Bitcoin Influence on the Technology of Australia

Bitcoin is revolutionizing the technology landscape of Australia, having a wide-reaching effect on many aspects of the industry. It has become one of the most sought-after digital currencies in the nation, with many businesses and individuals adopting it as a preferred payment option. Bitcoin’s decentralized nature allows for transactions to be conducted without intermediaries or banks, providing faster and cheaper payments. Furthermore, its open source code enables users to develop their own applications and services that are tailored to their needs, allowing them to customize their experience while also benefiting from its security features. The immediate edge is one of the best platforms that can help you in gaining guidelines about bitcoin trading.

Australia has seen an increasing number of businesses accepting Bitcoin as a form of payment. This includes major retailers such as Kogan and Flight Centre, as well as online marketplaces like eBay Australia. Additionally, there are several specialist businesses offering products and services related to cryptocurrencies and blockchain technology, such as Coinstop and Living Room of Satoshi. The government has also taken steps towards encouraging the use of Bitcoin by providing tax breaks for those who use it for business purposes.

The technology behind Bitcoin has also enabled other forms of digital currencies in Australia, such as Ethereum, Litecoin and Ripple. This diversity provides greater choice for investors who want to diversify their portfolios across different types of assets. Moreover, these digital currencies can be used to facilitate transactions between two parties without involving traditional financial institutions or third-party intermediaries – thus reducing costs associated with fees or charges for using these services.

The impact of Bitcoin on the Australian technology landscape goes beyond just finance; its decentralized nature has enabled developers to create innovative applications with greater levels of privacy than ever before. For example, data storage solutions utilizing blockchain are becoming increasingly more popular due to its untampered immutability – making it ideal for storing records securely over long periods of time with no need for human intervention or manipulation. Similarly, smart contracts have been developed in order to facilitate peer-to-peer (P2P) transactions between two parties without relying on an intermediary or third party – this allows both parties involved to retain more control over their data while also cutting down on costs associated with going through a third party service provider.

The introduction and adoption of Bitcoin is changing how Australians perceive money and is inspiring a new wave of innovation in the field of technology within Australia – paving the way for further development within this growing sector in years to come.

Advantages of Bitcoin in Tech:

Bitcoin has many advantages for the technology industry in Australia. As a decentralized digital currency, it is not tied to any central bank or government authority and is accessible to anyone with an internet connection. Transactions occur without the need for trust between two parties, allowing fast and secure payments without costly fees or unnecessary delays. Moreover, Bitcoin enables users to remain anonymous while engaging in international transactions, which can help protect their financial data against cybercrime.

The use of Bitcoin in tech also helps to reduce bureaucracy and simplify complex processes such as contract management and supply chain tracking by providing a secure ledger that can be easily reviewed and verified. In addition, it provides an efficient way to store data securely, reducing the need for physical storage solutions such as paper files or hard drives. This makes it easy for businesses to manage large amounts of data quickly and cost-effectively.

Furthermore, Bitcoin offers more security for financial transactions than traditional methods, giving both customers and businesses peace of mind when conducting business online. Its blockchain technology makes transactions virtually impossible to tamper with or reverse once they are recorded on the ledger. This eliminates fraud risks associated with traditional payment methods such as credit cards or PayPal.

Finally, Bitcoin is helping drive innovation in tech by encouraging startups to develop new ideas and solutions that would not have been possible before its emergence. This has resulted in an influx of venture capital into the sector as well as an increase in creativity from developers who are keen to explore this exciting new field of finance.

An Introduction to KYC and Why It’s Crucial

As the Internet becomes more and more accessible, the risks of issues like fraud and money laundering also increase. Different industries need to avoid illegal activities. They also must ensure the safety of their customers’ personal information. Since everyday things can be done online, while sitting behind a screen, the potential for fraudulent pursuits is at an all-time high. One way to do so is by the use of KYC processes. Let’s see what this entails and how it becomes a crucial part of any institution’s due diligence.

What is Know Your Customer (KYC)?

As the name suggests, KYC is a verification process that informs a company about its customers’ identities. It varies from one industry to another. However, the primary aspects include:

  • Document verification,
  • Facial verification,
  • Address verification.

