,they are definitive and travel well and not stiff with a nice soft touch they worked perfectly fine,the ports too also generous allowing users to plug in headphones and cables with no problems and again the speaker grille not obstructed at all which stops muffling of sound.Access to the sidebar was no issues nor the home key with the case no obstructing either,The device can be placed either face down or back down with not having to worry about damaging any key parts on the device so again all is good here,the four corners also sports raised bumpers allowing some more protection too which is good.Overall this case does its intended task and feels good to hold in hand and comfortable too and looks well,especially from the back..

Ulak – Review – Clear case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge #Review

This is our thoughts on the ULAK Clear case for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge which the good guys have sent over.Pretty much the same and the S7 is one way to simplify it,it does the job its meant to do in a simple manner with all angles covered,keys worked perfectly fine with good tactility and no stiffness,the camera and flash area has been well sorted here to enabling the user to place the device down on a flat surface without worries on damaging or scraping the lens,the cut outs for all ports are generous too giving easy access to whats required,the only thing here again is the headphone socket which is not too much to worry about if you are not a headphone junkie with dozens to play with.

The front is where the issue will always be for the S7 Edge due to the dual curved screen,protection is fine for placing the device face down due to the lip on the top and bottom of the case,the sides remain slightly exposed though should you let it fall,also to note you still have access to the side bar panel with no issues here,all works perfectly fine.The case does not add any bulk which some may have seen before from ULAK with the Otterbox approach,this case is sleek and fits like a glove,Being transparent will only give it so much life and it might be something to consider,but for the price you pay its a good case to protect your expensive phone..

The good folks at Ulak have sent over some cases for the latest Samsung devices the S7 and S7 Edge. First up its the S7 and the clear case..

Packaging is what we are use to seeing from ULAK,Simple and pleasing enough on par with many.The case comes with a leaflet which will show you how to print out some inserts for you case due to it being transparent this reminds me of the old Nokia days with the Nokia 3200 if my memory serves me correctly..

The case does offer what is expected from the users perspective and does a good job not adding any bulk to the device and looks neat,all the keys functioned fine and there was no issues here with stiffness unlike what you might find with some cases to begin with,the travel on the keys was natural and its good to see,the usual cut outs on the bottom where fine giving easy access to the Micro USB port and headphone socket though it seem very tight,some headphone jacks might not insert fully here but thats not a huge concern,again the speaker was not obstructed either giving way to clear sound and not muffled,The camera and lens are also passed the test lying below flat level keeping this area away from harm,The front of the case sports a lip all the way around keeping the screen safe enough enabling the user to place the device face down. Overall the case is quite good and robust,over a period of time due to being transparent I can see it loosing its colour and probably go yellow but this is to be expected due to the colour,all cases any colour are due to discolouration over time regardless..
