Train Track was developed by Jessy Conroy which gives real-time info on Irish Rail times and much more… Jessy tells us why the app was created.
“Basically the reason I developed the app is because I’ve seen similar apps that are on the play store and I said to myself…”Hey I can do better than that!” The Android Play Store gets a lot of slack for having low quality app compared to iOS’s app store. I want to change this. I’m utilising lots of Android Lollipop features and have included little playful animations in parts of the app to try keep the user interested and engaged.
I travel daily using Irish Rail from Portarlington to Dublin and the funny thing is that Train Track was almost entirely built and inspired while commuting and gazing out from the framed carriage windows at Irelands landscapes!.”

Illegal dumping has always been a problem but over the years with systems such as CCTV you would think it has eased off,apparently not,people move along and find somewhere else to illegally dump rubbish and more,an attributing factor to this is of course charges and they are reportedly going up next year again with stopping the flat charge and moving to a “charge by weight” system.
Featured on Countrywide on over the weekend there was talk of a new app,one I have not heard of and its got to do with PureProject1 so its worth letting more people know about the app. I hate the sight of rubbish on the side of roads myself or anywhere for that matter.
This App makes it really easy to report environmental pollution (Republic of Ireland only) with the GPS location and a photo submitted at the touch of a button.It is a simple app to use with easy steps to follow..All you need to do is take a photo add some details and thats it,then press send.
The app will send the GPS coordinates and will make it easy for those investigating to locate the problem. This will allow your local County or City Council to follow up on the complaint.

You can also use the App to make a phone call to the National Environmental Complaints Line 1850 365 121. The phone line is open 24hrs a day, 7 days a week and all calls will be answered by dedicated staff. The details of the complaint, such as location, nature of the complaint, will be recorded and passed to the relevant local authority, and followed up by them, the Gardaí or the EPA as appropriate.

I share my location while I’m in Los Angeles and talking with my cousin in London, still under the rain (any use of existing “clichés” is purely coincidental). By the way, what time is it over there? Don’t worry, Shuff indicates to you the local time of your friend with whom you are conversing, if he or she is long distance or abroad.
The App itself.. Shuff is a real-time messenger app which allows you to see word for word what the person at the other end is typing,this factor I like and think its a great idea,personally im not one to spend all day sending text but this is something I like nonetheless.Another great feature in the app is that it shows you the local time of the person too,this is also good,if only something like this was on Twitter as I spend most of my day conversing there and its with others from all over the world…
Shuff is an app with no history. Only the last sent message of your conversation appears. But you can “favorite” a message with an up-swipe, and find it later in the Favorites menu.
Create masterpieces with your friends in the Drawroom. Everyone can draw on the same board, using different brushes and colors. You can also share your best pictures.

Kids love to save money and the traditional piggy bank is quite popular and very common amongst kids these days but that is still all too tempting to break open and dip into the savings,there is now another alternative called Piggy Smalls and its an app,this way at last ensures your child cant dip into their savings and perhaps learn the value of money,at the end of the week/month you can then give your child some hard real cash to the amount you have given over whichever period suits..This also is another way of having no coins lying around them house which can be annoying at times.
Here is how the app works and its quite simple..give it a go and tell us what you think of it.
1. Every week (or whenever you want) you send a package of money to your kid, from the same app
2. The child opens the package and drags the coins to the piggy.
3. When the child needs real money, you as a parent give him/her real money, and remove the same amount from the virtual piggy. Or you might want to move real money to the child’s own account whenever a certain amount of virtual coins is saved.
The parental functions (adding/removing piggies, sending/removing coins) are protected by a pin code that you create in the beginning so there is no worry about the children getting to do something they are not supposed to.This is a nice built in feature as kids are much more clever these days with the amount of technology that surrounds us.
