First Look – Xiaomi Redmi 10 from Tesco Mobile

Today we take a first in depth look at one of tesco mobile latest handsets on offer and it is the Xiaomi Redmi 10 which is also a first for me to see, in the hand this handset feels nice and is solid and it is not an expensive device by any means and loaded with a decent spec sheet too, it has got a decent rear camera system on the back with a not so large hump like other brands insist of having there now and moving them around. We have got a 50/8/2 and 2 MP array of cameras on the rear and a front facing camera at 8MP. We also have a large 6.5 inch display and the speakers are decently loud too.

If that is not enough for the camera fans this has also got a 5000mAh battery to power it which is ample enough in today’s standards and also we have got 128GB storage which can be bumped up to 512GB with an SD card. We also have a headphone jack which is not seen much these days, also this has a fingerprint sensor on the side and comes with a charger in the box and a case so you are protected straight away which all in all seems like a decent package..

Opensignal: Ireland Mobile Network Experience Report

Opensignal has published its 5G Global Mobile Network Experience Awards report, which names the world’s leading mobile operators across a range of 5G experience categories. While Opensignal does not name any operator as the ‘best’ overall, this week’s report reveals a strong performance from 3, which wins 12 out of 14 categories either jointly or outright.

  • 3 is top for download speeds: Opensignal’s Irish users observed the fastest average download speeds on 3’s network — both for 5G Download Speed and for overall Download Speed Experience. For 5G Download Speed, 3 scored an impressive 237.2 Mbps, 80.6 Mbps (51.5%) faster than second placed eir’s 156.6 Mbps.
  • Our 5G users on eir spent the most time connected to 5G: eir’s winning score of 16.6% gave it a lead of 5.6 percentage points over second placed 3’s 11%. The higher an operator’s score, the more time our 5G users on its network spent with an active 5G connection. Vodafone is in third place with 5.7%.
  • 3 catches up with eir on upload speeds: 3 and eir are joint winners of the 5G Upload Speed and Upload Speed Experience awards, as the two operators’ scores were statistically tied. This is a change from the previous report, when eir was the outright winner for both awards.

Outside Ireland

  • T-Mobile US is the 5G Global Winner for both 5G Availability and 5G Reach: this means that our 5G users on T-Mobile US spent the largest proportion of time with an active 5G connection, and they also found a 5G signal in the highest proportion of locations.
  • SK Telecom users clock up the fastest 5G Download Speed in the world: our users observed the fastest average 5G download speeds in the world using SK telecom with an incredibly fast 469.6 Mbps. Campaign shot on mobile phones shows real life impact of high-speed fibre broadband for two Irish families

A new National Broadband Ireland (NBI) advertising campaign features two Irish families demonstrating the benefit of Ireland’s National Broadband Plan in their daily lives in videos filmed entirely on their mobile phones. The campaign follows ‘A Day in the Life’ of two Irish families – the Curley family in Co. Galway and the Randall’s Ayle Farm in Co. Tipperary.

The campaign is part of NBI’s commitment to create limitless opportunities through connectivity and access to high-speed fibre broadband for those living in rural communities, where such services are not available commercially. The campaign is running across social, digital and VOD channels including: RTE, Virgin Media and Channel 4.

The videos show the positive impact that high-speed broadband has made for both the Curley family and Randall’s, who have seen massive improvements in internet speeds, and also experience benefits for family’s life, business enterprises and careers.

Peter and Lorraine Randall in Co Tipperary, bought Ayle Farm in 2005 and produce award winning artisan chutneys, granola, and more in small batches. One of the added benefits of the installation of the fast speed solution by NBI, is the security aspect for rural businesses and enterprises. Peter Randall is able to access alerts and live feeds across the farm, “which are things we could never do before”, he says.

Lorraine Randall explained how access to high-speed broadband has meant she could begin working for a global company as one of the conditions was access to “good internet speed so I could work from home”, she remarks.

In the new post-pandemic era of remote working, The Curley Family in Co. Galway echo this sentiment stating that they are saving almost 2 hours of a commute each day by working remotely – leaving more time for family, activities and the children. On the video we see the Curley family describe that “back in March 2021 our download speed was 1.35Mb and in 2022 our download speed is now 640Mb – we now know what a true internet connect is”.

