Sennheiser launches the Conversation Clear Plus

Many people find it difficult to clearly understand conversations in noisy environments, such as in a busy restaurant or on a loud street. Conversation Clear Plus features advanced speech enhancement technology to let your conversation take centre stage in every interaction. With their smart, intuitive features, these stylish earbuds set a new standard for speech-enhanced consumer wearables

Effortlessly clear conversations in noisy environments

Utilising sophisticated Sonova chip technology, conversations and calls are enhanced thanks to the Sennheiser Automatic Scene Detection feature, which analyses the noise level of a user’s environment and matches the speech enhancement level to their surroundings.

Integrated into the compact and modern earbuds, Automatic Scene Detection ensures the clearest speech in challenging environments, be it in person or on the phone. In concert with Active Noise Cancellation, Conversation Clear Plus works dynamically to block distracting noises and improve the clarity of conversations for every level of background noise.

Conversation Clear Plus lets you choose how much background noise you want to hear. Active Noise Cancellation blocks out distractions, while the Ambient Awareness mode enables more connection with the outside environment when desired.

”Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus reflects our customers’ dynamic lives, allowing users to follow every conversation with ease, wherever they are,” says Daniel Holenstein, Sennheiser Senior Product Manager. “An independent study showed 95% of users experienced significant speech enhancement in noisy situations when using the product.”

Easy set-up and operation
With step-by-step guidance in the companion app, getting started with Conversation Clear Plus is easy. In combination with the Conversation Clear Plus app, the earbuds deliver an intuitive, hassle-free user experience for tailoring listening preferences.

Dedicated settings for three different listening scenarios make personalising the audio experience effortless. The ‘Relax’ listening scenario lets sound enthusiasts customise the amount of background noise they want to block, while the ‘Communication’ and ‘Streaming’ scenarios automatically adjust settings for the best performance and clarity during conversations and while streaming content, respectively.

Connecting is a breeze with integrated true wireless technology, making pairing with any Bluetooth-enabled device quick and hassle-free. Offering excellent comfort with its ergonomic design, the Conversation Clear Plus earbuds feature an outstanding nine-hour battery life so that they are charged and ready for whenever they are needed. The charging case makes recharging user-friendly on the go, offering another 27 hours of usage time.

Conversation Clear Plus complements the new Sennheiser hearing solutions product category, with best-in-class products for different situations to come in 2023 and beyond.

Pricing and availability
The Sennheiser Conversation Clear Plus will be available for pre-order on January 5, 2023, and on sale on January 20 with an MSRP of £749.

Tech Review – Skullcandy Sesh ANC earbuds

The Skullcandy Sesh are one the latest true wireless in their range which come in at an affordable price offering great features for those who do not want to fork out big money and wants something that sounds good and these deliver in these aspects, With the traditional packing you’d expect from the company you get all you need in the box from the get go which will not break the bank and with some good sales on now you could pick these up at a super price.

These come with a charging case which is one that will not open on shaking or if left open your earbuds will not fall out and the case has USB-C charging. The case is plastic with a Matt Black finish just like the earbuds themselves so a standard affair here which is no big deal, I Would like to see more colours though than the traditional Black or White options we tend to see these days.

The case has LEDs on the front to give you a battery status and up to 25 hours with ANC on using the case provided and is  sufficient at the price point and fine for commuter journeys and so on but you can use these in the gym or walking in the rain as they are IP55 rated. The charge case is an average size like the buds themselves and are pocketable. When it comes to fit these are a solid one, for me they fit nice and snug and do not budge when jogging or walking and with that have good passive isolation sealing out a good bit of the outside world but they do not have audio pass through which is fine at this price. They have been one of the better fitting ones I have tried of late and that’s a good thing but everyone’s ears differ and there is extra tips in the box to get that perfect fit.

This time around unlike their previous version has access to their app which is certainly welcome giving you more additional features and allowing you to tune to your needs and the sound is great, highs lows and mids are fine good bass and decent volume levels so for movies music gaming  ( there is a game mode option here )and more you will be covered with great sound without having to break the bank. The ANC is quite decent and calls have been also surprisingly good.

See the video below for more.

Features

  • The buds hold up to 6 hours with ANC on, and the case charges the buds 4 times between plug-ins. Plus, with Rapid Charge, the first 10 minutes of charging give you 2 hours of play time.
  • Sesh ANC boasts an IP55 rating for sweat, water and dust resistance. That means there’s no need to panic (or even hit pause) next time you work up a serious sweat or find yourself caught in the rain.
  • You can access advanced features through the Skullcandy App. Adjust Stay-Aware Mode, choose a preset or custom equalizer, access the free Tile app and more.
  • Clear Voice Smart Mic is the closest thing to talking in person. It uses artificial intelligence to isolate the speaker’s voice and reduce background noise.
  • Sesh ANC earbuds automatically connect to your device when removed from the case. They also feature on-earbud controls — play, pause, skip, adjust volume, take calls and more without ever touching your phone.

Tech Review – Allway Open-Ear True Wireless Earphones OE10

Earbuds come in all shapes and sizes and this is a new fresh design this time around from a company called Allway. Allway is an innovative tech brand principally engaged in the R&D, manufacture, and distribution of Bluetooth headphones, speakers, and other creative devices. The company has established solid partnerships with Huawei, Philips, Sony, Apple, Farouk Systems, Lenovo, Alibaba, JD.com, Baidu, and other world-renowned brands.

