Tech Review – Limited Edition 35th Year Anniversary Street Fighter x Skullcandy Headset

The Limited-Edition Skullcandy x Street Fighter PLYR headset is loaded with nods to the classic game, as you would of seen in the unboxing there is many audio nods installed on the headset itself  to the game and when you navigate the controls on the headset which is really cool if you are Street Fighter fan which there is many of out there today of a certain age group.

Looks and build.

Well these do look similar to the SLYR we reviewed recently and the same applies here when it comes to comfort only this time round there is no padding on the headband but this time round we get a band that does just the same job but has a nod to street fighter on it. I do think though this headset is robust and the looks stand out even more this time and I love the speckled finish on it and for me after testing these for countless hours they are comfortable for gaming and listening to music without any clamping effect either on the head which some headphones can do so especially after long hour of use.

Controls

The controls again are familiar but more this time around however kept simple and that works for me it is not a complicated set up at all, you have got two panels on one cup and a wheel and one switch yet all your commands can be done here or from the app which this time around is really cool, the wheel can also control your EQ on the headphones which is amazing for getting the right set up you need not only for the gaming aspect but the audio experience too and it is simply fantastic.

The App

Here is what you can find in the app below but we go through this in detail in the video review and it is a fantastic looking app too and simple to use, you also have tile built in which everyone is familiar with here on this site as we have covered it countless times but it s good to have especially with this limited edition headset in case you happen to misplace it.

Compatibility

Ok so these are aimed at gamers so if you have a PS5 XBox or Nintendo Switch you are good to go, you can connect via Bluetooth or cable , there is  their own dongle to avail of too but there is alternatives out there or you may have one already, You can also use these with your mobile phone I tested on the Nintendo Switch and my Phone, there is a PC app too and the app we tested is the one for mobile as I am not a PC gamer at all but the options are limitless for gamers.

The Sound

I will make this short and sweet these sound fantastic you have control in the app to get the right tone you require, As mentioned I have the SLYR already and they were quite good but these are on another level and you can decide what tones suit you with the app, there is no ANC hear however but you do not need it, the passive noise isolation is good and once the volume is cranked up you can forget about what is going on around you which is what I like. There is also no lag latency here noted during my testing.

Overall this is a really cool pair of headphones with a removable mic nods to the game built in as you go along and is an easy recommend from me of you can get your hands on them, there is no ANC or Voice Assistant here and no option to reverse tracks but these are for gaming but they for me are also for people who listen to music and they have delivered both sides of the coin here.

Coopers Cross is Ireland’s First Platinum SmartScore Certified Commercial

Coopers Cross is announcing it is the first commercial development in Ireland to achieve Platinum SmartScore certification. Introduced in 2021 and providing a global certification standard, SmartScore identifies best-in-class smart buildings that deliver exceptional user experience, drive cost efficiency, meet high standards of sustainability, and are fully future-proofed.

Comprising 381,000 sq. ft. of Grade-A office space, the two office buildings are located at the heart of Coopers Cross, a six-acre mixed-use campus under development by Kennedy Wilson. Opening in 2023, Coopers Cross will redefine Dublin’s historic North Docks, meeting the needs of tomorrow’s workforce today.

The Platinum SmartScore certification is only awarded to buildings that raise the bar in redefining the workspaces of the future. Enhanced data availability, smart controls and sensors throughout support efficient and effective use of energy, water, light, heating, and ventilation. The office buildings at Coopers Cross will be connected to a fully electric power supply. Sub-meters on each floor will allow tenants to track detailed energy usage, while roof-mounted panels will provide solar energy, enabling tenants not only to source electricity from renewable sources but to also manage it effectively.

The offices at Coopers Cross have been designed to provide the optimum blend of innovative, flexible workspace with technology and wellbeing facilities. A dedicated app will allow employees not only to stay connected, with regular updates on retail promotions or cultural events happening on the campus, but also access the amenity booking platform, wellness statistics and energy data.

As a Platinum SmartScore commercial development, Coopers Cross is joining a select group of globally recognised addresses that have achieved such a high level of certification including The Hammerbrooklyn Digital Pavilion in Hamburg, 22 Bishopsgate in London, 101 Collins Street in Melbourne, and 151 North Franklin in Chicago.

Peter McKenna, Head of Development, Europe, at Kennedy Wilson commented: “We are delighted that Coopers Cross is the first commercial development in Ireland to achieve the globally recognised Platinum SmartScore certification. This demonstrates our commitment to creating exceptional and innovative buildings, and in doing so, redefining the workplace experience in Dublin’s North Docks. We look forward to the official opening of Coopers Cross later this year.”

