There is no shortage of weather apps available today and thats a given,we are spoiled for choice and to what one is the best this will always be an arguable topic. For me I use quite a few such as Dark Sky,Real Time lightning maps and NW storm radar, they all serve the purpose I use them for,I have never been on to rely on long range forecasts and normally check for live information with the likes of NW storm radar..
This app called Windyty has a nice website and app to boot with nice animations and uses several model outputs you should pin it to your bookmarks on your desktop if you require detailed information.. (Windyty) The app is on Android now and coming to iOS soon.
Created by IVO he says
I am an addicted kiter, helicopter and jet pilot, who seeks the wind, waves, METARs and powder snow almost constantly. Since programming is my passion I coded Windyty.com in 2014 as my pet project, using open source codes of Cameron Becarrio. My goal is to keep Windyty small and fast, rather than to destroy it by adding new features, and making it slow and big.