These three elements tell a company who its customers are. It also informs whether their information is legitimate. Various laws and regulations influence other parts of the Know Your Client procedure. This depends on which industry is considered.

KYC Verification in Online Casinos

Online gambling is all the rage these days. New Irish online casinos are popping up regularly, attracting thousands of users worldwide. Since every online casino deals with real money, having a strong KYC procedure is necessary. Many top rated casino sites do this already, as online casinos’ safety depends on it. Users go through a verification process in every top casino checked by Irishcasinorius experts, so gambling in Ireland is secure. Customer identification is essential to prevent fraud on online gambling sites. This is why your ID and proof of address are often required when registering for an account.

KYC in Financial Institutions

ID verification is especially important for banks and financial institutions to thwart attempts of money laundering. Many wrongly believe that KYC and AML (Anti-Money Laundering) are separate processes, but they go hand in hand. The Know Your Client actions at a bank involve verifying identities and addresses via government-issued documents. Not only banks but other financial services like cryptocurrency exchanges also have a KYC process. Cryptocurrency platforms may also perform additional checks. This includes assessing people’s credit history, previous legal issues, risk factors, etc.

Real Estate Verification of Identity

KYC checks are usually termed VOI, or Verification of Identity, in the real estate industry. The process involves checking the identity and address details of customers who are buying or selling property. Companies also confirm their clients’ financial history and stability. All this is important to ensure that a property isn’t being bought for suspicious activity, etc. Document verification when dealing with real estate is a vital step to prevent fraudulent or otherwise dangerous activities.

Conveyancing KYC

Conveyancing KYC is done when a property is being transferred from one person to another. After confirming the client’s identity, the company usually checks their creditworthiness, owned assets, and current income. Such information is needed to make sure the transaction will go through and to avoid judicial settlements.

Job Candidates’ Identity

No one wants to hire someone who might end up becoming a risk or liability for the company. That’s why every company should verify the identity of each candidate. It’s no secret that technology has changed our lives in many ways. People don’t need to physically appear in offices to drop their CVs. Instead, they can simply apply online. This is what makes KYC necessary for recruitment purposes. Other than confirming someone’s identity, companies also need information about their employment history, criminal history, and qualifications.

Alcohol Industry Customers’ Identification

Many industries still don’t follow KYC requirements. The alcohol industry is a good example of this. Since IDs are not always checked during deliveries and purchases, underage drinking continues at a rapid pace. More and more kids are drinking, which leads to plenty of other issues like drunk driving, underage pregnancies, assault, etc. There is a dire need for ID verification when alcohol is being bought to minimize this issue. The industry also needs to develop infrastructure that is equipped to detect fake documents.

KYC in Medical Institutions

Among the biggest threats faced by the medical industry in this regard is identity theft. Many people tend to steal the identities of actual patients, including their insurance data. This is then used to buy drugs prescribed to the patients. Such fraudulent activities are harmful to those who actually need the medication. Hospitals and pharmacies find it tough to know who is a real patient and who is not.

This is why KYC and AML regulations are so important to implement in the healthcare sector. Identity verification through technology like facial or fingerprint verification is one solution. When institutes ask their customers for insurance data while utilizing some sort of recognition technology, the risk of fraud is reduced.

Bottom Line

Knowing Your Customer holds a ton of weight, especially in today’s digital world. These days, everything can be done online. A lot of the time, you don’t have to meet your customer physically. Ensuring their identity, therefore, becomes impossible without KYC practices in place. This is particularly true for the financial industry where people can commit fraud and launder money. But other industries also need KYC, whether it is an Irish casino, a healthcare institute, or a company hiring someone new.

New Dell devices designed to inspire a true work from anywhere spirit

Dell Technologies has today unveiled new devices as part of a revamp of the company’s commercial portfolio. With a new Latitude 9440, additions to the Latitude 7000 series, a new Precision workstation and a new UltraSharp Curved Monitor, the new line-up aims to drive collaboration and productivity in the new world of work.

Introducing the Latitude 9440

The new Latitude 9440 caters to the needs of executives, salespeople and consultants, and it is packed with innovation in the world’s smallest 14” commercial PC.

