Dark Humoured Survival-Sim Hell Architect launches on PC via Steam Today

Welcome to Hell. It’s hot, noisy and it’s looking a little run down. It’s time for a makeover and YOU are the best person for the job! It’s time to unleash your creative side as the highly anticipated, dark humoured and gore filled survival sim Hell Architect launches today for PC via Steam and GOG.com for £19.49 / €22.99 / $24.99 with a day one 15% discount.

Published by Leonardo Interactive and developed by Woodland Games,  Hell Architect puts you in the role of, you guessed it, an architect of Hell. Your task here is to craft new prisons for the lost souls and sinners who have found themselves ‘downstairs’. Just like all good (or bad) big corporations, Hell is a tightly run ship and under the watchful eye of Lilith from the HR department, you must devise the most creative ways to squeeze as much suffering as you can out of the sinners who will be spending eternity in this hot spot. That’s not all. To climb down the corporate ladder, you must gain the approval of the greatest and most feared devils in Hell, including the head honcho, Lucifer himself, as they evaluate your hard work as well as your sense of aesthetics and thriftiness!

You will have a host of options available to start crafting your own Hell. All the lost souls who arrive through the gates have their own abilities and traits so put them to work harvesting resources and doing the grunt work while you concentrate on researching buildings to make sure their stay in Hell is as ‘comfortable’ as possible. From toilets and canteens to shrines and demonic conference rooms, your Hell must be ready to accept more lost souls and demon VIPs who will continue to drop into your domain, all requiring your attention in many different ways. Remember, the more souls that arrive, the more demands placed upon your resources, so make sure to manage your workers and continue to expand your empire to impress the boss. And don’t forget, if any of your workers step out of line you have the tools at your disposal to whip them back into shape. Literally.

Features of Hell Architect:

  • Create the Hell of your dreams: Flex your creative muscles to design, build and furnish 9 infamous levels of Hell in the single player campaign mode, or spend a hellish eternity designing your own chaotic masterpiece from scratch in sandbox mode.
  • If you build it, they will suffer!: Begin with basic buildings like power stations (yup they need those in Hell too!) and canteens for your hungry workers and expand your empire to include shrines and intricate torture contraptions to increase the level of suffering for your weary residents.
  • Management is key: Harvesting resources, building an infrastructure and expanding your Hell will be key in your success. A constant stream of new lost souls will provide more hands to use, but will require managing to keep them working.
  • Crack the whip: Treat the sinners sent to your humble abode to different fun (or not so fun) sources of suffering, be it punishing them for disobedience or just for fun. Your Hell, your choices.
  • Hell never looked so good: The stylish 2D art style perfectly blends with the brutal, gorey themes and is topped off with outstanding dark humour.
  • Guest appearances: Play as Legendary Characters, a motley crew of history’s most despicable sinners who drop into your domain, each possessing special abilities to help build your devilish masterpiece.

Developed by Woodland Games and published by Leonardo Interactive, Hell Architect is out today for PC via Steam and GOG.com

Cleanfeed Introduces Compatibility for Safari as the First Platform Available on any Mainstream Browser

London, United Kingdom – Cleanfeed, a collaboration tool for high definition, live audio, and recording, in your browser are pleased to announce compatibility for Safari. Following a recent announcement on Firefox, the update comes in an effort for Cleanfeed to expand support for multiple, mainstream web browsers. As with Firefox, Chrome and Edge, Cleanfeed guests will now be able to join their session with high definition, live audio, using Safari on macOS.

The development will see that content creators have a smooth experience when inviting a guest to a Cleanfeed session such as a podcaster’s guest, a journalist’s interviewee, or a broadcaster’s collaborator. With just one click, the guest can now join with live, high-definition audio, on their default browser, or browser of their choice.

Marc Bakos, Cleanfeed Co-founder, comments: “Safari is a major leap forward for us, the final hurdle in fact. It’s the default browser on macOS and it means guests don’t have to go out of their way to download a different browser in order to join a Cleanfeed session any longer. From today we’re enabling studios to connect with their guests that use Safari, getting straight to the content, spending less time setting up. Bringing Cleanfeed for guests, to all mainstream browsers, completes our commitment to becoming a browser agnostic web application.”

A truly open web relies on different browser environments, not just browsers based on Chromium. Safari, which represents around 18.5% of the world’s share of browsers, has always remained incredibly important to Cleanfeed for this very reason. Not only has it ensured that Cleanfeed is now available on the default browser on both Windows and macOS, but it means we can be reassured by the positive direction that all three major browser engines are heading, especially with the technology involved with bringing applications like Cleanfeed alive.

Safari, which is powered by the Webkit web browser engine, has recently introduced the necessary web audio components for Cleanfeed to run. This means from today, guests will have the same experience joining a Cleanfeed session from Safari, as others do from other supported browsers.

