Tech Review – ZAGG Pro keyboard 15

Keyboards are a vital accessory for content creators journalists and more and especially those in office environments and ZAGG have announced a slew of new keyboards recently for you to check out and they are very robust and simple to use, keyboard type though is subjective to each user though as you have travel and tactility to think about, for me I typically use square keys and I use chromebooks most of the time and again keys are square and near flat on my laptops.

I have not used a standalone keyboard in years however I am changing my set-up at home to a monitor and this keyboard will fit right in after using it for a few weeks and have come to like it, This even works on a mobile phone which is great and has multipoint connection so you can use up to three devices at once which suits me perfectly right now, On one test I used my Galaxy Z flip5 and two chromebooks so moving between either is simple with the three standout blue keys up top of the keyboard, there is also and extra numeric keypad on the right which is something I have not used in years and last used on an old dell laptop which is handy for some people.

A few keys have a backlight for ease of use and the keys are perfectly sized although it did take me some time to get use to the travel and tactility but you can adjust fairly fast however I have big fingers and typing is always an issue when speed typing but that is just me but there is others out there like me.

One thing I have noticed is less fatigue on the fingers and hand after using this for some time which is valuable for someone like me who is constantly on my laptop writing tech reviews, even if not on the laptop I can use my phone which sometimes I do to get the ball moving on some things which have some urgency so if in a hotel room or travelling this keyboard works much better than the tiny keys on my phone and being a Flip phone this pair well with it.

Like I said a keyboard is subjective and or me this is the first one I have used in years and it is perfect for my needs, looks good and is robust with a super batter life and comes with wireless charging and you should check it out, check the video below for more.

Dell Unveils New Upgrades to Alienware Flagship Desktop, Reveals Tenkeyless Keyboard and New QD-OLED Display

Dell Technologies has today unveiled a revamped Alienware Aurora R15 with next-gen tech, the first-ever Tenkeyless (TKL) keyboard, and a new QD-OLED gaming monitor.

Alienware Aurora

The new Alienware Aurora R15 desktop sees a significant performance boost, thanks to the latest 13th Gen Intel® Core™ processors, NVIDIA® GeForce RTX® 40 Series GPUs and an armada of system refinements.

To achieve higher thermal efficiency and help ensure peak performance, Dell has equipped 240mm liquid cooling, five 120mm fan and a hexagonal side-venting to generate additional airflow. A 12-phase, processor, voltage regulation helps enable long-lasting peak performance, while a voltage regulator heatsinks on the motherboard help ensure maximum cooling.

The device also sports a 80 Plus Platinum-rated power supply, an increased memory speed to DDR5 4800MHz (or MT/s) and defined memory architecture that enables the highest speed UDIMM for faster performance.

With these advancements, Dell is delivering 58% more power to the processor, obtaining double digit performance improvements, and simultaneously running the CPU up to 5˚ Celsius cooler.

The Aurora R15 now also includes up to a 1350W power supply (up from 1000W in the previous generation), designed to support NVIDIA’s flagship GeForce RTX® 4090 graphics card. addition to offering NVIDIA GeForce RTX 40 Series and 30 Series GPUs, Aurora R15 will also be configurable with AMD Radeon™ RX 6000 Series graphics.

Alienware’s first-ever Tenkeyless Gaming Keyboard

Alienware’s new space-saving Tenkeyless Gaming Keyboard (AW420K) helps users win back valuable desktop real estate while staying at the top of their game. Whether curating a minimal desk setup or looking for more room to manoeuvre your mouse, this smaller form factor design drops the number pad to maximise space and free up more area for fast-action swipes. Promoting a clean and organised gaming environment, the AW420K makes cable management simple and versatile.

Another benefit to this compact keyboard is that it’s more travel friendly than its full-size siblings. When packing up, users can remove the USB paracord cable for easier storage.

Outfitted with a robust suite of technology, the AW420K delivers a typing experience that is responsive, consistent, and long-lasting. Industry-leading CHERRY MX Red switches provide incredible reliability and durability with their gold-based cross-point contact system. The thick gold layer makes the electrical contact enclosure self-cleaning and gives the key switch permanent protection against corrosion, guaranteeing more than 100 million actuations without loss of quality.

New QD-OLED monitor

After unveiling the world’s first QD-OLED gaming monitor earlier this year – subsequently named Tom’s Guide Product of the Year and GamesRadar+ Best Ultrawide Monitor – Dell is continuing to expand its QD-OLED offerings with the introduction of a new Alienware 34 Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor (AW3423DWF).

For those seeking increased realism the Alienware 34” Curved QD-OLED Gaming Monitor delivers stunning picture quality and ultra-smooth frame rates that transform the entire gaming experience. Just like the previously launched AW3423DW model, this new monitor offers the same impressive picture qualities of Quantum Dot-OLED technology including consistent colour uniformity, wide colour coverage, deep black tones and incredible brightness. With WQHD (3440 x 1440) resolution and blazing-fast 0.1ms GtG response time, gamers can stay ahead of the competition without stuttering, input lag or motion blur while playing fast-paced games. It also supports the latest generation of consoles with VRR up to 120Hz.

Available in dark side of the moon colour and now with a slimmer design to facilitate easier wall mounting. It ships standard with 3-year limited hardware warranty.

Pricing and availability

  • All three new devices will be available later this autumn with pricing to be revealed closer to availability.

WhatsApp gets full emoji keyboard including skin tone selector and file sending now up to 2GB

Mark Zuckerberg just announced that Reactions on WhatsApp is expanding to include a full emoji keyboard meaning people will now be able to use any emoji when reacting to a message on WhatsApp. As part of the full keyboard, users will also have the ability to select a different skin tone for emojis.

In addition, you can now send files within WhatsApp up to 2GB in size at a time, protected by end-to-end encryption. This is an increase from the previous limit of 100MB and we think will be helpful for collaboration among small businesses and school groups. We recommend using WiFi for larger files and we’ll display a counter while uploading or downloading to let you know how long your transfer will take.

Microsoft teases with prototype called #DisplayCover to enhance productivity by @Tiwaash #MicrosoftAppliedSciences

Everyone loves a smart, stylish, compact and powerful device which surely adds to the productivity manifolds and this is where tablets came in and then there came powerful tablets to ease the work and this resulted in Surface Pro 3 a powerhouse. Well you might be wondering why am I talking about this, it’s because of the latest research from the folks at Microsoft Applied Sciences.

Looking to further bridge the gap between slate and laptop, Microsoft Applied Sciences built a prototype device it calls the DisplayCover: a keyboard cover that houses an e-ink touchscreen display. The 1,280 x 305 resolution panel not only provides access to app shortcuts, but it can also handle touch gestures for navigation and accept stylus input. The e-ink display material was selected because it wouldn’t put too much added strain on battery life like a full-color touch panel would. It’s interesting to take a look at what companies are doing to make efficient use of small screen sizes for maximizing productivity.

The stylus feature seems to make things like signing documents and scribbling notes a breeze, based on the demo video. In the case of an app like Photoshop where you need constant access to tool palettes, those items can be parked at the top of the keyboard so they don’t take up valuable space on the tablet’s display.

Really looking forward to this awesome feature rich display which is very handy. Let us know what you feel about this in the comments below.

Stay tuned for more tech buzz.
