#Youtube adds Spatial Audio on-demand to their 360° videos By @VicenteA_George #spatialaudio #Google

360° videos where added to YouTube last year as impulse for VR technology, with their very own Spotlight Stories and some other extras, the 360-degree live streaming will now be way more immersive thanks to the addition of Spatial Audio.

With Spatial audio build in, the streaming transform into an almost “live experience.

From the announcement we know that some of the artists performing this weekend at Coachella are going to have this almost “7.1 audio” capability.

But for your own enjoyment here’s a sample of what would it sound like:

YouTube has been working with companies like VideoStitch, Two Big Ears, ALLie, Vahana VR and Orah 4i to assure their software if totally compatible with the platform.

So, it will be available on more videos and locations to allow people from all around the globe to enjoy this.

The goal is no just entertainment, as the company also aims to make tours and travel-like experiences available, students can have a tour around the pyramids without leaving the classroom.

We’ve been having 360° videos for long, but now those videos are going to be way more useful for other things besides entertainment.

Neal Mohan, Chief Product Officer of YouTube says:

What excites me most about 360-degree storytelling is that it lets us open up the world’s experiences to everyone. Students can now experience news events in the classroom as they unfold. Travelers can experience faraway sites and explorers can deep-sea dive, all without the physical constraints of the real world. And today’s kids dreaming of going to a basketball game or a concert can access those experiences firsthand, even if they’re far away from the court. What were once limited experiences are now available to anyone, anywhere, at any time.

In addition to this incredible feature, the usual live streaming video can now be made in 360 degrees.

Now user will be allowed to stream in high quality thanks to the new support fpr 1440p at 60fps resolution, leaving no room to complain about it.

User just need to have a compatible hardware and they are ready to roll.

What are your thoughts on VR? Do you think we are there yet? Which video you would to experience on 360° spatial audio form? Let us know in the comment section below

Chimo – Send anonymous sms messages to vehicle owners. #Chimo #Motoring

Some will think this is a stupid idea or it is a genius idea, here in Ireland I think the latter. Chimo is a new app that allows users to send sms to vehicles registered on the app,As its just launched it is in its infancy so it will take time to create a user database or reg- plates, however on setting up the app you must pick a valid one but this could be anyone’s reg plate which is a concern. To sign up you can either use your Facebook profile or phone number so it will curb bogus account to an extent.

The app though can be use for good things, such as if your car is stolen or if their parking is about to expire, the other way you could use it is entirely up to you,for instance if you have an annoying driver in front or behind you,you can capture their reg plate, see if they are registered and send all the profanities you like,of course not when driving..Overall this app can be quite useful and beneficial and you can send sms to those that annoy you,it works both ways and once it gets traction it could be a winner..

Description

Chimo is the world’s only mobile app that allows you to directly and anonymously message the owner of a vehicle!

Install the app, register your license plate number, and instantly have access to the fastest growing mobile network of vehicle owners. Just search for the license plate you’d like to message, and if that user is also on the app, you’ll be able to send direct messages to their device.

Notice someone’s meter about to expire? Chimo them with a heads up!

Someone blocking your parked car? Chimo them and ask for a move!

Is something suspicious happening inside or outside of another vehicle? Chimo them with a warning!

Did someone pay for your coffee in the drive-thru? Chimo them and say thanks!

Samsung’s new app stops kids from being to close to devices screen. #Samsung #Kids

Be it a tablet or mobile phone our kids these days are more tech savvy than we would like to think and they are now spending a fair bit of time on either the parents mobile phone or even their own tablet ,One good thing is these devices keep them quite, but the downfall to that is spending too much time on them and having their heads buried into the screen which is by no means a good thing, this new app aims to change this and so far it works well but on tablets the choice is limited from what I have tested and it wont download direct from the store but Samsung have provided an APK which you can side-load onto your device,it works fine so far but there is some differences with speed at times on how it reacts..

Setting up the app takes seconds where to parent can enter a name and password, you can keep this short if you like and this allows you to turn on and off the feature and stop the child disabling it.

This Samsung Safety Screen app operates in the background so you can open other applications at the same time. It uses facial recognition technology by using the front camera on the device to calculate the optimal distance. When the child’s eyes are too close to the screen, the app will block a big part of the screen and advises the child to move back using a friendly animation.

Download the app below or use the APK provided beneath, its official and safe.

We talk to Niall McDermott,Founder & Director of @DateIdeaApp #Apps #Dates

At Techbuzzireland we like to feature and support Apps made in Ireland and anywhere else for that matter and today we are going to talk about a new app called DateIdeaApp which is founded and directed by Niall Mc Dermott from Belfast and he is going to tell us some more about himself and how the app came to life.

So Niall tell us about you first of all..