We have been testing their latest product to the market the OE10 over the last while and from their presentation to their looks do they pass the tests we conduct here which is hours of music, movies videos and more…

Unlike the TWS headphones with a semi-in-ear design which may generate pressure inside the ears, in particular for long-time wearing. OE10, the true-wireless, open-ear earphones don’t go in your ears at all, they are more like a personal stereo that sits on your ears. Different from the bone-conduction headphones which people have suggested these were to me and I quickly pointed out they are not rely on the sound being transmitted through vibrations on the bones of the head and jaw,  the Allway OE10 uses Open Audio directional sound transmission technology to deliver sound waves through the air for a more natural listening experience, reducing the issue of sound spillage and amplification. Relying on 30 years of experience in audio devices manufacturing, we use our self-developed bass enhancement technology to deliver rich, full-range sound that far exceeds the standard of similar products in the market.

Allway Open-Ear true wireless – techbuzzireland

Precision ports direct sound from two 16.2 mm drivers with a frequency range of up to 20KHz,  and are equipped with a high-quality composite diaphragm and optimised adjustment by Allway Acoustics Laboratory, the low frequency is full of volume, and the mid and high frequency is clear and delicate. Dual-mic ENC noise reduction captures the sound and eliminates background noise, providing clear, and excellent conversation quality.

With the touch sensor control panel on both sides, you can perform operations with taps and swipes, without taking out your mobile phone from your pocket.  Adjust the volume or answer a call plus a variety of functions with just a tap.  Bluetooth connection between two devices, audio can be switched between devices in real-time. Leverage the latest Bluetooth 5.3, and support AAC HD decoding, users can customise operation with the Free Allway App ( available for both iOS and Android devices) which we will show you in the video review below and also see the screenshots provided here.

The Allway OE10 is rated IPX4. Whether it’s sweat after a workout or sudden rain, the full angle splash protection ensures OE10 has a longer service life. OE10 charges can be charged with a Type-C cable in 1.5 hours, earphones play time is up to 6 hours under moderate settings; the charging case offers an extra 4 full charges, which makes the total play time up to 24 hours, making them easy to cope with long training sessions or sports.

Tech Review – Sony Linkbuds

The Sony Linkbuds are certainly a strange pair of earbuds when compared to the rest on the market today and it was quite the topic when I had them out in public, People seen them on the table be it out for breakfast or dinner or enjoying a few pints all asked “what the heck are they” and when i said earbuds the response was “no way” so I introduced them all to the new style of earbuds that perhaps was a risky move but for me a good one because you would get bored of the same design and styles that are out there today and you have to give Sony credit for that.

So I have been using these a few weeks and there is many reviews already and we go into more detail in the video review below so be sure to check out where we look at the design and their app and more. The first thing that would spring to mind does the quality of sound get less with a smaller product and the answer for the most part is no, I did find the volume a little on the lower side than I would prefer too but that is my personal choice here.

They lack other features too which I would expect but this is a new move by Sony and a completely new design from the norm so they had to give somewhere, they look like a small polo mint but do not let that put you off on how they fit and stay in your ears because they do both well and never fell out for me but for some others that tried they did, we all have different ears after all.

There is little noise isolation here either however this is the purpose of them I think to allow you to hear your surroundings which for some is a good thing, no ANC which again might be fine for some and I get the point here as these are to allow you listen to music and what is also going on around you so not for everyone considering we have passthrough now on most earbuds today.

When it comes to sound they do a decent job to be fair but again not as loud and I found the bass a bit lacking in comparison to other earbuds from Sony so for bass lovers you might pass on these but  they have their app which can allow you to tweak things a little and their app is decent to be fair. When it comes to an overall audio experience they do fine on highs lows and mids and all that good stuff and if you are watching movies or gaming the audio quality is decent yet you can still hear your surroundings at the same time.

Call quality is actually good but no multipoint connection which for some might be a problem however I do not see these as an earbud you would use in an office environment, given I test mine in both at my office and outside I see these more for those on the go or the gym for example or again those who travel on public transport but with earbuds today you can really use them anywhere you like and people will wear just about anything these days be it for show or just that I have the latest look at me kinda thing like Apple fanboys for example.

The price is where a problem may lie for some with the omitted features mentioned above but Sony has a loyal fanbase and will still buy into it and again to have something different than the rest and these certainly are that..

The Sony Linkbuds are now widely available and check the price in your region or online as they do vary quite a bit. Buy from Sony.ie

Tech Review – Gravastar Sirius P5 combo earbuds

The Gravastar Sirius P5 have been a hit at home here with family and friends with how the package was presented and also the ability to change the skins which is a first and for me it is also a welcome option and other manufacturers should take note, we can change our phone cases anytime with options galore but why not with our earbuds and I do not mean by a skin or case I mean included in the package you buy. If you missed the unboxing see it here.

Ok so there is no app here again which is fine but I feel like one could come along soon from the company to ad some more to their already great line-up of products that also sound good but do these pass the test on sound like previous models? In short yes the are well balanced decently loud and more, highs lows and mids are fine, direction is great nice bass and overall the right balance has been made again with these earbuds and for me will be fine for anyone who is not an audiophile, having said that they are a cut above the rest for this price too and for gaming movies and YouTube music etc they done a great job for me with the 12 mm drivers inside, not only that battery life is great and the light that you can see through the case is also a battery indicator to give you an idea of when to recharge them, the battery life is also good here getting 7.5 hour mark for me on max volume. The controls are the same as before here and easy to use and again we demo this in the video review below.

An important feature to note here is they have got multipoint connection which is often left out on earbuds three times the price of these which is a great feature which makes them ideal for people who like to use either a PC or phone for example.

Overall here you are getting value for money something different and a product that sounds good too and most of all looks good so for aesthetics here shining through the sound is not cheap dull or boring and punchy and again these  make an ideal gift for yourself of the sci-fi lover in your life. Check the video for more below.
