CHERRY XTRFY has expanded its premium portfolio with the K63W Pro Compact Ultra-Wideband. It is the first gaming keyboard to combine Ultra-Wideband technology with a wireless polling rate of 8000 Hz, alongside a low-profile gasket-mounted construction. The package is completed by CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 switches, a new esports-oriented 70% layout, and a 6000 mAh battery for long wireless gaming sessions.
The K63W Pro Compact was unveiled at Computex 2026 in Taipei, where it featured on several “Best of Computex” lists from various media outlets. The keyboard is aimed at experienced gamers looking for a fast, reliable wireless solution with a high-quality typing feel.
The K63W Pro Compact is the first gaming keyboard from CHERRY XTRFY to feature Ultra-Wideband connectivity. This technology transmits data via short pulses across a broad frequency spectrum and operates within its own frequency range. As a result, interference from other wireless devices is significantly reduced, and the connection remains stable even in congested wireless environments.
In competitive games, milliseconds often decide between victory and defeat. UWB technology registers inputs almost instantaneously, combining high transmission speed with high energy efficiency. The K63W Pro Compact achieves a polling rate of 8000 Hz in both wireless and wired modes, transmitting signals to the computer up to eight times per millisecond. This ensures every input is captured and executed quickly, even during rapid keystroke sequences and hectic gaming situations.
A central feature of the K63W Pro Compact is its gasket construction. The elastic mounting of the internal components reduces vibrations and dampens noise, resulting in a softer, more controlled typing feel. Such construction has until now been rare among low-profile gaming keyboards and provides added comfort during long sessions.
The CHERRY MX Low Profile 2.0 switches also contribute to the overall experience. These mechanical switches feature a revised design and precisely tuned lubrication, supporting a smooth keystroke and improved acoustics. The switches are rated for a lifespan of more than 100 million actuations without loss of input quality.
With the K63W Pro Compact, CHERRY XTRFY introduces a new 70% layout tailored to the requirements of gamers. The function keys remain, while the side areas of the keyboard have been reduced, creating additional space for wide mouse movements and a clean, ergonomic setup.
The bottom-right keys can be flexibly configured and used either as arrow keys or alternative functions such as Shift or Ctrl. Combined with the corresponding settings, multiple key assignments are also possible, allowing the keyboard to be customised to different playstyles and workflows.
For long wireless gaming sessions, the K63W Pro Compact features a 6000 mAh battery with a runtime of up to 1100 hours, depending on the chosen settings. Per-key RGB lighting, full N-key rollover, and complete anti-ghosting complete the feature set. If the keyboard needs charging, gameplay can continue uninterrupted via the detachable USB-C cable.
The CHERRY XTRFY K63W Pro Compact Ultra-Wideband is available now across Europe, with a recommended retail price of £179.99. The US launch is scheduled for this summer.
