Last year Samsung gave us a glimpse of what a premium looking phone could be with their Galaxy A line up, the A3, A5 and A7
All with the beautiful and stylish look we wanted to our Galaxy S5, on a smaller form factor, price and specs.
This year though they decided to join the “budget club” delivering some really good phone with a good price, with that in mind they recently launched an updated and upgraded version on the “A” series with the Galaxy A3, A5 and A7 of 2016
Unlike they predecessors, these variants follow the design language of the Galaxy S6 with a metal and glass construction.
These devices were set to launch in China this month but now we know they’re coming to our shores as soon as January 8th
But let’s take a look under the hood of the new Galaxy A line
Galaxy A3 (2016)
Network: LTE Cat.4 * May differ by markets and mobile operators
Connectivity: Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth® v 4.1, ANT+, USB 2.0, NFC (UICC)
Sensor: Accelerometer, Proximity, Geomagnetic, RGB Light, Hall Fingerprint scanner
Memory: 3GB RAM + 16GB Storage with Micro SD slot (up to 128GB)
Dimension: 151.5 x 74.1 x 7.3mm, 172g
Battery: 3,300mAh, Fast Charging
As you can see the A5 and A7 are the Big brothers packing even a Fingerprint reader while the A3 is what’s now consider “the compact version” allowing you to have almost everything you could ask in conservative color options like Black, White and Rose Gold.
These 2016 A series has as you could see a significant downside, they come with Android 5.1 instead of coming directly with 6.0 but this probably change really soon.
Now what really matters is the performance and that is something that we’ll see when they get here. The new Galaxy A line up is schedule to release on January, although we only have the price of two of these devices:
The Galaxy A3 will costs €329, while the Galaxy A5 will be €429 we have no info about the A7 but seeing the difference between the other two, this one will probably come at €529 (or maybe less)
This is at least what the only European retailer (in Nederland) is asking for them.
What do you think about these new boys? Will you take one home with you if they hit your local retailer? Let us know in the comment section bellow or Tweet us using #TechBuzzIreland
If you ever believe that Latin America tend to miss some products, you may be right most of the times, but in this particular case, Motorola has a different strategy with it Moto G line
Meet the Moto G Turbo
As you can imagine this model is an upgraded version of the original Moto G, but keeping what made it famous, the affordable price.
What do we have under the hood? • Stock Android 5.1.1 Lollipop • Dual Micro SIM slot • 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display + Corning Gorilla Glass 3 • 64-bit Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 615 (Same as Moto X Play) • Adreno 405 GPU • 2GB LPDDR3 RAM • 16GB internal storage + microSD slot • Rear 13MP f/2.0 camera • Front 5MP f/2.2 camera • Connectivity – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n (2.4GHz), Bluetooth 4.0 LE, 4G LTE/3G HSPA+ • 2470mAh battery + Motorola TurboCharge technology
The Moto G Turbo also packs IP67 Certification, this means that you can submerge the phone in up to 3 feet of water, for as long as 30 minutes, without any damage to the handset.
Headed to the Mexican market and available starting November 13th for a price equivalent to $283 (4699 pesos)
Motorola has confirmed that the device will be available in European Markets but dates are yet to be confirmed.
What do you think of this reincarnation of our beloved budget friendly phone?
Last year the Korean manufacturer Samsung introduced the Z1 an entry level phone backed up with their own OS Tizen.
Now they decided to extend the family with the new kid on the block the also low-end Samsung Z3
At simple sight the Z3 could easily be mistaken with a member of the Galaxy family, but when we take a closer look we realize that the back is made from plastic.
As said before this is not a high-end model despite the appearance, take a look at the specs:
A 5″ Super AMOLED display (720×1,280)
A Quad-core Spreadtrum chip
1GB of RAM
8GB of internal storage (With Micro SD slot up to 128GB)
8MP rear camera
5MP front-facing shooter with 120-degree
And 2,600mAh battery
All that powered by Tizen OS in version 2.3
In the connectivity department you’ll have WiFi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth® 4.0 BLE, GPS and GLONASS
The only really downgrade is that you will not have 4G connectivity, unfortunately there’s just 3G on board.
Following the steps of his big siblings this little boy also features an “Ultra Data Saving Mode’” that minimizes mobile data usage and an “Ultra Power Saving Mode” for continuous performance with low battery life.
One thing that has the Tizen behind other OS is the lack of apps as you’ll normally hear from any rising OS.
But as a bonus you’ll have the MixRadio app, one of the most personalized music services.
All in all is a good phone for trying new stuff.
The phone is already available to purchase in India for INR 8490 which translate into €114,25 (£84.68) or $131 in your choice of Gold, Black and Silver, but there’s no word about if this model will be available in other countries.

We’ve heard a lot about this “all metal” LG phone is the past days, but today LG Korea has made it official.
Introducing the LG Class
With all the bells and whistles we’ve heard about a new “Top of the Line” phone from LG the expectation grows for today possible announce of the rumored G4 Note, but what we have if a mid-range phone with a “premium” look.
The Class combine what we love the most about LG design language and that premium feel that All Metal phones have.
Take a look a the specs:
Screen: 5″ inch (1280 x 720)
Processor: Qualcomm Snapdragon 410
RAM: 2 GB
Memory: 16 GB with 2TB external SD card support
Front Camera: 8MP
Rear Camera: 13MP
Battery: 2.050 mAh (Non removable)
Size: 141 x 71,8 x 7,4 mm
OS: Android 5.1 Lollipop with LG UX 4 on top
Connections: 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.1, GPS, NFC, Wi-Fi,1W Speaker, FM Radio
There you have it, if you want a “Premium Looking” phone but are in a budget the Class is your better call.
The downside of the story is the fact of the Class being sold in Korea exclusively at the moment, with no info about whether or not is going to be available overseas.
Although you can find the phone at the local market, you can buy the phone unlock and use it (needs to check carrier bands though) for just €301 or $339
Even though the nice look and feel of the phone, the internal are not so premium at that price tag could be a little excessive.
What do you think? Is it “good looking” enough to bring it home from abroad?

Approximately 2 weeks ago a hackers attack began over thousands of websites using WordPress system infecting unsuspecting visitors with potent malware exploits.
The attack has claimed almost 15.000 sites using the CMS WordPress, the Sucuri Security team has been working hard since the beginning to ensure sites and protect the site’s visitors.
But the infected sites grew from 1,000 per day to almost 6,000 daily this due to attackers using a “Nuclear exploit kit” inserted in some vulnerable plugins redirecting visitors to hosting servers who carries the malware. The Nuclear exploit kit, is sold on the black market and uses a variety of different exploits depending on the operating system and available apps used by the visitor.
Sucuri has confirmed that almost 95% of the attacked websites are running WordPress, even though they still don’t know how the sites are being attacked is mostly due to plugins vulnerability.
Sucuri has named the campaign “Visitor Trackers” due to its JavaScript file name visitorTracker_isMob.
Still unsure how the hackers infest the websites Sucuri made public a security tool to identify if your site is indeed infected, and therefore, protect your audience.
