Psyself Radio – Electronic Dance Music Player on Android and iOS. #Apps

Electronic Dance music player is an app that simply collects music from different online media services (SoundCloud, Mixcloud and others) and tries to play music that the listener would supposedly like. You can select specific sub genres of electronic music (trance, house, dubstep, hardcore and others), and also listen to popular internet radio stations (DI.FM, SomaFM). The app was created by Maxim Novikov and has been around a while but just got a big update..

Maxim tells us…

I have always been a huge fan of music (electronic music, guitar music, jazz, and lots of other stuff) and even composed it myself before. But I always thought that the existing music industry is totally broken. Listeners can basically just stick to what commercial brands like Universal or Sony Music give them. And I wanna change this.
So, I started working on a mobile app to basically connect all the musicians to their target audience. I collect music from many different sources (like SoundClound, Bandcamp, Mixcloud, YouTube, …, and also online radio stations) and play it through the app as a personalized “radio stream” for a listener. And I am trying to contact to independent artists as well to get approval to play their music (for free) in the app.
There is a lot of great music not exposed through commercial channels like TV or radio these days, and with the current technology breakthrough (the internet, music software, etc.) it is getting available online to anyone, but it’s still very difficult to discover. Big music services like Spotify, Pandora, Apple Music are all affiliated with large record companies utilizing the old dinosaur-era model, so you can’t find new good stuff there. Other music services like SoundCloud or Bandcamp are basically huge directories where musicians can upload their songs, but it doesn’t really change anything for the listener, they still can only find something there if they know about a particular artist or track. I want to provide similar services like big online media systems give to the end consumer, but using all the music from all over the world, so the musicians would get better exposure and the listeners could find any music they enjoy without any effort.

Pick from many Electronic music genres (trance (goa trance, psychedelic and progressive), chillout (downtempo, psybient, psychill, ambient), dubstep, drum and bass, hardstyle, hardcore (happy hardcore and gabba), rave, eurodance, lounge (deep house, nu jazz), electro house and electro swing) and enjoy the best electronic music songs both from popular artists and independent and undiscovered yet music bands.

Meet #Mizu, world’s first personalized restaurants menus by @Tiwaash #Food #Dublin #iOS

Hey folks, we have something special for the foodie lovers in Dublin. We were approached by a dynamic guy, who was bubbling with new concept and ideas to help people find where and who offers, what they are looking for… Curious?? Well we were too to know what exactly Youssef Sarhan, Designer and Co-Founder Mizu had in his mind.

Read on to know what’s here for people who love to eat out from Mizu.

What is Mizu?
We all have a very different taste and diets. Some of us love chicken, some of us think it’s boring. Some of us love pasta, some of avoid it while others prefer to stay vegetarian. So, here is where this new idea of Mizu came up.

Well, Mizu is a new mobile app for iPhone which understands your taste and diet.

When you download Mizu, you tell the app what you do and don’t like to eat – this helps Mizu understand your taste and diet and match you with great nearby food. “Think of it as a dating app for food, the perfect relationship” says Youssef.

Once you’ve told Mizu what you do and don’t like to eat, Mizu shows you a list of great nearby restaurants – complete with opening hours and directions. Isn’t that great? Mizu is being your Personal Assistant to your taste buds.

When you browse a restaurants menu on Mizu, dishes are presented in an order which matches your taste and diet. So, this makes finding the perfect dish super fast. Say for example, if you like chicken, chicken dishes are filtered to the top, and if you don’t like pork, pork dishes are pushed to the bottom. This is great for customers and businesses. Everyone wins! You know what and where you want to eat and businesses know what to offer to you.

Mizu comes with a learning algorithm, which gets better the more you use to make it offer you the best options. Mizu also integrates your social networking sites where you can share the dish or it even allows you to rate or comment on a particular restaurant, so your friends and family know what you liked our didn’t like at the particular restaurant.

Mizu is a totally unique concept, nobody is doing anything like this in the food-tech space yet.

Mizu is a start up based in Dublin, Ireland and they are looking for expansion and proposals. This wonderful app is exclusively available to iOS at the moment, which can be downloaded here. We wish the team a very good luck for the future.

Let us know your on this revolutionary experience of browsing restaurant’s menu in the comments below or tweet us using #TechBuzzIreland.

Royal College of Surgeons launch new health app with real info. #Apps #Health

Google is your friend when searching for problems but it can be also be your enemy whilst searching for information concerning health and in some cases it can be fatal but with the technology available today we are starting to see more and more in – house apps from real practitioners something similar to an app we featured a while ago called Touch Surgery

The Royal College of Surgeons have released a new app though which gives information on certain issues and will hopefully prevent people from using search engines as a source of info which can be mixed across the board.Self diagnosing is not wise but we have all done myself included so there is no denying that it is something there for people to do and even if its just out of curiosity or perhaps searching on someone else’s behalf…

On opening the app you are presented with 4 icons as pictured above and you can then set up your own profile which is non intrusive on information,In the search option you will be presented with an alphabetical list and then you can open the desired selection and get information. There is also some news categories to chose from too if you want to keep up to speed on the latest info at hand on health etc. So far on testing the app its quite smooth and responsive and its an excellent job and idea and would like to see more like it..

There is also a feature to store your own health information such as blood type, weight, height and to calculate your BMI. The app also includes a very useful feature that lists all the hospitals in Ireland and contact information for each hospital as well as emergency services information.

Also added is “Mutual Follow” where when you start a private broadcast, you can choose from a list of mutual followers,Share context is another addition but only on iOS for now which means when someone you follow shares a broadcast, it appears in your home feed noted with an indicator.
