Setup Experience

While the Boom ZYGO is marketed as a plug-and-play device, our testing revealed some initial challenges. When connecting to two separate laptops and various monitors, we found that only the first HDMI port was functional, with the DisplayLink HDMI ports not working initially.

Upon consulting the manual, we discovered that a software update was required. Following the QR code provided, we were directed to the Synaptics DisplayLink Graphics download page.

Pros:

  •         Compact and sleek design
  •         Versatile connectivity options

Despite these minor setbacks, the Boom ZYGO stands out as a reliable and future-proof docking solution. Its ability to connect multiple displays and peripherals while charging your laptop makes it an excellent choice for professionals seeking to optimise their workspace.

The compatibility across various operating systems and the generous warranty further enhance its appeal. While the initial setup process could be smoother, the performance and versatility of the Boom ZYGO make it a strong contender in the docking station market.

6 Essential Features to Look for in a Phone Case

Many people underestimate the importance of a phone case when it comes to protecting your phone. It is important to take some time and look carefully for a phone case that satisfies all your needs and still fits your style. This article provides 6 essential features you need to look for in a phone case if you want to find a long-lasting choice.

Material Quality

First of all, one of the most important features you need to look for is the quality of the material if you want to find a good phone case you will use for some time. There are different materials, for example, silicone is a long-lasting material, but a quality leather phone case provides both aesthetic appeal and protection your phone needs.

Style

Even though phone cases are primarily used for phone protection, you want to find a suitable style that depicts you the best. You can make a personalized phone case on the case24.com website using either your personal photos or quotes. This way, you not only have a phone case but also carry a sentimental memory with you.

Precise Cutouts

Many people forget to pay attention to such small details but this can be crucial for overall phone protection. Even though this might seem like an unimportant detail, keep in mind to check if the button covers are precise and if the buttons work without any problems as this can cause your phone some damage because the buttons cannot be pushed easily and can get damaged.

Wireless Charging

New phone models have a wireless charging option, so make sure to check if the phone case is suitable for this option or not. If not, you might end up dissatisfied with your final choice and need to remove the phone case whenever you want to charge your phone. Check this before actually making the purchase.

Practical Design

There are different phone case designs and options you can choose from, however, you want the design to be practical and easy for constant use. Mobile phones are used all the time, so keep in mind that the phone case should not be too heavy, but that it still provides the protection you need. It is best to know what to focus on before actually looking for the perfect phone case, as everything should be taken into consideration.

Screen and Camera Protection

Remember to look for phone cases that not only provide the general protection of your phone’s edges but also the ones that protect your camera and screen so that you can achieve peace of mind without stressing out about what would happen if your phone falls unexpectedly.

Finding the perfect phone case is not as simple as possible because if you find it important to protect your phone, there are different things you need to focus on. However, with the help of this article, you now know all the essential features you need to keep in mind. Remember that this is not just a decoration for your phone; a phone case offers the protection you need to avoid any phone damage.

Skullcandy Sesh ANC Active review

The Skullcandy Sesh Active ANC are the latest earbuds on offer and a mighty pair they are too and deliver all round as expected and these are the new updated version of the old Sesh ANC you could say.

These are slightly larger earbuds and fit well in the ears despite their size and for me not my usual favourite styled earbud but once fitted with the right tips they were fine after a few days testing and they grew on me and of course sounded great with all the options available minus one I love that Skullcandy offer.

The case they come in is pretty cool too and kept simple just like the earbuds and this case will slip into any shirt or trouser pocket or tech bag.

There is 12mm drivers packed in these earbuds which might be a factor in their size and with the EQs on the app and other options you can customize these to your own needs and not only that these have multi pairing which for me is ideal working on two devices all day long and not only that can be used individually effectively doubling your battery life.

You can have spotify on tap or take a photo with these but this there is no hey skullcandy feature this time which makes sense at the price this is one of my favourite features they do offer on other products and missed here however no big deal as everything else is there that I need including access to my voice assistants.

The sound is great and they get plenty loud too with adjustable stay aware mode and ANC of course which works really well even on calls on a windy day all was clear both ends and the ANC is decent here.

You have also got low latency built in and clear voice smart mic making these an overall greatly packed pair or earbuds with features for all.

