Final ZE500 for ASMR and easy listening review

The Final ZE500 for ASMR and easy listening earbuds are tiny earbuds that have some controls but not like your typical earbuds as they are designed for ASMR which means Autonomous Sensory Meridian Response.

The ZE500 for ASMR is designed for immersive, close-up voice reproduction, making it ideal for ASMR, audiobooks, podcasts, and binaural content. The tuning minimizes harsh frequencies and creates a natural and intimate listening experience with rich spatial detail. The ZE500 has an ultra-light and pressure-free design. The integrated soft eartip gently seals the ear canal and prevents discomfort, even when lying down. Perfect for long listening sessions.

The earbuds themselves are small in size and ideal for listening to in bed which I do quite alot of and do not put pressure on the ears the controls can also be turned off.

Speaking of controls there is little on offer here which is play and pause and answer calls which is fine, the app as seen below explains what is on offer and you have a volume step optimizer.

The audio however is excellent crisp clear and clean and well balanced espcially with voice out of the box for gaming movies music podcasts etc they do a great job with great audio overall despite the lack of an EQ and other general settings you will find in earbuds.

Unlike mainstream earbuds that brag about Noise Cancelling or Multipoint, the ZE500 focuses on uninterrupted relaxation:

ASMR Mode: This is a game-changer. It disables touch controls and voice guidance. You won’t be jolted awake by a “BATTERY LOW” shout or accidentally pause your video by rolling over on your pillow.

Volume Step Optimization: Through the Final Connect app, you can fine-tune the volume increments. Standard phones often have “too quiet” or “too loud” jumps; the ZE500 allows for micro-adjustments to find that perfect “barely-there” level

Overall these are excellent earbuds that deliver on their target market and not expensive either with a premium look feel and finish and again their size is excellent for those who wear eabuds in bed.

JOURNEY SUMMIT 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station Review

The JOURNEY SUMMIT 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station follows JOURNEY’s previous homewares-inspired charger NOVA, differentiating itself with a magnetic fabric charging face that iPhone (12 and onwards) and other Qi2-certified phone users can dock their devices on to unlock 15W charging speeds.

The Made for Apple Watch-certified SUMMIT also delivers 5W charging speeds for Apple Watches (it features Made for Apple Watch certification) and AirPods also other compatible earbuds and mobile phones.

The SUMMIT Series features the Qi2-certified SUMMIT 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station and the Qi2 25W-certified SUMMIT ULTRA 3-in-1 Wireless Charging Station.

Ideal for those like me with more than one device this means less clutter less space and less cable which is importatn for me at home be it on my desk or bedside locker and espcially for travelling be it here in Ireland or on my tech trips and holidays again means less hassle.

In dimmer environments, device users tap the moon icon at the rear of their charger to activate its AirPods alcove, which functions as a beacon of ambient light which is also another feature seen before from the company and much welcome in my opinion.

Having several of JOURNEY products now at home these make life easy save me space, cables and time and they are all quality built products the SUMMIT is no different with a nice bit of weight in it solid and robust and also enables me to use my phone as a second screen while charging or watching content not only this my earbuds and watch can be topped up right there without worrying about proprietary cables which is annoying especially with smartwatches.

The fabric on the SUMMIT is a nice touch and it also has a nice matt finish to it and easy to maintain like similar products reviewed befire from the company, a simple wipe of a wet cloth will keep it clean.

Overall another great product by JOURNEY like past devices review this is one to have at your disposal, check the video review below for more.

viaim RecDot AI Recording True Wireless Earbuds Review

The viaim RecDot AI Recording True Wireless Earbuds are a welcome addition to the earbuds available out there today which not only offer great audio for listening to but they also record with a splash of AI thrown in, Yes I said AI it is everywhere and kinda annoying at this stage even for me however it does have good uses too in general.

The viaim RecDot come with several features you do not see too often with call recording real-time transalation FlashRecord, and deep noise cancelling they have fouor mics and also a dual connection so out of the box they have more than the basics on offer with a really cool app to go with them.

With the basics you expect to find the audio is excellent here with great dual connectivity that is important to me and of course ANC which works really well up to 48dB which is a standard with most earbuds.

As with most earbuds you should complete the fit test for the best results this is now common these days even with cheaper earbuds out there and become a standard similar to an audio/hearing test.

Ok so down to the sound first, these sound great given it is not their target USP here highs lows and mids great, great volume no tinny sound maxed out or any distortion, they have a suite of EQ settings you can customise them to your need and also the settings which for some might need a learning curve with more than one way to interact with them unlike others as you can pinch , pinch and hold and slide which is great offering more commands than standard touch or button based earbuds some of which are often limited here or even fixed and cant be modified.

