Tech Review Crusher ANC 2 Headphones, Bass has just got better.

Skullcandy has just announced the release of their all new Crusher ANC 2 Headphones, the newest edition to the iconic Crusher Franchise. The headphones take Skullcandy’s patented Adjustable Sensory Bass to the next level  and we have tried and tested and you will love it and also comes with the addition of Active Noise Cancelling, upgradable features, hands-free voice control and more, all for an unbeatable price of $229.99 MSRP. With up to 60 hours of battery life, rapid charge technology and customizable EQ modes, these headphones are perfect for tech-savvy audiophiles who crave an immersive audio experience. And we have been testing these out for some time now and delighted to do so as I am a huge fan of the crusher range but not only that their other products too which you can find here on site and there is lots to pick from.

The Crusher ANC 2 headphones have been designed to deliver personalised, customizable experiences for every listener, with Skull-iQ Smart Feature Technology, users are enabled to create and tune features to their unique hearing preferences. If you are a fan of bass there is no need to look anywhere else for bass driven headphones plus you can customise these to your own taste.  Lightweight and durable, these headphones boast design updates with comfort-ability in mind. Having tested these out long enough now I am the type that wears my headphones or earbuds for hours on end and these are super comfortable with no clamping effect or get sweaty either.

Built with larger ear cups, an asymmetric yoke and a notch in the headband for improved comfort, ideal for all day wearing. The headphones are also flat-folding and collapsible, packaged in a durable travel case, making them perfect for on-the-go use. Again a carry case provided which will keep your headphones safe and away from dirt or dust and this is something instilled in me for many years now as I have a big range of headphones I use in a cycle over time and keep them protected and all look like new today even ones that are near ten years old.

“This latest generation of Crusher gives fans the bass response they loved in its predecessors, with the added feature of Active Noise Cancelling,” said Jason Luthman, Director of Global Product Management.“We have been refining and improving the Crusher Technology for over a decade now, Crusher ANC 2 is our 7th iteration in the family. For those looking for a premium headphone, the all-new Crusher ANC 2 has it all and will no doubt deliver the world-class listening experience they crave, while layering on robust, in-demand features at a ridiculously good value.”

Skullcandy iQ app

Skullcandy developed a user experience centred around individual customization. Users can personalise the proprietary haptic bass one of three ways; rotating the adjustment wheel on the left ear cup, using the hands-free voice command “Hey Skullcandy, More Crusher,” or creating bass preferences directly on the Skull-iQ app. Adjustable four-mic Active Noise Cancelling not only detects and cancels noise but can now be customised and refined. Users can also set up a Personal Sound profile to tune Crusher ANC 2 to their unique hearing through a short hearing test on the app. We go through the app below and show you what is involved here and again the Skull iQ offer and experience to make life so handy for you without having to touch your phone or headphones when using it to do all the things you usually do with your headphones and more.

Tech Review – Skullcandy Grind HAZE limited edition earbuds

The Skullcandy Grind HAZE are the latest on offer from the company who has been dishing out some really cool collaborations over the last while and it does not seem like it is stopping anytime soon either and we say let it continue to bring something different to the market albeit updated models of past but we love it and the 420 friendly earbuds are the newest and affordable and not shy on features either and after my testing the last while they get my approval and not only that they look cool to boot.

You can see the full unboxing if you missed that to get an idea of what to expect should you wish to pick these up but be quick.

The case these come with is cool with a somewhat transparent lid with a beige colour case which I think complements each other well and also well built, the case is pocketable too and does not get dirty with a matt finish and draws attention like the earbuds themselves.

Yes the earbuds also draw attention with several colours and a cloth like material on them which makes it easy to remove from the case and this is a good idea I think as some earbuds have been known to be tricky to remove from the case over my years of testing but not here, there is LED lights on each side and the outer part has a purple and orange tone which all blends in well and not only that they fit well too and again this is down to you on deciding the right tips to suit your ears.

Skullcandy Grind HAZE – techbuzzireland

How do they sound? Well as expected they sound great as all Skullcandy earbuds do from my testing and no features dropped over the aesthetics here which is good we have all the features as expected and more and the bonus here is Skull IQ which we have spoken about several times here which just makes life super easy by calling out the commands rather than fuss about with your phone or even the earbuds themselves, the controls on the earbuds are excellent too and again we go through this and the app in the video review below.

The sound is great as expected no lag latency nice volume highs lows and mids no distortion on max volume and in general well balance and of course you have the app to set these up to your liking too, you have a decent battery life too and not forgetting all the features packed in here for the money if you want a flashy case and pair of earbuds you need to check these out.

Tech Review – Skullcandy X Burton Mod True Wireless Earbuds

The Skullcandy mod are an affordable pair of earbuds with style and good sound packed in and this time around they have a new coat so to speak with a new collaboration with Burton which brings a more stansoutish look and garner attention like their other models available which I like, I am fed up with the boring same coloured earbuds and headphones and these are fine by me even though they are most suited to the ladies.

We have again a simple earbuds that sits well in the ear and block out most of the outside world once the right tips are fitted which something everyone should do with new earbuds., The controls work really well on these as before and I like them as they have a button underneath the Skullcandy logo, the commands are on point and you can see more in the video review below and what the app entails which enhances the user experience which is most welcome at this price point too.

The earbuds hold up to 7 hours of play time, and the case fully charges the buds more than 3 times between plug-ins. Plus, with Rapid Charge, just 10 minutes of charging will give you 2 hours of play time though this will vary on volume and EQ settings but from my testing they are not far off the claims here perhaps 30 mins or so with max volume on and high bass which is better this time around than the Push Active.

