Unboxing and Review – The @Edifier_Global G4 Gaming Headphones. #Gaming #Edifier #Tech #Headphones

Edifier never fail to surprise me when it comes to audio and gaming headphones are a hard one to get right for an overall experience in my point of view you see I like to be able to just move from one thing to another be it my console or laptop if the quality is good on both aspects well let me tell this Edifier have got this one right end of story not only from a gaming perspective but listening to music or even watching youtube or netflix these headphones are simply unbelievable and at the price they come in at.

First off the build quality is good albeit plastic is the main material used but its good and will last and when it comes to comfort the headphones have over ear cups which isolate much of the outside world anyway but the soft cups are nice on the skin and the same applies to the soft leatherette headband.

There is no controls on the cups which is great but an inline box if you will that has it all in one place there is also some software you can download which might suit some and handy to have it available at hand should you need it.

The inline control is great and has a trick up its sleeve and I love it.. First we have the power on/off then the volume up/down, then a mute button on top but underneath that the magic red switch brings this headset to life and whatever you might be listening to as it activates the vibrate mode and if I dare say it adds some more bass on max volume.

Playing games on with this on really imersifies the experience and gives clear sound and great dynamic range its really good the same applies to both XBOX and PS4 with great accuracy for noise in all directions, Now being honest I am not much of a gamer but I played for a few hours and this simply enhances the overall experience and the mic is great for playing online or streaming this also applies to laptop gaming the experience is just enhanced and immersive.

Going off topic to what the headphones are designed for you are also in for a treat for listening to music or streaming from your laptop, it gets loud, just how I like it and the software up that volume to just how I like it so if you want loud you get loud much louder than I expected this is what I meant earlier by switching tasks from gaming consoles to laptop and also if you have a smartphone with USB OTG and you have an adapter the same applies here so you could use these as a one stop shop for your audio needs and look good doing it with the LED lights on either side which is a cool effect especially in a dark environment which by the way is not intrusive and just right it would be better if you had the ability to change the one colour you are given but it is what it is and not a dismissal of the product but some would like to be able to customise to a certain level.

Overall for the money you shell out on these which will vary by country you are talking approx 60-100 euro you can’t really go wrong, I have tested these both the gaming experience and music experience as some like to save on multiple pairs and like the option to see what is on offer and what is affordable and these are an easy recommendation for the money and up there with headsets double or more the price. Trust me I have tested enough to tell the difference between cheap and cheerful and overpriced junk and a good pair of headphones for you hard earned money and these are just that…

UNBOXING AND REVIEW

Review – The @Logitech Zone Wireless headphones with ANC and Qi charging. #Logitech #Headphones

When it comes to headphones, earphones and True Wireless I sport around 200 pairs combined in my collection but the minority is the office type which I will be expanding on in the coming months and the Logitech Zone Wireless are the latest to drop in and these give you a mix for personal and a work environment use which overall it gets it right as a whole for both use case scenarios.

Presentation is good and kept simple with all the details on the box and images on the underside for connection purposes and what is a real bonus here is you can connect two devices at once which for me is great for working on my laptop and my mobile phone with no hassles and the dongle provided for your laptop is super fast to connect with no worries at all..

UNBOXING THE ZONE WIRELESS

The Logitech offer several important features which many don’t for the office and that is ANC, Wireless connectivity with two device connectivity and an option of Wireless charging which is something you hardly see in a pair office headphones.

Comfort is great as they just sit nicely on the head not clamping it and the adjustments are easy by means sliding the cups up or down either side and they are really light and don’t sweat the ears after long periods of usage. The rubber band on the underside is comfortable too and sit nicely on the head and the band is on the thin side again an office trait but nice and look well.

Controls are also simple and easy to use all on one side too which is how I personally like it, You have the ANC,Power/On/Off Volume up/down play/pause/hang up/reject calls and you can also connect to your voice assistant of choice.. There is also two mics, one each side which is very useful, many headsets just have the one mic. The dual mics give super quality phone calls by the way which is one main function on the headset.

One feature lacking with the controls was the ability to skip tracks which is something to note and might be a problem for some if they want that complete headset but its a caveat I could live with anyway as you can use your phone or laptop to do the same. There is an app which is great to see and something all wireless headphone manufacturers should include going forward for EQ settings and more.

On the app which is on Android and iOS you have EQ settings which have Bass,Treble and MIds and Volume,Voice prompts settings which I suggest you leave on,sidetone setting which allows you hear your own voice which gives you a volume level of choice, this is an excellent feature, You have sleep settings, language settings and a tour option plus support so overall the app is great and helpful and gives you more control over music settings and it is easy to use I will show you this in the video review. The app is clean and has a simple UI with nice graphics and easy on the eyes and no complicated sub menus.

