Gardai warn about Mobile theft in Ireland, common sense can help curb it. #Mobile #Theft

The Gardai today have said that 7000 mobile phones have been stolen since May of last year which amounted to 3 Million euros worth and with most people carrying good high end devices more than ever this is a lucrative crime for Organised criminals and the dumbass opportunists whom we might often see just grab from your hand whilst walking down the street.. Another thing you might also notice is people now carry their phone, credit cards and keys on their phone with specialised cases, this is something I myself have constantly said to many of people with these cases or thinking of buying them DONT!

But they do,they will and it is their own choice and with some of these cases which we actually review they are nice and look well and can be convenient for some. Its now clear that this could one day leave you in big trouble should you be speaking on your device and one of these opportunists grab and run you have lost the whole lot…

With St Patrick’s day coming up it is events like these where criminals flee too and there is also organised gangs on the prowl. There is some tips which the Gardai have advised users which are pictured below, but you can help yourself here too by simply doing some small things such as install apps, one such app you can use is on your desktop is  “track my phone”this can enable you to check your devices whereabouts once you have location turned on, dont leave your phone lying around and keep in a secure front pocket where you will feel it more so than on loose clothing where the criminals can take it out without you knowing… The more organised criminals work in groups and are effective at getting what they want and use distraction tricks to take phones from peoples pockets or left sat on a table but the opportunist can just swipe and run…

To make life that bit harder use the pin lock, use a screen lock and there is apps that actually take snaps too if someone does nick your device, one such app is called GotYa.. The Gardai have also issued a Mobile Phone Prevention Pack on their website too so check it out..

Masquerade – A face swapping app thats addictive,Facebook Just bought it. #MSQRD

I’ve have used some similar face swap apps over the last year,However I just came upon this app called MSQRD or Masquerade which is on Android and iOS and its pretty cool and fun too..

Facebook have recently acquired this app to keep up with the times and this app can be used to create videos and use other faces on your own,the video aspect though is quite cool which then you can share to social media when done..The app is simple to use which is similar to snap chat Once turned on there will be an indicator on screen to help you place your mush in the best position.. and all you need to do is use your front facing camera and either take a snap or video,There is two icons to pick from at the bottom of of your screen,The app also allows you to use your rear camera so you can catch your mates and have some fun without them knowing. The app would suit those who like selfies and want something more than the norm..The app is a little short on selection but they said they are improving the app.. We have done a sample on our new Facebook Page, come say hi there too..

Eugene Nevgen CEO of MSQRD said..

Video communication is exploding. At Masquerade, we’ve worked hard to make video more fun and engaging by creating filters that enhance and alter your appearance. Now, we’re excited to join forces with Facebook and bring the technology to even more people. Within Facebook, we’re going to be able to reach people at a scale like never before. For starters, we’ll be able to bring our technology to Facebook’s audience of nearly 1.6 billion people. This is a scale of audience we never imagined was possible.

Sony with others developing network capable of delivering GB size data by @Tiwaash

In this era of high speed connectivity after Samsung now it’s Sony which has joined the race of developing high speed data transfer wireless network. Sony has announced that it has partnered with Tokyo Tech, Japan Radio and KDDI Labs to jointly develop and implement 40 GHz and 60 GHz wave-based high-throughput wireless access network that combines 40 GHz operation for outdoor networks with 60 GHz operation for mobiles to enable large data size content delivery on the gigabyte scale.

“This system provides a way to introduce a high-throughput communication service to next-generation networks using millimeter wave (mmWave)-based wireless systems and also enables efficient use of the mmWave communication band, which is much less crowded than the wavebands below 6 GHz,” said the company.

In the 40 GHz band wireless access system, the directional division duplex (DDD) system is adopted to perform simultaneous two-way communication on the same frequency and the same polarized wave, rather than the conventional frequency division duplex (FDD) or time division duplex (TDD) methods; DDD doubled the frequency utilization efficiency in principle.

The 60 GHz wireless transfer system using the developed wireless module and file transfer system demonstrated the world’s fastest user data rate of 6.1 Gbps (which can transfer a 1 GB file in 1.3 s). The system enables users to receive large quantities of data in moments, without the low data throughput limitations of current commercial mobile devices.

These partners will demonstrate the wireless data transfer tech through open experiments at the Mobile Communication Workshop held at Tokyo Tech from March 2nd till 4th, 2016.