Tom Vaughan-Fowler, Director, Business Development, WiredScore, commented: “As the first Platinum SmartScore certified building in Ireland, the commercial development at Coopers Cross is an embodiment of Kennedy Wilson’s commitment to the future of an ever-changing real estate landscape, by recognising the importance of superior digital connectivity and technology-enabled user experiences. Smart buildings will play a pivotal role in creating more attractive, efficient, and sustainable workplaces that place productivity and collaboration at the core.’’

Jabra Elite 5: true wireless earbuds with Hybrid ANC

This latest product in Jabra’s Elite range features new Hybrid ANC technology, powered by the Qualcomm QCC3050 Bluetooth chipset. This makes the ANC less sensitive to the positioning in the ear, ensuring a more reliable noise cancellation across a wider range of frequencies.

This all-round hero is made for those needing to take calls from anywhere and is great for enjoying media during leisure. This is thanks to 6-microphone call technology with external mics that are constantly active, as well as internal mics that give your voice a helping hand when it’s windy outside.  See our review HERE

Jabra Evolve2 Buds: pocketable earbuds for hybrid working

Designed to boost concentration and improve collaboration, the Evolve2 Buds are perfect for professionals working on the go. The true wireless buds are certified for leading virtual meeting platforms, including Microsoft Teams and Zoom, and use the latest technology to reduce disruptive background noise and enable clearer calls.

The Evolve2 Buds enable users to have high-quality conversations with Jabra MultiSensor Voice™, which uses a unique combination of four microphones, bone conduction sensors, and advanced algorithms to block out as much of the surrounding noise as possible.

Jabra Enhance Plus: OTC 3-in-1 earbuds for hearing, music and calls

Jabra Enhance Plus sets a new standard for bringing together the convenience of true wireless earbuds with advanced hearing technology to alleviate unaddressed hearing needs. As part of the new OTC hearing aid category and cleared by the FDA as a self-fitting hearing aid, Enhance Plus empowers millions of Americans with mild to moderate hearing loss to take the first step on their hearing health journey.

Jabra Enhance Plus delivers a 3-in-1 experience in a miniaturised true wireless form factor design, around half the size of Jabra’s smallest true wireless earbuds. It includes the calls and music functionality that users expect from true wireless earbuds and provides hearing help for users in a discreet and comfortable design.

Taking true wireless tech to new levels, the device packs four key audiological features: Warp Compressor for analysis of sounds similar to human ear, Digital Noise Reduction for keeping speech clear, Digital Feedback Suppression to keep feedback from interfering with sound quality, and Binaural Beamformer with directionality to isolate sounds.

Calum MacDougall, SVP at Jabra said, “We are delighted to be back in Las Vegas to showcase the newest products in our true wireless line-up. In the past year we have brought several unique additions to our offerings, from earbuds engineered for hybrid work to hearing enhancement earbuds in the new OTC hearing aids category. CES marks the start of yet another exciting year of innovation to come.”

Tech Review – Heyup Boxe Projector

Projectors have come down in price over the last two years which now means you can pick them up fairly cheaply however that depends on what you want, be it picture quality and more, this little minion type one that everyone has said is one better off for the kids or perhaps gamers and serves a 1080p experience which is decent with the right conditions which is a dark room and a good background to project onto the lumen count is another factor to look out for, I currently use 4K projectors and this whilst it supports up to 4K does not transcribe when it comes to the picture quality but with the right conditions it does fine with 1080p a big 120 inch screen and decent sound.

Another point to make is the noise level, some are loud just like gaming consoles but this one is actually quite which again is a benefit, You get an app store to download apps which most are there if comparing to the play store and the remote is simple to use as well as the UI is to navigate so all in all an easy experience overall and one to keep the kids quite for a few hours, it is also portable enough to bring to hotels or friends houses and also doubles as a bluetooth speaker and powerbank. You can also cast to the projector which is also handy be it on Android or iOS.

Check out the video review below for more as this is a more visual aspect and we don’t do stock image reviews with no context and context is what it is all about here. If you missed the unboxing you can see that

The key features of Boxe are:
  • Native 1080p resolution and supports 4K
  • Lightweight and portable for entertainment on the go
  • Easy Wireless Bluetooth iOS & Android Phones casting(in-app cast as well)
  • Flexible picture size of 40” – 120” with a 1.34:1 throw ratio
  • Built-in 7800 mAh battery for up to 90 mins playtime without external power
  • Keystone correction options for quick screen adjustments, fine-tuning, and reset
  • FengOS – Intuitive and smart OS design
  • Light diffusion for better eye protection
  • Quiet whispering for immersive TV& movie experience

Tech Review – XNANO X1 Android 9.0 LCD Projector

Projectors are a must have in any home these days in my opinion as they take up less room stop having that TV centerpiece in your home and in general gives you a bigger screen and in most cases any games console or device can be plugged in giving you a larger screen to showcase things, and speaking of they are great for presentations..

