You can now insure your Nokia phone with Nokia. #Nokia #Insurance #HMDGlobal

If you are the owner of any of the new Android from Nokia you can now also insure your device too which is pretty neat. Phone insurance though for me in the past has been more hassle than its worth and I am careful with my devices and to date have only managed to drop two devices over the years and I go through alot of phones.

The process is simple and we also note the Nokia 8 is listed but not yer available here unfortunalty. Devices that can be insured are the 3,5 6 and 8 so  if you have any of these you are good to go..

The cost will of course vary by device and you can pick either a 1 year or 2 year plan whichever suits your pocket.. For example the Nokia 6 will have a cost of €27.95 for 1 year or €54.95 for 2 years.

 

If you own the Nokia 3 the cost is €21.45 and €42.95, The Nokia 5 will cost you €24.95 and €48.95 and finally the Nokia 8 will cost you €59.95 and €114.95. You can see the price go higher as the device spec goes up and this is obviously due to parts the screen been most likely the culprit cost burden here.. You will be insured via Allianz

Using the Nokia 8 Dual-Sight camera technology, Anya Hindmarch will capture exclusive Bothies from LFW, showcasing the lead up to and during her AW17 fashion show.

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has partnered with British fashion designer Anya Hindmarch to give fashion fans access to London Fashion Week from backstage to front row, all captured on the new Nokia 8.

The Nokia 8 has a Dual-Sight technology that simultaneously harnesses the front and rear cameras in a split-screen visual. The Nokia 8 introduces a world-first in enabling Dual-Sight video to be livestreamed directly from the camera app to social media channels, Facebook and YouTube. With photos and videos now showing more than one side of the story, guests at Anya’s show will be able to reveal their reactions to the catwalk as the collection unfolds.

Android 7.1.1 Now available for Nokia 3 users in Ireland #Nokia #HMDGlobal #Nokia3

If you are the owner of the new Nokia 3 in Ireland you can now check for the latest update which is 7.1.1 right now. The device came with 7.0 and was behind the Nokia 5 and 6. This will bring some additional features to your handset. HMD did earlier say that the device would get the update and given it’s a week or so late it’s not really an issue and they have delivered the goods which is important for users..

The update is quite large so ensure you are connected to your Wi-Fi as its 748.3MB. The update is rolling out around the world as we speak so you check if you are reading from another region. Be patient as always as everyone will not get it at once as its phased and enjoy the benefits when you do receive it.

Last night we attended a special UK Launch party for the all new Nokia 8 which features a first called #bothie mode, There was multiple units on display in several colours so it was nice to see a good range to get my personal choice in check for my unit. The event took place in London in a downstairs bar called BEAT London. Most if not all where impressed by the new flagship device which has almost the same footprint as the Nokia 6 and feels good to hold in hand and looks great and sporting good specs for its asking price you can also bag a FREE Nokia Steel with the likes of CPW and if you want to add nice straps you can do so HERE

You can pre-order it from Nokia.com, EE, Carphone Warehouse and Virgin. The Nokia 8 will be available to buy in the UK on 13th September 2017 from Carphone Warehouse, EE, Virgin, Amazon, John Lewis and a range of high street and online retailers. It comes in two colour options – Steel and Tempered Blue – starting at £499.

Also at the event there was some really cool quests performing their arts and having head to head competitions and getting some great attention from the guests at the event in BEAT London. Unfortunatly  the night did have to come to a close but it was a great event and London is a great city with lots to offer. As for the Nokia 8 launch date in Ireland,well that has been kept tight lipped but we will know very soon and report back with that information.
