Evernote Launches New Features and New Plans for Personal and Professional Productivity

Evernote, the productivity app that helps you remember everything and accomplish anything, today unveiled a line-up of new features and repackaged subscription plans that make it easier than ever for users to effectively manage their workflows and organise their lives. The introduction of Tasks, Google Calendar in Evernote and new Home widgets to the app’s core note-taking capabilities acts as a force-multiplier, creating context for whatever needs to get done. Notes become more actionable, deadlines and to-dos become easier to track, and important information is surfaced in a neat, organised view.

Since rebuilding the platform in September 2020, Evernote has delivered a steady succession of new features and product improvements, from the launch of Home in January to Tasks in Early Access in June. Today’s official release of Tasks, Google Calendar integration and expanded Home capabilities as part of the company’s repackaged plans makes it easy for anyone to create the right Evernote for them – no matter what they need to get done.

Tasks in Evernote

By allowing users to create actionable tasks directly inside their notes, and also to manage them all from a unified view, Evernote bridges the gap between what users need to do and the information they need to do it. As part of today’s launch, Tasks can now be assigned to other Evernote users and soon to anyone with an email address – whether they use Evernote or not. Initially rolled out as an Early Access release in June, Tasks is now available as a general release across all devices.

Google Calendar in Evernote

Users can now connect Evernote to their Google Calendar accounts, making it seamless to create, link, and find notes for meetings and other events. With Google Calendar in Evernote, notes linked to events paint a more complete picture of what happened, when, and why. Ideas, decisions, and action items stay connected to the people, places, and activities that sparked them, without any extra effort. And, the customisable calendar widget in Home helps users stay in the zone without leaving Evernote, while making it easy to create and access relevant notes.

Home in Evernote

Introduced in January, Home is a one-stop dashboard that puts the information users need front and centre so they can stay on top of their day without feeling overwhelmed. Today, new customisation options for Home offer users a refreshed Evernote experience from the minute they open the app. This includes new widgets for Tasks and Google Calendar, as well as the ability to add multiple pinned notes and scratch pads (and change their pads’ colour and title), so Home can be optimised to fit the ways individuals work and think.

New Subscription Plans

As part of today’s announcement, four redesigned subscription plans arrange Evernote’s features and capabilities – both new and old – in easy-to-understand packages:

  • Evernote Personal: The least expensive paid offering for individual power users was crafted with Evernote Premium as the foundation, but includes new ways for users to bring order to their days. With full-featured Tasks, new widgets for Home and the ease that comes from connecting a Google Calendar account, Evernote Personal helps users stay focused on the activities and information they need for themselves, their homes and their family.
  • Evernote Professional: Designed for the higher-end power user, the new Professional plan embraces the “whole person” model of an Evernote user – a busy professional who juggles information overload both at work and home.   • Evernote Free: Evernote’s incredibly powerful and highly-valued free option retains the original mission of remember everything by enabling users to collect and manage everything important. Evernote Free will continue to incorporate smart, tailored experiences that help new customers onboard quickly and existing customers do even more.

Getting yourself an old-school ledger or creating a diary of your spending habits can give you a far greater sense of control. You are seeing the amounts you’ve spent in black and white on the paper, and you are actively adding things up and seeing the results. Being this involved in the numbers can help you get to grips with the money you’re spending and how you can better budget things moving forward.

Start By Picking Your Style

There are various ways to track the money you spend. Which one you choose will depend on your personality and the way you prefer to focus:

  • Daily Inputs

With this method, you note each purchase you make in your ledger as it happens or as a wrap up at the end of the day. This allows you to see exactly what you’re spending on a daily basis and gives you an incredibly accurate breakdown of your habits. Your cash purchases are often forgotten about during the month. So, make sure you have a book (or an app) to keep a note of those for the end of the month.

Then, at the end of each month, sit down with your credit or debit card slips, bank statement, and notes of your cash purchases, and get to work. While this method may take a few hours once a month, you don’t have to worry about jotting down every time you spend money as you go.

