New iOS App: Easily Control LG TV With iPhone or iPad

MeisterApps, a leading mobile app development company, announces the release of LG TV Remote Control Plus + app for iOS devices. The revolutionary app is designed to replace traditional remote controls, allowing users to control their LG Smart TVs with their iPhone or iPad.

MeisterApps Releases LG TV Remote Control Plus + App for iOS Devices

The LG TV Remote Control Plus + app provides users with an easy and fast keyboard to facilitate searches and a large touchpad for quick navigation. The app also has an auto-detect feature that recognizes LG Smart TVs on the same Wi-Fi network, making it easier for users to connect and control their TVs. Additionally, users can launch channels and apps directly from the app, switch channels up and down, adjust volume up and down, and mute and unmute their TVs.

The app can be downloaded for free in the Apple App Store. It supports current WebOS LG TVs and older LG Netcast TVs, ensuring that users can control their TVs, regardless of the model. With the LG TV Remote Control Plus + app, users can say goodbye to lost remotes, save time, and enjoy the latest technology. The app also eliminates the need for changing TV remote batteries, making it an eco-friendly choice.

The LG TV Remote app offers an extended range of operation for users thanks to its Wi-Fi connectivity. The iOS app allows for remote control of the TV from a distance, enabling users to operate the TV from other rooms in the house. The enhanced connectivity of the app eliminates the need for users to be in close proximity to the TV, providing a seamless and convenient user experience.

We are thrilled to announce our latest breakthrough in TV remote control technology that offers unparalleled convenience,” said Elard Tissot van Patot – marketing director for the company.

The conventional physical remote control has well-known limitations, in that it also lacks a keyboard. With our app, users no longer need to navigate through an on-screen keyboard or painstakingly enter search terms one letter at a time. Instead, they can simply enter the search terms using the keyboard on their mobile device, saving time and effort. It is an incredibly useful app for every LG TV owner.

The LG TV Remote Control Plus+ app can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store. Users can upgrade to premium to get all features and remove ads.

1080p VS 720p: Which One Should You Invest In?

According to most people, there is little or no noticeable difference between 1080p (full HD) and 720p (HD). However, if you pay close attention, you’ll definitely notice that 1080p gives a smoother and clearer image. As a matter of fact, for the last few years, 1080p projectors such as Wemax Dice have become popular and more available on the market.

These projectors perform better than before, with more advancement on every new product release. However, they aren’t the only contenders; 720p projectors also receive some attention from consumers. Unfortunately, they aren’t as popular in media as they used to be, something that has resulted in their price surge to $1,500, with others selling at $1,000. Despite this, 720p projectors still deliver impeccable picture quality for the budget.

So, the main question here is: which one is better, between 1080p and 780p?

Obviously, many consumers prefer 1080p projectors, and it is for valid reasons. So, if you want the best and high picture quality, 1080p will be perfect. These projectors give you the highest resolution, better contrast, black levels, and video processing. Some of these qualities you can’t find in cheaper models. But, if you’re working on a minimal budget, a 720p projector will serve you well.

720p Is Better for DVD and HD Sports Broadcasts

Here’s why 720p might be a better choice. For starters, most people still watch standard definition DVDs, while a few have upgraded to Blu-ray. Probably this is because there are plenty of DVDs out there, while Blu-ray discs aren’t as many. Therefore, if you use DVDs as your viewing material or HD sports on broadcast HDTV, 1080p projectors won’t do you any good. Regarding image quality, they will only produce what the 720p produces. This is because all HD sports broadcasts from ESPN, Fox, and ABC are usually in 720p. As a result, they will look as clear when displayed on a 720p projector. So, if you have a 1080p projector, it won’t make these broadcasts appear better or higher in terms of resolution simply because the signals are up to 720 lines of video information per frame.

On the other hand, standard definition DVD has 480 lines of video per frame. If you’re using a 720p projector, the signal will be rescaled to 720 lines, while on a 1080p projector, it will be rescaled to 1080p lines. What this means is that if you’re using a high-quality DVD player or processor, there’s a possibility that the images on the 1080p projector will be better than those from the 720p projector. But the difference isn’t noticeable unless you pay close attention. That’s because a DVD’s picture quality is limited to 480 lines per video information frame; therefore, the source doesn’t utilize the full resolution power of any of the two projectors.

