There are many photo editing apps available today and they are quite popular and I use many myself but these are basic editing tools but nonetheless good and do what they say on the tin and are quite effective,such apps are PhotoFunia,PicsArt and PhotoLab.This App is different and not for everyone (just yet) but given time I can see it being popular and once you understand the idea of the app you will see why..If you are an Arty type well this is right up your street..

 

There is a new app in town called Dreamify which is now on Android and iOS (updated- iOS app launched on 21/8/15)which transforms your photos in an entirely different way and Dreamify transforms your photos into otherworldly masterpieces. Using Google’s Deep Dream, Dreamify puts you in control: select from a dozen presets, or toggle the algorithm parameters to innovate on your own. Share your faves with other users and friends on Facebook, Twitter and other social networks or via text or email.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation where you really wanted to send a message but couldn’t get a strong signal or a good data connection?

All of us have been there, at least once, and this is where FireChat finds it’s place.

FireChat is an Android and IOS app the allows you to send and receive messages without data connections or celular signal.

How does it work?

FireChat creates a mesh network using P2P Bluetooth and WiFi, transmits messages and images without connection between devices that are located about 70 meters away from each other.

It turns your phone into a repeater antena, Leaving the WIFI and BT on the app uses that signal to “Hop” between devices until it reaches the recipient.

Therefore, the more people that use the app the better and faster network becomes, users form a network that increases in size with the number of devices. Allows messages jump from one device to the next. You can cover a practically the entire city with just 5% of the population using the app.

(perfect for the Z apocalypse don’t you think? hahaha)

There are two sides on this messaging app, Public Messages and Private Messages.

The public messages are visible to all, the private ones are encrypted and only the sender and the receiver can read them.

Now, imagine your kid went for a summer camp, normally they go to places where there’s almost ZERO connections, and as a parent that’s something that concerns you about. Well, with this app, if all the kids on the camp installs the app, they can create “their own network” and they can track each others if anything happens.

Worth the try huh?

Unfortunately nothing is perfect, and FireChat is not the exception, You don’t need to use your personal details to log into the app, you can use it anonymously. But, you’re going to need Internet on the first Log.
Although, once done,it works really well!

Back in my school days I always remember the Milk-man dropping off the milk to my house and indeed my school and things have pretty much changed since then as technology grew fast the House calls from the local milkman also started to taper off,In my time at school I remember we had those bottles we used to puncture with our pencil or thumbs,it was nice to talk to the delivery guy at school and at home but this has almost vanished here where I live but perhaps its a stronger presence in countryside,but now there is a comeback for the traditional way which seems to be a great idea..the fact is its not only milk its also there for dairy produce too..

Viber for Android and iOS gets a big update,Windows Phone left out. #Viber

Viber has got a notable update today on the Android and iOS platforms however Windows Phone has been left out in which the app still lags behind in general and performance so when it will get updated is anyone’s guess and nothing new for Windows Phone in General when it comes to updates with official apps.The update also brings more payment options to the app, making it even easier to purchase credit for using the app..

 

Other changes included in the app is animated stickers which seems to be quite a joy to hear for some,age dependent this is fine but as a user I find them annoying at times but that’s just my opinion..

  • Increased sharing functions: Users can now share phonebook contact details as a Viber message. Recipients can save the contact info directly to their phone’s contact list through the app.
  • Rich links: When a user shares a URL, Viber will automatically create a message bubble with a thumbnail image from the site they are sharing.

The spammers are back again,this time its WhatsApp and prior to this its been Viber which is still an ongoing issue.These guys do not give up,you can of course block the number but it will not stop them..Recently Dunnes stores also had a similar problem only this time it was SMS,  Between SMS and messaging apps this is a low cost exercise for there spammers…

DO NOT OPEN ANY LINK…. Just delete the message straight away no matter how attractive it looks……. Facebook now allows everyone in Europe to add a legacy contact #Facebook #SocialMedia

What happens to your social media when you die ? Many people often wonder this but social media is something thats talked about most and in recent times digital legacy companies are on the rise to allow users to suggest people to manage your Facebook or Twitter accounts for example..Facebook did however introduce this option to add a legacy contact some months ago but was only for users in the USA,now its for everyone in Europe.

 

 

What is a legacy contact?

A legacy contact is someone you choose to look after your account if it’s memorialized. Once your account is memorialized, your legacy contact will have the option to do things like:

  • Write a pinned post for your profile (ex: to share a final message on your behalf or provide information about a memorial service)
  • Respond to new friend requests (ex: old friends or family members who weren’t yet on Facebook)
  • Update your profile picture and cover photo

You also have the option to allow your legacy contact to download a copy of what you’ve shared on Facebook, and we may add additional capabilities for legacy contacts in the future.

Your legacy contact can’t:

  • Log into your account
  • Remove or change past posts, photos and other things shared on your Timeline
  • Read messages you’ve sent to other friends
    Remove any of your friends