Mark Hills, Cleanfeed Co-founder concludes: “For a long time it’s been possible to use the open source “Chromium” browser with Cleanfeed and, in fact, we use that for a lot of our development. This may satisfy the open-source enthusiasts, but only goes some way towards the solution. A standard is only truly a standard when there are multiple, independent implementations of it. We depend highly on web audio standards, both of which are strengthened by the existence of Safari, and significant contributions of the Safari developers to the overall community that we’re a part of.”

Bosch Group establishes R&D centre for automotive electronics in Ireland. #Bosch #Jobs

Bosch, the global supplier of technology and services, has announced the establishment of an Automotive Research and Development Centre in Limerick, creating 30 jobs over the next two years. Focus of the activities in Limerick will be on semiconductor products as well as automotive electronics.

The location in Ireland’s Mid-West has a rich history in the design and development of semiconductor products, going back almost 50 years. More recently the region is emerging as a hub for automotive software and system development. The establishment of Bosch’s Automotive R&D Centre in Limerick recognises the increased demand for semiconductors as cars evolve to become sustainable, safer and
more exciting.

Initial development at the facility will include integrated circuits (IC) for 77GHz radar sensors, which has applications for Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Collision Avoidance and Adaptive Cruise Control as well as radar technologies for automated driving.

Tánaiste and Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment, Leo Varadkar TD commented on the announcement: “I’m really pleased that Bosch is opening a new research and development centre in Limerick, creating 30 new highly-skilled jobs over the next two years. Ireland is recognised as a global hub for leading technology innovators like Bosch. This new automotive R&D centre will help them to benefit from our rich talent pool in the Mid-West. I wish the team the very best in this exciting new chapter.”

Dr. Oliver Wolst, Senior Vice President Development of Integrated Circuits, Bosch said: “We’re very excited about the possibilities that this new facility will provide to us. Bosch is a global leader when it comes to investment in research and development and this new facility in Ireland demonstrates our commitment to working with the best engineering talent to develop the most advanced technology for our customers.”

IDA Ireland Executive Director Mary Buckley said: “The decision by Bosch to establish its automotive R&D centre in Limerick further enhances the region’s reputation as an emerging hub for software and automotive systems. It is also a strong endorsement of the talent available in the Mid-West region, particularly in the areas of engineering and design. With this announcement Bosch will be well-equipped to meet the growing demand for semiconductors in automation and I wish the company success with their operations here in Ireland.”

Mike Keaveney, Bosch Radar Architect & R&D Centre Limerick Manager, said: “It’s very satisfying to see Bosch’s new R&D facility come online in Ireland. This is a great opportunity for the team whose background in integrated circuits, married with Bosch’s deep system level knowledge in automotive, can develop truly innovative and performance-optimised products to meet the needs of tomorrow’s cars. Working with the talented engineers here, and the teams across Europe that we are now part of, is particularly rewarding. Our next focus is on growing the local team. There’s a lot of talent in and around the region and we’re looking to hire more engineers with the skillsets needed to develop state of the art integrated circuit products.”

Recruitment and job opportunities

Over the next two years, Bosch will be hiring IC Design and Layout, Radio Frequency Measurement/Evaluation, Software and Firmware Engineers. To explore opportunities at Bosch’s new facility in Limerick, visit https://careers.smartrecruiters.com/BoschGroup/uk or click here:

Difficulty of web portal development

Web portal development is gaining popularity every day. The demand for user-friendly and high-quality interfaces is growing, and the requirements are increasing. There are many factors that determine the success of a developed web application.

It is very important to ensure the right interaction with customers. Product users may have a number of questions. They will be interested in cost and quality, as well as appearance and other aspects. To find out company details and necessary information, customers visit the website, mobile versions of the application and social networks.

What you need to know?

A developer can face many different challenges while working. There are five major tricky issues that can arise:

  1.     User interface and interaction with them. Due to the rapid development of the entire Internet industry, the requirements for web applications are increasing automatically. They assume a simplified interface. It must be clear to the client. At the same time, even the smallest elements can influence and completely change the overall impression. It is important that the application does not confuse users. It should streamline and facilitate the flow of information. A common mistake of developers is dismissive attitude in matters of site navigation. If the audience can find information intuitively, this will be a significant advantage in attracting users. It is important to always be customer-oriented. It can be concluded that the main task is to quickly and easily find the information you need. And when the navigation satisfies these requests, the user is satisfied.
  2.     Load balance between servers. The error is that the balancing is not observed. This leads to unwanted overload. It is necessary to monitor the increase in total traffic on the page, add additional servers to set the required balance. The software should be designed so that it can fully function on a server cluster. Service-oriented architecture can help improve scalability when adding different servers.
  3.     Presentation. Site speed is an important criterion for success. When your business is online, almost every second counts. For many people, nothing is more annoying than waiting. Therefore, slow-running services are doomed to fail in most cases. As a result, both income and reputation suffer. Therefore, before developing, it is worth thinking about presentation.
  4.     Knowledge of the platform and framework. Frameworks are a kind of impetus for development languages. They improve overall performance, expand capabilities, and offer various coding libraries. This allows creators to opt out of the process of manually entering application codes from scratch, making work much easier. It is very important to be aware of the basic and secondary needs of the company related to the creation of applications. When choosing a platform, it is necessary to take into account technical skills, all the specifics of training, cost, setup, analysis and other factors.
  5.     Security. This factor must be taken into account at all stages of development. The website must be fully coded to protect against various security issues.