720p Is Better for Prime Time Television Programmes

Although a high percentage of the population is interested in DVD and HD sports broadcasts, the remaining few have their preferences. Probably you prefer watching prime-time television programs on NBC, CBS, and other networks. Such types of broadcasts are usually in 1080p. Newer versions of 1080p projectors don’t have the ability to make this type of programming any better than 720p projectors. As a matter of fact, there is no difference since once the 1080i signals get into the 720p displays, they look better than you can imagine.

But, there might be a minor difference in the image quality from 1080p projectors. They produce a sharper image from HDTV 1080i broadcasts, and this is due to a higher resolution that you might notice, depending on how far/close from the screen you’re seated. Bottom line is, by using a 1080p projector, you’ll only get a slightly better picture than from a 720p projector. So, if you’re working under a tight budget and looking for a projector for DVD and HDTV use, a 720p projector will give good results.

Looking for the Best Possible Video Picture?

If you’re looking for the best possible video picture quality, you should get the 1080p projector. You might also need a Blu-ray player to make it better. By now, Blu-ray is the best video source on the market, and it comes with a full 1920×1080 resolution per video frame. The pictures look better when displayed on a 1080p projector. So, suppose you are a video fanatic who is ready to spend money on video technology. In that case, you should consider getting a Blu-ray player and one of the newly released projectors, such as the Wemax Dice.

Although this combination might make you think 1080p projectors are worth investing in, don’t get carried away by the hype. You can still work with the low-priced 720p projectors and enjoy great picture quality.

Tech Review – XNANO X1 Android 9.0 LCD Projector

Projectors are a must have in any home these days in my opinion as they take up less room stop having that TV centerpiece in your home and in general gives you a bigger screen and in most cases any games console or device can be plugged in giving you a larger screen to showcase things, and speaking of they are great for presentations..

One thing though is the cost of projectors and in most cases again you get what you pay for and quite often overpriced imo. Over the last while I have tried several projectors and the the saying certainly applies however this time around you get more for your money and it is an easy recommend if you are just starting off with a projector or want to buy a second one for your home for your kids etc.

You will see more of what I mean in the video review below with what you get for you money here including a good picture and ports at hand and you can also screencast, you have the Google play store in there too with 12000 lumens which is a high figure for this price point and it shows in comparison to others ones covered. Not only that you have keystone correction which is not really seen at this price point alongside the other features with 8K decoding, not that there is much options out there for that now it has kind of future proofed itself. Also what is cool you have a voice control remote control which is mega handy rather than typing.

You also get a cool carry case for the projector making it portable for travelling which I did on my holidays recently and it made for better viewing over the typical country hotel TV that lacks with locked ports, with this projector as mentioned you have access to the play store and apps already loaded such as Netflix and Disney+ and that is probably enough for many folk. You can also plug in gaming consoles which is great for the kids and will keep them occupied.

Check the video review below for a full tour of the device and see what you can expect.

Highlights

Native 1080p, Supported 8K Decoding & H.265

HDR 10+, Amlogic Quad Core CPU & Anti-aliasing
HDR 10+ that delivers higher contrast with shades of primary colors and high color depth which is visually impactful. Experience enhanced, sharper image and image denoising with Amlogic T972 quad core A55 CPU, the anti-aliasing can smooth jagged edges in images.

LCD projector features 1200 lumen high brightness and diffuse imaging for a stunning visual experience without eye stress. Support 2.4G&5.8G 802.11ac & Bluetooth5.0, 5.8GHz supports up to 1300 Mbps, cuts through network clutter disturbance and interference to mirror-cast images with no latency.

Tech Review – XGIMI Halo+ portable projector

I have reviewed many projectors and several this year have been 1080p projectors which whilst OK for someone not expecting fantastic viewing do a great job and keep the kids entertained the overall picture is underwhelming when you are into your tech and already own large screen tvs and have other projectors in your home, with this projector however it changes the game completely and not only does it offer a great picture it has great audio and of course access to the play store.

Most projectors today use other methods of installing apps from other third party stores and while it works people prefer the seamless Google option which of course makes it easier to sign in and sync devices and link to your home set up and this is what we get here.

The projector itself is also well built and not a cheap lightweight plastic yet still portable and easy to use with your voice assistant built in which is excellent. The Harmon Kardon built in speakers gives you a real movie experience here and you can also add speakers if you wish to enhance the experience and for me this is what everyone should do.