Overall the audio experience is good here despite no ANC but you have access to the app as seen below and more features than usual at this price including tile etc. Calls are fine here too and not forgetting multipoint connections either which is useful for many people these days carrying more than one device.

The App

Jake Burton Carpenter spent more than four decades advancing snowboard design and fighting for lift access for snowboarders at resorts around the world. Skullcandy was born on one of those chairlifts with a snowboard (probably a Burton) strapped to our founder’s feet. Without Burton, snowboarding would not be what it is today. In a way, Skullcandy might not be either.

First Look – Skullcandy Grind HAZE limited edition earbuds

Skullcandy are on a roll with collabs of late and their latest offering again is limited and called the Grind Haze, The 420-focused Grind HAZE True Wireless Earbuds are backed by Skullcandy’s voice-driven platform, Skull-iQ and if you have not tried Skull-iQ it is a great feature to have on your earbuds and basically lets you control them by giving a command “hey skullcandy” and what you want done and it is a feature that works really well as we have tried and tested in on several pairs of earbuds from the company now.

Derek Steiner, director of global brand partnerships comments “Leaning on the iconic Purple Haze strain for inspiration, it’s no coincidence our 420 limited-edition Grind HAZE buds look good enough to smoke. They also pass the vibe check thanks to hands-free voice control, which makes it easy to maintain a chill atmosphere while mellowing out to a relaxed playlist.”

Today we bring you a hands on first look at the latest earbuds and of course if you have any questions feel free to ask and we will answer as we always do and stay tuned for that full hands on review soon here and on our YouTube very soon.

Tech Review – Skullcandy X Burton Push Active True Wireless Earbuds

In the latest collaboration with Skullcandy we have the Burton Mod True wireless which comes in a fancy looking case as was before and slightly larger than others only this time this one looks better and stands out which looks cool. It has a nice finish and feel to the case and non slippy which is helpful due to its size but still this case gives you up to 34 hours of battery life and you have got rapid charge built in via USB – C

Now we have reviewed these before in their first iteration and nothing much has changed to be frank and honest about it and they still stand up to their merits back then as they do now. One thing that I loved most about these is the voice control options which you still today do not see.

These also fit really well too and have over ear hooks that goes around the ear and will not fall out of your ears, even for the most active folk and can be worn jogging or in the gym, there is one button on each side for controls but they have a new trick up their sleeve and buttons do not have to be used at all and you can just say “Hey Skullcandy” to do what you need them to do, more on this in the video below you need to see this in action.

At the price you pay here you get great sound however no ANC but this is fine with the really secure fit you will not hear much going on outside anyway unless outdoors in a noisy environment, with my ususal test loop they performed really well, highs lows and mids are fine and a good balance overall and then you have the app to play around with too with the EQ settings and also edit the button controls too which is excellent.

Check the video review below for a more in depth look.

The limited-edition Grind HAZE True Wireless Earbuds give off a “buds in a jar” display-worthy look enhanced by a clear-colour, smoked grey case. First Look – Skullcandy X Burton limited-edition Push Active and Mod True wireless earbuds

Recently Skullcandy launched another collaboration and this time it is with Burton, in recent times the company has had several collabs which we have been delighted to cover and have a hands on experience with and long may these collaborations continue, For example there was the Doritos edition Capcom Street Fighter edition and Skullcandy Inequality Crusher headphones.

“Jake Burton Carpenter spent more than four decades advancing snowboard design and fighting for lift access for snowboarders at resorts around the world. Skullcandy was born on one of those chairlifts. Without Burton, snowboarding wouldn’t be what it is today. In a way, Skullcandy might not be either,” said Derek Steiner, director of global brand partnerships, Skullcandy.

Both a Skullcandy and Burton ambassador, Olympic Gold Medalist and three-time female Snowboarder of the Year Anna Gasser, lends her image to the Skullcandy x Burton collaboration. She not only drives progress in her sport but in her community as well, pushing boundaries and inspiring up-and-comers to follow their dreams.

With similar backgrounds and philosophies, this collaboration with Burton has been a long time coming,” Steiner continued. “A collection with a look this loud, needs serious performance to back it up and Skullcandy’s Crusher Evo, Push Active and Mod deliver just that. We hope this unique collab inspires our fans to express themselves on the mountain and in life, always daring to venture down the road less traveled.”

Today we have a first look at the latest and if you want our full review we shall have one, again these are products that we have reviewed on site before however freshened up wit their latest collab and look really good.

Tech Review – Skullcandy Dime 2 Doritos edition

The Skullcandy Dime 2 are one of the latest new products that are in a collab and this collaboration is with Doritos and whilst they might look and feel the same as the Dime we last reviewed there is some differences here but other than that they sound identical to the Dime and look identical apart from the UV reactive light which I have no lamp to test but you can see how they work with their own video, there is a difference between glow in the dark and UV reactive light for those who do no know.

There is no access to their app this time around which I found odd when they have Tile built in which is hand being such a small earbud but they have the rest of the features you would come to expect from Skullcandy. They fit well and block out plenty of the outside world and stand out even being so small with the colour.

You again have the basics when it comes to controls on the earbuds albeit small and if you have big fingers you may struggle a bit until you get your muscle memory in order,  you can skip and reverse tracks, play and pause music and change the volume which is enough for most people and you can control calls.. There is one button on each earbud that controls the lot keeping it simple.

Overall these are an inexpensive pair or earbuds rejuvenated but sound good and give more than enough and great value for money, check out the video review below for a full hands on.

Skullcandy x Doritos Limited-Edition Dime 2 True Wireless Earbuds – £39.99