Tech Review – Apple Magsafe Charger.

I have adopted wireless charging some time now and Apple here have been slow to bring us products and third party offerings have cashed in while we waited for Apple to drop us something themselves nd even with Magsafe totalled out at 15W it is still piss poor from the company that gives us less each year omitting something from their iPhone box for example and claiming it saves the environment but when you go to buy the missing item from the box should you need it, guess what it ships in yes you guessed it another box..

The design is simple a circular puck shape if you will and well built buy the looks and feel of it so it all aint that bad and the price is arguably fair compared to other wireless chargers out there too. One thing I wonder though is how long will it stay so clean being white after months of use time will tell I guess.

Simplicity here is the key to take away from the product as it just sticks to the back of the device even with a skin on and some case but thicker phone cases can be removed now if you plan on buying one..

Forté for iPhone makes good use of the magsafe charger by twelve south

15W is the best Apple can offer here which is akin to their plugs on older iPhones which is paltry compared to the competition out there today and a bit scabby in my book plus it does not work charging from pc/laptop and you need a mains plug to actually use the thing so the likes of charge banks and so on are out of the question if you are on the go, another piss poor move here.

It is faster than older chargers and that its it, the product looks nice and there is accessories out there to make us of it and it is only for the likes of people who have such and are not to bothered by slow charging speeds and I do like the ability that it snaps on nice and easy and seems to be fairly strong enough once it is not knocked hard out of place.

There is cheaper alternatives out there and shops that sell it cheaper than Apple which is funny but their build quality is not as good as Apple here but still worth a look and you can save yourself some money if you wish to pick one up..

Tech Review – Belkin Key Ring Holder for Apple Air Tag. #Belkin #AirTag #Apple

Quick and to the point with this one it is just a key ring holder after all and is one of the cheapest on the market for your AirTag but we have more to come and of course our Air Tag review and comparison to other offerings on the market such as Tile Chipolo and NotiOne. This is a simple solid holder for your Air Tag that comes in two pieces you simply just stick the tag in between the two bits of plastic, would have preferred a soft rubber material but it is what it is. Overall though it is solid it must be said.

This was purchased by ourselves on the Apple store and cost 13.95 which is cheap enough compared to other offerings out there and comes in several colours, it is secure and scratch resistant which will protect your tag from getting marked and for those who have theirs engraved it is a bonus how that holds up over time to being exposed to the elements and so on and moving around.. Check out the video for more below and we have a link to purchase below. Overall it is safe enough and will not fall off but there is always that possibility it can be removed like any trackers most people proudly show off..

Tech Review – Apple AirTag Bluetooth tracker. #AirTag #Apple

Bluetooth trackers have been around many years now and TILE being the most prominent in the market and well known and I use TILE myself and have reviewed all their products and they have been a staple for me for putting onto keys etc and then they added products to expand their use case such as stickers and thin cards like a credit card for your wallet.

Airtags have no GPS and work in a similar way to TILE with Bluetooth which has a community led environment and then uses the location services of your smartphone and find my network to communicate location information and with more iPhones on the planet than any other device this is how they have an advantage over TILE.

The set up process is rather simple and once done you can try it out at home by opening the find my app on this you then see a map of where the tag was last you can play a sound, find nearby and you have a notifications panel.. You can toggle on/off and you have a lost mode option which you can also enable and leave a number so you can be contacted once found. You can also rename the tag or remove it here too if you need to rest the device you can simply pop off the back and take out the battery and reinsert it 5 times and this can allow you to pass it on or just pair to another device.

This is ideal for those who own iphones more so but the question asked often is will these work with Android devices, if your Android device has NFC and you find one you can pick it up by just placing it at the back of your device this will then tell you if the device has been lost etc and you can disable it it is limited and in short the answer is no unless Apple perhaps want to drop the “find my” app in the play store so sorry Android users it is a no go for now..

Finally the battery life is around one year depending on ones usage and this is user replaceable with a battery you would find in you car key fob for example and the back just twists off and you will use the CR2032.

Overall great product for iPhone owners but the same still applies they can still be easily stolen as for any other tracking tag in similar format.
