An Irish cyber security start-up has launched its latest offering to the tech industry, which includes a suite of new features which, they say, have the potential to change how companies all over the world respond to cyber-attacks.
Tines is a Security Orchestration Automation and Response (SOAR) platform, that allows information security teams to automate repetitive, manual workloads, making them more effective and more efficient. The Irish software creators say that key to differentiating themselves from marketplace competitors is that their platform allows users with no coding or development experience to automate even the most complex tasks regardless of technology integration.
Speaking of the launch Eoin Hinchy Founder of Tines,
“Although we are only just over a year in the business, the response from security teams worldwide has been strong and we now have huge organisations on our list of customers and the demand for what we have to offer continues to grow as more and more people learn of Tines.
Our latest product release includes many features which were developed on feedback from our early customers telling us what they need but what is currently unavailable on the market, such as improved searching and automation templates for nearly 1,000 security actions commonly performed by security teams.”
Since its launch in early 2018, Tines has already amassed a significant bank of global clients, including Bank of Ireland, McKesson Inc. and DocuSign. Common use-cases for the Tines platform include automating responses to phishing attacks, remediating compromised assets infected with malware, and ensuring that threat alerts are verified before they land on a security analyst’s plate.
Tines say that because it is predicted that there will be 3.5 million unfilled cyber security jobs worldwide by 2021[1], companies are increasingly turning to automation to ensure security teams are working as efficiently and effectively as possible.
Duncan Godfrey, Senior Director of security at Auth0 commented on their experience with the Irish start-up,
“As a company undergoing significant growth, we need to scale our threat detection and response through automation. Human security resources are finite and valuable, so having them working on the right things is critical. We use Tines to consume alerts from both the commercial and bespoke technologies in our detection stack. This allows us to quickly enrich every alert with missing context, auto-close false positives, deduplicate based on Indicators of Compromise and automate response.”
Mr. Hinchy said that Tines customers are “some of the most attacked companies in the world, including: Fortune 10’s, global banks and public and private SaaS companies. What attracts them to us is the fact that our platform allows security analysts with no development or engineering background automate almost any workflow regardless of complexity or technology integration”.
Global spending on cybersecurity products and services is expected to exceed $1 trillion cumulatively over the five-year period from 2017 to 2021.
Tines has set the wheels in motion for its business to leverage off this forecast and it expects to grow considerably over the next 18 months, with plans to double its workforce by the end of 2019.
Today Google announces that it has fully integrated real-time information from DublinBikes stations into Google Maps, making it easier for the public to not only find DublinBikes stations around the city, but also to know at a tap of the screen how many bikes are available and how many spaces are vacant at each station, all without leaving the Google Maps app. At present the function covers DublinBikes only.
The function is now available on the Google Maps app on Android and iOS.
Bikesharing is booming as this two-wheeled technology transforms how people get from A to B in cities around the planet. With an estimated 1,600 bikeshare systems and more than 18 million shared bikes in urban centers worldwide, bikesharing has gone mainstream. And for good reason–it’s a convenient, affordable, fun and hassle-free way to get around.
For the past year, travellers and commuters in New York City have been using Google Maps to both locate bikesharing stations and see exactly how many bikes are available at a station in real-time. Today, Google is rolling out this feature to a total of 24 cities in 16 countries.
From New Taipei City to Toronto, you can now use Google Maps to locate bikeshare stations and pinpoint how many bikes are available near you. You can also find out whether there’s an empty space at a station near your destination for you to leave your bike. This is all made possible by incorporating a new global bike share data feed directly into Google Maps, thanks to a partnership with Ito World.
Whether you’re travelling in a new city or planning your daily commute, Google Maps is making it easier to weigh all your transportation options with real-time information. Just like how we show you when buses and trains are coming and going in Google Maps, you’ll now know which bikeshare stations have a bike ready for you.
This bird’s eye view into bikesharing is now available in Google Maps on Android and iOS in the following cities globally with more on the way:
Barcelona, Berlin, Brussels, Budapest, Chicago, Dublin, Hamburg, Helsinki, Kaohsiung, London, Los Angeles, Lyon, Madrid, Mexico City, Montreal, New Taipei City, New York City, Rio de Janeiro, San Francisco Bay Area, São Paulo, Toronto, Vienna, Warsaw, Zurich

With holidays and festivals still on the horizon, it’s time to start thinking about our Midsummer wardrobes. After weeks of wearing your favorite Summer staples, it’s easy to fall into a style slump. Luckily, Speck has the perfect accessory to inject some life into your wardrobe. Make sure you keep your phone stylish and safe this Summer with Presidio Inked.
