Tech Review – Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro

The Samsung Galaxy Buds3 Pro are quite simply put the best earbuds on the market right now and some might say that is a bit of a stretch even from me having the biggest collection of earbuds reviewed here in Ireland but I know what I am talking about when it comes to earbuds.

There of course is more earbuds to drop later this year and we of course have others to review but for now these are getting their well deserved first place on my list at the time or writing this review. You can see an unboxing and first look of all of the latest tech from Samsung here if you missed it.

The design of the buds is nice and comes with a nice clear top case that looks well with a nice snappy closure which will keep them safe they have a great fit with the right tips and a small stem with a pointed edge and we also get a light strip which some might find a gimmick, I have seen similar on other earbuds before and headphones so it is not new per-say. To set up the lights can be a task and has to be done each time you take them out. They do make them stand out especially at night.

The touch sensitive controls will take time to get use to if you are not familiar with such if you are one to wear them in bed you will find it a problem but that is me I use earbuds in bed all the time and due to the triangular shape of the stem well you can see what will happen.

Having said that after that these earbuds sound fantastic and for me the best out there right now and once you get comfortable with the controls you will be fine and you can see how they work in the video review below.. These also come with voice commands which is super useful and a feature again I have tried before on some Skullcandy earbuds many times and I find it excellent and keeps your hands free which is a bonus.

The app as seen below only work with Samsung devices but offers a huge array of features and it has a great UI with plenty of customisation and this is what users want when they splash out on expensive earbuds which these are but worth every cent, again we go through this in the video review below..

The Audio, OK I have said it these are the best you can get right now super ANC and Ambient mode clear audio and also these put you right in the center of what you are listening too, for example if you are listening to a podcast you now it is a podcast it feels like you are there same for movies you can easily pick out say if you are sitting in coffee shop or store you think you are there same for vehicles passing by etc etc they are simply great here and you must try the spatial audio and play with the EQ to get the best effects here do not just stick them in your ears without the app full stop.

Overall for me forget the usual Benchmarks Apple fanboys tend to gauge everything with, I use Apple products but to this date I do still not own any of Apple’s earbuds, they have decent battery life too which will vary on your settings and of course can be used with two devices at once which I am a daily user of and switching between both is a breeze.. These are the best earbuds on the market today but only if you own a Samsung device however they are still great if you do not own one.

Vhi launches new Dermatology service in partnership with AllView Healthcare & powered by technology & telehealth

Vhi today announced the launch of a new rapid access Dermatology service for the diagnosis and treatment of most dermatological conditions on an outpatient care basis.

Delivered in partnership with AllView Healthcare, Vhi’s Dermatology service provides end-to-end care for the diagnosis and treatment of medical dermatological conditions including common skin conditions such as acne, lesions, sun damage and melanoma – the most serious skin cancer.

With lengthy wait times for accessing dermatology services, Vhi’s new Dermatology service offers one of the fastest routes to medical dermatology treatment nationwide, with appointments available within ten days for Vhi members. Currently there are more 45,000 people awaiting a dermatology appointment in Ireland with 43% waiting for 6 months or more.[1]

By leveraging cutting-edge telehealth and digital technologies, Vhi Dermatology offers a new path to help meet the demand to treat serious skin conditions. Currently every year in Ireland, over 1,000 new cases of melanoma are diagnosed with non-melanoma skin cancer the most common cancer in Ireland. By 2045, it is projected that the number of cases of melanoma diagnosed among males will increase by 177% and among females will increase by 140%.[2]

New dermatology research commissioned by Vhi shows that 1 in 4 respondents are currently concerned about the impact of sun damage on their skin. Serious skin conditions also appear to be having a negative impact on people’s health and wellbeing. Close to half (47%) of those surveyed reported that they suffered stress and anxiety as a direct result of having a skin condition.

Dr Rupert Barry, Consultant Dermatologist and Clinical Lead for Vhi Dermatology Services said: “Over recent years, there has been a growing incidence of skin cancer and other skin conditions with an increasing number of patients requiring end-to-end care from diagnosis to surgical excision. This trend is only set to accelerate. That is resulting in considerable wait times for patients looking to access dermatology services in Ireland with 1 in 4 having to wait a year or more for treatment.