The question remains though is a projector better than a TV and for me it is a simple yes having several in my house now and one good reason is not having a big lump of a TV hung on a wall or taking up space on a press etc and again most would have their TV in the living room and this is always a centre piece and the highlight of most folks living rooms today and with these getting bigger for me they are an eyesore and I can easily do without and having a little box on a table beside me with everything built in it just makes things cleaner.

The picture quality here is also top notch and it has that LIVE effect, there is other picture settings to pick from and audio settings and of course gaming options at hand so in short anyone can use it in the home, the bedroom or even travelling to a hotel for instance. There is also an option to view 3D content if you have any.

Our 3D feature provides profound depth perception and image fusion thanks to DLP cinema-grade tech used in most cinemas worldwide. With Halo+, you can easily set up a 200” display and enjoy the excitement of your 3D content anywhere, anytime

You can also use it as a speaker and yes it sounds good the video review below demos this and of course the picture quality and not only that you can use it as a music player too so it has more than one function but the image it throws out is what people want projectors for and this will not disappoint you at all, in fact I am super impressed by the picture quality here and the sound and it laughs at the past few projectors I have reviewed.

Above you will see the features and one thing I point out to people is the Lumen count this might seem low in comparison and some had a higher count than this but the brightness was horrific overall..

It has at 1-2-1 throw ratio with HDR 10 that gives out a really bright picture you will notice this immediate and the blacks do not look pixelated like they do in most projectors under a certain price point. Even watching 4K content was immersive and sharp and worked really well with no lag noted either. It has a fast start up, a current one I use takes double the time here and once set up you have auto focus and auto keystone correction, another great feature here is Intelligent Obstacle correction which means if something is in the picture the it will move the entire screen out of the way and readjust itself and this works really well and is a great feature.

The integrated 60Hz motion compensation technology (MEMC) utilizes a specialized algorithm to deliver super-low image blur and latency rates. Even in the heat of any sporting action, your image stays incredibly sharp and clear.

For gamers it has a game mode boost so as mentioned no lag latency or sound delay either, with most cheap projectors you will notice the lag but not the case here this just simply works well no matter what you watch.

You could watch it with sunlight in the room however it is best to watch in a darker environment in fact there is no really need to even pull the blinds down as it is still viewable but again depends on HOW much sunlight is coming in the window. Once dark though you will enjoy a super experience if gaming watching movies or Youtube and also enjoy the sound quality to go with it giving you an experience that will make you not want a TV anymore. You also get around 2.5 hours of battery life without being plugged in here it must be noted.

You also have the benefit of Bluetooth connectivity, USB port and HDMI port so anything can more or less plug into it and of course it has chromecast built in making things even easier. And to top things off we have very little fan speed which is also a notable thing on cheaper projectors this one is basically silent.

The best TV for watching sport: 2022 edition

The world cup is just around the corner, so what better time is there to buy the perfect smart TV to experience that pitch-side feel in your own home? 2022 has been a great year for televisions, but it’s tough to know much much you need to spend to get that next-level watching experience for your home.

Knowing the best 65-inch TVs UK wide, from OLED, QLED or standard LED is rarely simple to decipher, especially with so many options to choose from, so we’ve taken the hassle out of that job and chosen our three favourite TVs this year for enjoying your favourite sports in style.

Samsung BU8070 4K Crystal UHD Smart TV

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Crystal-UHD-Smart-Built/dp/B0B1VC85Y8/

At the much more affordable end of the TV spectrum, Samsung has knocked it out of the park in terms of value with the BU8070, which is simply perfect for catching up on your favourite sports this year.

Despite the second-to-none 3D surround sound with Object Tracking for full immersion, the most exciting feature of Samsung’s BU8070 is quite easily its excellent Crystal Processor, which precisely upscales live sports (or whatever else your watching) in real-time. That means there’s no blurring, no dull, low-quality playback, just sheer quality without fault.

All-in-all, we can’t fault this television, and at its price, it’s an absolute screamer.

Samsung Q60B QLED 4K Smart TV

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-Inch-Q60B-QLED-Smart/dp/B09VH47GPX/

Samsung is well-known for making the most gorgeous displays at competitive prices, and the Q60B is no exception. Unlike our previous pick, this display harnesses the power of QLED technology, where nanocrystals are used to create a huge range of over a billion colours, all on one screen.

The result? Anything you watch, be it sports, films, shows, games – they all pop off the screen with proper true depth and vividness that can’t be topped.

Samsung rarely skimp out on great sound either, and the Q60B has that all-important Object Tracking built in, so the sounds of the stadium come alive, without the need for surround sound.

