Kokoon to launch world’s first sleep aiding headphones in US at CES. #Headphones #CES2020 #Kokoon

Today, digital health experts, Kokoon Technology, announces the US launch of its Kokoon Relax headphone. Kokoon combine bio-metric data and AI to deliver personalised audio to aid and protect sleep and relaxation. Following the fulfilment of 23,000 pre-orders, the headphones are now available at selected retailers and from Kokoon.io and Amazon.com for $349.00. Developed with staff at Europe’s largest sleep laboratory, the headphones combine bio-sensing with adaptive audio within an ergonomic noise cancelling headphone to provide personalised, bespoke assistance to help people switch off and relax.

‘Always-on’ technology is driving chronic problems with sleep. Now classified as “a public health epidemic” by CDC*, according to NHS Choices 1 in 3 people in the UK are affected by insomnia with 50% of us in a recent survey by Mintel reporting struggles with sleep. Each of us will, at some point in our lives, experience struggles with sleep, be it that long uncomfortable flight or struggling to switch off after a busy or stressful day.

Kokoon was founded with the mission to become the non-pharmaceutical, digital ‘go to’ for helping people relax and sleep easier. Kokoon’s founder Tim Antos struggled with insomnia himself. After attending many sessions at a sleep clinic he wanted a more convenient, cheaper way of getting access to the insights and techniques he was introduced to. “I wanted to make all this knowledge, all these great tools I learnt in the sleep clinic more accessible to the everyday consumer to use on their own terms”.

The Kokoon app features techniques, tracks and concepts developed with sleep professionals to optimise the chances of falling asleep. Many of these techniques feature in a form of talking therapy known as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, or CBT. CBT is an evidence-based therapy generally regarded as the gold standard treatment for insomnia with a proven success rate.

Kokoon uses these techniques to help users by delivering a customised content experience developed for the individual using the sensor data gathered from their body and environment. For example, as a wearer falls asleep in a headphone, audio changes in response, fading out the content and introducing white noise to mask out disturbances. The system also tracks what’s working for a user then personalising content for greater effect.

Kokoon’s first product, the Relax Headphone, features world first innovations in sensing and comfort. The Flexmould™ Comfort patented design helps Kokoon headphones mould to the shape of the users head to be comfortable wherever they are worn and thanks to the high quality natural fibre fabric, air flows easily through the ear cups to keep the wearers cool and comfortable. The ear cushions can also be detached and washed to be kept fresh and clean. Kokoon’s Sleepguard technology quietens as the wearer falls asleep whilst the EEG sensors measure the wearer’s brainwaves, motion, heart rate and environment tracking to learn what is helping them rest and relax.

Targus Introduces Sustainable Laptop Cases at CES 2020. #Targus #CES2020

Targus, a leader in laptop cases and mobile computing accessories, today released its latest collection of EcoSmart® laptop bags at CES 2020. Made from recycled components, the new Cypress EcoSmart Collection is certified by Global Recycled Standard (GRS) and aims to reduce the number of plastic bottles destined for landfills by utilizing them in the bag production. The bottles are cleaned, flaked, re-polymerized and spun into fiber that is woven into the fabric that is used for the bags. The Cypress EcoSmart Collection encompasses 33 products, including backpacks, briefcases, sleeves and slipcases, and will be on display at Targus’ CES booth in the LVCC, South Hall, Booth #31147.

The Cypress Collection is Targus’ third collection for its EcoSmart line. Jabra announce the Elite Active 75t. Made-for-Active Lifestyle with the Elite Active 75t #Jabra #CES2020 #EliteActive75t

Jabra, leader in personal sound and office solutions, announces the Elite Active 75t earbuds – the active lifestyle edition of the recently announced Elite 75t earbuds. Like the original, the Active version brings the same great calls and music that is now expected from Jabra but is optimised for work-out and fitness use. The Active edition is enhanced for durability and is the latest in Jabra’s winning portfolio of true wireless earbuds.

The Jabra Elite Active 75t is 22 per cent smaller than its predecessor, the award-winning Elite Active 65t. Built with a durable coating providing optimised grip, the earbuds are also dust and sweat resistant, while simultaneously extending battery life by 89 per cent (up to 28 hours). Noise isolation

Dublin Smartphone Film Festival is now in its third year. Ireland’s only International Film Festival dedicated to filmmakers exclusively using mobile devices (Phones & Tablets) takes place this year on the 25th January 2020.  The festival will screen a selection of short films, documentaries, animations and music videos, along with an educational workshop.

 

With over 200 entries from more than 25 countries,  Awards Categories include Best Fiction, Music video, Documentary, Animation, and Best 360/VR film with entries restricted to no longer than 15 minutes in length. The festival programmers have assembled an outstanding program with strong original concepts and inventive use of the technology. This year they have teamed up with Teeling Whiskey and Pair Mobile t put together the event with outstanding prizes from Feiyutech Ireland, Shoulderpod, Axisgo, Indievice and Shoulderpod to provide amazing prizes for our category winners!!!

Tech Review – The Groov-e Ultra headphones with Wireless charging. #Headphones #Tech

Groov-e is a brand that brings affordable tech to the masses and does not dip on quality either for the price bracket, their latest headphones have just dropped and I have been testing these out for some time now and for the money if you like a little bass and super easy to use controls these are worth a look. Comfort is another factor here with soft cups that give great isolation off the bat.

Mostly made with plastic they do feel a bit cheap but light but overall you cant complain they deliver a nice tone of sound mostly being deep and with bass with 40mm drivers they are loud and pleasing overall no matter what you might listen to be it music, Netflix or You Tube also to note there’s no lag latency. What I love most on these it the controls which you will see in the video below and how easy they are to use, none of this double triple tap rubbish to change tracks and volume etc. You get around 30 hours of music playback and you can of course opt in for a wired connection should you run out but these also come with wireless charging which you don’t see at this price, Simply placed on a wireless charger and you are good to go. Wireless charging with the Apollo light is one example and lives at my bedside locker and is designed to be as easy as possible. Users simply place compatible devices on the 5w charging pad to start powering up the battery immediately.

Apollo’s light utilises three LED modes; warm, warm white and cool white enabling the user to tailor the light tone as required. Whilst, a dimmer function means the brightness can be adjusted up or down too. For those that like tunes before bed or to get them through the working day – Apollo also has an integrated Bluetooth speaker.