Overall you want to know what the sound is like.. My personal use case is a much the same as anyone who works in an office or at home or open plan space and my usual test run of music gave me good results although in some cases at max volume to sound did get a bit distorted but these are not overly loud headphones which I prefer but just loud enough to satisfy my ear, Mids, highs, lows and Bass where good and the fact you have bass here is great for an office aimed product. Overall music was good and balanced and as I said calls great and crystal clear and the ANC option really gives you your own space without getting distracted by others conversation.. For those using in a personal capacity with YouTube and Netflix for example there is no sync lag.

The benefits here with this headset is great as a whole, You have ANC, Wireless charging, Connect to two devices, Lightweight and comfortable, The only thing for me that might make people look again but they are only small things to note is the colour availability small caveat to a great product overall..

Review – The Yale All in one Outdoor camera. #YALE #SmartLiving #Security #CCTV

I have tried and test countless home security cameras now and Yale is the newest one to drop in and Yale is a company people who would be more familiar with locks but now have entered the smart arena with their smart living range which is welcome..

The camera itself is easy to instal which is vital today especially with regulations we have here and requires no professional at all all you need is a drill and the screws required then you mount the plate and you are good to go.

Let’s check out the contents first should you have missed it.

The features on the camera are great which I will list below as we are now doing a more hands on approach with our tech reviews. One thing I think is an excellent bonus here is the built in spotlight which is a great deterrent today for invaders on your property this is one of the first things that will make them think twice about going any further and should be a standard in the smart security industry..

Features

In App Control – Set up and control your All-in-One camera via the Yale View app. We go through the app in detail in the video review..

1 / 14

Built-in Spotlight – Turn the security light on, off or activate on motion detect only, and adjust the brightness to suit your individual needs. This is an excellent feature and adjustable to your requirements as you will see explained.

Two-way Talk – With two way talk you can communicate with callers, advising the postman to leave your package with a neighbour, or let friends know to ‘come round the back’ when you are in the garden. A must have in any security system today. Again tested minus the feedback issues you get when testing this out,but this works perfectly fine.

No Monthly Fees – Access live feed, intercom, siren and light features straight from the box with no monthly fees. A win win for consumers NO FEE.

Siren Alarm – The in-built siren is ideal for getting rid of unwanted visitors and suspicious characters and can be activated within the Yale View app putting you in full control. it is loud enough to deter an intruder to your property it front or rear..

Motion Detect Alerts – With motion detect alerts you will always be in the know when someone has called at your door. Add an SD card to your camera to capture motion detect events or link to a Yale Smart CCTV DVR for constant back up recording of all activity at your door.

Image Masking – Ensure you only get alerted when a visitor enters a specific area in front of your camera.

Weatherproof – Mount the IP65 rated camera outdoors using the integrated wall bracket, or use indoors as a freestanding IP camera. Features 10m night vision for clear images both day and night.

OSSM Cloud Solutions boosts Walsh Graphics revenues by 15%. #IrishBiz #Cloud #WalshGraphics

OSSM Cloud Solutions, the cloud ERP software provider, today announces that it has implemented an Oracle NetSuite ERP solution for Walsh Graphics. The deal, valued at €85,000, will simplify Walsh Graphics’ sales, stock, accounts and ecommerce processes, enabling the company to realise its future growth plan and boosting revenues by 15% in the first year.

Located in Little Island, Cork, and with showrooms in Dublin, Walsh Graphics is the leading supplier of digital and signage materials in Ireland. Having been in business for 25 years, the family-run company has evolved from a start-up based in the family’s garage to a €5 million company.

Walsh Graphics plans to grow the business by 20% year on year over the coming 3 years. However, the organisation’s outdated and cumbersome sales, stock, and accounts systems were negatively impacting staff productivity and efficiency levels.

For example, the sales teams’ lack of visibility of sales history and stock information created a significant volume of unnecessary and time-consuming phone and email communications with the office-based administration staff.  With the opening of Walsh Graphic’s Dublin office, the requirement for a system that serves two locations and enables a growing sales team to work remotely became vital.

OSSM Cloud Solutions was selected to implement the Oracle NetSuite ERP solution which integrates all sales orders, stock management and accounts data into one cloud-based system. The new solution provides both the office-based administration and the remote sales teams with real-time sales and stock information.

Since the solution was implemented, the time the sales team spends on administration and liaising with the office-based team has been reduced by 50%. As a result of the streamlined sales process and freedom of the office-based team to focus on growing the business, there has been a 15% increase in sales and Walsh Graphics forecasts a 7% increase in gross profit in the next financial quarter.

Michael Walsh, founder and managing director, said: “OSSM Cloud’s solution is providing our sales team with real-time access to customer orders, stock levels and a platform to manage their pipeline, allowing them to be proactive instead of reactive. These capabilities are enabling us to focus on scaling the business and achieving our growth plans.