“The launch of the Vhi Dermatology service will help give patients access to the care they need, when they need it. By cutting lengthy waiting times, we can rapidly diagnose patients with skin cancer who may be currently waiting for an appointment with a dermatologist and treat patients with skin conditions as quickly as possible.

“Tackling long wait lists and providing timely access to care will be pivotal to ensure the long-term health and wellbeing of the population. By providing appointments to patients within days our service provides a faster and more effective approach to the management of skin conditions.”

Teledermatology appointments are available for Vhi members nationwide at AllView Healthcare Clinics and use specialist imaging equipment to record a series of high definition microscopic and macroscopic images of the skin complaint.

Following an initial appointment, AllView’s network of dermatology consultants deliver a diagnosis and treatment plan to manage conditions quickly and effectively. If surgery, biopsy or a face-to-face appointment is subsequently required, the AllView Healthcare GP will explain this to the patient and give them the fast access option of attending the Vhi Dermatology Clinic at Vhi 360 Health Centre, in Carrickmines, County Dublin.

Commenting on the opening of services, Eoin O’Reilly, CEO of AllView Healthcare said: “With demand growing for dermatology services across the country we’re proud to partner with Vhi to support comprehensive access for Vhi members to better dermatology care and treatment. Tech Review – Switchbot indoor home security system

Home security is a must have be it indoor or outdoors and yet I hear today so called security experts stating there is no need at all for indoor security cameras. That is a topic at hand for another day should any security expert want to challenge me on that you can certainly fire away but I feel I will be left waiting the same way I was left reeling hering such on our airwaves more than once and is simply a pathetic comment to make.

The Switchbot indoor setup comes in several packages tailored for your needs or you can customise your own they have several bundles on offer or you can make it your own which is cool but do check out the bundles they have and not only that they are amongst the cheapest out there today and while I say cheap I have tried and tested these and avoid the cheap offerings you tend to see on Facebook that will rope you into subscription plans and below par cameras.

In our setup we have a motion sensor and window sensor on the camera side we have a 1080p pan and tilt a 2K pan and tilt and an indoor camera so i strategically place these around the home and at any entry points I seen where the could be a breach so to speak given I do have an external set up around the perimeter of my house

There is an app for these and no hub required unlike the old days when you did need a hub but you can use one if you like as they have hubs available but the less things plugged in the better these days and we just went on without one and all worked well.. Check out the app below but we have a good detailed video review below to check out what you can do in the app and the features included which is plenty I might add.

With the cameras you are in control and full control it is best to get an SD card to store locally on the device which you can then see on your smartphone or tablet these also work with Google and Alexa for those interested and can be put onto you home hubs if you wish. in the app you have so many settings to pick from which we go into detail with in the video review below but in short this setup is excellent and simple to use an navigate even for a novice there is many parameters you can pick from or customise in the app and overall for me as a whole the system is well thought out and you can get going in literally minutes.

Let’s look at the products we have tried out which give real time notifications but it must be noted you need good WiFi and lag latency can be an issue with any home security package similar and is an issue for me despite having a good plan and speed regardless what my network tells me and handing over my actual speeds and we all know how it works there and on how many other devices are connected to your hub.

With all cameras there is two way audio screen shot/photo capture, pinch to zoom, quality of image and video options, zone detection, recording on the spot and much more..

Check out the video for more below and for me this is easy to recommend and would even consider changing my entire setup to this. So all we need now from them is a video doorbell. One thing I would like to see going forward is not having plugs for all the cameras and go wireless but other than that you should look into their stuff as it is good value and works well.

Tech Review – EMEET Meeting Capsule 360° Video Conference Camera with 8 Mics, Hi-Fi Speaker

When it comes to working from home or the office conference calls can be part of the daily routine and it happens quite often here with myself and having the right tools is essential to do the job at hand but how many tools do you need to get the job done, you could look at this as an all in one package though by looking at it you might not see how it works and this is what makes this piece of kit something different and quite unique and it is pretty cool too.