All these work well after get use to them though in fairness I have tried other earbuds with similar gestures some working better than others however these again give more giving you more flexibility.

The main USP of these earbuds is what they can do outside letting you listen to music etc they offer an new way to interact with them and the case, there is a red dot on the case that you can use to start recording on the fly which is quite handy, you can do so on the earbuds too however they must be in your ears this does not work if they are out on your desk for example and this works well.

The ability to do more with these is what I like and with on board storage call recording being one and yeah there is legal talk of that it is there you can translate, audio and video record live record and also live translation record which is fantastic for those say in the media, journalist scence and those in tech who travel to different countries like myself, this works well not always 100% accurate however it also breaks things down with their AI and this is very accurate and useful for time saving and less editing work and also gives you a mind map which is super cool. You can effectively go paperless here overall.

Overall for me this is the next thing in earbuds and maybe headphones considering they got the audio right and the AI which is annoying now in almost all tech I review but not this time around, I love it and it is a realtime use case scenario that works well.

Check the video review below for more, these earbuds are the way forward and something that you need to check out

Air6 HS delivers a natural listening balance that’s easy on the ears. We’ve tuned it for crystal-clear vocals and smooth highs that stay pleasant even after hours of use.

Enjoy punchy, present bass in a semi-in-ear design with the Dynamic EQ in the SOUNDPEATS App, specifically engineered to solve the common “weak bass” concerns

Now these earbuds have no ANC which might concern others and they have tuned these to a better audio experience rather than focus on ANC which has become a staple in earbuds over the years but this is the only trade off you can find here overall with these.

The audio experience for me in my testing has been grea though and expected from soundpeats and any soundpeats fan will agree havng moved up from previous models.

Bass is deeper and crispy sounds all round plus the peats audio app ensure the listener can get their own custom audio experience which has been always the case and their app is one of the best in the game.

With the app you also have spatial audio you will beed to do an adaptive EQ test to get the best results, you have a custom key and all the other fucntions you would expect and including a game mode dynamic EQ and of course LDAC fucntionality.

You also have the find my earbuds option and drainange feauture on board here which is also good to see and the drainage option not often seen even on higher priced earbuds.

You also get up to 9 hours of playback on a single charge, and a total of 45 hours with the case. Quick Charge will give you 10 minutes of charging to get 3 hours of listening. Multipoint Connection is also available and like me you can seamlessly switch between your phone and laptop which I do on a daily basis.

KZ Sonata 14BA In-Ear Monitor Headphones

The KZ Sonata represents the absolute peak of KZ Audio’s “driver war” era. Featuring a staggering 14 balanced armature (BA) drivers per side (28 total), it is a flagship-tier IEM that aims to prove KZ can do more than just budget V-shaped “fun” sound.

The Sonata is a beefy IEM. Handling 14 drivers requires a large shell, but KZ has utilized 3D-printed resin to keep the weight manageable however these might not be for all ears due to their size but they look cool and 3D printed earbuds is now more common than one would think this is our 4th or 5th such pair to test out that has been 3D Printed.

The Shell: It features a transparent medical-grade resin that lets you see the complex maze of BA drivers and acoustic tubes inside. It uses the standard 0.75mm 2-pin (C-Pin) connection.

The Switches: Most versions come with a 4-level tuning switch on the back of each shell, allowing you to manually adjust the impedance and crossover to boost bass or sharpen treble.

Comfort: Despite the driver count, the ergonomic “fin” design fits securely. However, if you have smaller ears, the sheer bulk of the shell may cause fatigue after two or more hours of listening.

The Sonata moves away from the traditional “KZ house sound” (which is usually aggressive and sharp) toward a more refined, mid-forward, and analytical signature.

Because these use only balanced armatures (no dynamic driver), the bass is fast, tight, and textured. It doesn’t have the “thump” or “air” of a subwoofer, but it is incredibly precise. You can hear the vibration of a bass guitar string rather than just feeling a generic “boom.”

The mids are remarkably clear. Vocals are positioned slightly forward, making them feel intimate. The “BA Timbre” (a metallic thinness often found in cheaper sets) is largely absent here, thanks to the Electronic Frequency Division technology that manages the 14 drivers.

With multiple dedicated high-frequency drivers, the treble extension is massive. It reveals micro-details—the sound of a singer’s breath, the lingering ring of a cymbal, or the acoustic room reverb—that cheaper IEMs simply blur over.

