Apps – POZ is a dating app for the HIV community. #HIV #LGBT #POZ #Dating

Dating apps are quite common now with dating apps for all sorts not to be taken in the wrong context either but we now even have dating apps for people at Airport lounges and much much more.. As it stands dating apps are still troublesome for some people whilst some think they are find, its just a matter of being cautious and be careful what you post and cross check when possible on who you talk to.. Safety First.

POZ is available now on both Android and iPhone and its free… The app was created by Andrew Goyvaerts

In an interview with Attitude here is a brief outline of how the app came about.

So what is POZ and how did it come about?

It was only launched in March but it’s a concept I came up with about two years ago. There were a few things that I found with mainstream dating apps that complicated things: One was coming out of the ‘HIV closet’, which I think a lot of gay men battle with, and the second was rejection on those sites.

Obviously that’s a personal choice, but when somebody is saying they would rather not go out with you because of something like HIV, it’s quite different to being told they don’t want to go out with you because they’re not into you. It’s a very different feeling, and I felt there was a real need for this [app]. We are worldwide. We’ve had a lot of downloads in the UK, Australia and America, which seem to be our main areas, so that’s where we’re mainly focused on.

App description

poz is a new app proudly serving the dating needs of the HIV community (both heterosexual and LGBT). This concept was created by a positive person follow their own diagnoses due to there being so few places that we can meet someone to date without fear of stigma or even rejection upon disclosure of status.

Signing up takes just a tick after which you can browse, chat and meet men or women who know exactly what it’s like to date when living with HIV.

#BipolarMe – First of its kind app for Windows and UWP by the @TheWinPhan #BiPolar

BipolarMe for Windows is a result of my wife being diagnosed as Bipolar 1 nearly 5 years ago. We found it hard to get reliable/accurate information online about the mood disorder and equally as hard to find an app that would be considered helpful. In the process, I built a website for my wife to chronicle her experience with Bipolar Disorder in a blog format. I then extended the focus of the site to include the vast amount of knowledge and resources we accumulated during our search for answers, into an easy to understand, well organized, and wide ranging full featured website.

The app is a reflection of the website BipolarMe hosting my wife’s blog. You’ll get full length articles and a viewable comment line, in addition to a plethora of informative resources like a FAQ Center and Learning Center, and other more “entertaining” type features as well. You’ll find recipes for mental health, a full video center broken into categories like “Learning Bipolar” or “Bipolar On TV and Film”, lots of galleries(both informative and entertaining), a dictionary, an offline pill identifier, the ability to connect with a very active Bipolar Online Community, and so much more.

This is app is 100% free with no advertisements. The hope and goal I have for BipolarMe, is for people to find the help or answers they are in search of. I love developing for the Windows ecosystem and hope you enjoy the app as much as I enjoyed building it. I’m working on an update now and have many more planned, I’d love any feedback on improvements or features you’d like to see. Just tag me, @TheWinPhan, in a tweet on Twitter.

VR Human Anatomy – A powerful educational tool to learn anatomy in #VR #VEDAVI

There is quite a few apps now that delve into the medical world which is pretty cool and long may they last and more arrive on the scene but with technology moving forward at the pace it is we are now in the VR space and no better time to start introducing VR apps for those to enjoy and see things in a better perspective and better again immersive,Even for those who have no knowledge in the area can see how things work and so on and this has been popular already with standard apps on our mobiles. VEDAVI  medical is about to enter the VR space with  VR software allows medical students to learn anatomy in a more efficient and interesting way – in virtual reality.

Kateryna Ukrainets tells us about Vedavi

Are you studying medicine, and you feel lost among all those anatomy structures? Are you fond of learning human anatomy, but you find it impossible to memorize all those “tongue-breaking” Latin terms? Then our VR Human Anatomy is the perfect solution for you!

Our software was created for Oculus Rift VR, and it allows you to learn human anatomy in virtual reality. With VR Human Anatomy you can forget about those thick and dull anatomy books. You can easily look at the anatomical structures as you would in the real world! You just grab it with controllers and inspect it from whichever angle you want. Moreover, each structure is labeled so that you can memorize the names of anatomical structures quickly. At the end of the learning session, you can check your knowledge with the help of a quiz.

This exciting learning tool will overcome the stereotype of the complexity of the human anatomy learning. We have spent months to make VR Human Anatomy a precise software and to consider every small detail!

Since our software is created exclusively for the Oculus Rift, we will launch immediately when the Oculus Touch will be available – preliminarily in H2 2016. Nevertheless, the first version of the VR Human Anatomy is ready, and medical students from the University of Zurich have already tested it. Their impression is more than positive.

Our software will be affordable and accessible to as many medical universities of the world as possible. And of course, it will be available for anyone who is interested in learning anatomy!