  • By Category

When inputting your daily and monthly spends, it’s a good idea to organize them according to a system. Many people like to go by category. These include groceries, clothing, fuel or transportation, rent, for the home, eating out, etc. With this method, you can also easily include how much money you get in from your job and any other sources of income you may have.

  • By Retailer

Another way to organize your purchases is to go by retailer or store. People like to see where they are spending more money than they should or which stores might be a particular weakness for them.

Setting Up Your Analog Journal

A bullet journal is one of the easiest ways to set up an analogue method for tracking your expenses and putting together a comprehensive budget that is easy to follow. 

Don’t worry, this doesn’t mean you need to be good with design and colour, or use an array of cute decorations. Bullet journals are highly functional task management systems, you can just make them as elaborate and decorative as you want to.

  • Monthly Budget vs Spend

The best place to start is with a monthly budget. 

You may need to track your spending habits for a few months before you can start making accurate budgets. Once you have that, you can record how much you want to spend on categories or in certain stores each month and compare it to what you actually spend each month throughout the year.

  • Bill Tracker

This is where you’ll track each purchase that you make. You can have one page for daily purchases and another page for the monthly bills like rent, insurance or your Netflix subscription. This is where you’ll get accurate information to project your monthly and yearly budgets.

  • Debt Payments

Keeping track of your debt is always important. It’s also nice to be able to see a visual representation of your debts and how each payment you make is getting you closer to the end. You can also use this to help you decide if it’s worth taking out a loan or line of credit for a future purchase.

Keep in mind that if you reside in the area, you may even apply for bad credit loan in Singapore to help cover urgent financial gaps. This option, however, should be approached with careful consideration of repayment terms.

 

  • Savings

It’s also important to track what you have in your savings and how much you can put into that account or investment each month.

  • The Contents

No journal is complete without a contents page. This will help you find the information you need easily and to flick to the right page quickly when you want to input new information. You can also colour-code each section with tabs, making it easier to jump to the right page directly.

There’s merit in using apps and there are advantages of going analogue. If you find you struggle to keep tabs on your spending even when you’re using an app, keeping written records is the best alternative. 

It’s common knowledge that it’s easier to commit something to memory if you write it down, and this applies to your money and financial situation too.

In a world of sports and fitness tech there is something for everyone out there and the most popular is wearables such as smartwatches and fitness bands and much more but what about something totally unique that can hack your metabolism? Well that is what Lumen does and by the time you are finished testing this out you will know if your lungs are in good shape you will have to use it to understand what I mean but we will touch on that as we go along.

The device itself is small and compact with a rubberised texture to it with a magnetic cap and will easily fit in any pocket or bag if you are going to get full use of this you may need to bring it to work or if you work from home it is fine it is a pretty extensive programme to follow and you would be using it several times a day..

The unit comes with its own dock to charge and one charge will last some time and this again depends on how much you will use it but the battery life is quite good and that is not a bad thing when you think about having another device in the house you need to charge.

 

 

Once open you download the app which has great tutorials inside which helps and you are good to go and this is a great test to see how good your lungs are too it is effectively like blowing into a peak flow device where you have to keep the ball between the lines for ten seconds and then you have to repeat this again a second time and you get your results..

You also fill in your personal profile this is very intense and there is many fields to complete to get the full end user benefit from the unit.The goal is to burn more fat and you have a daily chart to remind you on a level of 1-5 all in nice graphics too..

 

Ok so this is not like a fitness tracker where you read the results and jog on you have to input data daily, several times a day and it will become part of your life so to speak to get the desired results .You get a score out of 5 daily depending on what you eat and this in turn will entice you to change your habits and you can adjust your meals and fitness regime to suit if needed..

For the most you will get a morning score and evening score and recommendations and that is all they are is recommendations and it means you may have to adjust your meals and change your carb intake and so on and the goal is to see what score you get daily and after two weeks of testing you will unlock the lumen flex score.

 

 

I have not got mine yet as i missed a day here and there over a few weeks testing and simply forgot to bring with me on my travels and being honest as I mentioned it becomes part of you if your into getting results and that is not a bad thing either but when you think of it it is the same as forgetting your phone if you are into it like I was.