LG OLED C2 65” 4K Smart TV

https://www.amazon.co.uk/LG-OLED-C2-55-Smart/dp/B09W65BR8S/

Our final pick is easily our most expensive, but it’s also one of the best TVs of the year. LG’s C2 is an OLED TV, which unlike QLED tech, doesn’t use a backlight. The result? It’s got some of the best performance in any commercially available TV display ever made. Rapid response times, ultra-low input lag, and insane refresh rates mean that you’re never behind the action when you’re watching football, you’ll experience the action as its happening, no delay whatsoever.

And the display itself? It’s nothing short of stunning – the slick high contrast look of a proper OLED screen is simply beautiful, and puts any regular TV display to absolute shame.

8 Things you should Know about The HBO Max streaming Service

HBO Max, a brand-new paid streaming service offers the best of HBO along with more original programming, old seasons of your favourite series, and movies. Discover all the latest news, plot details, and cast information about the Alien TV Series here, and stay tuned for the thrilling addition to the Alien universe!

All 10 seasons of Friends (along with a promised reunion episode), and cult favourites like Rick and Morty are now available to subscribers for $14.99 per month in US and also you can access HBO Max in UK for £13.80 per month, in addition to all of your favourite HBO shows and movies.HBO Max costs the same as HBO and HBO Now for most pay-TV subscribers, although it’s more expensive than Netflix’s and Hulu’s basic plans for $8.99 and $5.99, (£8.28 & £5.52) respectively.

Here are the top 8 features we’ve discovered so far that make HBO Max subscribers make the most of their streaming service.

Download content on mobile

You can download movies and TV shows from HBO Max to your mobile device to view them offline. Simply scroll through the HBO Max app once it has been downloaded to your smartphone, choose the content you want to watch later, and then choose from the options to Preview (see the trailer), Add to My List, and Download.
When watching a TV show, you can scroll through the episodes to find the one you wish to download. Once done, you may find the episode or movie on your profile under Downloads. HBO Max only currently allows you to download individual episodes; but, if you tap on multiple episodes, they’ll queue up and download as the previous one is finishing.

Decide on parental control

HBO is known for producing a lot of adult-oriented television, but HBO Max also features a tonne of kid-friendly programming. However, you’ll undoubtedly still want to take precautions to prevent your children from using the service’s more explicit titles. In contrast to many other programmes, like Disney Plus, HBO Max, fortunately, provides more robust parental control features.

Switch profiles by clicking the profile symbol when you are on your profile. On the Who’s Watching the screen, you may then select Add Kid. (You can run three concurrent streams and up to five user profiles simultaneously.) After that, you establish a PIN that enables you to switch between the two. By visiting your profile and choosing Parental Controls, you can modify your four-digit PIN whenever you choose.

Once the PIN has been set, you can enter your child’s name, birthday, and the movie and TV ratings (G through NC-17 and TV-Y up to TV-MA, respectively) that they are permitted to watch. Go to Switch Profiles > Manage Profiles, select the relevant profile, and select Edit Age and Parental Controls if you ever need to adjust the restricted content.

For All: Audio Description

Audio descriptions are important for those who are blind. It’s not practical to look through every TV show and movie to see what choices are available, though. To view a selection of content that has audio descriptions available, open the hamburger menu and select Audio Description. When you’ve found something to watch, go to the playback menu and select the text box option. Then, under the Audio section, choose the audio description.

Include a Profile Photo

Want to add a special image to your account profile? Select Switch Profiles > Manage Profiles by clicking your profile icon. After selecting the profile, tap the camera icon. From here, you can select a character from the app’s library, snap your own photo, or upload an image. You can select pictures of characters from HBO, Adult Swim, and Warner Bros. franchises with the Choose a Character tool.

Prevent Freebees From Using Your Account

You can keep track of the devices that have logged into your account with HBO Max. If you suspect someone is utilising your account without your consent, this is useful. Manage Devices may be accessed by clicking your profile symbol. From there, you may sign out devices one by one or in bulk. You can also see all the devices that are logged into your account. HBO Max informed me that it might take up to four hours to sign me out when I first logged in on my phone and later decided to do it on a desktop browser.

HBO Max is currently not compatible with Roku or Amazon Fire devices, although it is supported by a large number of other gadgets. It works with Apple devices (including the iPhone, iPad, iPod Touch, Mac, and Apple TV), Android TV devices, Chromebooks, Google Chromecast, and devices with built-in Chromecast, including Vizio TVs, the Xbox One, the PlayStation 4, and more current Samsung Smart TVs.