Belfast has been my home for over a decade now but it probably took me half that time to spread my wings from the University Quarter and explore the wider social, arts & culture scene that this great city has to offer, from award winning plays to fantastic live music as well as local talent in the arts scene.
In August 2013 while working full time as a Sales & Business Development Manager at Harland and Wolff I started designing a new entertainments listing website for Belfast after becoming frequently frustrated when trying to find out what events were happening that me and my girlfriend could go out for a date night on.
Less than two years later, single again, and still having similar issues – trying to think of entertainment for nights out with girls I had met through (now popular and widely accepted) dating apps – I ditched the website concept (as it was too similar to my competitors) and started developing my own smartphone app… DATEIDEA.
What is this app all about then?
The App is designed to give you actual options of what to do for a date night whether that be a first date, a steady date (to try somewhere new), a marriage date (because maybe you haven’t been out in a while) or even just a night out with friends or family. The DATEIDEA App is primarily an events compiling service, showcasing in chronological format the upcoming events in Belfast with details of start time, venue location and ticket/entry costs.Check out the simple explainer video below. Its quite straight forward.
Who do you expect to use this app and what else is to come?
My users are the the General Public who can download the App for free and find out ideas for dates with someone special, their friends or just family. My customers are the event promoters and venue operators who want to advertise directly to the people looking for somewhere to go. At the minute we only have standard events listings but we are introducing promoted listings and deal offers soon.
The DATEIDEA App was launched in Belfast on iOS Friday 20th November 2015 with an Android version launched on 29th January 2016. We have concentrated a lot of our programming recently on the back end analytics system to be able to offer a similar level of demographic performance reporting as social media adverts. We are hoping to launch in Dublin on 1st June and then expand to the UK in September.
You can follow on Social Media over on Twitter and on Facebook and of course their website dateideaapp.com and download the app below from the respective stores.

Save a Selfie App. Help show others where safety equipment is. #Safety #Selfie

Selfies are hugely popular in Ireland and to be fair worldwide,They can be annoying for some but overall people generally love them and even sport selfie sticks to enhance that special image,so why not capitalise on a growing trend? Well this app aims to do so by creating awareness of safety which is a great idea and perhaps other countries could follow suit. The app will give people some knowledge of where to find safety equipment in their locale and all communities should get involved, this could save lives which is important.

How it works.

The Save a Selfie app has been designed and developed to help members of the public pinpoint the location of emergency equipment in their local community.

They  need your help! Do you know the location of your nearest AED? First Aid Kit? Life-Ring? or Fire Hydrant? Why not help us by taking a selfie with it? – or if you’re shy a photo will do!

You can upload photos of emergency devices along with their locations to the interactive map.

Use filter options to find the devices you need.

Find where emergency devices are located in your area.

This application was developed in conjunction with Code for Ireland, Order of Malta Ambulance Ireland & the Dublin Fire Brigade.

There is a social app for book lovers called #Litsy #Books #App

There is apps for almost anything these days and when it comes to social media apps we have plenty, probably too much some might say but it aint going to stop anytime soon with more apps already in Beta and to what is already available now. This app is somewhat different and it is basically a social media app for those bookworms out there,Litsy is an app where you can join up post reviews, comment and search what others have in the community..Also in the app you can use the “Litfluence” scoring system which will make your profile stand out..

Description

The Litsy community is a groundswell of passionate readers, authors and influencers creating short posts about their “reading moments.” These posts are made of blurbs, photos, quotes and reviews, and each post is linked to one book.

Since enjoying a book has no end, Litsy is 100% mobile and allows you to capture whatever bookish thoughts you have, whenever you have them. Litsy also makes it easy to “go down the rabbit hole,” browsing your feed while on the go. When you find your next book, it’s easy to add it to your stack for future reading.

Brapp – A social app for the music lover. #Apps #Social #Music

Social Media is a powerful tool and there is plenty of apps now to communicate with others worldwide, the social aspect though is moving to particular interests now rather than sticking to the usual mainstream which allows people with the same interests hop on and stick to that topic at hand, Instagram for example is for taking pictures which now seems to be more of food than being social and snapping nice pictures and sharing them, its gone off on a tangent which annoys many and people post what they have for breakfast ,dinner and tea. This app called Brapp is one of the newer social apps that are topic at hand only,in this case its music.

Brapp is a social platform that puts a powerful studio in your pocket. Producers can upload beats and anyone can record a 1 minute video on top, mix down the audio with powerful studio effects, add video filters and instantly share with their followers.

CEO-Co Founder Niki Mukhi..

Niki’s focus is on the overall vision for Brapp, developing new features enabling people to discover, collaborate and connect globally.Niki has worked as a guitarist, MD and composer performing in over 50 cities worldwide. In 2011 he started creating concepts focused on bringing people together though our universal languages (primarily music). In 2014, whilst developing a writing tool for musicians he put together the concept and team for Brapp.

Artists and music lovers in over 80 countries are using Brapp to:
⁃ Upload their beats
⁃ Record videos on beats by producers around the world
⁃ Mix their recordings with the free and powerful audio effects (EQ, Pump, Delay and Reverb)
⁃ Enhance videos with built in video filters
⁃ Share videos and beats on and off Brapp
⁃ Discover, connect and keep up with new musical collaborations as they happen.