“We are continuing to work with the OSSM Cloud team to mould the solution to our needs and to eke out further operating efficiencies. Our website is hugely important to our overall sales and the capability to include customer relationship management and marketing elements was a key factor in our decision to choose the NetSuite solution. It is reassuring for the whole team to know we have an easy-to-use system in place that can scale to our needs and future proof our business.”

Ray Ryan, CEO, OSSM Cloud Solutions, said: “Operating out of two separate locations and with a third of employees working remotely means that Walsh Graphics needed a centralised system to manage their business. A cloud platform that could digitally transform the business and also scale as the company grows was the obvious choice for them. We are delighted to see the results that they have already experienced in a short space of time and we’re excited about helping them leverage further capabilities of NetSuite ERP to achieve continued growth and success.”

Stay cool this summer with this smart fan. #AirGo #StartUp #Tech #SmartFan

Start-up launches the UK’s First Pedestal Smart Fan – Available online and on Amazon – RRP £109

London based start-up GeoSmartPro, a specialist in building smart home products that fit seamlessly into our homes, has launched its first product, the AirGo smart fan, just in time for the UK’s summer.

Now if like me many of us have a reliable old Lloytron fan or something similar and I have mine years so long in fact it turning yellow, but it can be a lifesaver but it needs replacing and what a better time to replace it with a smart fan and once again you can just sit back relax and control from your mobile phone which really tops this off for me.

Available online now and on Amazon, the AirGo smart fan allows users to control their fans from anywhere via the free GeoSmartPro app.

The AirGo smart fan, the first of its kind, is packed full of features designed to help users cope with hot conditions. Users can set the fan to a schedule, certain temperatures and speeds at the touch of a button.

Features include:

  •  App Automation–allows users to automate the fan’s actions and triggers. For example, if the area you live in gets too hot the fan will automatically kick in. The fan uses WiFi to source and follow temperatures.
  • Schedule– allows users to set the fan to turn on and off at set times. So, if you want your bedroom cool before bed you can set the fan to come on an hour or so before bed. You can even start it while on your way home from work!
  • Timer – users can set it for up to eight hours, so it’ll last the whole night.
  • Mode – users can choose between 3 modes, one of which mimics nature’s air flow to ensure a controlled and calming breeze, giving you a feeling of sitting outdoors.
  • Speed–the fan can be set to low, medium or high fan speed depending on your preferences.
  • Noise reduction technology– AirGo is one of the quietest fans on the market and has been awarded with the Quiet Mark, meaning no more disturbed nights through fan sounds.

Chief Marketing Officer and Co-Founder, Sarah Pieters, said:“With many areas of the home becoming smarter and more efficient, we noticed that helping keep homes cool had been somewhat neglected.

“The fan has been in the home for decades but needed to be brought to the modern connected world. AirGo provides users with an enjoyable, yet practical experience during the summer months. Our team strives to build products that have a consumer focus and that aim to make lives easier.”

CEO, Uzair Rafi, said:“Our team worked endlessly to ensure that we delivered a great product to our customers in time for summer. The AirGo fan will enhance the user’s lifestyle and keep them cool in the warmer months. We are looking forward to what the future will bring for GeoSmartPro to help improve the connected home experience in the UK and worldwide.”

GeoSmartPro’s AirGo smart fan is also compatible with voice assistants Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.

The AirGo Smart Fan is available for £109 from Amazon.co.uk and https://www.geosmartpro.com/airgo.

Review – Simplisafe home security system. #Simplisafe #Security #Tech

I have multiple security setups here, probably too many but this system is a one stop shop for your needs which can be built upon with more products as you go, In fairness many systems are the same but any I have tried all missed one important thing which is exit/entry point sensors alongside the camera. Also this has probably the best base station I have used as it is full of life with audio cues and it even lights up and the system as a whole is so easy to set up and requires NO DRILLING as they are all set with adhesive pads which is great and does not require an expensive installation bill from a professional.

Disclaimer… The monitoring service does not work here in Ireland yet not will it in the near future as we got in touch with them upon setup and they responded which also put their support team to the test and they were quick to help out . So my review is based on the system itself and how it worked without the service plan.

Setting up is simple but I would plan out out where you are going to place the equipment then it will take you no longer than ten minutes to have it up and running it is that easy,OK it might be easier for me as I am custom to setting up the likes on a regular basis but it really simple.

The package we tested can be seen below.

The control panel is easy to use yet a bit on the big side but it can be either fixed to the wall with its included bracket, again adhesive backed and the controller can be taken anywhere in the house for your convenience. I would go through the settings first before moving on you can see this in the video below.

Set up your camera next which again is an easy process like most these days, the app is quite good here and helpful too should you get lost on the way, then I would add my entry/exit sensors to the system, again seen in video then add your motion sensor and you are good to go,once all this is set up you can name the points on the system and check they are all operational via the control panel or by simply doing a system test once all this is done you are good to go.