Speck understand that outfits are of top importance when heading to a festival or on a city break. The right accessories can re-vamp any look – giving them a new lease of life – and a phone case is no exception! Available in a selection of eye-catching and vibrant designs, Presidio Inked is more than just a protective case.
Marble, acid-wash prints like Lilac Ice imitate swirls of soft-serve gelato – a nostalgic yet stylish statement piece, perfect for a Summertime city break or seaside getaway. Tropical, multicolor prints like Sun Dyed Leaves are peak festival chic, standing boldly in line with this season’s neon trend.
Unlike other printed cases, Presidio Ink’s prints are crafted with a 7-step dye sublimation process, meaning that the patterns are permanently embedded into the case’s shell and won’t fade away. An added protective coating protects the case from fading and yellowing, which will keep the case looking Summertime fine, all Summer long.
In addition to adding some flare to your Summer looks, Presidio Inked will keep your phone safe from drops of up to 3 meters. Speck’s products are lab-tested for real-life situations, so your mind can be at ease when dancing front row at your favorite artist’s show.
Presidio Inked’s dual-layer design features ridges of IMPACTIUM™ material, which absorb and disperse shock for added protection. Its unique design still allows for Qi wireless charging, making it an all-round must-have this Summer.
Cololight is a smartlight done right which is modular and consists of tiles leaving you to decide what you want to build and its executed very well. This you can build upon and create your own designs and after that you can customize to your heart’s content with the app.
Set up is simple and overall so is the rest, One thing I would advise is to have your location settings on when setting up this at first. After that the rest is simple and we will go through the app and what is on offer in the video review.
What I like about this as whole is the fact it is modular given we have seen tech in the past fail on a modular approach this has not and it can be used in many instances at home or the office and replace existing boring lamps we might have or have it in your set up at home in your games room or just your bedside locked, this however limits its full potential if you want to go big and you can go big with this by adding modules over time and for me I would like a wall full of them as they advertised in their own video as it would suit my scene here at home.
The app is simple enough to use too and shines with customization which is important and overall its the visual aspect here that needs to be seen first hand and what you can achieve and what you can potentially do when you build on from the starter pack and additional blocks will set you back around 12 euro which is not bad but some will find it expensive considering you are tied to an extent with an existing build in one set area but like I said you can be creative, You could also build more than one setting here but the outlay remains the same at first. I would like for example several areas in the house to have these and replace all existing lamps as they can set a tone and look good doing it too.
Fitness clothing has never been more important; with ever advancing technologies coming in to play, it’s a way for athletes to enhance their performance, accelerate recovery and capture a competitive advantage without any extra effort or training. When I post this on social media people asked how can a piece of clothing contain technology and I will be honest I was a bit lost myself but have heard of it before and while I have you here now there has been other companies in touch with us with tech in instances you would never think of and one of them involves health food so stay tuned. So back to the clothing in question. Compression garments have been used by athletes to help them reach their PB’s for years but surprisingly there is still a lot of scepticism around many of their claims. Below we dive into compression garments, the effects on the body, and a new technology taking the sporting world by storm.
What are Compression Garments Compression garments come in the form of full-length tights, partial and full-length tops, knee-length stockings and even full body suits. They are typically worn by runners, cyclists, weightlifters, and other active individuals. Sports compression garments are designed to provide external compression to the body, often increasing in pressure towards the extremity of the limb – this is known as graduated compression and has been said to improve performance and recovery, but not yet scientifically proven.
How Can Compression Garments Help? Many of the benefits associated with compression relate to improvement in blood flow, including both the delivery of blood to the exercising muscle and the return of the blood back to the heart. As a result, compression is thought to improve the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the muscle to improve performance, as well as aid in the removal of waste products after exercise. However, it is still scientifically questioned if compression wear does actually increase venous return, reduce delayed onset of muscle soreness and accelerate recovery, some of the primary reason’s athletes use compression gear. In fact, two studies published by Indiana University found no impact on running performance when professional distance runners wore lower-leg compression sleeves and no effect on jumping ability when 25 men wore upper-leg compression garments in three different sizes.
What are Infrared Garments? Infrared garments are designed to enhance performance and accelerate recovery through the use of infrared technology. The fabrics capture the body’s wasted energy and convert it to a specific wavelength Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) that has proven effects on the body. FIR increases the production of nitric oxide which, in combination with increased blood circulation, is responsible for a variety of positive effects. The process looks something like this:
How can Infrared Garments help?
