Kieran Fitzgerald from Limerick has been looking for an on-line business opportunity for some time now and has recognised the ongoing growth of smart technology and the internet as a whole.Kieran has set up a new company called Funky Media Group to roll out the funkystamp business model nationwide.
“Funky Stamp allows businesses create their own branded app for smartphone or tablet with the use of a unique stamp that is pressed against a customer’s smartphone to register a transaction on the loyalty program. Allowing them to discard the loyalty cards that we all carry in our wallets and eventually forget where we left them when we need them.” Says Kieran..
“When we create an app for the customer, the name Funkystamp does not appear anywhere and as far as the customer is concerned the business went off and got their own app built by a web developer.”
The long term goal for the business would be to develop a reseller community where we would provide them with their own website identical to FunkyStamp.com such as: FunkyStampGalway, FunkyStampCork etc around the country and further afield such as FunkyStampLondon, FunkyStamp Glasgow etc. These resellers would be in business for themselves but all admin etc would be done by a dedicated account manager from the Funky Media Group which will allow the resellers to focus on generating new customer sales in their own county location only with all account activity for their county handled by Funky Media Group.
This is a really nice idea and brings the loyalty card to the current era,current loyalty cards are not really effective as they have been for many years,they can get lost and damaged,cant be tracked,costly to the company that uses them,take for example your typical free coffee at your petrol station,I loose these all the time and often the case you see them on the floor,this idea eliminates the need to carry any card which also makes you wallet lighter too rather than stuffed with countless cards that get thrown out after a while.

Today we bring to you a new startup which is working on to keep your cables well organized with their simple yet very effective product. Confused?? We spoke to Erin, Head Marketing Team from Cloop ™ today, a project by two brothers from Milan, who took time thinking and developing a product which would keep you organized while you travel or do your daily exercise taking care of the cables for you. The word Cloop stands for neat, small, tangle-free and that’s what this new product is going to do. Read on to find what is it exactly that I’m talking about.
Who are you guys?
Cloop ™ was founded by two brothers, engineers who reside in Milan, Italy. Their backgrounds are in Electrical and Mechanical Engineering with Business Administration and Masters in Product Design.
How did Cloop Band come up?
Started the Cloop project as a creative solution for a common daily problem they faced while traveling frequently for their current job positions, these brothers were struck with the idea of Cloop Band.
What is Cloop Band?
Cloop is a new ideal cable management solution for earbuds, cell phone chargers and USB cables. Cloop is a cable companion band that helps keep your cables untangled while in transport and use.
What are the capabilies of Cloop Band?
It features an elastic silicone band, along with two strong Neodymium magnets in the ends that provide a quick locking and release mechanism. Additionally, Cloop features a cable passage to keep it in place and readily available to use at your convenience.
Who is the team Cloop?
Engineers and product design specialists. Marketing team led by Erin Corral-Holmes from Kickstartup.
What are the future plans & product line?
Cloop is planning to create a bigger band for bigger and and bulkier cables. Also, a sleek metallic base for desktop use. We will be looking to target the product on specific niche markets and applications, that can benefit from the Cloop operative benefits, such as in hospitals for telemetry and alike cords.
When can we expect the Cloop Band prototype and the availability for the masses?
We have multiple prototype versions available. We create in the U.S. our own molds using 3D printing. We also have done multiple prototype versions from the factories in China to perfect the product and ensure good quality. Cloop will be available on KICKSTARTER in April 2015.
What is the expected pricing for the Cloop Band?
We are targeting to launch in Kickstarter with two packages of three and five bands and three different colors: red, white and black. We are planning to offer the package of 3 bands for $15 including shipping and the package of 5 bands for $20 including shipping.
How is Cloop Band different from other substutes in market?
Current available substitutes are that disposable cable ties as taught by the current state of art created at least three new problems:
a problem of waste;
a problem of being impractical; and
a problem of being too simple such that there is a loss in functionality.
Cloop Band material, specification and dimension:
1 x Syntactic rubber band of dimension: 2.13×0.22×0.14″
Two terminal magnetic ends that are covered in silicone. This protects the magnets from the environment and your accessories from damage(being scratched etc).
Also, protecting the magnets with a soft silicone cover, does not diminish the magnetic closure strength.

