Jabra introduce linking update to Speak2 75 professional speakerphone

Today, Jabra has announced an automatic, over-the-air update to its flagship speakerphone Speak2 75, enabling two Speak2 75 devices to link for enhanced audio coverage, suitable for large and medium size meeting rooms. The devices can be used with platforms like Microsoft Teams, Zoom, and other UC-certified applications and provide both mono and stereo modes.

This update, driven by user feedback on Bluetooth connectivity, introduces a permanent linking capability that expands the range and functionality of the Speak2 75, meeting both the evolving needs of end users and facility managers.

Flexible connection for superior audio

Linked Speak2 75 devices provide excellent audio coverage for professional collaboration in various sized meeting rooms. For example, if one Speak2 75 has 2.5 meeres of range, then having two could more than double the range overall, depending on placement in the meeting room.

Therefore, with this new update, IT and facility managers now have more flexibility to design rooms with better audio coverage, meaning that whether users are in the meeting room or remote, everyone can hear and be heard clearly.

Furthermore, with the permanent linking feature, the Speak2 75s will remain connected even when turned off and on again. This is a significant improvement from its predecessors, where the linking was only temporary. In meeting rooms, where consistent connectivity is crucial, this feature provides a more reliable, plug-and-play user experience.

Versatile for meetings and music

During calls, the linked Speak2 75 devices transmit a dual mono signal, ensuring that both speakers deliver the same clear, precise audio. So, whether it’s an important business meeting or just a casual catch-up, the dual mono signal ensures that all communication is seamless and effective.

When it comes to sound playback, the two speakers switch to a stereo signal, offering a richer and more immersive audio experience. The devices intelligently and automatically switch between dual mono and stereo modes based on the usage scenario, providing the best audio quality for every situation.

Holger Reisinger, SVP for Video & Collaboration solutions at Jabra, said: “With the new linking feature, the Speak2 75 transforms how users experience sound, offering flexible placement options that adapt to any environment. This enhancement makes the Speak2 75 an ideal choice for both professional and personal use, fitting seamlessly into modern lifestyles.

This update reflects our commitment to innovation that genuinely enhances usability and quality. By expanding the Speak2 75’s capabilities, we are setting a new standard for immersive, adaptable audio solutions.”

This update is available now on all Speak2 75 devices via a firmware update in Jabra+, Direct, Xpress and Sound+.

Half of office workers in Ireland have clicked a link in a suspicious email in the past year

HCSa leading IT, cybersecurity, and digital transformation services company, announced the results of new research that explores office workers’ attitudes to, and experiences of, cybersecurity at work. The study found that in the past 12 months, more than half (51%) of office workers in Ireland have clicked on a link or attachment within a suspicious email sent to their work email address.

The research of 503 office workers based in Ireland was carried out by Censuswide on behalf of HCS, with the support of Fortinet, global leader driving the evolution of cybersecurity and the convergence of networking and security. It found that 50% of those who admitted to clicking on a link and/or attachment in a suspicious email also claimed to be confident that they can identify phishing emails when they receive them.

Of those who opened a suspicious link or attachment, 61% reported it to the proper authority in their workplace immediately, while 34% reported it within the same day, but not immediately.

As employees can often be the first point of attack for cyber criminals targeting businesses, those surveyed were asked how they determine whether a communication received on a work-related device is legitimate. The survey found that 65% check whether it has come from a caller or sender that they recognise, 53% check whether the caller or sender is asking for private or sensitive information, and half look for grammar or spelling errors. A quarter (25%) contact the caller or sender via another form of communication to confirm their identity.

As the cyber threat landscape continues to evolve, 67% of those surveyed say they are aware of their company having a plan or protocol in the event of a successful cyberattack. Despite this, just 41% of office workers said their employer has provided formal cybersecurity awareness training in the past year. Of those who haven’t received any cybersecurity training in this timeframe, 79% said that their previous training is not sufficient to keep pace with modern cyber threats.

When asked what they perceive to be the biggest cyber threats to their business in 2024, Irish-based office workers named human error (49%), malware (49%) and social engineering such as phishing (43%). Some 42% say phishing attempts are becoming more convincing.