Improved Performance: The increased levels of tissue oxygenation combined with an increase in blood circulation allows for more oxygen, nutrients, and glucose to be delivered, converted and absorbed into cells. FIR also hastens the removal and breakdown of lactic acid, delaying muscle fatigue and increasing muscle performance during exercise.
Accelerated Recovery: The increased blood oxygenation and circulation caused by FIR helps with the removal and breakdown of lactic acid and increases the rate in which waste products are removed from cells. The increased circulation also aids in replenishing muscle glycogen levels, reducing inflammation and speeding up the recovery process. All of these effects result in a faster replenishment of energy during and after exercise and increase the rates of cellular repair and replication.
Thermoregulation: FIR technology embedded into fabrics allow for:
Temperature regulation
Quick drying
Increased circulation
The increase in circulation created by FIR also aids the body’s thermoregulatory system so that it does not become too hot. The fabrics also help cool the body in hotter climates as they are 63-65% quicker drying than standard fabrics. FIR accelerates the rate of evaporation and dissipates heat into the surroundings keeping the body cool.
Increased Circulation: Far Infrared Radiation (FIR) increases vasodilation of blood vessels by increasing the disassociating nitric oxide. Vasodilation expands the blood vessels causing the flow of blood to increase which in turn allows for a variety of positive effects on body tissue, including increased glycogen levels, faster removal of lactic acid, and better thermoregulatory ability.
Increased tissue oxygen levels by 20%: FIR increases the oxygen levels as well as nutrient levels in the blood making them more readily available to cells when needed. Blood circulation is also increased which speeds up the delivery of blood to the muscles. It also hastens the breakdown of lactic acid and the rate at which waste products are removed. This delays the onset of fatigue and increases muscle performance during exercise.
Increased Cellular Metabolism and Energy Production: The increased circulation and oxygenation levels of the blood results in a faster replenishment of energy both during and after exercise as well as increasing cellular repair and replication. FIR causes nitric oxide to dissociate from the active site of cytochrome-C oxidase, a protein on your mitochondria which plays a large part in the energy production process within cells. The metabolic processes within cells occur quicker because the active site is free, allowing for increased ATP production. ATP is the source of energy for all physiological processes and due to the increase in its production cells will grow, repair, and replicate faster.
Pail Relief: FIR causes a release of nitric oxide that subsequently activates cyclic guanine monophosphate (cGMP) which mediates pain reduction. FIR therefore stimulates the biological pain relief mechanisms of the body without the need for drugs. Users of KYMIRA Sport products report reductions in DOMS and other exercise related pains. Relief of pain from chronic conditions such as old injuries is also seen and can improve performance.
Conclusion There is overwhelming evidence to prove that FIR directly supports Performance, Recovery, Thermoregulation, Increased Circulation, Increased tissue oxygen levels, Increased Cellular Metabolism and Energy production and Pain Relief.
Comparatively, Compression wear is clouded with scepticism and has no real evidence to support claims of accelerated recovery, reduced onset of muscle soreness and increased venous return.
The IR50 Short Sleeve Top which I have been trying incorporates their unique infrared technology, something that promotes blood circulation, increases oxygenation of the blood, and promotes cellular metabolism. This increased rate of removal of lactic acid from your muscles, and improved rate of cellular repair and production, reduces the impact of Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness and other associated aches that you may experience after pushing your body to the limit.
Now I am not expert when it comes to clothes apart from spotting genuine from fakes but having tried this for a few weeks I did feel much better as I am on a training routine with tech goods from WITHINGS and I am seeing the benefits by losing weight continuously over the last few months and it has become habit now to train more and think more and when you have the right goods behind you it also helps a great deal and clothes like this should be looked at rather than brushed at..
With extra durable fabric and stitching and triple stitched hems, the top is a workhorse that will last you season after season, through wash after wash, and all the rough and tumble your kitbag can throw at it. And thanks to the raglan seams and flatlock stitching, the top allows you to recover in absolute comfort. The fabric is breathable and quick drying, and so the top is great if worn immediately after a workout to cool you down whilst you wait to get to the showers.

Auslogics has just released a brand-new version 11 of the company’s most popular PC optimization program and introduced a number of innovative features users will appreciate.
