AWS Ground Station is a fully managed service that provides you global access to your space workloads. AWS Ground Station enables you to downlink data and provide satellite commands across multiple regions quickly, easily, and cost-effectively without having to worry about building or managing their own ground station infrastructure. The recency of data is particularly critical when it comes to tracking and acting upon fast-moving conditions on Earth. This timeliness depends on frequent communications between ground stations and satellites, which can only be achieved with a large, global footprint of antennas maintaining frequent contact with orbiting satellites. The AWS Ground Station deployment in Ireland provides a second region in Europe to communicate with your satellite. Stockholm is the other AWS Region in the EU that offers AWS Ground Station.  

Customers can easily integrate their space workloads with other AWS services in real-time using Amazon’s low-latency, high-bandwidth global network. Customers can stream their satellite data to Amazon EC2 for real-time processing, store data in Amazon S3 for low cost archiving, flow data through Amazon Rekognition for imaging analysis, or apply AI/ML algorithms to satellite images with Amazon SageMaker.

Disney+ coming to Amazon Fire TV and Fire Tablets in Ireland March 24th #Disney+ #Amazon #FireTV

Disney+, the new streaming service from the Walt Disney Company, will be available on Amazon devices in Ireland including Fire TV streaming devices and compatible Fire Tablets on March 24th.

Disney+ offers fans of all ages a new way to experience the unparalleled content from the company’s iconic entertainment brands, including Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic, as well as exclusive original programming including feature-length films, series, documentaries, and short-form content made exclusively for the service such as The Mandalorian, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and The World According to Jeff Goldblum.

On Fire TV, finding the Disney+ app and content is easy with Alexa; customers can use their included Alexa Voice Remote, paired Echo device. Disney+ content will be included in Fire TV’s universal search feature making it easy to find and discover content with your voice. When the app becomes available customers will be able to say things like:

  • “Alexa, find Disney+”
  • “Alexa, open Disney+”
  • “Alexa, play [name of show]”
  •  “Alexa, find Star Wars movies.”

Fire Tablet customers can download movies, TV series or shorts, and watch whenever they want. Customers can also pause a show on their Fire TV and resume watching on their Fire Tablet, so they can enjoy Disney+ on the go, wherever they are.

Fire TV and Fire Tablet customers can sign up for a seven-day free trial directly on their Amazon device starting March 24th, after which they will be charged £5.99/€6.99 a month or £59.99/€69.99 for an annual subscription. If a customer signed up for Disney+ on another device, they can simply log into their account.

The Ludos Ultra earphones are their next product after the Clamor that comes with much improvement in looks style and sound too and at a price that is super affordable if you are in the market for a new pair of earphones, These are a simple plug and play with an inline control that offers call control, Volume and play and pause and that is it. Keeping it simple as you do with most wired headphones there is a market out there for them still and the headphone jack is not done yet by any means.

These have got magnetic ends too so they will not dance all over the place when not in use and you can also avail of the carry bag included in the nice case they come in which is a nice presentation for the price,there is no pairing or any of that malarkey going on here either you just pop them in your headphone jack if you have one and if not they work perfectly fine with an adaptor too.

Sound is where it matters though and these really sound good with a bright crisp clean punchy performance with a perfect balance across the board, They do have an element of bass however nothing overlaps with sound nothing stands out over the other with all genres of music and good highs lows and mids and separation like I said these are a simple plug and play with better materials this time around and give decent passive isolation too when plugged in the the sponge memory foam similar to comply foam tips so this overall gives a good feel and sound to your music experience.

You often see earphones in local euro shops and petrol stations now costing up to 20 euros and more and you may skip them as they are total rubbish it is a safe bet to check these out rather than take a risk on a shoddy pair you will find in the mentioned outlets above they are a common scene along with true wireless and generally trash.

Review – The UMI W8 true wireless earbuds. #UMI #TrueWireless #Amazon

The UMI W8 from Amazon are an affordable pair of true wireless earbuds that offer all the needs for those on a budget with plenty of specs to write home about and they do offer similar features you expect to find in more expensive earbuds. Having used these for some time now they fall into the entry level category but offer some things often left out at more expensive earbuds.

The build is plastic and the earbuds are lightweight and the case can be a tad difficult to open at times with micro USB charging and no wireless charging but these would be the only things missing on the case hardware and one other thing missing is no auto pause feature which is fine but they do offer individual charging which for some is a key factor and often left out on more high end earbuds so this is what you have to think about.

The fit is great,they are light and feel cheap at first compared to their sister product and the same applies for the case, The earbuds fit well giving a good seal to begin with which is a great start no matter what. They will not fall out which is also important and you will forget they are there after a few mins use. Overall a comfortable and secure fit offering a deal of external noise isolation too.

Controls are great yet can be sensitive.. You might experience some accidental commands but for the most it is volume which is not bad rather than skip tracks,this is only noted when lying in bed for example which is where I tend to use mine and if your tossing and turning around getting comfortable.. You have volume control, play and pause,skip and reverse tracks,call management and access to your voice assistant which all worked fine during my testing period. Touch based controls can be finicky but these overall fine and on cue.

How they sound is the one thing which people will want to know about here and overall this is good….Overall pretty good,decent volume levels with a nice touch of bass and balanced overall with highs lows and mids, You will not be let down for the money and also there was no lag latency seen on my usual test run, These also shine with Netflix and You Tube giving you a good all around experience both on Android and iOS and if you are into volume they pack a great punch.

Recently there has been a spell of scams doing the rounds via sms with various chain stores attached to the text message but all untrue as we all know . Now we have a new one on the list to watch out for this time claiming to be from Amazon telling you that you have one a new phone and to click a link to claim your prize, All this is familiar territory and style we come to expect from scammers and sadly some will fall for it.. You will be brought to a site that looks exactly like amazon and asked to take a survey which in turn leads you to another site and here is where they get you.

 

Pass it on and tell your friends. The fact the Amazon comes up in the senders box does make it a little tempting and people will get caught out but the more people get wind of it the better and leave these clowns empty handed and then the site looking legit to the untrained eye is a good way to hook people in.  This is not a callback or email scam but one to watch in your sms folder. This site is just out to get information from you such as credit card details etc. Amazon give a guide to help you should you need it. Amazon are aware of the issue.

Review and set up – The Amazon Echo Dot 3rd Gen. #Amazon #EchoDot #Tech

The 3rd gen echo dot has mostly addressed issues of old and packs much better sound and also looks better than previous iterations and looks similar to the Google Mini home but the Amazon is more user friendly when it comes to being a smart hub in your house or office.

You will get the same familiar layout on top again given you will not have to use the buttons much aside muting Alexa from snooping in on your conversations there is an option there to activate Alexa just in case it does not pick you up which has not being an issue for me and is quite good even across a big room it has not failed in that department.

The USB charge port is also gone which might be an issue for some but its no huge deal and it comes hard wired so to speak so you just plug and play and leave it sat where you may want it at any given time once a power source is nearby.

Alexa like before is great for local weather,news and lots more including skills which are added I had several updates on my app whilst trying this out however Alexa compared to Google for the smart equipped home is where it wins and for those with multiple smart devices in house this is what you need for a seamless experience as we now have more smart devices at home than ever such as smart bulbs and kettles etc the list is now becoming endless..

 

The 3RD gen version launched at the same price as the older one and is a worthy upgrade and better again you can pair both for a stereo sound effect with music but it is not as good as standalone speakers but not to be sniffed at either and as I mentioned above you dont have to stand beside it either to get commands going due to far field technology inside.. One thing I would say is do not put it near your radio or TV.