Dan Hegarty, Head of Sales, HCS, said: “This research serves to highlight some of the real-world cybersecurity risks facing businesses. Employees are often the weakest link in an organisation’s chain of cyber defences, so it’s concerning to see that a large number of the employees who were deceived by a suspicious email also believe that they are alert to cybersecurity threats.

“Evidently, the training that employees are receiving – if any – may not be enough. The survey underscores the need for regular cybersecurity awareness training within organisations. The reality is that – particularly now, given the speed of advancement in AI – what could have sufficed 12 months ago may now be outdated. Complacency in this area could prove to be the biggest threat to businesses.

“Our research also shows that it’s not enough to just have a strategy in place in the event of a cyberattack. Any strategy needs to be tried and tested across the business and continually updated as cyberattacks continue to become more advanced. At HCS, we see first-hand the daily challenges posed to customers by cyber criminals attempting to exploit vulnerabilities. We ensure that security is at the core of everything that we do for our customers, minimising risk and enabling better business performance.”

Paul Donegan, Country Manager Ireland, Fortinet: “These findings underscore the need for continuous improvement within organisations. In a cyber landscape that’s becoming ever more complex, businesses must make cybersecurity a key priority and they must equip their employees with the tools to do the same. That’s why through the Fortinet Training Institute we are committed to supporting companies of all sizes to keep pace with evolving cybersecurity trends and skill sets with appropriate cybersecurity training and courses for every person in the organisation.

“It’s also important that employees understand the importance of putting their hands up if they make an error of judgment or are misled by a fraudulent email or call. It’s crucial to get out in front of a potential breach, and employees need to realise that time is of the essence and report an incident as soon as it happens. It’s up to organisations to promote this from the top down and instill a sense of cybersecurity ownership and responsibility across the business.”

Tech Review – Instax Square Link smartphone printer

The FUJIFILM Instax Square link is another addition to their popular range of smartphone printers whereby users can actually hold a photograph in their hand not long after it has been taken, the days of sending off your camera prints are long gone it seems and is a nice throwback to how things were done back in the day only better with just a few seconds to wait to hold the photo in your hand, I have loads of these dotted around the house and some of them framed having tested many of their printers and love it.

The latest model is no different and has some new features like AR prints which you can see how it works in the video review and also a sample there in the header image it is really cool and can add some flair to the bog standard photos which this machine also does.

You can also share images to others via the Connect feature which can be then edited or kept as is which again is a handy tool for some, speaking of tools there is plenty inside the app to get creative as before which is fun and you can really add some cool effects to your image taken or what’s already on your smartphone and it is a clean easy to use UI and everyone should have no issues navigating the menu but we show you this also in the video below if you have not seen previous reviews.

The printer is portable and robust and can fit in a bag or big pocket and the battery life is decent too and makes it a great gadget to bring out to take photos and create real memories which you can then edit and more and have that photo in your hand rather than all over social media.

Key features of SQUARE Link include:

AR (Augmented Reality) Print:

SQUARE Link offers the ability to add Augmented Reality features to images, including special effects, text, images, background colours, doodles, and animations. A QR code printed on the photo unlocks the augmented reality content that users can then view on and around their print by simply scanning the code with their Smartphone to see the effects in action.

INSTAX Connect:

Using the SQUARE Link App, the INSTAX Connect feature allows users to share INSTAX images digitally by selecting a smartphone image, adding text content and/or effects, and sending it to any connected device (i.e. smartphone, tablet, etc.). Users can add text to their images and get text responses sent back directly on the image. Recipients who are also SQUARE Link users can even print a copy of the image with or without the text included.

Ability to customize your INSTAX prints with Image Modes, Design Frames, and Stickers

Like all products in the INSTAX Link Smartphone printer line-up, SQUARE Link includes a variety of frame templates, digital stickers, and print mode options that allow the image maker to creatively enhance the image. Users can choose between two print mode options – INSTAX-Rich Mode for deep, enhanced colours and INSTAX-Natural Mode for a more classic look. Smartphone images can also be enhanced with artistic filters or by adjusting brightness, contrast, and saturation of the image. Users of SQUARE Link also can combine up to nine pictures into a single INSTAX print collage via the collage feature of the App.