One thing though is the cost of projectors and in most cases again you get what you pay for and quite often overpriced imo. Over the last while I have tried several projectors and the the saying certainly applies however this time around you get more for your money and it is an easy recommend if you are just starting off with a projector or want to buy a second one for your home for your kids etc.

You will see more of what I mean in the video review below with what you get for you money here including a good picture and ports at hand and you can also screencast, you have the Google play store in there too with 12000 lumens which is a high figure for this price point and it shows in comparison to others ones covered. Not only that you have keystone correction which is not really seen at this price point alongside the other features with 8K decoding, not that there is much options out there for that now it has kind of future proofed itself. Also what is cool you have a voice control remote control which is mega handy rather than typing.

You also get a cool carry case for the projector making it portable for travelling which I did on my holidays recently and it made for better viewing over the typical country hotel TV that lacks with locked ports, with this projector as mentioned you have access to the play store and apps already loaded such as Netflix and Disney+ and that is probably enough for many folk. You can also plug in gaming consoles which is great for the kids and will keep them occupied.

Check the video review below for a full tour of the device and see what you can expect.

Highlights

Native 1080p, Supported 8K Decoding & H.265
Native 1080p resolution casts more vertical and horizontal pixels and supported 8K decoding with 16.7 million displayable colors for incredibly clear, smooth playback of videos and images. H.265 doubles date compression rate to stream, download, or rip the same quality video to your hard drive at half the bitrate compared to H.264 for clearer images.
HDR 10+, Amlogic Quad Core CPU & Anti-aliasing
HDR 10+ that delivers higher contrast with shades of primary colors and high color depth which is visually impactful. Experience enhanced, sharper image and image denoising with Amlogic T972 quad core A55 CPU, the anti-aliasing can smooth jagged edges in images.
High Brightness, Diffuse Imaging & 2.4G&5.8G 802.11ac & Bluetooth5.0
LCD projector features 1200 lumen high brightness and diffuse imaging for a stunning visual experience without eye stress. Support 2.4G&5.8G 802.11ac & Bluetooth5.0, 5.8GHz supports up to 1300 Mbps, cuts through network clutter disturbance and interference to mirror-cast images with no latency.
Large Throw Distance, Voice Remote Control & Multiple Ports
Experience large screen of 35-200” from 1.8-6.6 meters away; screen size can be adjusted without moving the projector with an included voice remote control in the package. Easily connect to TV box, laptops, game consoles, speakers and headphones with 2x HDMI ports, 2x USB-A ports, 1x AV port and 1x 3.5mm audio port(a HDMI cable is included in the package).
Dolby Audio, Ambient LED & Skew Sensor
Support Dolby Audio including Dolby Digital plus, Dolby Digital, Dolby AC3, together with the breathing light effect, it will bring you a breathtaking cinematic experience. Keystone correction that automatically corrects a skewed image (horizontal, vertical 45 degree, left, right 15 degree)

Tech Review – XGIMI Halo+ portable projector

I have reviewed many projectors and several this year have been 1080p projectors which whilst OK for someone not expecting fantastic viewing do a great job and keep the kids entertained the overall picture is underwhelming when you are into your tech and already own large screen tvs and have other projectors in your home, with this projector however it changes the game completely and not only does it offer a great picture it has great audio and of course access to the play store.

Most projectors today use other methods of installing apps from other third party stores and while it works people prefer the seamless Google option which of course makes it easier to sign in and sync devices and link to your home set up and this is what we get here.

The projector itself is also well built and not a cheap lightweight plastic yet still portable and easy to use with your voice assistant built in which is excellent. The Harmon Kardon built in speakers gives you a real movie experience here and you can also add speakers if you wish to enhance the experience and for me this is what everyone should do.

The question remains though is a projector better than a TV and for me it is a simple yes having several in my house now and one good reason is not having a big lump of a TV hung on a wall or taking up space on a press etc and again most would have their TV in the living room and this is always a centre piece and the highlight of most folks living rooms today and with these getting bigger for me they are an eyesore and I can easily do without and having a little box on a table beside me with everything built in it just makes things cleaner.

