Jabra has released a new software update to Elite 85t, available in the Jabra Sound+ app, to enable Alexa as a Voice Assistant at the tap of a button. This means now you have an extra voice assistant which is excellent news for users of this great set of earbuds.
Alexa Built-in
With this update, users will now be able to choose Alexa as their preferred Voice Assistant on both Android and iOS by following these steps in the Sound+
If the Alexa app is not yet downloaded, users will be directed to download it from their app store. Once the app is available, users will be directed through the needed steps to set-up Alexa on their phone. Once Alexa has been chosen as preferred Voice Assistant, users will be able to enjoy more Voice Assistant experiences just by double tapping on their right earbud. This means users have access to Alexa features such as:
Setting up routines (e.g. Alexa, good morning – plays music, turns on the lights)
Jabra, leaders in personal sound and office solutions, announces three new features on the Jabra Elite 85t, made available via the Jabra Sound+ app; MyFit, headset renaming and Off-mode to earbud toggle. This is the first software upgrade offered to Elite 85t users following the launch in October 2020, that adds brand new features to the earbud.
MyFit – ensuring the best ANC and music experience
The MyFit feature on the Sound+ app allows Elite 85t users to confirm their correct EarGel™ size and position to optimise their ANC and audio experience. The feature works as a fit test where a 6.5 second multitone is played to check for sound leakage with the help of the in-ear microphone. Sound leakage detected in either earbud is an indication of a poor fit and users will be requested to readjust their earbud or change their EarGel size. The process can be repeated until a good fit is achieved.
Through providing this feature, Jabra is ensuring that users of the Elite 85t have the best seal possible, ultimately giving the users an enhanced audio experience, improved active noise-cancellation and deeper base.
Further personalisation with more sound mode cycle options and a headset name
The next feature being offered to Elite 85t users is related to the sound mode cycles available (controlled via the buttons on the earbuds), which adds to the previously available cycle options; HearThrough and ANC. With this addition, users will now be able to cycle between HearThrough, ANC and off.
Jabra has now expanded the cycle option on the earbud to become the same as the cycle option in the app, providing users with the complete variety of sound mode cycles:

Finally, Elite 85t users will now also have the option to name their headset, further enhancing the personalisation experience Jabra strives to deliver. This addition will change the name of their headset in both the Sound+ app and the Bluetooth list, so there is no confusion on who they belong to.

Impeccable call quality, sound and fit
The flexible working trend is set to continue during 2021, and with that comes a demand for the ability to take calls anywhere. The Jabra Elite 85t earbuds bring outstanding call quality for the user and the person on the other end, thanks to the 6-mic technology (three on each earbud, two on the outside, one on the inside).
The microphones on the inside and outside of the earbuds are used to provide Jabra Advanced ANCTM, which goes beyond an on/off solution. Users are offered a more personalised experience with the dual slider which goes from full ANCto full HearThrough, and anywhere in between.
The 12mm speakers allow the Jabra Elite 85t to produce a big sound and powerful bass, while still enhancing comfort and relieving ear pressure with its semi-open design. Jabra has also adapted the ear gels to an oval shape providing a better sealing in the ear, while ensuring they stay in place. This means the tower of the Elite 85t does not sit as deeply within the ear, giving users a more comfortable earbud and a good seal. With ANC on, the earbuds boast a battery life of up to 5.5 hours, with up to 25 hours in the compact charging case and are Qi-qualified – for wireless charging.

The all new Jabra elite 85t have dropped in and I cant wait to test these out, i am coming from the Elite Active 75t which are an excellent pair of True Wireless and one of the best pairs last year and in my top 5 True Wireless earbuds.

Semi-open design
The 12mm speakers allow the Jabra Elite 85t to produce a big sound and powerful bass, while still enhancing comfort and relieving ear pressure with its semi-open design. Jabra has also adapted the ear gels to an oval shape providing a better sealing in the ear. This means the tower of the Elite 85t does not sit as deeply within the ear, giving users a more comfortable earbud, while maintaining a very secure fit.
Elite 85t provides up to 5.5 hours of listening with ANC on, which extends to 25 hours with the charging case with ANC on and 31 hours with ANC off.

Elite 75t with ANC as standard
Now with ANC – the award-winning Elite 75t, both Active and non-Active earbuds. Same great calls, same great sound and a fit like no other, now with the addition of Jabra’s standard ANC solution, applying to music and media playback. This free upgrade is being made available to users through Jabra’s engineering on Qualcomm technology. Taking advantage of the superior digital audio processor already available in Elite 75t and leading ANC know-how, Jabra has been able to deploy ANC in the existing product line.
The Jabra Elite 75t series will also be available to purchase with ANC as standard from October 2020. This means that both those who have an Elite 75t product, or are in the market for one, can experience Jabra’s standard level of ANC; ensuring noise cancellation on lower frequencies.
The ANC enabled models will also continue to have IP55/IP57 rated durability, and a two-year warranty. With ANC on, battery will be 5.5 hrs on a single charge (24 hrs in total with charging case), and with ANC off it will be the existing 7.5 hrs and 28 hrs in total. Better still, the addition of ANC as standard adds no additional cost to the earbuds.
