The FUJIFILM instax Pal 2 digital camera is a fun to use tiny camera you can bring anywhere and take fun snaps and more on the go and for its size again it got people talking when I had it out and about.
The instax Pal 2 digital camera is not the usual from the brand which mainly use bigger type cameras with the retro look and are not up the standard of digital cameras this has a 10 megapixel camera on board a flash and selfie mirror and there is lots packed inside it.
There is also a screen on it which works really well as an optical viewfinder at hip height which people will find useful to use and it can also be placed on a tripod or use the little gizmo that comes with it to prop it up and remotely shoot, yes you can use your phone to do lots too which we show you in the video below. Your phone can play a big part here in the final process with the features on the app which is very cool and w have seen most of it before on previous instax cameras but this has some more inside the app.
The dedicated instax Pal 2 app lets the user’s smartphone act as a remote shutter for hands-free photography. The app also lets users store and transfer their photos via Bluetooth, while the built-in USB Type-C connector on the camera allows users to connect their smartphone directly to transfer photos into the app. Users can also review their image before transferring via Pal 2’s 1.0-inch LCD Screen on the top of the camera.
Users can make their photos personal with any of Pal 2’s five filter themes, each with six unique effects. Options also include the ability to switch between instax mini, SQUARE, or WIDE instant film and frameless formats before adding filters, text, and stickers.
Pal 2 includes the instax Animation shooting mode – a new way to capture 10 frames and turn them into a playful, flipbook-style animation. Switching modes is quick and intuitive, making it easy to move from still images to animations. To print, users can choose their favorite shot and transfer it directly to any compatible, connected instax smartphone printer or hybrid instant camera (sold separately). You can see images below of how it works but we demo more in the video.
On top there is also a lever that allows you to switch between frame sizes which is cool if you have the printers at hand the camera does not print photos so lets get that bit clear I actually had some hold it and ask me where do they come out lol.
The menu structure in the app is not too difficult to navigate either and you can do some editing on the camera itself but it is best to use the app and get creative you will get great shots in the day and some night shots even came out quite good to be fair.
There was some lag at times on using this however this could be fixed with a software update I would image but overall this is a cool little camera and again a talking point with my time with it so far and people will love it due to its size and what it can do, I have heard some say it is a gimmick and a toy but for me it is not it is quite cool and photo fans will like it.