Inspired by the iconic design of Dell’s XPS line, but with a deliberate aesthetic for business users, the Latitude 9440 is clean, smooth and simplified. The machined aluminium and graphite colour offer a sleek and premium look. Even with this beautiful two-in-one design, Dell has prioritized performance. Conference calls can take a toll on PCs but they are here to stay. Dell has updated its thermal design to rear venting dual-fan systems for a cool and quiet experience.

The new design choices cater to the commercial user for a comfortable all-day typing experience. Stemming from the Concept Luna sustainable PC workstream, Dell has reduced backlit keyboard power usage by up to 75% and increased battery life by three hours[iii] with the new mini-LED backlit keyboard technology. The striking new keyboard includes wider keys with no gap (also known as zero-lattice), an increased angle between keys and curvature on each key for easy tactile separation.

Incredibly light and small, the new Latitude 7000 series

The new Latitude 7000 series features Ultralights and aluminium options to offer a variety of sizes, form factors and functions for the diverse needs of the mobile professional. It includes a 16:10 aspect ratio and the same mini-LED battery-saving keyboard as the 9440 to make it easier to work productively, no matter the location.

The Latitude 7340/7440 Ultralights deliver productivity in a thin and light form factor for maximum mobility. Now available in a 14-inch display size, they are the world’s smallest and lightest 14-inch and 13.3-inch premium commercial laptops. Weighing under one kilogram (13-inches) and slightly over 1kg (14-inches), and made with magnesium throughout the full chassis, the devices are light yet extremely durable with a smooth and sleek touch.

The Latitude 7000 series is also available in 13-inch, 14-inch inch aluminium options, now with a new 16-inch aluminium option. Users can work efficiently with enhanced features of an enlarged touchpad and high-quality top and bottom firing speakers.

Performance and style reach new heights with Dell Precision

For professionals who require high performance, stylish design and more screen real estate, Dell has added a 16-inch thin and light mobile workstation to its Precision line-up.

The new Precision 5680 has the smallest footprint in the world for a 16-inch workstation, offering even more power and immersive experiences for creators and engineers. The specs are impressive: up to Intel® Core™ i9 (45W), and up to 64GB of DDR5 memory with NVIDIA RTX™ 5000 Ada Generation Laptop GPU. Users will benefit from the crisp 16:10, three-sided InfinityEdge display, haptic trackpad for quick and responsive feedback, four grade A audio speakers, up to UHD+ PremierColor display and FHD IR camera with proximity and ambient light sensor.

Dell has also updated the broader Dell Precision portfolio – from the entry-level 3000 Series mobile workstations to the most powerful Precision 7000 Series mobile, tower and rack workstations.

A branching ecosystem

A modern work setup requires both software and ecosystem solutions around the PC so that users can efficiently maximize productivity. This is why Dell has also unveiled the UltraSharp 49 Curved USB-C Hub Monitor. The device features a 49” dual QHD curved monitor that allows users to split their display into two 27-inch QHD partitions – without the bezel in between for even more virtually seamless multitasking. With financial traders, engineers and data analysts in mind for multiscreen productivity, users can connect and display content from two PCs simultaneously to one monitor.. It allows users to manage displays and peripherals more easily in one interface.

“Let’s face it, how we work and where we work today is different for everyone”, said Meghana Patwardhan, Vice President and General Manager, Commercial PCs and Software, at Dell Technologies. “Whether it’s hybrid work, remote work, flexible work or in-office work, one thing is fundamentally consistent: technology. It is the great equalizer driving collaboration and productivity, providing new experiences of flexibility and freedom.”

“While today many can work from anywhere, there are still limitations hindering our work experiences. Solving these challenges sits at the core of our design philosophy and represents the innovations in our commercial portfolio. It spans from the device to the ecosystem to the software and solutions that bring an elevated sense of connection and collaboration.