The sound overall is great and highs lows and mids fine, loud no lag latency or tinny sound noted when maxed out and great direction too putting you in the center stage and an overall great audio experince and that goes for podcasts and gaming too.

See the video below for more and what you will find.

Boom Goes Large with Dedicated ‘Meeting Room In A Box’ Conference Kit

Conferencing manufacturer Boom Collaboration has launched a dedicated ‘meeting room in a box’ video kit for large rooms.

The all-in-one innovation features an intelligent videobar, expandable mics and one-cable connection hub – designed to simplify installations and capitalise on high demand for Bring Your Own Device deployments.

It’s part of a new range of complete solutions, demonstrating the Texas-based company’s ethos of delivering better meetings, simply.

Rollercoaster

The BYOD Large Videobar Kit can be found at boom.co and features the popular HALO videobar, two mics and the ZYGO multi-connectivity hub. It’s available in black or white colours.

“In recent years the video conferencing market has been a rollercoaster ride offering two distinct ways forward – with dedicated in-room systems on the up, whilst Bring Your Own Device alternatives seemed to be heading down, particularly for many larger organisations,” explained Co-Founder Fredrik Hörnkvist.

“But wider industry analysis mirrors our own findings that the use of individual devices is taking over. From our conversations, sales and interest from around the world, it’s an 80/20 split. BYOD is back with a bang with plug-and-play simplicity, lower costs and a platform agnostic approach some of the main driving forces.”

He emphasised: “Our new approach sees the creation of complete ‘meeting room in a box’ kits. These are designed to simplify the process of choosing the right equipment for the right rooms, to optimise the overall user experience and take away any installation headaches. Our new videobar kit for larger rooms will add further fuel to the BYOD fire.”

The solution is spearheaded by the HALO videobar which boasts ultra HD 4K performance, a wide angle 120° field of view, AI Auto-framing and speaker-tracking, 10x ePTZ, six digital array mics plus the option of up to eight additional expandable mics.

Embracing

Many businesses are now opting for flexible, cost-effective solutions, agrees fellow founder Holli Hulett. “The pandemic created a shift towards more agile, plug-and-play systems, where users wanted to use their own devices without relying on permanent room systems. There’s more personalisation too such as when screen sharing.”

She added: “The flexibility and lower cost of BYOD solutions – where users bring their laptops or mobile devices to connect to a room’s AV system – have seen a significant rise, as hybrid and flexible work models became more common.

“This is especially popular for SMBs embracing hybrid work. They greatly outnumber bigger organisations by around 1000:1 so there’s more volume and more reseller opportunities compared to fully-fledged room systems. Our new dedicated kit for larger rooms makes it easy for installers and their customers to create the optimal BYOD meeting experience.”

Edifier W260NC ANC Hi-Res audio earbuds review

The Edifier W260NC ANC Hi-Res audio earbuds have been in my ears some time now and it is time to tell you all about them with a super clean look and fit these have all the features expected and come with a cool finish on the case and earbuds.

As above the case is where we will start with that has a super finish to it and looks really well and above par in my opinion to the standard of cases we see today and it offers some grip too with the textured finish.

The earbuds are a standard affair and look familiar however these also have some of that textured finish that matches the case which is a nice touch they do look well and sit well in the ears and be sure to get the right tips for you for the optimum sound experience.

These are best used with Android devices and have all the features that you would expect from Edifier and that include Hi-Res audio and LDAC.

You have several noise cancelling controls which are High,Low Wind reduction and Ambient sound or just off making these perfect for indoors and outdoors and the ANC is good on these and so is the wind reduction on calls after testing it is Ireland we are not short of wind or bad weather.

The audio is great and of course expected from Edifier highs lows and mids all good no lag latency or tinny sound and several EQs to picks from such as Pop, Rockm Classical and Classic and even more if you choose to go the LDAC route you have different frequencies/ sampling rates and so on. On these earbuds you get a 10 mm woofer and a 6 mm tweeter in each earbud which pack a punch overall with good volume and clarity.

All your controls are present as expected and you can decide how they operate you can see more of that in the video below.

Overall again Edifier have delivered a feature packed pair of earbuds that look well and affordable and if you are in the market for something new you should put them on your list.

 The App