You can add other products to this if you like and this one was almost complete for me as one camera is not enough i would rather one system complete than several running at once which is what I have now and its taxing to say the least but my house is secure but the simplicity behind this product is what sells it for me especially with the installation process. Check out the video below for more and you should check it out too but keep in mind you need to check the availability of monitoring asides that I think this is a great product.

Ready-made kits range from The Starter – designed for small homes and flats at £279 – to the larger Windsor and Bamburgh kits (£454 – £504). Custom systems can also be created to fit more unique homes using the Build My System tool. SimpliSafe’s Pro Premium interactive monitoring plan is £19.99 per month, whilst the Pro level plan, which solely provides 24/7 monitoring services, costs £12.99 per month. EXCEPT ROI….

New Bank of Ireland SMS scam seems rampant. #Scams @bankofireland

Recently there was a scam which involved AIB,GMAIL and Primark and over the weekend one has been doing the rounds via sms or what is known as Smishing/Phishing where you will get a link and be directed another to a site similar to the official site the scammer tries to portray. This is purely an attempt to steal your information and that is it. As usual just ignore ,delete and block then report to your bank.

I got the sms this morning and several people have contacted me with the same yesterday so pass it on to your family and friends. You have been warned. Back in Feb this year a similar scam was doing the rounds where people where getting calls and emails to this time however it seems to be just the sms for now anyway.

Numbers to look out for are 086-1801444 – 086-1801445 – 0861801466

Banks will never send sms requesting the above.

Is it over for Instagram influencers? #Instagram #Influencers

According to Influencer Marketing Hub, 86% of marketers intend to dedicate a portion of their budget to influencer marketing this year.

On the 17th of July, the industry was caught by surprise with the announcement that Instagram will start hiding the Likes public counter in an international test to remove pressure on users seeking Likes.  The stated goal is to support better mental health amongst users.

Influencers and agencies see this as a threat to future growth but Connector, an Irish Open Innovation Studio, believes that it is only a start for better measurement. Twitter and Instagram have a very funny verification process and non transparent and will not tell us how but you have genuine people that are known household names and then you have unknowns verified and many knowns NOT verified, However if like me and many others the term itself is bandied around too much and people are labelled as influencers and the metrics do not add up and perhaps this is a good thing to clamp down on the term and the SELF APPOINTED

“Likes were always a false metric, from people buying fake engagements to research showing no correlation between Likes and sales.  We believe this is a positive development to lead marketers to look beyond vanity metrics and measure influencers strategically” says Ivan Adriel, Head of Digital at Connector.

In their latest infographic, Connector explores the best practices to find and measure influencer efforts looking beyond the Likes.

Review – The @Ergotron WorkFit-T, Sit-Stand Desktop Workstation. #Tech #Office #Home

If you are working from home or indeed your office most of us tend to sit down all the time and for me especially of late it is a bit cumbersome as I am based at home more so than before, One thing I have noticed though when out at meetings there is a huge increase in what we call standstations here in many office environments and they are a great idea for active for and indeed non active people who sometimes are stood up at their normal dest bend over typing away, I am guilty of that situation but now I can sit or stand at my own leisure with this Desk convertor which comes set up out of the box and it is a godsend.. It will save your back in the long run.

I tend to be working from two laptops or two areas in my new house but will be building an office outside soon where this will lay permanent taking the work and blogging out of the house for good as it is best to keep them apart for many reasons, peace and quiet being one and space is another.

The ease of use in this product is what sells it for me, there is no setup it is ready to go out of the box and requires lifting a handle either side to adjust to your specific height or you can leave it down if you require to do so,some setups I have seen have much more effort to put in and requires adjustments in several places where this is one movement and it is at ease with no noise or interruption to your setup. This is a win..

The unit is in one piece and is heavy so you will need to take that into mind and get your measurements right, this arrived on a small pallet and is heavy so you may need assistance to place it where you plan to finally leave it but once it is down it is going nowhere and has rubber feet each corner to stop it from moving along with its weight.

I also got a mat to enhance the comfort level when standing and this really helps too especially if you are barefooted or in socks for example, even in trainers/shoes it adds to the comfort level when using the desk.

The is a cut out at the rear to let cables fall down behind and there is holes in the middle to drop any other cables you might have to tidy away or if you have a tower stand it can be attached via the holes in the centre,On the front there is a decent cut out too and is comfortable to work on despite the material used and this again makes life easy as you can still rest your arms as normal but be more connected with your equipment at the same time.

Build quality is top notch here and I cant see why this would not last a lifetime unless you had an accident or dropped it when moving I still cant see it breaking this is built to last and it is also built to make life better, give you a choice to sit or stand and not interrupt anything in the process.

Check out ergetron for more and see their full range and tell us if you have one or intend to get one..