The Campaign development has been managed by Pauline Broderick, Head of Marketing at National Broadband Ireland, who says:

“NBI is delighted to launch  the first phase of our new advertising campaign, illustrating  the real-life impact of high-speed fibre broadband on the well-being and quality of life of those families involved. The aim of the campaign is to allow NBI’s end users to describe their own experience of gaining access to the fibre network, enabling families throughout Ireland to become multi-device households, and to ensure businesses can make use of new technology and open up economic opportunities in the future.

Overall, 1.1 million people living and working in almost 560,000 premises, including almost 100,000 businesses and farms, are set to benefit from access to the broadband network being rolled out by NBI under the National Broadband Plan. The videos give a small glimpse into the real-life experiences and upsides, as a result of the high-speed broadband connections.”

NBI is the company rolling out the new high-speed fibre broadband network under the Government’s National Broadband Plan (NBP). To date, a total of 18,592* premises – including homes, schools, businesses and community facilities – are now connected to NBI’s network, meaning that these premises now have guaranteed access to minimum broadband speeds of 500Mb.

The campaign reflects National Broadband Ireland’s strategic approach to transform Ireland’s broadband landscape. The plan is to deliver quality, affordable high-speed broadband throughout Ireland including areas where such services are not available commercially.

Commenting on the campaign, TJ Malone, Chief Executive Officer at National Broadband Ireland said:

There has never been a more appropriate time to introduce high speed fibre broadband in rural Ireland. During the pandemic, many families were forced to rely on their internet connection to complete daily tasks such as working remotely, home schooling and other daily roles. Remote and hybrid working is still a factor to consider for homes and businesses meaning high-speed fibre broadband is still a requirement in these rural areas. At National Broadband Ireland, we are committed to connecting families, homes and businesses to the network throughout the country.”

Why Flutter is The Next Big Thing in Mobile App Development!

In order to maintain a strong digital presence, mobile app development has become a necessary thing for large corporations as well as SMEs. When it comes to creating mobile applications, iOS and Android are two of the most popular options.

Different kinds of code are required for each of these platforms in order to build applications for them. Clients and mobile app development firms faced a challenge when they realized they needed to create two separate apps for iOS and Android.

Cross-platform application software such as Flutter helps in making mobile apps that can run on a wide variety of systems while still being written in a single language. Flutter has been around in the market since 2017. It has gained popularity because of its features, such as quick and fast app development and upgrades on both iOS and Android platforms.

There are so many app development companies who believe that Flutter development is the next big thing. Let’s take a look at why you should choose Flutter to develop your business’s mobile app.

Why Flutter is The Future of Mobile App Development?

Here are the reasons why app development company prefers Flutter:

Rapid App Development

Since Flutter is cross-platform, it’s possible to use the exact same code for both Android and iOS. This eventually shortens the amount of time required to develop an app. This does not mean that you will require half of the time to develop the app, still, having one codebase for both platforms can help you focus on something else as well.

Updates to Android and iOS Apps Happen at the Same Time

When using a cross-platform development tool like Flutter, you can make apps for both platforms at the same time, so there’s no need to choose or focus on one platform at a time. Keep in mind that Apps for iOS and Android must also be reviewed before they can be made available to the general public.

Simple UI Design

Thanks to sharing the same code between platforms, only a single UI design is required. Cross-platform apps can take one of two approaches: either they completely reinvent the user experience by combining the greatest features of iOS and Android, or they adhere to the Material Design principles with only small tweaks for each platform using Flutter.

Easy Maintenance

Once the app is developed and ready to be released, you need to shift your focus to expanding the user base. In most cases, this means putting the program into “maintenance mode,” where fixing existing issues takes priority over adding new ones.

Normally, companies think about hiring employees when it comes to maintaining the app and fixing any bugs or issues. However, with Flutter, you don’t have to spend any extra amount by hiring other employees as the software is capable of taking care of your mobile app.

Tried and Tested Technology

The first stable version of Flutter was released on December 4, 2018, making it a relatively young technology in the world of mobile app development. However, it has already been tried and tested in the real world by companies like Google, eBay, Alibaba, BMW, Toyota, etc. So, you can trust Flutter while thinking about designing your mobile app for Android and iOS.

Instant Fuschia Support

With the help of Google’s newest operating system, Fuchsia, it is possible to create a production-ready operating system that doesn’t skimp on speed, stability, or security. Fuchsia is a framework that helps mobile app designers and developers create robust, cross-platform apps and user experiences.

