Even with today’s technology most of the medical procedure is made by humans, but there’s some cases when that could be dangerous for the patient and doctor. Cases like the Ebola crisis need special measures, that’s why Google has created the “Ebola-proof Tablet”
Doctors Without Borders made a request to google to make them a better tool for work, and so Google answered with this slate housed in a special casing to make sure it could withstand the terrible weather in West Africa.
The Tablet is based on a Water and dust proof Sony Tablet plus it can be submerged in chlorine to kill off any remnants of the Ebola virus, and also have wireless charging built in and rounded edges to avoid rip the doctors suits.
When the alrt start the doctors weren’t allowed to have paper and pens with them for the special suits, and they have to yell the diagnosis and what they see to other person outside the tent, something that always ended up with errors.
Mr Ivan Gayton, MSF’s technology adviser said:
“The information stored on the devices will help map symptom patterns and the open-source technology could be deployed for other disease outbreaks.”
This is a huge improvement on medical tech, we’re getting close to find sources of virus without exposing more life.

The BBC reports the following.
Mobile phone users will be protected from massive bills when their devices are stolen after five operators agreed to introduce a £100 “liability cap”.
EE, O2, Three, Virgin Media and Vodafone have signed up to the measure.
Some customers have faced charges of thousands of pounds because of usage by thieves. The cap will be activated when a phone is reported lost or stolen within 24 hours of going missing.
The government said it had secured a deal with “real benefits”.
The Citizens Advice Bureau (CAB) said the measures would bring “much-needed relief” to consumers targeted by phone fraudsters.
The CAB said consumers regularly contacted them for help after being hit with five-figure bills, with some as high as £23,000.
“We will be keeping a close eye on the phone providers’ caps to see if they do really protect phone crime victims from the worst bills.”
Gillian GuyChief executive, CAB
Between April last year and February the organisation estimates users have lost as much as £140,000 because of bills on stolen mobiles.
CAB chief executive Gillian Guy said: “Victims of phone crime should not be paying excessive bills run up by thieves.
“A cap on bills from stolen mobile phones will come as much-needed relief to consumers targeted by phone fraudsters.
“We will be keeping a close eye on the phone providers’ caps to see if they do really protect phone crime victims from the worst bills.”
Three introduced the protection for its customers in January and the other four operators have confirmed they will follow suit.
Ed Vaizey, minister for the digital economy, said: “By working with the mobile operators, we have secured an agreement that will provide consumers with real benefits as well as offer peace of mind.”
All five firms have also signed up to a new code of practice.
This obliges them to give clear pricing information and alerts when consumers reach data limits, information on how to avoid roaming charges and a barring function to protect users against unauthorised or inadvertent calls to premium rate services and in-app purchases.

Today we travel quite often and often the question appears ,will my phone work over in another country, not only that we are now importing phones into Ireland more than ever, with new OEMs on the rise people are importing mobile devices every day and its popular,a prime example would be the One Plus One,people now buy from Amazon,Ebay or Aliexpress etc in the hunt for good bargains for a new device..
This new tool is quite handy to test if a device you see will work, with a database updated quite regular its keeping people informed as much as possible and its been mentioned a few times on some of our local boards.
Will my phone work
Have you ever asked the question, “Will my mobile phone work with a certain mobile carrier?” Or perhaps you’re traveling to another country and want to make sure your smartphone works there. You could even be selling a cellular phone and need a website to point people to when they ask if the phone works for a certain carrier. WillMyPhoneWork.net can help you find the answer you’re looking for.
Its an easy pain free process to complete which is detailed below…First select a Brand.
Then you can pick a model number and a variant option may apply which will be listed in the drop down menu..
Next up then is to enter carrier and country a list will appear here of what is available so we just used our own network and picked a BlackBerry Passport for a test case..
Then you get the results presented to you in a nice simple to read layout which is very easy to understand.
NOTE
When performing a search, you will be presented with three networks: 2G, 3G, and 4G. A check mark means that the device is compatible on that network and will work. A red X means that the device is not compatible on that network and will not work.
For the technical savvy, we have included the network frequencies that match between the device and the mobile carrier. Also, we consider HSPA+ to be 3G.
Note: Will My Phone Work assumes that your device is unlocked or allowed to be run on the desired mobile network. Certain carriers such as Verizon USA have an “approved list” of devices. This means that although the phone is capable to work on the carriers network, the carrier blocks it. Also, some carriers make frequencies/bands available only to specific regions.