“Already known as the world’s most intelligent and secure commercial PCs – we’ve updated our commercial portfolio with new designs, new collaboration features and new levels of performance. In addition to our laptops and workstations, we’ve simplified our desktop portfolio, added another breath-taking monitor and extended intelligence to the entire PC ecosystem. Throughout it all, we’re thinking about sustainability, security, manageability and service offerings that help ensure businesses can meet their goals and free up the day-to-day burden on IT departments.“

Businesses in Ireland to benefit from quantum computer access via Equinix

Oxford Quantum Circuits (OQC), a leading global Quantum Computing as a Service (QCaaS) company, and Equinix, Inc. (Nasdaq: EQIX), the world’s digital infrastructure company, today announced that OQC will make one of the most powerful quantum computers available commercially to businesses in Ireland via Equinix’s TY11 Tokyo International Business Exchange (IBX®) data centre.

OQC is installing its quantum hardware in TY11 and plans to leverage Equinix’s on-demand interconnection solution, Equinix Fabric®, to make its Quantum Computing as a Service available to businesses and organisations around the world, including Ireland, on Equinix’s global platform in late 2023.

Once connected to Equinix Fabric, businesses will benefit from the ease of access to quantum computing as if it is on-premises, meaning that they can trial and experiment with the ground-breaking technology by directly connecting to QCaaS within their own digital infrastructure with greater security and ease.

It is expected there will be growing demand from organisations, with the technology set to support a wide range of sectors, from drug discovery and development to risk management, banking and advanced manufacturing.

Peter Lantry, Managing Director for Equinix in Ireland, spoke of the benefits to Irish businesses: “Quantum computing is set to be a transformational revolution in processing speed and power for businesses, and there is already an exciting ecosystem building around it in Ireland. The country has been investing in quantum computing research and experimentation and this will open the technology and the great potential it holds to a much wider audience. Quantum computers can solve certain highly complex computational problems in a matter of minutes, when even the most powerful supercomputers would take thousands of years to solve the same problem. This cutting-edge technology will create unique opportunities for Irish companies in all areas as it can better optimise investment strategies, improve data encryption or even assist in the discovery of new products in areas like MedTech and pharmaceuticals, where Ireland is already a world leader. As the country continues to grow its digital economy, we are very proud to be at the forefront of enabling that growth.”

Commenting on the news, Dr. Ilana Wisby, CEO at OQC, said: “The world has been waiting for quantum computing to mature to the point that it can change our lives. Installing quantum computing in Equinix’s world-class TY11 data centre brings us a step closer to this reality.

Quantum computing represents a major shift in terms of technology and process. Unlike traditional classical computers, quantum computers can crunch vast amounts of data at incredible speeds. We are excited to work with Equinix to help businesses around the world to build their quantum skillset and capabilities. The future is here, and we are setting the pace for the era of quantum computing.”

Andrew Buss, Senior Research Director, Europe: Future of Digital Infrastructure, IDC points to recent research IDC carried out: “For data-driven businesses, the ability to differentiate and remain competitive comes down to delivering meaningful insights on ever-more complex scenarios and in tighter timespans. This is driving them to invest in cutting-edge technologies, such as quantum computing, that have the potential to revolutionise key data-to-insights functions. IDC predicts that by 2026, 95% of companies will invest in compute technologies that deliver faster insights from complex data sets to drive differentiated business outcomes. Making quantum computing available ‘as-a-Service’ on a globally interconnected digital infrastructure should significantly reduce barriers to experimentation and adoption such as cost, skills, and the complexity of integration—and open up quantum technology to many more organisations to test and use.”

Arun Dev, Global Head of Digital Interconnection at Equinix, highlights the benefits and importance of Equinix Fabric for customers such as OQC wanting to expand their connectivity opportunities: Quantum computing has the potential to transform the way businesses solve problems both now and into the future, especially as our customers look for more innovative solutions. As the world’s digital infrastructure company, we are proud to enable easier, secure, high-bandwidth access to this pioneering technology to thousands of businesses around the world. Welcoming OQC’s quantum computer to our global interconnection ecosystem on Platform Equinix underpins our commitment to supporting innovation. We are looking forward to working together to solve some of the key digital challenges organisations face today.”

Esri maps ancient Irish woodlands to celebrate National Tree Week #BiodiversityBeginswithTrees

Esri Ireland, the market leader in Geographic Information Systems (GIS), has created a digital map highlighting nearly 500 ancient and long-established woodlands around Ireland this National Tree Week, which runs until Sunday 26th March.