Lightweight Portability and Speed

Compact, lightweight, and finished with a striped texture, SQUARE Link transfers an image from the user’s smartphone and commences printing in about 12 seconds, supports continuous printing, and is capable of printing about 100 INSTAX prints per charge seamlessly via Bluetooth.

Why Is Link Building Important For Your Business? Find Out Here

As an entrepreneur, you know that success depends on various factors. One key factor is your ability to build strong links for your business website. There are many different types of links that you can build for your website. The most common types include backlinks, blog comments, directory listings, guest posts, and social media likes or shares. Website owners, bloggers, and other online marketers all rely on link building to help them reach their business goals. You may be wondering why link building is so important. Keep reading to find out more about this essential aspect of online success.

Creates More visibility for your Website

One of the best benefits of link building is that it can help you create more visibility for your website. When you have links across the web pointing back to your site, this can help you to increase your online visibility. More people are likely to discover your website and engage with it. Increased visibility is essential for newer businesses or those without a large marketing budget.

Consumers will notice your website when you invest in link-building strategies that work. There are many different tools and techniques that you can use to build the right types of links for your website. Of course, it is crucial to consider finding quality backlinks relevant to your industry that can provide value to your website visitors. By focusing on link building, you can help your business succeed in today’s competitive online marketplace.

Helps You Improve Your Search Engine Ranking

One of the most important reasons to focus on link building is that it can help you improve your website’s search engine ranking. When you have strong links pointing to your site, this signals to search engines that your site is valuable and worth displaying in search results. As a result, your site is more likely to appear higher up on the results list when potential customers perform a search related to your business.

When your site is ranked high in search engine results, this also means that you are more likely to gain quality traffic. People looking for the products or services you offer will be able to see your site and click on it. This can help you to grow your business quickly and easily.

Builds Trust and Credibility

Another reason to focus on link building is that it can help you build trust and credibility with potential customers. When other websites link to your site, they trust your site and believe it contains high-quality information. This can help you attract more visitors to your site and convert them into paying customers.

This can be especially beneficial if you can get links from authority sites in your industry. Authority sites are those that are well-known and respected by consumers. These links show that you are an authority figure in your industry, which can help you gain the trust of potential customers.

Builds Your Reputation as an Authority in Your Industry

Another critical reason link building is so important is that it helps you build a strong reputation as an authority in your industry. When other sites with high authority link to yours, this tells search engines that your website has valuable content and should be considered an expert resource for anyone researching your industry or niche. As a result, people who visit your site will view you as an expert in your field and be more likely to use your products or services.

This is a critical way to build trust with potential customers and encourage them to do business with you. It can also help you attract more high-quality links in the future, as other websites will want to link to a site considered an authority in its industry.

Generates More Traffic to Your Site

Link building can also generate more traffic to your website. When people see links to your site on other websites, they may be curious about what you have to offer and click on the link to visit your site. This can help you increase the number of visitors to your site quickly and easily.

More traffic can lead to more sales and higher profits for your business. It can also help you build a strong customer base that will continue to do business with you. In addition, if people find your site through a link on another site, they are more likely to remember your URL. Hence, revisit your site in the future. This can help you build a loyal customer base that keeps coming back to your site.

Allows You to Reach New Audiences

Link building allows you to reach new audiences that may be interested in your products or services. When you receive links from other websites related to your industry, this can help you attract customers who are unfamiliar with your business.

As a result, you can grow your customer base and increase sales for your company. Link building is an essential aspect of online marketing and should not be overlooked by any entrepreneur looking to build a successful business website. By focusing on different link-building techniques, you can improve your search engine ranking and generate more traffic to your site. As a result, you can grow your business quickly and easily.

Helps Connect With Other Businesses and Influencers

One of the most important reasons why link building is so crucial for your business is that it allows you to connect with other companies and influencers in your industry. This can help you build valuable relationships that lead to future collaboration opportunities, joint ventures, or sales referrals.