– How did the idea of Flat Attack come up?
Flat Attack came up from the need for an emergency phone charger that was compact, and did not require power cables. Fighting fires as well as previously been in the Australian Army Airborne, often meant Anthony went long periods of time away from a power source, which rendered his mobile phone useless in the field. The resulting idea was to create a key ring sized universal device charger which was powered by one AA battery and didn’t need an initial charge.
– What is Flat Attack?
Flat Attack is an Australian Designed key ring sized, universal emergency phone and device charger. It is the World’s most powerful, single AA battery operated, mobile phone charger, outperforming 90% of all chargers in the World, that are of a similar size.
Flat Attack will supply an instant charge to your Smart Phone of up to 7 hours or more. Flat Attack does not replace your day to day charger. Flat Attack is an emergency top up charge, when you are away from normal power means.
– What are the capabilities of Flat Attack?
Flat Attack provides an instant charge 24/7. Flat Attack provides up to 7 hours of charge time which can equate to up to 57% mins of talk time. – What is the design mantra behind Flat Attack?
Flat Attack (Trade Marked) has been designed to comply with the new environmental standards and has a Micro USB port. This Micro USB port is 50% more energy efficient and will now be the preferred charger pin for all devices. This means no leads that end up in rubbish fills and damage the environment.
– What are the future plans & product line you are looking into?
With the new Flat Attack Key Charger now you are fully covered for charging anywhere you go. Flat Attack Key Charger, is a smaller compact USB charger when a power source is available eg. Computer or laptop, allowing users to plug in and charge or sync devices from any computer without having to carry a charger. This device does not store power. Its just shorter version of your power leads (cables). The key charger comes in 2 types an Apple or Android.
If the funding goals are realised, Flat Attack will be made annual or in other bright colours.
There are further plans too which weren’t disclosed now but are part of future plans once these are in full production.

The original colour will be clean gloss white or Black. Flat Attack comes with the Apple 4/5/6 adapter key ring clip. Flat Attack has no adapter wires. It clips onto your key ring. There is a 2 tone colour LED that shows green when charged and red when charging.
Flat Attack is operated by one AA disposable battery. You can save money and use rechargeable AA batteries as well and just cycle them through a charger. So if you really think about it, you can make Flat Attack into a rechargeable device (which is a great idea, both environmentally and economically).
Flat Attack uses state of the art DC to DC voltage regulation. “We took our time and are the only device in the world, that can produce 60 minutes of talk time on a mobile phone with 1 single AA battery” says Anthony.
Flat Attack is currently priced at $23 and $39 along with the Flat Attack key Charger.

Drop is a new kitchen innovation created by four Irish techies that just so happened to have an empty stomach and an idea at the same time.
Drop is a teardrop shaped measuring plate that pairs with an iPad app to turn cooking into something that doesn’t bring on sighs of complaint. It brings you through preparation, cooking and even serving – but it also has a few tricks up it’s sleeve that make it even more appealing. The Drop app knows that there’s a high chance that we just used our last bottle of vanilla extract, or whatever ingredient you can’t find in the back of the press – so it suggests alternatives to these ingredients with the click of a button, pretty neat right?
As well as that, say you only have 300g of flour, but you need 400g, just tell the app this and it’ll automatically adjust the amount of all the other ingredients so that whatever you’re making still turns out great.
What really makes sure of this device’s success though is it’s tie in with Harvey-Norman stores, as Co- founder and CEO Ben Harris says that they’ll be “in every store in Ireland”. This is a great achievement for them as it will ensure great sales, speaking of which, the device is set to cost €99.95 and can be bought on the 24th of November.
