Sony announces the update route for their phones. #Android #Nougat #Update #Xperia

Just a few days ago, we read about the public release of a consumer ready Android 7.0 Nougat for the masses. But although this is great news, the well known Android update stress began.

But amongst  all that chaos, there are some OEMs that have served  well their customers when it comes to OS updates, one of them is Sony who just anounced which devices will be updated first.

Xperia Z3+
Z4 Tablet
Xperia Z5, Z5 Compact and Z5 Premium
Xperia X, XA, XA Ultra and X Performance

These devices were the ovious choices as actual or former flagships, but something that caught our attention was the ommision of the regular Xperia Z3 as the company let users installed an early version of the OS.

As it has happen before, probably this first list of phones will be updated later with new additions like the M or C series of phones released on 2015.

But what do you think about this? What are your most expected features of this update? Let us know in the comment section below.

The Xperia Z2, Z3 and Z3 Compact will also get a taste of #Marshmallow By @VicenteA_George #Sony #Android

Last week we told you about the Xperia Z5, Z3+ and Z4 Tablet Marshmallow Update but back then we had no words if that update was coming for more members of the Z family.

During the weekend we received the news that is indeed coming to older models such as Xperia Z3, Z3 and Z3 Compact

The update will come in the form of a beta software through the Xperia Beta Program launched almost a month ago in countries like Italy, Spain and Netherlands.

The firmware version you’ll get is 23.5.A.0.486 which translate to Android 6.0.1 but although is a higher number than the one spotted a few days on newer hardware, this update just have the December 2015 security patches while the former have the ones from February 2016.

This version though is what we probably ended up getting with the corresponding security updates, as is practically the same experience we have with the Z5 .

We have it all! From the camera to the launcher, everything has been modify to match the Z5 counterpart. Also is worth notice that the STAMINA MODE was indeed removed and substituted by DOZE.

Also there’s no Adaptable Storage on this version either.

If you are one of the lucky ones with access to the update let us know your thoughts in the comment section below or join the conversation on twitter.

Google has rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update for Nexus, Nexus 7 2012 & Nexus 7 2013 weighs later on Monday night. There isn’t any official changelog by Google, and it only notes that the update “improves performance and stability and fixes bugs.”

Like the Nexus 5, the update upfront gets tweaked Quick Settings options in the notification panel and more. It also brings improved overall stability and an enhanced ART (Android Run Time) making apps open faster than before. Google had rolled out the Android 5.1 Lollipop OTA update for Nexus 5 users earlier this month.

If the update is available for device, it will be seen as a system notification. Users can also manually check for it by going into Settings > About Phone > System Updates.

LG G3 to receive Lollipop this week in Poland

LG has recently announced that it’s most recent handset, the G3, will be receiving the android Lollipop update sometime this week in Poland, with other markets to follow soon after.

This is a very impressive feat as LG have been known in the past for taking their merry old time when delivering software updates. Of course they haven’t beat Motorola to be the first OEM to push out the update, but second isn’t bad, especially when you consider that the Nexus 5 and other previous generation Nexus devices will be receiving the update around the same time.

That being said, LG have not given any definite dates for the release in any other markets, but rest assured, it will be soon, and if you still can’t wait, chances are you’ll be able to grab the ROM online and flash it to your device if you so wish.
