Why Flutter is The Next Big Thing in Mobile App Development!

In order to maintain a strong digital presence, mobile app development has become a necessary thing for large corporations as well as SMEs. When it comes to creating mobile applications, iOS and Android are two of the most popular options.

Different kinds of code are required for each of these platforms in order to build applications for them. Clients and mobile app development firms faced a challenge when they realized they needed to create two separate apps for iOS and Android.

Cross-platform application software such as Flutter helps in making mobile apps that can run on a wide variety of systems while still being written in a single language. Flutter has been around in the market since 2017. It has gained popularity because of its features, such as quick and fast app development and upgrades on both iOS and Android platforms.

There are so many app development companies who believe that Flutter development is the next big thing. Let’s take a look at why you should choose Flutter to develop your business’s mobile app.

Why Flutter is The Future of Mobile App Development?

Here are the reasons why app development company prefers Flutter:

Rapid App Development

Since Flutter is cross-platform, it’s possible to use the exact same code for both Android and iOS. This eventually shortens the amount of time required to develop an app. This does not mean that you will require half of the time to develop the app, still, having one codebase for both platforms can help you focus on something else as well.

Updates to Android and iOS Apps Happen at the Same Time

When using a cross-platform development tool like Flutter, you can make apps for both platforms at the same time, so there’s no need to choose or focus on one platform at a time. Keep in mind that Apps for iOS and Android must also be reviewed before they can be made available to the general public.

Simple UI Design

Thanks to sharing the same code between platforms, only a single UI design is required. Cross-platform apps can take one of two approaches: either they completely reinvent the user experience by combining the greatest features of iOS and Android, or they adhere to the Material Design principles with only small tweaks for each platform using Flutter.

Easy Maintenance

Once the app is developed and ready to be released, you need to shift your focus to expanding the user base. In most cases, this means putting the program into “maintenance mode,” where fixing existing issues takes priority over adding new ones.

Normally, companies think about hiring employees when it comes to maintaining the app and fixing any bugs or issues. However, with Flutter, you don’t have to spend any extra amount by hiring other employees as the software is capable of taking care of your mobile app.

Tried and Tested Technology

The first stable version of Flutter was released on December 4, 2018, making it a relatively young technology in the world of mobile app development. However, it has already been tried and tested in the real world by companies like Google, eBay, Alibaba, BMW, Toyota, etc. So, you can trust Flutter while thinking about designing your mobile app for Android and iOS.

Instant Fuschia Support

With the help of Google’s newest operating system, Fuchsia, it is possible to create a production-ready operating system that doesn’t skimp on speed, stability, or security. Fuchsia is a framework that helps mobile app designers and developers create robust, cross-platform apps and user experiences.

The Flutter framework is a useful tool for developing on Fuchsia. If you’re developing a mobile app in Flutter, you can deploy it to Fuchsia on the very first day. As a result, you may see a rise in the number of people who download and use your app right away.

Stable Performance

The Flutter source code is compiled before a mobile app is made available to the public. Because of this, native components can be interacted with without resorting to the web view or the JavaScript engine. Flutter’s code is drawn on the system canvas. This adds even more efficiency to the application. The framework team is very pleased with the fact that they have been able to maintain a stable frame rate of 60 or 120 FPS on a wide variety of systems.

Bottom Lines

You will be amazed to know that some of the biggest names in business have already used Flutter to develop their apps. If you want to make something that can run on multiple platforms, you should consider using Flutter. Rapid deployment, concurrent app upgrades, sharing a single codebase across iOS and Android, and enhanced efficiency are just some of the many advantages. This may be one of the reasons for its ever-increasing fame as a cross-platform framework.

EV charging startup Monta secures €30m Series A+ for EU expansion

Monta, the only all-in-one EV charging management platform, today announced it has closed an additional EUR 30 million as part of a Series A+ round led by Energize Ventures, a leading global investment manager accelerating digital innovation for energy and sustainability, with participation from returning investors Creandum, Pale Blue Dot, byFounders, and Headline. The latest financing brings Monta’s total to EUR 50 million.

While 2021 European EV sales increased by more than 65% compared to 2020, the lack of EV charging infrastructure is still one of the biggest hurdles to mass adoption. Not only do nearly 3,000 new public charge points need to be built each week for Europe to reach its target of operating one million charge points by 2025, but the customer experience is often hampered by a highly fragmented ecosystem of charge point operators and owners.

Led by a team of seasoned entrepreneurs with experience managing large software development organizations, Monta is delivering an all-in-one EV charging platform that simplifies and streamlines deployment, use, and management of EV charging infrastructure. Via the Monta platform, charge point owners have full visibility into charge point use, pricing, access, and transactions. For EV drivers, Monta provides reservation, virtual queuing, and payment features under one platform as well as access to public charge points.