July 10th 2019 – Auslogics Software, Australian publisher of computer maintenance, security and productivity products, has just released a new major version of its flagship PC optimizer, BoostSpeed. The software has received a complete overhaul and now comes with a free version and expanded functionality.
Among the innovative features introduced in the new release is the Ask a Question option that lets users get their toughest PC or software-related questions answered by a live expert. Users facing difficulties with getting their computers to perform better, with their devices not working properly or any other type of technology issue can use the Customer Care tab in BoostSpeed to submit their question to an online forum, where an Auslogics expert and other users will be able to answer it. Questions and answers remain online and can be browsed and searched as a source of effective solutions to many types of PC problems.
Another new feature implemented in BoostSpeed 11 is a special mode that protects computers from pet-caused disasters. The new Cat Mode, when enabled, locks the keyboard and mouse when a PC is idle, so that there is no risk of cat paws causing any damage as the cat walks across the desk. The user has total control over the feature, can set up the unlock code and decide when the mode should get activated.
While helpful to pet owners, BoostSpeed 11 comes with a number of other useful features that have been implemented based on extensive analysis of user feedback. This includes the new Deep Disk Cleaner, Force Uninstall for unwanted software, new privacy and security features, real-time PC boosting functionality and over 20 tools to cover most PC user needs.
The completely redesigned interface makes BoostSpeed 11 as easy to navigate as a web browser, with tabs the user can switch between and program features displayed in the order they are recommended to be applied in. PC users of any experience level receive enough guidance to be able to easily clean their computers, remove privacy traces, tweak system settings and fix slowdown causes. The software offers extensive options for setting up automatic maintenance and optimization, and provides tools to shred sensitive files, secure personal data, sort through large files to clear disk space, boost Internet connection speed and perform over a dozen other tasks.
“In this new version, we have taken customer favourite features from previous BoostSpeed editions and added in a number of truly innovative tools and options,” says Anna Lind, Auslogics PR representative. “The result is a software toolkit that combines great usability with maximum effectiveness.”
One of the things users will appreciate most about the new release is that BoostSpeed now comes with a free version that doesn’t have any time limitations. It allows running essential Windows cleanup and optimization as many times as needed, without requiring an activation key. I have tried many home security cameras now and they have been at the higher end but like that the cost to performance ratio is coming down with lots of tech today and when you see a product priced so cheap you do ask yourself is it really that good with what it says on the tin??
OK this is where I see it, I started seeing dashcams and again I have reviewed countless models again mostly mid to high end ones but you do see them in garages at 10 – 20 euro and they are complete shite you get what you pay for and when I see tech today flouting high specs at low prices I wonder, ( Stay tuned for tech at cheap prices flouting high specs as I have a section on it coming soon) are such goods any good, when it comes to dashcams in this category they are trash. This is not the case with this camera it does have some faults but minor and nothing to be concerned about with 20 quid.
The camera comes with an App on Android and iOS which is great and it is easy to use and follow although missing some features compared to higher end smart cameras but you will not miss them if you have not use such before and want this for peace of mind or just casual use around the home of wherever you might want to play it,it’s not for outdoors but can be pointed out the window if needs be,it is not waterproof either so don’t try using it outdoors.
I go through the app UI in detail below as I do with all apps on tech products so you can watch all that there, but you have the basics all on one pane which is great from liveview, snapshot, record, download and speak and it also has an auto arm option which is great. The build quality is quite good too and its easy of use and set up is a good thing, You are restricted to an extent as to where you place it as it needs a wired connection but if your house has plenty of sockets like mine you are good to go,the rest of my set up at home is wireless cameras which give you more flexibility and they are also waterproof, again a better option for flexibility and placement but you will pay good money for the likes but its worth it.
DAY AND NIGHT STILLS GAMING ROOM
You can use local storage via sd card and also opt to use cloud but you can download clips to your phone too which is handy to save storage and you can also use google home or amazon alexa too which for some is handy I will be adding this to my set up as I have just moved house and have lots to integrate into both. The other great feature I like best is the Auto Arm which is when you leave home it will arm itself but this requires you to have location on which is a touchy subject for some but this is great and something I have not seen on many more expensive models. This camera even offers two way audio which is not the best in the world but you can hear it clear enough.
Looking for a job in IT or Tech click the image below..
For the money you spend on this camera you could have several of them in your house for peanuts once you have the sockets as mentioned above and have your whole house covered with three or four units for under a 100 quid. Is it worth the money, an easy yes… I hope they come out with version 2 soon.