When businesses and influencers link to your site, this can also increase the visibility of your website and help you gain more traffic from potential customers. If these connections lead to sales opportunities down the road, they can be a great way to generate new revenue for your business.

Whether you’re an entrepreneur looking to grow your business, an online marketer trying to build your brand, or simply someone who wants to improve their search engine rankings and visibility, link building is an essential part of success. By focusing on various link-building activities, such as guest posting on other sites or sharing content on social media, you can build strong relationships with other online marketers and improve your search engine ranking and visibility.

Powerful Link Building Strategies Every Website Owner Should Know

The online world is huge and growing larger every day, so it’s only natural that more and more people are looking to get in on this new gold rush. That means it’s becoming increasingly difficult to stand out from the crowd. Yet one way of doing so is by building quality backlinks to your site, which helps search engines rank your site higher in their results pages. In fact, it’s one of the most powerful SEO tactics available. But how can you build these links? Well, unless you decide to outsource link building, you need a strategy. Here are a few of the best:

1: Quality content

This is by far the most important factor when it comes to earning backlinks. If you have valuable, unique content on your site, other sites are likely to link to it as a reference or resource. This is because they know their readers will find your content interesting and useful. So make sure you invest time and effort into creating high-quality content, because it’s the best way to start building great backlinks.

2: The social media effect

One of the most popular ways of linking to other sites is through using a hashtag system on Twitter and Instagram. This means that tweeting or posting about your latest blog post with a trending hashtag will not only get you more clicks but could also lead to links from other sites, too.

3: Get involved in online communities

Another way of earning links is by getting involved in online communities and forums related to your niche. Share your knowledge and insights on relevant topics, and people will start to take notice. If you provide valuable information, others will be more likely to link to your site as a reference.

4: Give away freebies

Another great way to attract links is by giving away freebies related to your niche. This could be anything from an eBook or whitepaper to a tool or template. If you make it valuable and interesting, people will be more than happy to link to it from their own sites.

5: Create a resource page

A great way to attract links is by creating a resource page on your site that lists all of your best content and tools. This will make it easier for people to find what they’re looking for, and they may also decide to link to it from their own websites.

6: Get interviewed by bloggers

Another great way to get links is by being interviewed by influential bloggers in your niche. This will help you reach a new audience, and the blogger may also decide to link to your site as a reference.

7: Guest post on other sites

One of the best ways to get links is by guest posting on high-quality websites in your niche. Not only will this help you reach a new audience, but the website owner may also decide to link to your site as a reference as well.

8: Use HARO

HARO is a great way to get links from high-quality sources. It stands for Help A Reporter Out, and it’s a service that connects journalists with sources for their stories. If you provide valuable information, you may be contacted by a reporter and asked to participate in an interview or contribute to a story. And if your contribution is published, you’ll likely receive a link from the publication’s website.

9: Don’t forget about local sites

When it comes to link building, don’t forget about local sites. These could be anything from small-town newspapers to city magazines or websites. Get involved in your community and you might be able to get a link for your site.

10: Guest blog on an industry site

Another useful (and powerful) way of getting quality backlinks is by guest blogging on industry sites. This may not come easily to you, but if your site is targeted towards a certain niche, there’s no reason why you shouldn’t be able to find relevant websites that are looking for new content.

Conclusion

Building backlinks is an important part of any SEO strategy, and there are a number of different ways to go about it. The methods listed above are some of the best and most effective ways to get started. So don’t wait – start building those links today.

Superpedestrian launches the ‘world’s safest and smartest escooters’ into Bordeaux as it expands into France as its sixth European market

Superpedestrian has launched a fleet of LINK shared e-scooters in Bordeaux. The forward-looking French city takes a pioneering approach to shared micromobility and is a fitting new home for the high-tech vehicle that has been labelled “the Volvo of e-scooters” (Boston Globe).

Superpedestrian rolled out 100 of its LINK e-scooters this week; the city permit limits all shared e-scooter operators to a maximum of 100 vehicles.

