Valentine’s Day research from Nokia Phones finds that tech items are in the top two things that people are willing to share with their partner

In time for this Valentine’s Day, HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, shares new research[1] revealing that food and tech are the items we are most willing to share with a romantic partner, with food topping the list at 58% (Joey Tribbiani should take notes) followed by a phone charger at 48%.

It comes as no surprise that the majority of people (65%) are more likely to share essential and everyday items with loved ones due to the cost-of-living crisis. This rises to 74% for millennials who are the most likely to share overall and drops to 45% for baby boomers who are the least likely to share. Even 9% of millennials would share their toothbrush. Baby boomers would also sooner share with their family, with 60% saying so.

It looks like hogging the covers is a bigger bugbear between couples than taking a charger, as people are more willing to share a phone charger than their duvet, at 48% and 35% respectively. Interestingly, tablets enter the top three items people are most willing to share with their children (26%), before sharing a tablet with family (25%) and a romantic partner (22%).

Adam Ferguson, Head of Product Marketing at HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, said: It’s unsurprising that tech such as phones chargers are commonly shared items given their everyday use. Tablets in particular are made with shareability in mind, just like the Nokia T21, ideal for the whole family – whether it’s for work, learning or play, it’s made to adapt. Multiple years of software upgrades on smart devices also means that they can be shared for longer or passed down when you are looking to upgrade.”

Items most willing to share[2]:
  1. Food 58%
  1. Phone charger 41%
  1. Duvet 35%
  1. Water bottle 32%
  1. Mobile phone 26%

Nokia announces the X30 5G – G60 5G – C31 phones T21 tablet, new accessories and Circular

HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, today announces Circular, a revolutionary new subscription service with sustainability at its core. Alongside this, three new devices launch including our most eco-friendly smartphone yet, Nokia X30 5G, made with 100% recycled aluminium and 65% recycled plastic. Plus, more responsible packaging, as well as our standard longevity promises to revamp the Nokia devices portfolio across all ranges.

Florian Seiche, CEO, HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones: “At HMD Global, home of Nokia phones, we want people to keep their phones for longer and this can be seen across three areas. We have introduced Circular, a truly circular subscription model that rewards people who extend the lifecycle of their phones. We build our devices with more recycled materials and continue to boost our longevity heritage with software and security updates. And we are working hard to live this approach as a company, with our business-wide sustainability pledges that shows our commitment to continue to work harder to protect tomorrow.”

Circular – a subscription service redefining mobile phone ownership with sustainability at its core

Introducing Circular – a revolutionary new subscription service offering a more sustainable and hassle-free way to use Nokia smartphones and tablets. We are incentivising people to keep their phones for longer with a range of eco-friendly rewards. Circular minimises the negative impact phone ownership can have on the planet by keeping smartphones and tablets out of landfill and giving them a second life. Within our subscription model, Nokia devices go through recycling, refurbishing and re-subscribing or they go to a charitable cause that needs it the most. In addition, it provides people with complete freedom to choose and change their subscription. Any accidental damage, loss, or theft will be taken care of without a separate monthly cost, and a quick replacement arranged if needed.

Ben Wood, CCS Insight: Sustainability is important to customers when it comes to connected electronics devices. CCS Insight’s research shows that roughly half of consumers in key European markets believe that creating products that last longer is helpful and positive for the environment. HMD continues to encourage consumers to keep their device for longer and with Circular, it also means devices stay out of landfill. Electronic waste is an issue the whole industry must address and services like Circular are a positive step towards creating change.”

Review – The Aukey T21 cost just €35 but deliver. #Aukey #T21 #TrueWireless

The Aukey T21 are a budget pair of true wireless earbuds and at this price you will question on how good they can be, Like I have said before the cost to performance ratio is coming down on true wireless as it has on smartphones and something to keep in mind Aukey  have had a constant good audio signature from what I have tested over the last few months.

First notable thing here is the fit, they fit really well and they are really comfortable and will not budge from the ears, the noise isolation is better than expected and they sit well. They have a plain bland look with no buttons on board but that is fine and at this price point you really cant complain when you get the sound they deliver.

Build quality is simple and a plastic affair with IPX4 rating which will suit most people like commuters or for those who want to have a spare pair lying around or if you are heading off for a trip or camping weekend and dont want to bring your more expensive ones away.

The touch controls for me where fine with simple commands to follow. Double tap on the left and right to play and pause, Triple tap either side to get access to your voice assistant and a long press left or right to skip or reverse tracks and that is all there is to it. There is no volume control here which is fine but something to think about, being honest it does not bother me and again you have to think of the price.

There is no auto play or pause and they can be used individually once not in the case, the right side will work with the left charging and the left wont with the right side charging in the case, again people like to know these things.

Calls are fine and clear here too on both sides, The audio experience though is where they excell for the price, they have a nice bass level though not too deep and overall the sound experience is bright and well balanced and you will not be disappointed at all, there is no lag latency whilst watching Netflix or You Tube and the volume level is quite decent so for me the max is the better level but that is my personal taste.

Battery life is around the 4 hour mark which is fine but you get 25 hours in total with the case which is not to sniffed at and these are on par with the companies claims with two full charge and discharges.. So for the money are they worth it?? An easy yes if you want something clean and just works minus the aesthetics and just do the job they are meant to do and these do just that and more for the price tag. Tested on both Android and iOS and work fine with both.