The Flutter framework is a useful tool for developing on Fuchsia. If you’re developing a mobile app in Flutter, you can deploy it to Fuchsia on the very first day. As a result, you may see a rise in the number of people who download and use your app right away.

Stable Performance

The Flutter source code is compiled before a mobile app is made available to the public. Because of this, native components can be interacted with without resorting to the web view or the JavaScript engine. Flutter’s code is drawn on the system canvas. This adds even more efficiency to the application. The framework team is very pleased with the fact that they have been able to maintain a stable frame rate of 60 or 120 FPS on a wide variety of systems.

Bottom Lines

You will be amazed to know that some of the biggest names in business have already used Flutter to develop their apps. If you want to make something that can run on multiple platforms, you should consider using Flutter. Rapid deployment, concurrent app upgrades, sharing a single codebase across iOS and Android, and enhanced efficiency are just some of the many advantages. This may be one of the reasons for its ever-increasing fame as a cross-platform framework.

First Look – POCO X4 Pro 5G

Many have been asking us about POCO phones over the last while and we have never had one in and for the money they seem like decent phones for the price so we have asked to try one out and here it is, the POCO X4 Pro 5G which is one of their latest devices now on offer, I would not take too much note about the 5G being honest as the uptake here in Ireland has been very poor and that was thanks to introductory prices and even with them been shelved it still remains the same however many manufacturers now are pushing 5G so going forward they are doing the right thing and plenty of 5G devices on offer today.

Having said that the mid range devices are now seeing plenty of 5G devices now on offer and at launch it was only the high end phones that got the glory which did not pay off to well either and this will eventually trickle down with more availability in entry level phones soon enough.

The POCO X4 5G is an affordable device now available boasting a 109MP camera so how will this compare to others out there and at the price this phone commands, time will tell as we take it for a test run over the next few weeks, with 67W fast charging and a 120HZ amoled panel and a 5000mAh battery just to name a few specs lets see what happens over our test run, and of course any questions drop em below, do check out the video too where we take a deep look inside the features of the phone and see what is on offer, and in our full review we will have image and video samples and more for better context.

It is a really exciting time and we are delighted that we will have Nexi working alongside us – ensuring that we have a trusted partner with world class credentials in digital payments. We look forward to working closely with the team at Nexi in the weeks and months ahead as we work toward our launch.

Andrea Mencarini, Cards & Digital Payments Director at Nexi stated “We were the first in Italy to develop and launch a P2P and P2B service via smartphone with Jiffy and today we feel really very proud of being selected by Synch and are eager to support the financial institutions and payments service providers that will join Synch, to deliver an instant mobile payment solution for Ireland. This is a further, important recognition of Nexi‘s capabilities to launch innovative initiatives by leveraging our know-how, expertise and people and also contributing to accelerating the development of digital payments in Europe.”

Synch, an independent corporate entity, was established in 2020 by some of Ireland’s leading banks including AIB, Bank of Ireland, Permanent TSB and KBC. The mobile game industry will surely continue to develop rapidly to become a lucrative business area. This industry has exceeded all technical and commercial targets. You can anticipate the future of mobile games with an internet presence of over 3 million worldwide players. It’s therefore reasonable to expect an ingenious mobile gaming future. Developing games will help improve the ability to handle the risk and difficulties of the games industry.

Mobile Game Development Trends to Follow in 2022

You must keep a watch out for new advancements while investing in mobile games because there are so many different games accessible, from casually paced games to $1 deposit casinos Canada. Here are a few predictions for 2023’s mobile game development trends.

NFTs and Blockchain based Games

Blockchain technology and blockchain technologies have become crucial to the mobile game business. FT’s look much like another cryptocurrency like ETH or BTC. This nonfungible token is commonly used to tokenize real estate, music, artwork, and other things. Despite these advantages, blockchain technology provides strong stability. Therefore, NFT tokenisation is also possible in some game characters. A further benefit is that they could be used to tokenize trade cards in card games. A number of popular games from the metaverse are “NFT”. The markets of NFT gaming have accelerated. According to the report, the number of digital currency wallet accounts associated with gaming was up by 307,636 in early 2022 from 307,326 in early 2021.

Esports are on the rise

In recent years, mobile gaming has become increasingly popular. It’s possible to view it as an upcoming competition for the professional players and gamers who are interested. Many people in the world have watched or followed these games via direct viewing or watching different live shows. Live streams provide an easy way to watch upcoming games on your PC in real time. The eSport market has been valued by experts at over a billion by 2021 – an almost 50% increase compared to 2021. A further increase of $2bn is anticipated to occur in 2023.