All riders will enjoy free unlocks until 30 October 2021. During the same period, when a rider loads €15 to their in-app wallet, Superpedestrian will contribute €30 – tripling a rider’s original contribution. (When a rider loads €5, Superpedestrian adds €5; when a rider loads €10, Superpedestrian adds €15.)  The standard per-minute ride fee is just €0.20.

The Superpedestrian service is available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. To rent a scooter, riders simply need to search for Superpedestrian’s LINK app in the Google or Apple app stores.

“I’m delighted to bring Superpedestrian’s superior technology and service to the citizens of Bordeaux,” comments Haya Verwoord Douidri, VP (strategy, policy and market expansion) at Superpedestrian. “We opened our first shared fleet in Europe just 12 months ago. Bordeaux marks our sixth country in Europe and our 32nd city on the Continent. It’s been an incredible journey so far and I look forward to serving French cities with our safe, accessible and sustainable service.”

Electrified operations and world-first safety features

Superpedestrian manages its Bordeaux fleet using 100% electric vans, across a deployment area of approximately 30sq km. This helps minimise environmental impact, which is important to Superpedestrian as a company that was certified as 100% carbon neutral earlier this year.

Superpedestrian is the company behind Pedestrian Defense, a novel technology unveiled in July 2021 that is the first in the world to prevent footpath riding by scooter riders in real-time, rather than just detect it. The system is currently undergoing road-testing across North America and Europe and will arrive in France in 2022.

LINK already features Superpedestrian’s patented Vehicle Intelligence (VI) system. This network of sensors, microprocessors and AI runs 1,000 vehicle health checks every second during a ride, modifies performance to avoid component failures (such as battery fires), notifies operations teams immediately if it is not upright (tip-over detection) and removes itself from service if it detects any one of 140 safety-critical conditions (including issues with electronics, battery, motor and brakes).

Simply put, VI is like having a full-scooter x-ray continuously, every time you go for a ride. This sets a new benchmark when it comes to shared mobility standards, and is as big a step forward in scooter safety as the seat belt was for cars.

Five reasons why Superpedestrian is great news for Bordeaux

  1. Fully carbon neutral. Every journey that Bordeaux riders choose to make on LINK scooters instead of using a car is one that helps combat the climate crisis. Because we design, engineer and manufacture our own vehicles, we minimise CO2 at every stage.
  2. Affordable for all. We are the first in our sector to truly promote accessibility programs. For example, in 2021 the Seattle Department of Transport reported that 15% of trips on LINK scooters start or end in low-income communities – 10 times the next nearest provider.
  3. Efficiency at heart. We designed the industry’s first onboard, AI-based predictive maintenance system. This reduces repairs, cuts waste, extends service life and increases fleet availability. Better maintenance efficiency is better for the planet.
  4. Protecting public spaces. LINK is unique in its ability to store geofence maps and commands onboard the scooter itself. With 24,000 discrete map zones and an enforcement time of just 0.7s, LINK protects pedestrians and riders alike.
  5. Wireless updates. Just like a Tesla car, LINK features an operating system that is updated remotely over-the-air. Each update brings better range, performance and safety features. Because LINK gets smarter and safer with age, Bordeaux will never have to wait for upgrades.

And four reasons why Bordeaux residents will love riding LINK scooters

  1. A superior ride. The LINK scooter is 20% wider and 9% longer than the industry average, with wider handlebars and robust suspension. This gives riders a far more stable riding experience, just as a downhill skier selects longer skis for more predictable handling.
  2. Long-range batteries. LINK scooters feature a 98km range battery, three times the industry average. This is perfect for commuters and shoppers, as well as the day trippers and tourists.
  3. High visibility in all weather. Super-bright LED lights front and rear that are always on, a rear light that brightens during braking, a unique LED ring light information system on the handlebar and safety-yellow paint scheme help make LINK riders clearly visible, any time of day or night.
  4. Sealed, secure, safe. Guarding against catastrophic battery failures is important in a city with  major waterways. Our battery is triple-sealed to protect against inclement weather, vandals and water immersion – and VI automatically shuts down all circuits in five nanoseconds if water immersion is detected.
