Siempo phone – A genius product or just pointless. Discuss. #mobile #siempo

This popped up in my timeline over the weekend and got me thinking.

Its 2017 and our mobile phone is now more part of our daily lives than ever before. With the eCommerce boom social media browsing and email we are constantly glued to the dam things and as I have said before if you look in a coffee shop, restaurant or public transport we all have our heads buried in our phones not minding whats going on around us and this is a bad thing and its getting worse..

Siempo phone is due to launch this year  via crowdfunding and its hear to tackle this very problem but in a more controlled manner, they see it as a mindful phone for the modern age….

Siempo is the first mindful phone that limits distractions, without compromising access to the modern services that we depend on – including synced contacts and calendar, group messaging and wifi tethering. Siempo is the only phone designed with your best intentions in mind, helping you be more focused, present and fulfilled.

Ok so we have no idea of the specs of this device but can it really be of value to anyone today? It says it will limit distractions, We can already limit ourselves from distraction with apps, there is flight mode and there is an off button on all phones, or we can simply just leave the dam phone at home..Yeah I know not as easy as it sounds….

Unless this phone has full control of how you use it and no way around it by the owner personally adjusting the settings for me its a pointless product. But then lets wait and see what it has to offer..

If this is your thing keep an eye out HERE

UPDATE..

Now on Kickstarter which is expected to ship in December 2017.. Thats a LONG WAIT and will cost around €300.. Is it worth it ???

Review – Keplar #VirtualReality headset with built in headphones from Mobile Fun Ireland.

With built in headphones this is an all in one package.

Having tried, tested and now owning some 20 VR headsets now its nice to see how things are moving forward with Virtual Reality, Not only that how the actual HMDs (Head Mounted Displays) are moving forward too.

This is our 2nd VR headset from the guys over at Mobile Fun Ireland which we would like to thank before we talk some more on this nice piece of kit….

The packaging is simple to begin with and inside the headset rests in moulded plastic to keep it in place,Also we get some quick instructions and a cloth to wipe the eyelets should they steam up and of course to keep them clean.

The headset itself is quite cool and with the first one having built in headphones I was keen to get started and listen to the quality which turned out better than expected to be honest and its a pleasurable experience overall. I do also though recommend using headphones when using VR because it adds to the experience which enhances it overall.

Smartphones command our attention for 4 hours a day. #Smartphones #Mobile #Infographic

We now only need one device to book travel arrangements, complete our grocery shopping, map out a route to an unfamiliar location, catch up with our fix of news, take photographs, listen to music and translate text into foreign languages – and that’s just a small portion of what the modern smartphone can do. The typical adult is so enthralled by this handheld piece of electronic equipment that he/she will use it for 4 hours a day, with many of us becoming so dependent on our smartphones that we would struggle to execute several straightforward yet practical (and sometimes essential) tasks without the device’s help.

When you come across a situation where you’re unsure how to proceed next, or if the answer to a piece of trivia has your stumped, your response is quite likely to constitute taking out your phone to find the solution. It is tremendous to think that one device can solve so many everyday dilemmas, but sometimes the smartphone can be too convenient and we end up being transfixed on a screen of roughly six square inches, oblivious to the physical environment around us.

This infographic from Neon SMS (http://www.neonsms.ie/web-bulk-text.php) examines just how dependent we have become on our smartphones and suggests ways in which we can keep that dependency in check. The smartphone’s status as a powerful, multi-purpose communications device is undisputed. It’s our behaviour in using one that requires a rethink. Let’s see what the infographic has to say.

Twitter finally tackles abuse, better late then never. #SocialMedia #Twitter

Twitter has problems, this is one of them and they have a lot more to do..

Twitter has announced new measures to tackle abuse and trolls on the platform today. However as it stands with the Micro Blogging site there is to much transparency issues throughout and this wont save them..They just wont listen to its core users…

Twitters says…

We’re continuing our work to make Twitter safer, moving faster than ever to do so. During the past few weeks alone, we’ve made a number of changes on this front including updating how you can report abusive Tweets, stopping the creation of new abusive accounts, implementing safer search results, collapsing abusive or low-quality Tweets, and reducing notifications from conversations started by people you’ve blocked or muted. We’ve already seen an impact from these updates and we appreciate and value all of your feedback along the way.

Giving you more control with additional tools.

We’re also introducing new filtering options for your notifications to give you more control over what you see from certain types of accounts, like those without a profile photo, unverified email addresses or phone numbers. Many people requested more filter options for their notifications, and we’re excited to bring these to everyone on Twitter.

We’re also expanding the mute feature to build on the work we did in November which lets you remove certain keywords, phrases, or entire conversations from your notifications. Now, you’ll be able to mute from your home timeline and you can decide how long this content is muted – one day, one week, one month, or indefinitely. This was another big request from you and we’re looking forward to rolling it out.

You can read their full post here because frankly when I see more transparency I will believe it…. Until then…

THINKWARE introduce suction mount accessory to their range. #dashcams

THINKWARE dash cams have recently added suction mounts as an accessory to their hugely successful range, you can find out more about their full range here.

THINKWARE has recently introduced a suction mount holding device into the UK market to allow its cameras to be much more portable and to be moved to different locations as required.

All the THINKWARE dash cams still come equipped with the 3M tape they have always had. This tape ensures that the legality of the dash cam placing is not an issue for customers. However, the addition of the optional suction mount accessory provides customers with the ability to move the dash cam from car to car.

Its discreet, compact design enables the camera to be mounted behind the rear view mirror minimising the encroachment on the driver’s field of view (NB more than 4cm is against the law).

So when going on holiday or driving a hire car, detach your camera from your car, pop the suction mount into your pocket, confident that you have the security and reassurance of using a THINKWARE dash cam in whatever car you are driving.