The picture quality here is also top notch and it has that LIVE effect, there is other picture settings to pick from and audio settings and of course gaming options at hand so in short anyone can use it in the home, the bedroom or even travelling to a hotel for instance. There is also an option to view 3D content if you have any.

Our 3D feature provides profound depth perception and image fusion thanks to DLP cinema-grade tech used in most cinemas worldwide. With Halo+, you can easily set up a 200” display and enjoy the excitement of your 3D content anywhere, anytime

You can also use it as a speaker and yes it sounds good the video review below demos this and of course the picture quality and not only that you can use it as a music player too so it has more than one function but the image it throws out is what people want projectors for and this will not disappoint you at all, in fact I am super impressed by the picture quality here and the sound and it laughs at the past few projectors I have reviewed.

Above you will see the features and one thing I point out to people is the Lumen count this might seem low in comparison and some had a higher count than this but the brightness was horrific overall..

It has at 1-2-1 throw ratio with HDR 10 that gives out a really bright picture you will notice this immediate and the blacks do not look pixelated like they do in most projectors under a certain price point. Even watching 4K content was immersive and sharp and worked really well with no lag noted either. It has a fast start up, a current one I use takes double the time here and once set up you have auto focus and auto keystone correction, another great feature here is Intelligent Obstacle correction which means if something is in the picture the it will move the entire screen out of the way and readjust itself and this works really well and is a great feature.

The integrated 60Hz motion compensation technology (MEMC) utilizes a specialized algorithm to deliver super-low image blur and latency rates. Even in the heat of any sporting action, your image stays incredibly sharp and clear.

For gamers it has a game mode boost so as mentioned no lag latency or sound delay either, with most cheap projectors you will notice the lag but not the case here this just simply works well no matter what you watch.

You could watch it with sunlight in the room however it is best to watch in a darker environment in fact there is no really need to even pull the blinds down as it is still viewable but again depends on HOW much sunlight is coming in the window. Once dark though you will enjoy a super experience if gaming watching movies or Youtube and also enjoy the sound quality to go with it giving you an experience that will make you not want a TV anymore. You also get around 2.5 hours of battery life without being plugged in here it must be noted.

You also have the benefit of Bluetooth connectivity, USB port and HDMI port so anything can more or less plug into it and of course it has chromecast built in making things even easier. And to top things off we have very little fan speed which is also a notable thing on cheaper projectors this one is basically silent.

Reasons Why Users of iGaming Sites Don’t Switch to Crypto

Online casinos are always willing to adapt to the latest technologies, and adding cryptocurrencies as a payment method was the next logical step to take. Blockchain and Cryptocurrency are some of the biggest buzzwords heard daily. There are about 10 million Bitcoin holders worldwide.

Crypto makes for much safer, more secure transactions. The added layer of protection can reduce the risk of hacking, fraud, and double transactions. One of the main reasons for slow crypto integration is the slow transaction speeds and lack of standardisation. Cryptocurrencies are susceptible to security breaches if your private key is not stored away safely.

KYC/Compliance Issues

KYC requirements were introduced to curb money laundering and fraud. The fear around crypto and KYC is that some crypto sites do not require account holders to verify their identity or address the way financial institutions usually do. Otherwise, this would make identity theft and money laundering easier as the customer’s profile will not be visible.

Decentralised systems are designed to allow customers to keep their identities concealed from the central authorities. Meaning transactions made and are not traceable. KYC requirements do not apply to DEXs, as their users trade directly with each other. Enforcing KYC could help to crack down on ransomware attacks. In 2020 victims paid almost $350 million in crypto to anonymous hackers.

The Complexity of Crypto Purchases for Players

There are two types of crypto wallets, namely, hardware and software wallets. A hardware wallet looks similar to any USB that can be connected to a computer. A private key is used to access the wallet. On the other hand, the virtual software wallet has similar functionalities to a typical e-wallet.

Most of the older generation are not tech-savvy and have already had to adjust to using e-wallets as a primary source for online gambling. They are accustomed to entering their card information to deposit or withdraw their money.

Whereas, now they would have to be educated on how to use a new type of wallet that sends funds via wallet addresses and/or account destination tags, which could be very intimidating for them. Introducing cryptocurrencies will be challenging as they might be stuck in their old ways of doing things.

The Volatility of Crypto Prices

Bitcoin is highly volatile, its price is constantly fluctuating throughout the day and had previously peaked at $20,000 by the end of 2017. Because Bitcoin is a work in progress, the network is constantly going through changes. As it grows, the features and usages grow and change, eventually leading to scalability issues.