We have tested many conference kits here and this is the latest offering from the company who strive to give us good products at affordable prices and we use some of their kit still today and they work really well which is something to take note of.

The product itself is super robust and perhaps bigger than one would be use to having at home but maybe no the case in an office environment, it is simple to use with a remote control that is also simple to use and has all the buttons down one side of the device where there is LED status lights on the opposite site and then up top is where the magic happens the 360 degree panoramic HD camera that can be also turned off and muted like the audio when not in use.

OK so how does this work, well there is plenty of AI here involved which is pretty cool and it is a simple set-up and works cross platform and you can download some additional software if you like but there is no need to it is a plug and play product which what people like to see with no hassle to get moving. You have one cable to connect to your PC it will not work with a mobile phone  nor can you ad and external mic and you have on power cable for the device itself so it is not one of those systems that have wires for each individual at the table or product to match.

There is a cool speaker built in too which you can use during the conference calls etc or just even as a personal speaker and it has a good sound with some nice bass built in.

There is 5 modes of use here which covers all aspects.

1. Collaboration Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s collaboration mode, all attendees’ 360° panoramic picture and main 1-3 speaker’ split screens will be shown on the same screen simultaneously. In the split screen, one speaker will be tracked and displayed, and when she/he isn’t talking anymore, she/he will be removed from the screen, ensuring the new speaker becomes the next on-screen speaker. By using this mode, all participants concentrate on not only the speakers but also the listeners.2. Speech Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s speech mode, all attendees’ 360° panorama picture and only 1 speaker’s split slide will be displayed at the same time on the screen. If the former speaker stops talking, the device will automatically center on the latter speaker. Besides, the image can be adjusted via the remote control. In a speech occasion, the conference room webcam is the best choice to deliver the speaker’s expression content.

3. Classic Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s classic mode, people in front of the 180° wide-angle device will be shown in a non-split screen. For a stabler and clearer image, the AI capturing tech is closed here. The webcam with remote control can be used to adjust the image and degree. The classic mode’s FOV (Field of View) is 180/120/60 degrees, being able to be adjusted by the remote control. The conference webcam is great for medium to large meetings.

4. Spotlight Mode

5. In-privacy Mode

Under EMEET Meeting Capsule’s privacy mode, you will enjoy both electronic privacy and physical privacy. To cut off the image transmission, the electronic 360 webcam flips the lens to 0° and the whole physical cap turns to 0°. Meanwhile, the microphone will quit picking up voice immediately. However, the 10W HIFI speaker continues to work to deliver the other side’s voice. Privacy mode is frequently used during your side’s negotiation and decision time.

Overall this is a one stop shop with less cables cameras and more for that important conference meeting be it at home or in the office and it is simple to set up and get going meaning a clutter free environment and excellent quality meetings. 360° videos where added to YouTube last year as impulse for VR technology, with their very own Spotlight Stories and some other extras, the 360-degree live streaming will now be way more immersive thanks to the addition of Spatial Audio.

With Spatial audio build in, the streaming transform into an almost “live experience.

From the announcement we know that some of the artists performing this weekend at Coachella are going to have this almost “7.1 audio” capability.

But for your own enjoyment here’s a sample of what would it sound like:

YouTube has been working with companies like VideoStitch, Two Big Ears, ALLie, Vahana VR and Orah 4i to assure their software if totally compatible with the platform.

So, it will be available on more videos and locations to allow people from all around the globe to enjoy this.

The goal is no just entertainment, as the company also aims to make tours and travel-like experiences available, students can have a tour around the pyramids without leaving the classroom.

We’ve been having 360° videos for long, but now those videos are going to be way more useful for other things besides entertainment.

What excites me most about 360-degree storytelling is that it lets us open up the world’s experiences to everyone. Students can now experience news events in the classroom as they unfold. Now user will be allowed to stream in high quality thanks to the new support fpr 1440p at 60fps resolution, leaving no room to complain about it.

User just need to have a compatible hardware and they are ready to roll.