Metaverse

The Metaverse has become an emerging trend, but there is no clarity as to how this will affect gaming in mobile. This year mobile gaming has been joined to the Metaverse enabling enhanced gameplay. Among them are: Fortnite concerts. Various companies like Nike land on Roblox also have gaming worlds built on. Start-ups are preparing to help build a metaverse infrastructure and offer its users the tools for creating and maintaining the metaverse, such as creating real life avatars. Soon it will be more accessible for people with an interest in reading the Metaverse in 2021.

Increased gaming socialization

Mobile game interaction grew as more people became involved via social media. During the pandemic the isolation and constant search for interaction have made mobile gaming an important social area for people. 45% of American gamers use Facebook chat while playing. Most Americans have started a liking for online modes and multiplayer games over single player games. Games developers will benefit from new features such as guilds, social networks, chat rooms, etc. Social media has been gaining popularity among gamers as he has become increasingly popular with gamers.

Cross-platform mobile gaming

Cross-platform games are an interesting trend shaping the gaming industry in 2024. It can also take place across platforms on cellular phones, tablets, mobile phones, and other devices. Players couldn’t play across different platforms for several reasons. In 2021 gamers experience gaming on multiple platforms with Game code-based software. Developers are interested in making the game available to a variety of platforms, including laptop, mobile phones and tablets. The app is made up of cross-platform technology which allows quick discovery of its functionality.

Hyper-Casuals will take the lead

Sensor Tower has published a report titled Industry Trend Report predicting a burgeoning hyper casual gaming trend for 2025 to 3035. Hyper-casual games offer gamers a chance at relaxation without increasing intelligence. The global online gaming industry will forecast growth of 1% by 2019, the company said. Market predictions and assessments thus indicate a high growth of hyper-casual video game industry in 2025. Many famous examples such as Candy Crush Monster Strike and Coin master have quickly become tough competition in game play on PC and console.

Multiplayer functionality

Mobile games can be played in many different formats than a gaming console. Several are accessed and more will become available in 2022. Mobile phone apps are an all-encompassing multi-player game. Recently the world has witnessed a booming multiplayer game craze. In 2022 multiplayer game is expected to become an increasingly prominent trend with the rise of mobile games. Mobile games are intended to help you boost mental energy, relax yourself, or strengthen your relationships. We want everyone to have fun playing on the Internet.

Artificial Intelligence in Gaming

Artificial intelligence can certainly enhance gameplay and playability. AI in games could tell you whether your games are successful. It’s already been mentioned that popular technology is gaining popularity. Ultimately, AR and AI technology will change gaming. AI will be more influential on gaming over the next decade, according to our predictions. AI helps developers create fun games. AI aims to improve NPC learning abilities. NPCs may use artificial intelligence for their responses, making video games trickier.

Mobile Cloud Gaming

Mobile cloud gaming is good for learning how to live. Additionally, the subscription model influences developers’ motivation more. They can also easily integrate certain payment options with gaming strengths. So, a user can build strength and use tools such as Fortnight Candy Crush / PUBG for quick and efficient performances in any situation. Developers’ earnings surely are flawless if they can access remote servers without hardware assistance and access downloadable software from remote servers.

Gaming with Augmented Reality

In augmented reality games, AR can combine graphics and video to create a visual interface which allows a user to experience a game’s content in real-time. Contrary to VR gaming AR uses current environment to create playable environments. You do not require special headsets for AR devices. User can view and play virtual reality games using mobile device. A very advanced example of AR game applications with GPS, smartphones and cameras is Pokémon Go. The system supports location-specific AR environments.

Wearable technology

Wearables is an e-gypsum that uses a sensor that enables users to monitor, identify, and communicate information directly with the user. Fitness rings, wristbands, and smart watches are a few typical wearable devices that utilize wearable technology. Wearable devices are generally connected to wellness and development has also occurred rapidly in the gaming business. You can use an electronic tracker to track games that players are playing. This information enhances the gaming experience of players.

The rise of VR (Virtual Reality) Gaming

VR provides gamers with an amazing experience. Virtual reality headsets enable users to use objects in a locked space. While VR headsets may appear costly at the moment, technology advancement could be used to help reduce their cost. In the future, graphics and VR gaming quality could improve. The future for VR gaming looks amazing as tech giants such as Microsoft, Apple and IBM have already started with similar technology.