We are aiming to fully digitalize the EV ecosystem to tackle all the immediate challenges within the industry and build toward a more transparent and flexible future. By partnering with hardware OEMs we can deliver new features straight out of the box, like our new feature that allows operators to set a percentage on top of the spot price in order to follow the market fluctuations and automatically offer a fair price for charging, ” says Casper Rasmussen, Monta CEO. “The investment from Energize and our returning investors is a strong vote of confidence in our vision, team, and software as the cornerstone of the mobility infrastructure of the future.”

Monta’s EV charging management platform is used by notable utility, aviation, and transportation industry companies such as Vestas, CPH Airport, and PostNord as well as wholesalers, who are leveraging Monta to upskill installers. Since the company’s latest financing in January 2022, Monta has secured strategic partnerships with hardware manufacturers to launch its Powered by Monta (PBM) program in multiple markets. Key partners include Garo, CTEK, and ABB which each boast a range of charge points in Europe as well as Zaptec, which recently launched Zaptec Park, a co-branded app for its users.

“The market penetration of electric vehicles is climbing sharply as economic, regulatory, and climate levers accelerate EV adoption – and deployment of charging infrastructure has to keep pace. We expect more than 1.6 million public chargers and 20 million private charging stations to be deployed in the U.S. and Europe by 2025,” said Juan Muldoon, Partner at Energize Ventures. “As the market for charge point hardware grows and commodities, Monta offers a software solution that enables a consistent, improved charging experience for players throughout the EV charging value chain – from installers to drivers. We’re thrilled to partner with the Monta team as they pave the way for a more scalable and sustainable EV infrastructure.”

Monta will leverage the additional investment to open up new markets including North America, while consolidating its position in Scandinavia, the UK, and Germany, all of which have legislation in place slated to ban new ICE vehicle sales by 2025, 2030, and 2035 respectively. To further support the needs of the EU and the US – which has set a goal for 50% of its car sales to be EVs by 2030 – Monta will ramp up its product innovations and develop critical features to help EV drivers and charge point owners seamlessly navigate the industry.

Looking further ahead, Monta seeks to expand its product development to include grid management services amid challenges as more EVs hit the roads. Ultimately, the company expects to facilitate the sale of excess power back to the grid (V2G), manage interoperability with other zero carbon technologies (V2H, V2X), aid in the creation of local energy markets, and empower end users with ownership over their energy consumption.

The ability to take advantage of these new opportunities requires changes in information flows among grid devices as well as innovations in communication and coordination tools that increase the observability, predictability, and controllability of the grid. The societal impact and environmental potential of these technologies are massive. Monta is at the forefront of developing the systems needed to monitor and reward this flexibility to create an equitable energy solution for all EV drivers,” said Casper Rasmussen.

The deal is expected to close later this year, subject to regulatory approval.

Tech Review – Gravastar Sirius Zinc Alloy Gaming Earbuds

I am becoming a huge fan of Gravastar having tested some of their products and we have tested several bluetooth speakers and a pair of earbuds before which where the Sirius Pro Gaming Earbuds and they were great with a unique design and super cool case and excellent packaging to boot. Do check out that review here.

So when these arrived at the price they are I said to myself this is where they must fall at this price point and much to my surprise no they didn’t in fact the exceeded my expectations coming in under 100 euro and with what you get with the package.

Once again presented in a case with a pouch and chain we are off to a good start but then the case that hold the earbuds is not made with plastic it is again zinc alloy and really cool looking earbuds to go with it and you just have to wonder how they could deliver such a cool product for the price they are, there is no app and no wireless charging but the rest is there and if you want looks and great sound on a budget well these are for you.

So the sound it is then we go on to talk about, having no app made me think for this price they would sound woeful but no, there is three modes to pick from which changes the game here and they work really well and if you are into your gaming you will like these, no matter which audio profile you pick you will not be disappointed by how they sound overall, you have three modes which are gaming mode , movie mode and music mode and there is a notable difference between them which is a good thing unlike others that offer the same profiles. There is no ANC here but ENC but overall once the volume is turned up forget about what is around you. You have 7.2mm dynamic drivers and no lag latency noted during my time testing and calls are fine  both ends.

Gaming Mode Pinpoint the direction of your enemy’s footsteps with 5.1 virtual surround sound.

Movie Mode Get a full cinematic experience with HD surround sound and be right in the middle of the action.

Music Mode Feel like you’re at the front row at a concert with clear, natural vocals and a deep bass you can feel through your entire body.

