Tech Review – Otterbox case line-up for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3

Otterbox have kindly sent us a huge range of cases and accessories to check out and today we check out the line up for the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 3 which is one of my current daily drivers right now and up to now it was a love hate relationship and getting use to the new form factor, also worth noting I had a cheap case on it for it until more arrived and we do have more to come and the case I have decided to use it making the user experience a lot better for several reasons. Otterbox is also a brand I have been using for years myself and one brand I turn to when I get a new device and typically one case would last me the lifetime of my phone, in fact I still have the same case from the iPhone 12.

There is two case types available for the Flip 3 now and one of them is the Thin Flex Series which for now comes in Pink and Black and are really nice and also a really secure fit on your device giving it the protection you need, being an expensive phone you are better off casing up as it will not be a cheap fix regardless.

Tech Review – Otterbox case roundup for the iPhone 12 plus 18w charger. #Otterbox #tech

Recently on tech buzz we checked out the Otterbox Symmetry case for the Google Pixel 5 and it is serving me well and protecting my device, One of my other devices in house now is the iPhone 12 and Otterbox has kindly sent us a selection of cases for it and an 18 charger something that Apple forgot to put in the box.

POP SOCKETS have been a popular gadget for some time now and Otterbox has included three colours here alongside their symmetry cases so there is something for everyone here with a really nice selection to choose from, Also now has new packaging a red heart on the front. This is our giving back program, any customer who purchases an Otterbox case that comes in that packaging can now go onto our website (website is included in the packaging) and choose a prevetted charity that Otterbox will donate €1 to on their behalf. Their new products (Including pixel 5 as seen above) now come in new white and black packaging, this packaging is recyclable and can be disposed of in a green bin. It’s not 100% plastic free as there are plastics in the adhesive and the ink I think but a nice sustainability change.

And finally the symmetry colours Black, Blue, Grey (Not clear) for iPhone 12/pro/mini/max now come with Anti microbial protection built in, stopping the growth of nasty bugs on your device and helping keeping it safer to use. – it will be written on the packaging for all products it applies to.

Review – Otterbox Symmetry case and Alpha Glass screen protector for the Google Pixel 5 #Pixel5

Otterbox is a well known case brand and have been a staple of case making for many years with their tough approach to protecting your smartphone, often bulky back in the day with technology things have changed and they now have more streamlined cases to protect your smartphone and a much wider range and also accessories to go with them. Review – Otterbox 10,000 mAh Qi Powebank and power cables. #otterbox #tech

Otterbox have sent us over some products to check out which includes their super tough powerbank and some cables which simply beat most others out there due to their construction and also some cases but more on those at another time.

The powerbank is a solid block with what looks like the 21:9 aspect ratio which we now see in many phones today and is built like a tank with ports that are covered with a flap and textured edges and this is a 10,000 mAh which is more than enough for one person but three people can share this with its port availability making it a piece ideal for travel or going to festivals to keep you powered up on the go and knowing you have a solid piece that is built to last. Car charger are available all over the place but what I find is they are rubbish and fall apart after a few weeks or less due to the crap build quality with either the springs going or the ends falling off, this will not be the case here with this product and just like any other Otterbox product it is built to last,this offers USB A and USB-C charging which again can be used to charge to products on the go in your vehicle which saves you ports too..

Samsung Galaxy S5 #Otterbox Commuter case review.#Cases #Samsung #Otterbox #JTB

The Samsung Galaxy S5 is one of the latest devices to hit the stores and it is not cheap so protection is a worthy investment,today we have the otterbox commuter case for the S5 which is alot less bulky than the defender case we had last week and it fits quite well and also looks good.

 

Now as pictured above here is the Galaxy S5 without the case and one with the case to see the difference between the two and to give some idea on how it will look with the commuter case on board,to be honest i think this is a great case and if you are a samsung fan this is the one for you which of course is cheaper than the all out defender case.

The case comes with a screen protector pack too so the full package is complete with the commuter kit..

 

The bottom of the case leaves enough room to gain easy access ton the USB section of the device which has a rubber flap built into the S5 this adds even more protection to the charge port which would be one of  the most frequently used areas of the S5.

The top gives us the headphone socket and mic areas and the headphone socket has a  flap which opens and closes giving the headphone socket full protection when not in use.

The back of the case has a good gripping texture making it non slippy,it also gives us the camera,flash,the infamous heart monitor and speaker.

These are quite recessed on the case which will certainly keep them from harms way and there is no rough edges to be felt anywhere here either.

The right hand side it is completely protected giving us just the power button,this is soft and did not cause any issues at all and we seen no lack of functionality..

The left hand side leaves us again completely protected and with the volume toggles again softly covered and worked perfectly fine with no loss or interruption in functionality,.

To hold the device with the case on is quite nice and not bulky or awkward…

Over all the case looks great,feels great and i would recommend this case even for the not so concious user.

#Samsung Galaxy S5 #Otterbox Defender case review,via #JimbosTechBlog #Cases.#Protection

This time of year we see many new phones hit the market and right now there is some great phones to pick from.

Otterbox cases are arguably the best cases that offer protection for your device and this time around with thanks to otterbox.ie we have the Galaxy S5 defender case and here is what we think.

The otterbox defender case for the Galaxy S5 comes in 4 pieces,presented as per norm in the header photo.

The galaxy S5 is an expensive phone so this would offer the phone superb protection especially if you drop it where the screen would cost around €180  vs the price of the defender case which is €49.95..

This is what the finished assembly looks like and its not so bulky to be honest and offers the best protection to date for the S5.It is also quite easy to assemble taking about 3 minutes max.

The bottom of the case leaves plenty of access to the USB charging area which is already protected with a rubber flap on the phone itself,somehow i could not see this flap lasting for the phones lifetime with heavy usage..The case provides plenty of protection down this end.

The top of the case provides plenty of space for the headphone socket,and should accommodate all types be it straight or L shaped headphone jacks..

The left hand side holds the volume toggles and these worked fine you might find a little stiff at first but this is expected at first but no problems,buttons worked fine for me.

The right hand side provides only a power key on the S5 and as you can see it is protected well here with the defender case,works fine with no issues..

The rear of the case actually looks quite nice and i like the blue colour,the back of the S5 holds the camera,heart monitor and speaker,once again all these components are well protected with a sleek design ,no rough edges and the angled curves are in a gray colour which complements the blue well and also a good recess so the protection here is quite adequate..

Also in this S5 pack comes a belt clip,not so common these days but you get one anyway,this does add some bulk to the device and some may find it a tad too big but again its handy if you are in the building trade for example the clip is quite strong and robust and very secure holding the device in place at 5 points.The screen protector is built into the top layer of the case which again provides plenty of protection for the phones screen in dusty or damp conditions.

 

Overall i was happy with the case and it is priced well,some may find it expensive but you have to balance up the options in the long run.
