Pebble goes round with a new smartwatch. #Pebble

Pebble has already several watches on offer but they are all fit to be square,They are called Pebble Time Round and are thin at just 7.5mm and very light weighing in at 28grammes and come in two band sizes which are 14mm or 20mm.Pebble are simple smartwatches and do not offer what others do like the Moto or Samsungs do but this is ideal for some and not for others, but for $249 is it worth it or is just just another fashion statement ?

You won’t believe it, but there’s a #SelfieSpoon By @VicenteA_George #Selfie #Cereal #Photo

OK, let’s start by saying this: Things are going out of control!

If you’re a assiduous reader you’ll know by now that neither Jim or I are fans of Selfie sticks and similar, even though that we’ve published some articles regarding this area.

Now the Selfie market has a new addition, meet “The Selfie Spoon”

Apparently someone wants to take the Food Photography to a whole new level, now you can do more than take a photo to your delicious breakfast, you can capture your face while eating.

Is practically a normal Selfie Stick, extends over 80 cm with a holder at the end for your phone, but in this case the other side has an extra….. A spoon.

The company behind this invention is no other than Cinnamon Toast Crunch a cereal company that apparently, hasn’t anything else to do.

You can order one for FREE just paying shipping and handling

See it in action:

If you want one for yourself go HERE

And if you do, please let us know in the comments what you think.

You really think we should let this “Selfie Fever” going that far?

#LG announces the all metal made LG Class By @VicenteA_George #Android #LGClass

We’ve heard a lot about this “all metal” LG phone is the past days, but today LG Korea has made it official.

Introducing the LG Class

With all the bells and whistles we’ve heard about a new “Top of the Line” phone from LG the expectation grows for today possible announce of the rumored G4 Note, but what we have if a mid-range phone with a “premium” look.

The Class combine what we love the most about LG design language and that premium feel that All Metal phones have.

Take a look a the specs:

Screen: 5″ inch (1280 x 720)

Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410

RAM: 2 GB

Memory: 16 GB with 2TB external SD card support

Front Camera: 8MP

Rear Camera: 13MP

Battery: 2.050 mAh (Non removable)

Size: 141 x 71,8 x 7,4 mm

OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG UX 4 on top

Connections: 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi,1W Speaker, FM Radio

There you have it, if you want a “Premium Looking” phone but are in a budget the Class is your better call.

The downside of the story is the fact of the Class being sold in Korea exclusively at the moment, with no info about whether or not is going to be available overseas.

Although you can find the phone at the local market, you can buy the phone unlock and use it (needs to check carrier bands though) for just €301 or $339

Even though the nice look and feel of the phone, the internal are not so premium at that price tag could be a little excessive.

What do you think? Is it “good looking” enough to bring it home from abroad?

Let us know your thoughts in the comments section.

#Google #Microsoft #Mozilla & #Netflix are just some members of “AllianceForOpenMedia” By @VicenteA_George #Media #Codecs

We live in an age when almost everything is located on Internet and every day more and more of our Media are at some point, unplayable due to some “Format Restriction” of any kind.

Well, soon that’s about to end thanks to the recently announced Alliance for Open Media.

Starting on September 1st Seven of the most greatest Media creator have created this “Justice League” of Formats and Codecs for video and media in general.

“The Open and royalty-free format for next-generation
ultra high definition media”

Amazon, Cisco, Google, Intel, Microsoft, Mozilla and Netflix have made partnership into this Open-Source Project to reach to ultimate goal of “develop next-generation media formats, codecs and technologies in the public interest.”

Something that really complicate media consumption in the format of the video we’re trying to see.

For example:

For using MPEG-2 or MPEG-4 formats, a royalty must be paid to MPEG LA.

Mozilla has Daala

Google is has on VP9 and 10

Etc.

That’s why should not come as surprise that this guys wanna save some money and as result we have a more persistent and pleasant usability of video formats.

What they want to do as main task is to create media:

Interoperable and open.

Optimized for the web.

Scalable to any modern device at any bandwidth.

Designed with a low computational footprint and optimized for hardware.

Capable of consistent, highest-quality, real-time video delivery.

Flexible for both commercial and non-commercial content, including user-generated content.

(Something worth the mention is Apple absence in the group, which is easily explainable.

Apple owns QuickTime and they need to pay anyone to implement videos on  iTunes or Apple TV.)

The license name will be Apache 2.0 and will work under the W3C patent rules.

If you want to know more about the project you can go HERE or follow them at @a4omedia

Archos announces the 5.5-inch Diamond Plus. #Archos #IFA2015

Archos have announced a new 5.5 inch phablet although the brand would not be that familiar here in Ireland it would be more so in  other regions ,this device does have a Huawei look to if if you check this walkthrough“There’s no reason customers should have only one model option in our quest to offer 4G/LTE smartphones to a greater public. Offering a larger-screened product with a slightly different design gives ARCHOS customers more diversity and choice,” says Loic Poirier, CEO of ARCHOS.

The ARCHOS Diamond Plus offers all the hallmark traits of the prestigious Diamond line — an Octa-Core processor, 4G/LTE connectivity, great cameras, and more — in a new silver design featuring a gorgeous 5.5” inch FHD IPS screen with full lamination. Sleek, thin, with a slightly curved silver back-casing, the ARCHOS Diamond Plus is immediately eye-catching, especially with its bright screen illuminated.

The Octa-Core Cortex A53 1.5GHz processor in the ARCHOS Diamond Plus smartphone is among the highest quality hardware available in smartphones today. With industry-leading power, this processor seamlessly powers apps, games, and web browsing. All of this content can be stored in the roomy 16GB of storage in the device, which is easily expandable up to 32GB with a MicroSD card.

It also has fast charging capability to be fully ready as soon as possible. Its two cameras clock in at 16MP for the back camera and 8MP for the front camera. A fiveelement lens of the back camera prevents distortion, and the very wide angle of the front camera is perfect for selfies.

The  Diamond Plus will be available in November 2015  for £179.99