Overall these sound better than one would expect even for those who lean to high end earbuds like myself and was pleasently suprised and what these can do and how they sound and an example even for me to say do not knock something until you try it

  • Unparalleled sound with 28 BA drivers: this 2x14BA in-ear monitor headphones surpass everything you’ve heard before. The Sonata IEM uses 10 tweeter BA drivers, 1 mid-tweeter BA driver, 2 midrange BA drivers and 1 bass BA driver. Each driver has been carefully selected and performs a specific function within a complex crossover. As a result, this BA system provides the ability to play fast and complex audio passages effortlessly. Excellent sound control and balanced tonality – you won’t want to take off the headphones.
  • 4-stage sound control: the KZ Sonata hifi wired earphones have 4 controls for individual sound adjustment. Whether sound range, adjustment accuracy or amplitude modulation – they far exceed conventional damping solutions. The bass does not penetrate the mids and does not sound muddy or booming. Balanced, detailed and brilliant heights. The sound is neither hissing nor exhausting or shrill.
  • Multi-dimensional crossover: kz iem’s 14 BA drivers require a sophisticated crossover to provide an excellent listening experience. KZ has developed a multi-dimensional crossover that allows each driver to play their own specific role and reach their full potential.
  • Comfort and secure fit: the KZ Sonata in-ear gaming headphones are made of skin-friendly resin and a lightweight metal cover. A metal ventilation grille ensures balanced air pressure in the ear canal, effectively reducing fatigue and discomfort during prolonged hearing. The ear hook cable and the high-quality foam earplugs guarantee optimal comfort. They are almost invisible when worn.
  • HIGH PRECISION 3D PRINTED ACOUSTIC TUBE – Using state-of-the-art 3D printing technology, KZ Acoustics has developed a precise 3D printed acoustic tube structure for the Sonata, which ensures powerful bass response. It contributes to optimal phase correction between different frequencies. In addition, we use professional, light-curing plastics that are characterised by high shock resistance, skin friendliness and durability.

TAPO CP500 outdoor pan and tilt security camera review

The Tapo CP500 outdoor pan and tilt security camera is a budget security camera with many features of high end cameras including a 360 degree view on board and also comes with a patrol feature.

This has several mounting options making it more versatile for placement depending on where you want it which is excellent.

This will take about 5 minutes to install and set up including the app which is simple to use has a nice UI and nothng to cumbersome in the menu structure to find features.

You have the ability to expand storge via sd card or use their cloud options which come at a cost like most security cameras these days and there is no sd card in the box.

This is a wired camera so you must be wise on where it is stored for cable worries and again the wire is not the longest on this one like many of tapos wired cameras but most should be fine.

The camera offers many good features for the price and has great night vision you can make zones timed patrols you can pan an tilt it on the fly and it also follows objects once set up which is an excellent feature to track something that could be an intruder for example of your postman dropping a package over the side gate.

There is a siren sepaker and spotlight on the security camera which is also usefull you can see all these in action in the full hands on video review below along with a full demo of the app and features

The video quality is quite good even at night giving you good detail overall and footage which can be downloaded and shared or stored on device and for the money this is a great option for those who want peace of mind if away or just general security for their home.

Jabra Evolve85 3 review

The Jabra Evolve85 3 have been part of my daily routine now for some weeks alongside other cans and earbuds which is great for comparing to the latest on the market and at several price and feature point, with the cost to performance ratio dropping each year it is now a hard sell to sell expensive headphones, for example Apple have launched new headphones that are overpriced for me but these Jabra Evolve85 3 are also not cheap but target a different market.

The Jabra Evolve85 3 are a hybrid pair of headphones that offer the best for teams type calls and more but not only this phone calls and your music allowing you to hear more than you expect in some instances which is something I have only experienced once before with a pair of gaming earbuds not headphones.

For those who work in the office space or open office these are where it is at right now and the same applies to those who work from home they are for commuters if you commute to work they are for gamers and also general music and movies end of story making these a more versatile product than ever before.

For the professionals on calls such as teams which I often use alongside other platforms the call quality is excellent you can hear more than before and often things you may not of heard like background noise outdoor noise etc with adaptive ANC which suprised me you might also hear things you are not meant to ( in a bad or good way) but this can be tuned to your needs in the app and me being me I am all ears I want to hear it all and crystal clear as you do with these.

Jabra Plus App

The Jabra Evolve3 85 has no boom mic which for me is great not a huge fan but not an issue but the mics perform well on calls and teams calls etc with excellent clairty.

There is a simple button layout again for me great all work well all tacticle and the instant connection to teams which is a winner if you use that platform often which is about half my online calls to be up front on that however it still works great on all platforms it must be noted, these also perform excellent on Zoom and Google Meet for example.

Wireless charging is another bonus for me as I have fully adopted this at home all round the house so for those who are worried fear not also to note in general the battery life alone is excellent here and much improved.

Overall for me the new Jabra Evolve3 85 is an excellent hybrid headset that is a winner for online calls music and movies all round, the price for some might be a turn off however if you want it all in one headset this is where it is at and for me having the best in the game is often costly but this headset is worth it with all the technology packed inside.