Tech Review – HIGHEVER Bluetooth Beanie for sleep and sports #Tech #Sports #Sleep

I have reviewed several beanie hats in the past which are an effective idea and simple mostly used in the Winter but this model here can be used in both sports and used as a sleep aide.  This is a really comfortable beanie to wear and is washable too which is nice of course and has simple to use controls on the front identical to controls I have used in similar beanie hats before. You can listen to your music radio and take calls which is handy and it can be also used as a sleep mask which again is handy with the early bright mornings we have now in the Summer.

Having tested in all scenarios this is really comfortable and does not clamp on your head and the speakers are placed either side and can be removed. The thing I find most interesting is how good the sound is with this and much better than I expected, it will not blow you away like some earbuds or headphones but the sound quality is pretty decent and is nice to see. This is ideal for those who like sports and like sleep and is not expensive either and worth a look in my book to try out and costs around 18 euro so for the price it is a nice gift to start with or just something to have at hand at home.. This is well built and solid with a matt finish and grippy rubber so you will not let it drop and if you do I would say it will take a beating anyway it is robust all round.

Depending on your needs there is several pieces in the case that can help you out and pretty much everything is covered from the get go. I am no massage gun expert but from trying two models you can feel the benefits it must be said after not using one until now I can see and feel a difference and the benefit these products offer the user. As mentioned there is two options available and there is cheaper out there so I cant compare to those just now as it would be unfair but it is not a bad price to pay but there is more expensive ones and being honest it is hard to tell just what the differences is between those and the two I have tried unless I test them personally but for your money hear you cant really complain.

By now the number of industries and businesses that use and accept cryptocurrencies as a form of payment is becoming bigger than the number of industries and businesses that don’t, so of course that the online gaming and gambling industries had to jump on that wagon and go with the flow. Tech Review – Creative SXFI Theater headphones. #Tech #Headphones

If you have not tried any of the Creative SXFI headphones you do not know what you are missing and the Theater is no different but there is only one thing about these that has me asking questions and that is why lock them out from your mobile phone and why the need to set up an account on the app and pc but I got a workaround for the smartphone issue which is fine but means you need to get a USB adapter to make it work but having said that aside using these for gaming and watching films these are something you should have at your disposal regardless but they really need to make them more open. You can use them via 3.5 mm cable but it just defeats the purpose and you miss out on all the features. I tested on PC/Laptop PS5 and phone and all went works well.

Setting up is simple enough and I get the need for lag free connectivity but these should be open to all, once you have downloaded the app and set up profiles all it is is a case of swapping out the usb dongle and the connect button is on the dongle to connect not the device it is plugged into.. You do a head mapping process and it might be better to have someone help you do this especially for the ears part.

I have got this to work on my phone with USB-C adapter the process is a bit a laborious having to set up twice and then set new profile for each device but it is worth it in the end.

So what are you getting here exactly.. A good comfortable pair of headphones to start with and the main selling point here is the immersive, holographic audio experience across devices and it puts you slap bang in the middle of everything and you can tune to your needs and oh boy it is great, having tested several of the previous models this is just as good if not better for that immersive audio experience you would expect to find from the SXFI range..

 

Primarily these are aimed at gamers but can be used in other scenarios so limited to an extent and I had to find a way to use them elsewhere this does depend though on what you are connected to they will not work on any tv I have or my projectors but do so on my phone. If you want to plug these in direct you can with the 3.5 mm cable but useless without the app hence why I say they should be just an open BT connection.

There is controls on the headset and a removable mic which is great and the volume control is a wheel rather than buttons which I like and then you have the super x-fi button which changes the tune altogether you also have the cool led rings around the cups for a nice effect even though you cant see it personally really but it is a nice touch nonetheless.

For gaming they are great for long term use and worth it and very comfortable and notice no sweating even with hours of non stop gaming this will depend on the day though and might change somewhat in the hotter days I will come back to that again when we do get some hot weather as we are expecting some next week..