Large volatility can also be seen in other cryptocurrencies such as dogecoin, Cardano, Binance Coin, Ether and Solana. These falls give less confidence to those considering using this form of a transactional method when gambling.

Lack of Trust in Crypto-Only Brands

The increased use of cryptocurrencies for online gambling means that the exchange sites are getting new customers, and some become sitting ducks for cybercriminals. These transactions are linked to wallets and not individuals. The anonymity of crypto may lead to customers not trusting the site as transactions are not traceable.

Many people aren’t fully aware of how crypto works which tends to stir up fear of the unknown. Someone who does not have a basic knowledge of how crypto works could easily fall victim to scams. Some people might not understand the risk of storing digital assets and keeping track of their keys. This fear then spirals to people not knowing how to receive their winnings or losing out on their winnings.

Solutions to This Problem

Players want to feel secure when gambling in online casinos, and KYC helps to provide that assurance. Enforcing Know Your Customer (KYC) compliance could assist with curbing money laundering and malicious attacks. KYC protocols are designed specifically to avert fraudsters from creating fake accounts.

KYC models have since become compulsory for online casinos, and they weed out fraudulent accounts. Pass base is an ID verification startup that offers tools where users can upload selfies of themselves and their ID to speed up the verification process. Burrata issues digital identity tokens to attach to cryptocurrency wallets.

Offering No Wagering Bonuses for Crypto Payments

Sign-up bonuses are one method of attracting new players. New players/accounts are given free bitcoin upon signing up without a wager. Some Deps operators offer no wagering requirements and larger incentives for users who choose crypto as a form of payment.

Bitcoin faucets are another way to earn bonuses. These apps or websites help you earn rewards for completing tasks in the form of satoshi. The tasks could be as simple as watching an advert, signing up or taking a short survey. Players can also receive bonuses by referring friends to sign up for daily login.

At first, gambling with crypto can seem a bit daunting, and you find yourself questioning its safety. One of the main benefits of gambling with crypto is you can do it anywhere in the world. So long as you have an internet connection and a digital wallet, you can gamble on your favourite site or apps.

Once you have made deposits and earned bonuses, it is effortless to make withdrawals. There are legit ways to withdraw your earnings; however, you need to connect your wallet to the casino. Most importantly, you must ensure your KYC is verified; if not, you will be prompted to send your missing documentation before any withdrawals can be made.

All you need to do is copy the deposit address from your wallet and enter it on the casino’s withdrawals page. Click validate and wait for the funds to roll in.

Integrating Crypto-Processing Providers

A KYC-compliant gambling operator must ensure that the player’s identification is verified. Players must submit their proof of identification which can be ID documentation and proof of valid physical address. The player’s age should also be verified, and the player should be of legal gambling age.

The verification process comes down to these few steps; Identity verification, Proof of address and Source of funds (confirmation that funds were legally obtained). Online casinos should also cross-check the player’s profile to confirm if they are on any self-exclusion (GamStop) lists. Once all of the KYC protocols are in place, it monitors transactions and makes it easy to find fraudulent transactions. Adhering to the KYC verification can also play a role in withdrawing your winnings. If a player has not been verified, this could negatively impact the withdrawal process.

You will be requested to download KYC documents if you would like to make a withdrawal. At this point, you will be notified if there are any issues with your verification. It is always best to confirm this before depositing to avoid hassles and avoid not receiving your winnings. It is in the online casino’s best interest to verify a player’s identification to avoid a person claiming casino bonuses multiple times.

There are a few simple ways of depositing crypto into your casino wallet. You must navigate the deposits page and select the Bitcoin option. You will then be given instructions on how to complete the transaction. The transaction should be fully processed in a few minutes. Another way is by depositing funds into your casino wallet, and the casino then purchases crypto, which is available in a matter of minutes.

Conclusion

Online gambling is constantly growing and adapting through the ages and with new technologies.

It was only inevitable for online casinos to add crypto as a form of payment. These virtual currencies offer a sense of anonymity which some players prefer, and also low costs on transaction fees. Due to how virtual wallets work, transaction processing times are much faster. Like most good things, criminals always seem to find new creative ways of stealing.

Hence the inclusion of KYC protocols is used to combat fraud and deter cyber criminals from creating fake accounts, hacking accounts and money laundering. KYC aims to give crypto users a sense of safety when performing online transactions. Gambling operators must also check players’ profiles to make sure they are of legal age and not on self-exclusion lists.

An online casino’s credibility is all it has, so it should protect itself by sticking to the KYC standards. Crypto has a long way to go due to the market volatility, the constant up and down and people who don’t see it as a thing of value because it cannot be touched.