Ancient woodlands have been continuously wooded since before planting and afforestation became common practice, some of which date back to the 1600s. These woodlands are steeped in both biological and cultural significance, and their roots may even have links to prehistoric wildwoods.

The interactive map also explores a diverse range of woodland types, including conifer plantations, mixed woodlands, and those with non-native tree species.

The theme for National Tree Week 2023, #BiodiversityBeginswithTrees, aims to inspire the public to plant and protect trees and highlight the crucial role that trees play in improving biodiversity. Since its inception in 1985, National Tree Week has been responsible for planting over half a million trees in Ireland.

Convert your Apple Watch to Watch Ultra In Under A Minute – Review

The Apple Watch Ultra is a hugely expensive companion device and is a very nice looking watch I have to say despite not having so much love for the brand. I have though the last two years took another go with Apple and it must be said their watches are nice and the phone not so bad but with barriers still in place for many things which is why I still carry an Android device but with their watches they are good I will give them that and after having several models I went back to the Series 7 again after having the latest SE version which is just as good. Now before I go forward this does not add battery life or features it is just for looks.

A few have asked about the expensive product and I simply can’t justify the price regardless how good it looks and some conversion kits have cropped up online so I decide to get one for myself and convert the Series 7 45mm which I own and love and totally transform it into the Watch Ultra for around 20 euros, now you will be waiting a while to get these items delivered but today we check this out in a short video and let you see what to expect and get that Ultra Watch look at a fraction of the cost whilst updating your own watch.

Below is the links where I got the products and the video, the only thing is changing the face itself which can be modified in the app and who knows I still may pick the Watch Ultra up given that the product is not metal on the housing end but let us know what you think. It looks good but you will know it feels cheap. Perhaps later on there will be metal housing available which would come at an expense but would be worth it on the looks department.

Come on over! – How to host the perfect game gathering

Whether you’re considering the rise in online casinos, the gamification of apps, or the influx of entertainment options, it’s clear that hosting a game night can be a huge win for you and your friends. Whether you go with a digital game, board game, or any other offering, you need to understand some steps that’ll make it a successful night.

Hosting can be a big responsibility, but the satisfaction is worthwhile when you see the people you love having a good time. Keep reading for words of advice when planning a game night.

Decide on the games and setting

Before anything, figure out what games your guests will enjoy. Bingo is an excellent game for a group setting. It’s a game built for large groups and can host as many people as you invite.

It’s also a versatile game since you can play it online or grab some bingo cards and host bingo under the same roof. Certain websites offer free bingo to play, with live hosts and chat. Companies today let players log in using standalone apps or website access. You can go with this setup for a remote party, or play the physical game if you’re inviting people over.

A murder mystery dinner party is an intriguing option that lets people play along with the theme and dress the part. You can also host a casino night featuring roulette, poker, blackjack, and other options. Choose some crowd-pleasers, pick the ideal location, and send out some invites so that you can get a headcount for who is showing up.

Respect and enforce the rules

Having an understanding of the game rules is arguably the most important thing to bear in mind for your game night.

If you’re hosting a bingo night, familiarise yourself with the rules of the game so that you know how to break ties and handle other nuanced points. If you’re hosting a casino night, consider hiring professional dealers or appointing people to serve as independent, impartial dealers and casino hosts.

Send the rules of the game out in advance for people to see and understand. This way, everyone is on the same page once the games kick off.

Carve out more time than you think you need

Choose a game night where everyone’s schedules are wide open. Start the game early enough in the day or night to let it potentially go on for hours without rushing. The reason for this is that you never really can tell how long a match will go on.

It might involve an open-ended game like Monopoly, or a game like bingo that can go on for as many cards as people would like to play. If you’re hosting a chess tournament, you may as well be prepared to block out the rest of the night, because a single match can become a showdown of wits that lasts for hours. A murder mystery dinner party can go on for an indefinite amount of time if you don’t put a cap on it.

Keep plenty of food, music, and other accommodations available so that eliminated players and people just watching are taken care of. It’s a social gathering at the end of the day, so keep tabs on every part of being a good host. Begin with the tips above and start planning out your next successful game night.
