I have tested many earbuds over the years and seen how well the tech has got better in them and how they have gotten smaller in size and getting better features but these have to be the smallest earbuds fullstop nothing comes close to the size of them in my collection but these are not for your music experience they are to help block out the outside world when you need to get some sleep or even peace for that matter and they are half the size of the QuiteOn2, you can see both in the unboxing below for more and if this is the shape of things to come would you like your earbuds this size in general??
These are small no doubt about it and it is great to see how these have changed from their previous iteration and they do just as good a job you do not need any apps you do not listen to music with these it must be made clear you just take them out of the really fancy case they come in and pick the right tips and let them sit in your ears for 15 mins and they get the perfect seal.
Once in you can sit or lie back and forget about what is going on outside because you will not hear it and get along with you sleep or peace and that is how simple this is and how they work, the previous model you had an on/off switch which is gone this time which I liked and was good for testing but this is where some room wa smade to get these to the size they are now which is something else..
QuiteOn2 vs QuiteOn3 techbuzzireland
Some of the most common noises that interrupt sleep are low-frequency sounds from heating systems, appliances, traffic, airplanes, snoring and noisy neighbors. QuietOn 3’s ANC technology eliminates ambient sound by automatically generating opposite waveforms to nullify the low frequencies, resulting in a much quieter and more peaceful environment for sleep.

To ensure maximum comfort, each pair of QuietOn 3 comes with four sizes of eartips. With no wireless setup or connectivity required, and automatic charging in the included case, QuietOn 3 earbuds are always ready to pop in and provide more restful sleep.
The QuietOn 3 earbuds charge in the included carrying case, which contains its own battery to guarantee a full-charge at all times. A single charge provides 28 hours of use, so the earbuds have the power to last all day, or for several nights.
They might seem expensive for some over the traditional method of using cheaper earplugs but they are excellent and look cool and are some piece of tech that comes with a quality charging case too. At the end of the day the big question is do they work and the answer is yes..
Earlier this year we checked out the QuiteOn 2 and I was impressed with how these work, Given they are expensive and one asks how do they compare to traditional methods to block out sound they do a really good job and they have to tested to realise just how good they are. The new model which has just landed are half the size and come in a really premium case and look great and it shows how technology is getting better as time goes on, If this is company can do this I look forward to seeing if traditional earbuds can get this small.
The new QuietOn 3 earbuds are the first earbuds small enough to fit entirely inside the ear, making them the only active noise cancelling (ANC) sleep solution that is comfortable enough for everyone, including side sleepers. The superior comfort and pure Nordic quietude lets users enjoy a good night’s sleep for better overall health and a readiness to tackle each day with a clear, rested mind. According to QuietOn CEO Jussi Lemiläinen, QuietOn 3 debuts at an ideal time – as consumer interest in the benefits of sleep health is at an all-time high, thanks to better sleep education and new tracking devices.
Stay tuned for the full review soon and check out the video below for a comparison to the last model..
Reinforcing its mission to optimize human performance through improved sleep, acclaimed Finnish tech innovator QuietOn™ today announced the launch of QuietOn 3, the world’s smallest active noise cancelling earbud that significantly reduces low-frequency noise to deliver Nordic calm and quietude regardless of one’s sleeping environment.
“Everything that we want in life – professional success, personal well-being, physiological health – begins with a good night’s sleep. And a good night’s sleep begins with quietude,” Lemiläinen said. “QuietOn 3 leverages breakthrough ANC technology to create a better environment for sleep, effectively eliminating the low-frequency noises that so often disrupt our sleep.”
“While white noise machines and other noise-masking devices help with lulling one to sleep, the addition of a new noise to overpower background noises can actually prevent or disrupt deep sleep,” continued Lemiläinen. “QuietOn 3 and its breakthrough ANC technology works to eliminate noise to create a sense of calm and quietude that increases both quantity and quality of one’s sleep.”
Additionally, by significantly reducing the earbud’s dimensions, QuietOn succeeded in making the impossible possible – creating the first ANC earbud that fits entirely in the ear, with zero protrusion. Engineering QuietOn 3 to be even smaller than previous versions was a challenge, but the company exceeded expectations by reducing the physical size while increasing battery life.
The size reduction can be traced to QuietOn 3’s sleep-focused design, which eliminates the need for transmitters, receivers and other components typically found in music earbuds. The lack of these audio-specific components also enables operation with zero electromagnetic field (EMF) radiation.

“The introduction of new technologies like circadian-based lighting and sleep trackers underscore that high-quality sleep is now a central focus of people’s efforts to improve their general health and well being,” Lemiläinen added. “With QuietOn 3, we look forward to joining this movement by demonstrating the critical importance of quietude to sleep performance and, ultimately, overall wellbeing and human performance.”
Have you a noisy neighbour, neighbours that leave their dogs barking outside all day and night, assholes that cut their grass at 8 am in the morning or building going on? Well I do at times and sick of it like many of my other neighbours however you may ask have I tried earplugs and the answer is yes but they do not cut it, these however change the game and use ANC in a different form than we traditionally use it in our headphones and earbuds which blocks the outside world, THESE EARBUDS DO NOT PLAY MUSIC so lets get that out of the way and these cost near 200 euro so are they worth the heavy price to pay? In short yes they are if you have money to spend..
ANC is a technology that pushed up earbud and headphone prices when launched and not it has trickled down to earbuds and headphones costing under a hundred euros and having reviewed the most true wireless earbuds in Ireland there is several pairs we have reviewed costing little that use ANC technology and this also applies to headphones, whilst these may look a bit different to your typical earbud they do look nice and you do not need to pair to your smartphone you do not need an app and you simply place in the ear get the right fit and most importantly the right tip to get the best performance, there is a simple switch to allow the noise in and one to turn it off and once turned off you enter bliss, no noise no nothing. You can even just wear them around the house if you like..