So as seen above this is what to expect and not just a statement to make them look good they are good and no matter which setting you choose you will find out for yourself the audio quality is excellent, as said in the video review below the cost to performance has come along way now with earbuds and in this case with the quality materials used you are onto a winner with these.

New project pulls digital and physical worlds together for better product design

Researchers at the University of Bristol’s Department of Engineering are improving the way digital and physical design tools can work together to make products more quickly, cheaply and by anyone.

The £425k funded Engineering and Physics Research Council project brings together expertise from the University of Bristol and Bristol Digital Futures Institute with industry specialists UltraleapAutodesk , The Product Partnership,  the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in a new two-year project that aims to redefine the prototyping toolchain.

‘21st Century Prototyping Technology’ will address the challenges faced by product designers when navigating physical and digital prototypes at the same time to save both time and money

It will also look at how end-users can be brought into the prototyping process, letting them play an active role in the design process even when designing complex products, and making sure that future products are exactly suited to their own bespoke needs.

Engineers will use a combination of immersive technologies including mixed reality, haptics, physical tracking and more to develop a toolbox of cross-domain prototyping tools that simultaneously draw out the benefits of physical and digital working.

Example applications include allowing designers to physically hold and manipulate digital designs without waiting for manufacture, augmenting physical objects with virtual styling or materials while running user studies and gathering opinions without making every prototype, or embedding advanced digital analysis straight into prototyping, letting designers make the right decisions, right at the start.

University of Bristol Principal Investigator Dr Chris Snider said:

“Despite its huge potential and although proven in technical capability, the use and value of immersive technologies for product design is yet to be fully explored. We want to know if they can achieve their promise to designers and if so, how.

“I’m hoping that this project will set the tone for how products are designed in the future.  We want to cut through the vast complexity and cost that straddles virtual and physical worlds to make a streamlined process to benefit both designers and users.”

Chris’s team will be working with Bristol Digital Futures Institute to access its network of community, industry and governmental collaborators for workshops and dissemination. They could also make use of BDFI’s new facilities, such as the Reality Emulator – a large scale, multi-sector advanced digital twin at the heart of the Temple Quarter Enterprise Campus.

BDFI Institute and Partnerships Manager Hayley Shaw said:

“BDFI’s mission is to transform digital innovation for more sustainable, inclusive and prosperous futures. End-user involvement in the process of design is an important part of the suite of methods BDFI will deploy to achieve this mission, and we are delighted to support Chris and his team in this pioneering project.”

Tech Review – JBL Tour One Headphones

JBL has launched plenty of new products lately and we have a few products to get through and mostly earbuds and so far so good in the testing on them but these headphones are one thing that caught my eye and was looking forward to checking these out and I was not disappointed and they have a cool trick up their sleeve which I never even noted in the unboxing experince of several JBL products here

The Tour One headphones have been out some time now however they still are in my book considered a current pair you would use today with a really nice matt finish that looks glossy with darker tones on the inner side of the cups with a bronze type colour finish and it looks well and gives them a premium look the cups are also comfortable too and wearing them for long periods is no issue either and I had a 6 hour stint in one session alone with them.

The build quality too is great and no creaks noted on doing the usual twist test you have a nice comfortable headband and the usual ratchet style sliders for the arms on both sides which are solid and will not move, these also also foldable and stow away nicely in the travel case provided with some extra cables inside and an adapter too which makes a nice complete package and ideal for those who travel.

When it comes to sound these are really good and up there with other brands with good volume and ANC too the audio experience is also great all round and they kept me happy during my testing be it listening to music gaming and movies with a really rich experience in there with some bass to and lets not forget about their app too.

The JBL app has improved giving the user many options to take control there is some differences in their app as you go through their products which you will see here in the other reviews coming out soon and it is for the better, in some cases you can see why and who the target customer is.

The controls on the headphones are easy to use and you have many other options at hand with the App like talk through, ambient mode and more, one feature I like now and is common with JBL products is the Assistant button which is present here on the headphones which allows you to listen to messages and more and get on the fly info by just pressing it, also here you have control rockers but also a gesture/tap area on the right cup which allows you to control the music even more and a nice feature one we have seen before but these are a hybrid approach with both buttons and the gestures.

There is also other features such as Silent Now which lets you take control of what you want to hear and can be modified to suit your needs, so ideal for productivity, calls are also good and clear here and no lag latency noted during any scenario testing these headphones and with the app you have more control than ever to customise these to your needs be it for work or personal use and you should check them out. Check the video review below for a full tour.