Discover the Hub

HBO Max’s plethora of material from WarnerMedia’s extensive library is its main selling feature. You can access all of the original programming from HBO, Max, DC, and TCM in one location, along with the animated features from DC. HBO Max has hubs that divide the app’s collection into categories such as HBO, Max Originals, DC, TCM, Adult Swim, Studio Ghibli, Cartoon Network, Sesame Workshop, Looney Tunes, and Cartoonito to make it easier for you to locate what you’re looking for. Select one of these sections by opening the hamburger menu and scrolling to the bottom.

Low on funds? Purchase the Ad-Supported Tier.

When HBO Max first debuted, the sole ad-free option was available for $14.99 per month, which we thought was too pricey for a streaming service. Although purchasing the $149.99 annual plan will save you a little money, WarnerMedia this summer introduced an ad-supported option that costs $9.99 per month or $99.99 annually.
You can change your plan from ad-free to commercial-free streaming by clicking your profile icon (or the settings gear on a mobile device) and selecting Subscription > Manage Subscription >Switch Plans if you currently have the ad-free plan.

Although HBO Max does not provide a free trial, it does provide a “Watch Free” section(Which opens in a new window) where you can view a few episodes of a few of its shows without becoming an HBO Max subscriber. That includes the premieres of The Gilded Age, The White Lotus, Euphoria, Succession, and And Just Like That.

Available on App Store & Google Play

Web browsers and Android and iOS smartphones and tablets are the first devices that HBO Max supports. To start streaming, simply download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. The service now supports Google Chromecast streaming dongles and includes apps for Apple TV and Android TV.

Conclusion

We have learned 8 new things that we should all know about the HBO Max streaming service. It will help you get a better viewing experience and make the most of the HBO Max subscription. Let your friends and family know these pieces of information.

Sennheiser announces the RS 120-W

Sennheiser’s TV Listening portfolio is being enhanced with a powerful addition. The RS 120-W wireless on-ear headphones offer no less than three different sound modes for a customised listening experience, working with advanced LE audio transmission for crystal-clear and undistorted sound powered by Bluetooth. In combination with the usual long-lasting battery life and an improved design for optimal comfort while wearing, the new Sennheiser headphones serve as the ideal foundation for binge-worthy TV sessions.

”High-quality sound and an engaging televisual experience are essential for the Sennheiser brand,” said Irene Strüber, Sennheiser Product Manager TV Listening. “The new RS 120-W is designed to make the sound experience even more individual and versatile. Users can tailor their sound settings according to their preferences, whether they like more bass or speech clarity. A pair of headphones should not be limited to one type of entertainment. That’s exactly the philosophy we’re putting into practice with the RS 120-W.”

Designed for high-quality entertainment
Depending on the preferred type of entertainment, users can choose between ‘Speech’, ‘Music’ and ‘Neutral’ sound modes to adjust the soundscape to their respective requirements. To ensure a detailed, balanced, and undistorted sound, the RS 120-W uses advanced LE audio, which enables audio streaming via Bluetooth® Low Energy transmission technology. LE audio includes a new high-quality LC3 audio codec. This technology not only convinces listeners through its delivery of crystal-clear audio, but also offers a very low latency, which guarantees immersive entertainment sessions.

Meanwhile, the enhanced design of the RS 120-W makes controls even more intuitive. For example, users can now adjust the volume independently of the TV by using the control on the headphones’ ear cup. The comfortable on-ear design with light ear pads and a soft headband pressure contributes to the RS 120-W’s all-day wearing comfort, making it ideal for extended periods of TV viewing.

Enjoying the sound of Sennheiser together
With a battery life up to 20 hours and wireless transmission in a range of 60 meters, the RS 120-W also provides the technical foundation for unlimited entertainment sessions. As usual, the transmitter included in the scope of delivery serves as a charging station and transmission centre in one. Meanwhile, the new ‘Broadcast Mode’ feature can pair the transmitter with multiple sets of headphones, so that the breath taking sound can be enjoyed by several people at the same time. Those who like it loud can increase the volume up to 100 dB, without having a negative impact on their surroundings.

Pricing and availability
The Sennheiser RS 120-W will be available for pre order on 16th August and will go on sale on 30th August with an RRP of £119.99 / €129.90.