These as mentioned have ambient mode so you can use them in a noisy environment like a bus or train journey or if your office is hectic you can switch off the hustle and get your work done with no interruption. One could also argue there is headsets out there that can do the same which is true however these are dedicated to just blocking the noise with no controls to manage except hearing mode or full ANC mode. Active noise control (ANC), active noise cancelling, and active noise reduction (ANR) are methods where an unwanted sound is reduced by adding another sound specifically made to cancel it out. QuiteOn active noise cancelling earplugs use a microphone to sample the sound, and a speaker to create a phase-shifted sound that cancels the original sound.
How they work.
In QuietOn Sleep, the microphone is located outside, as with many other active noise cancelling devices. This is called Feed-forward Active Noise Cancelling. The internal mic system used in QuietOn Original is called Feedback Active Noise Cancelling. In active noise cancelling, the difference is that the outside microphone has a time advantage over the internal mic which enables noise cancelling to work at higher frequencies. With their first and second models, QuietOn is proud to be the smallest active noise cancelling device on the market today. And just now they have version 3 now on Indiegogo.
If you are one that lacks sleep and wants some more peace in life these are something to check out for me they have helped and have improved my sleep.
Google Nest today announces that the second-generation Nest Hub is launching in twelve more countries around the world: Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Italy, Ireland, Netherlands, Norway, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.
“We know people already come to Google for information and tools to help them live healthier, happier lives, and we’ve specifically noticed more and more questions about sleep, exercise and health. So we decided to bring these kinds of solutions to our second-generation Nest Hub, while also improving what people already love about it” said Ashton Udall, Product Manager at Google Nest.
The Nest Hub you love, but better
The new Nest Hub’s speaker is based on the same audio technology as Nest Audio and has 50 percent more bass than the original Hub. Fill any room with music, podcasts or audiobooks from services like YouTube Music, Spotify, and Apple Music — or enjoy your favorite TV shows and movies with a subscription from providers like Netflix, Disney+ and YouTube. With Quick Gestures, you can pause or play content at any time by tapping the air in front of your display.
The new Nest Hub also shows all your compatible connected devices in one place. And with a built-in Thread radio, Nest Hub will work with the new connectivity standard being created by the Project Connected Home over IP working group, making it even simpler to control your connected home.
New sleep features for better rest
The Nest Hub has always helped you tackle the day; now, it can help you rest well at night. Many of us don’t get enough sleep, which comes with some real risks.
In recent years, sleep trackers have become a popular solution. But we wanted to offer an alternative way for people who may not want to wear something to bed to understand their sleep. And we knew people felt comfortable with Nest Hub at their bedsides thanks to its camera-free design, so we went to work. The result is Sleep Sensing, an opt-in feature to help you understand and improve your sleep:
Understand your sleep: Sleep Sensing uses Motion Sense (powered by Soli low-energy radar technology) to analyze how the person closest to the display is sleeping, based on their movement and breathing — all without a camera or wearable. Sleep Sensing can also detect sleep disturbances like coughing and snoring or the light and temperature changes in the room with Nest Hub’s built-in microphones and ambient light and temperature sensors, so you can better understand what’s impacting your sleep.
Every morning you’ll receive a personalized sleep summary on your display, or you can view your sleep data anytime on the Nest Hub by asking, “Hey Google, how did I sleep?” Sleep Sensing can also connect to your Google Fit app on Android and iOS devices, so you can see your sleep summary alongside your other health and wellness information on your phone.
Get help for better sleep: Understanding your sleep is an important first step, but you may still have questions about what else you can do to get a better night’s sleep. Sleep Sensing helps by providing tailored bedtime schedules and personalized suggestions for improvement, developed by a team of sleep scientists and using guidance from organizations like the American Academy of Sleep Medicine. Compiled after several nights of analysis, these suggestions point you to notable aspects of your sleep, educate you on why those areas are important and provide suggestions to improve.
Built with your privacy in mind: Sleep Sensing is completely optional with privacy safeguards in place so you’re in control: You choose if you want to enable it and there’s a visual indicator on the display to let you know when it’s on. Motion Sense only detects motion, not specific bodies or faces, and your coughing and snoring audio data is only processed on the device — it isn’t sent to Google servers. You have multiple controls to disable Sleep Sensing features, including a hardware switch that physically disables the microphone. You can review or delete your sleep data at any time, and consistent with our privacy commitments, it isn’t used for personalized ads.
Sleep Sensing on the second-gen Nest Hub is available as a free preview until next year. We’ll also be looking for ways to integrate with Fitbit’s sleep tracking features to bring the best of both together in the future.
Even if you choose not to enable Sleep Sensing, you can still fall asleep and wake up easier with Nest Hub. The display dims to make your bedroom more sleep-friendly, and the “Your evening” page helps you wind down at night with relaxing sounds. When it’s time to wake up, Nest Hub’s Sunrise Alarm gradually brightens the display and increases the alarm volume. If you need a few more ZZZs, use Motion Sense to wave your hand and snooze the alarm.
Sustainable design that matches any room
The new Nest Hub comes in two colour options: Chalk and Charcoal. It features an edgeless glass display that’s easy to clean and makes your Nest Hub an even more beautiful digital photo frame. And continuing our commitment to sustainability, Nest Hub is designed with recycled materials with its plastic mechanical parts containing 54 percent recycled post-consumer plastic.
The second-generation Nest Hub will be available for €99.99 from the Google Store from the 4th May, 2021.