Gramrphone Launches Game Changing TikTok integration

London based live music streaming startup Gramrphone today announced a game-changing integration with TikTok, enabling creators to stream high quality live performances and listening parties straight from their studio to their TikTok followers.

Hot off the heels of recent integrations with Boomplay, Mixcloud and Bandcamp, Gramrphone have targeted the rapidly growing social media platform as the next destination to level-up with high quality live music.

Cofounder Graham Allen thought social media was a natural progression, as the company pivots towards a B2B middleware offering, commenting: “We’re lucky enough to have hyper engaged users around the world, who we can listen to and learn from, and over the last year TikTok repeatedly came up as the platform musicians wanted to stream to.”

The engineering team went into stealth mode over the summer to develop the integration, which is now available for public download. Allen continued: “Our mission with Gramrphone is always to help musicians deliver high quality live music wherever their fans may be, and TikTok is where the next generation of fans are, so it was always going to be a major focus for us.”

The Gramrphone team are tight lipped on future integration partners but mentioned that Music Streaming and Social Media platforms are always going to be at the top of the list, with one eye on the future of live music consumption via Web 3 and Gaming platforms.

For now though, Gramrphone are concentrating on delivering to TikTok “We’re super excited to get Gramrphone into the hands of musicians on TikTok” Allen concluded, “the talent and creativity on there is insane, and we can’t wait to hear the incredible live music content that’s to come!”

Fiat vs crypto: Is the race on?

Cryptocurrencies are digital assets and are getting extremely popular these days, many people have started investing in cryptos, and many public places and online stores have started accepting cryptos as the mode of payment. Although some cryptos are not very popular and their value is also not that high, these days, cryptos like bitcoins and Ethereum are gaining colossal hype. It is often discussed whether cryptos are better than fiat currency or if cryptos are going to replace fiat; if you also have similar questions, read the article below to clear all your doubts.  You need to know and learn more about 5 Crypto trading tips and tricks.

Crypto vs fiat

Cryptocurrencies do not have a central body to control the system. Still, a government authority regulates the traditional currency, which helps in case of system disruption or other suspicious acts where users are prone to lose their accounts. Still, fiat does not let that happen because all the data is backed up centrally.

Investing in cryptos comes with many risks because their price can change drastically at any moment, and you may end up losing your investment; it is advised never to put in a value; you cannot risk losing. But fiat currency has stable prices, and you have few chances to lose your money.

In addition, crypto is a relatively newer concept as compared to fiat; However, cryptos are gaining a lot of popularity these days, still lesser people are aware of how to use cryptos for general payments, and only a few public places and online stores accept crypto as the mode of payment. However, these figures will increase in the future; right now, people find fiat the convenient source of payments because everyone around the globe uses it.

How to use crypto for making payments?

Acquiring a cryptocurrency

You do not need to be associated with any organization to gain cryptocurrency, but this method is considered the easiest to acquire cryptocurrency. The features provided by these exchanges can convert fiat money into cryptocurrency and may also assist you in securing your private keys and in matters of technical problems.

Need of a wallet

To pay via cryptocurrency, you will require a wallet app. This application works as a medium between you and your crypto. You can easily download the wallet application on your devices.

In many cryptocurrency exchanges, users are provided with wallets that they can use to make transactions with others. These days wallets can even send and receive payments by scanning QR codes using the device camera.

Sending and receiving payments

Making crypto payments is not as difficult as it sounds; all you need for this process is your device with a wallet application installed.

Send process

Open the wallet application and press the send button to send payments using cryptocurrency. After this, put in the amount to be sent and the QR code or address of the receiver’s wallet. The payment is set to be sent; look carefully into the details to avoid future details. Finally, click send to transfer the amount.

Do cryptos have an extra edge over fiat?

Cryptos let you trade without involving any third party; unlike fiat, cryptos give users the freedom to trade without taking approvals from a central authority; this saves a lot of time, and the transaction fee is also minimal for crypto payments.

In addition, cryptos allow users to trade without revealing their identity; this is impossible for fiat users; you must provide genuine details about yourself to send and receive payments using fiat currency.

Moreover, although there is a risk while investing in cryptos, the potential gain is also very high, making crypto more appealing than fiat.

In conclusion, cryptos and fiat both have their own merits and demerits; it depends on you and your preference which method you will choose, fiat currency is considered reliable and has been in use for years now, and cryptos are a relatively newer concept; comparatively lesser people are aware of cryptos, and only a few online stores and public places accept cryptos as the mode of payment. So right now, cryptos can’t take fiat’s position, but looking at the current success of cryptos, it may happen sometime in future. But cryptos must work a lot and gain people’s trust to replace fiat.
