Irish-based studio Outlier have just announced that the first playtest of their newest game, Kitman will open on Saturday 30 May.
This playtest will be open to anyone who signs up via the game’s Steam page.
The playtest will run from 30 May until 3 June, and will give players the first chance to feed into the development of this highly anticipated title that has generated approximately 50,000 signups since it was first announced.
Kitman is a 1-4 player job simulator set in the backrooms of a soccer stadium.
Players will step into the role of an exuberant little equipment manager who must run the team by running the locker rooms. Polish boots, assign gear to players, and mend damaged kit, all while ensuring that the floors are clean and the bathrooms sparkle.
There is also a strategic layer to the gameplay of Kitman which sees the player surreptitiously taking on the role of team manager to change up formations, scout new talent and lead their club to the top of the league tables.
Once the plans have been made and the team has been prepped, the Kitman must support the players on match day by supplying fresh kit and cleaning damaged gear on the fly. A single untied shoelace could be the difference between victory and defeat.
Kitman can be enjoyed solo, or by up to four players in online co-op.
With their previous games This Means Warp and Mars Attracts, developers Outlier have heavily incorporated playtesting in extensive player feedback in the development process, and Kitman will be no different.
Feedback from the Kitman playtest will be used to shape the game into the fun-filled sports management experience that fans are looking for ahead of a full release of the game later this year.
